We used U-Pack for a move from Southern California to Missouri last month, and our experience was great from start to finish. Our move quote we were given was the price we paid, I felt like they were 100% transparent on the costs, and what would cause the costs to increase. You're given a paper that explains to you in the moving plan that explains the cost per the square footage you fill up. Drop off & pick up of the trailer we're really easy and so was picking up our stuff at the hub. We moved to a rural area that they didn't service, so my husband had to drive to go get the stuff once it got there. They were really nice at the Stafford, MO location, and even had people there who were helpful to my husband and his dad when they were there to pick up the stuff. My only thing I can say is that the trailer did arrive a few days early than we were told, and the "3 day" period you have to come get your stuff started when the trailer got there vs when we were told it would get there. We planned our move around when the trailer would arrive, so it did rush them having to go out to get it. All and all, I was really nervous about a cross country move especially with other moving companies being known to be delayed with peoples belongings for months and price increases on the day of. From start to finish, there as little to no communication on when my trailer would be dropped for loading. PODS called and gave me a window and hit the bullseye on time and service. Upack- Given a 24 hr loading window, the trailer is still not here and it's 3 pm... what a joke. My only previous experience is with PODS.Trust Me it's worth the extra money. My experience with UPack was good. Went to the Fontana location and walked into dispatch and the man was nice asked me to wait about 5-10 minutes. I took off a star only because I waited closer to 25 and there were people standing around talking and I was the only one waiting. When I did get my container, I want to thank Javier Felix. He brought it out, friendly and even helped my movers load a few things and gave suggestions on how to pack the container. If you need to find load/unload help the local U Pack people will make suggestions and recommendations to help you. Each driver I encountered was just great! Friendly, helpful, and willing to go out of their way to make the moving process as streamlined and efficient as possible! In the even that your destination home isn't quite ready to move into when the trailer arrives, it can be stored at the local U Pack depot, but that will add a substantial amount of additional expense to your invoice!! If I were had more time, I would have canceled this service. I definitely will not recommend it to others who I know are moving cross country. First, they were very late in dropping off the container. I called 30 min after the 4 hour window just to be told they would leave their facility in 30 min. Then wqs given another 4 hour window. I told them we already waited for 4 hours and had other things to do and could not wait another 4 hours. The person wisely acquiesced. Then they were late again (because of traffic). With no estimate we left again. To my surpise, this isn't like the trailers that fit on flatbeds... it's really the gigantic trailer. So, just beware of that. It sits taller than a 1 story house. I was told pick up on a Sat, was fine. We had the ability to get it loaded in a few hours. Well, turns out its only on business days, so definitely beware of that. We need slighly more space amd I was quoted 139 dollars. Let's see if that holds true. Oh and they don't actually provide a lock, though they said they did. I'd say just stick with PODS, I wish I had. The price difference was significant (like 1200 for this option,, and 400 for their container that is like a pod, but don't do it). We moved from California to Indiana and researched a ton of different moving companies, PODS, and even renting a truck on our own. While renting a Uhaul was slightly cheaper it would have left us to drive the truck across country and dealing with gas, overnight stays at a hotel with a truck, and the risk of it breaking down. Moving companies are notorious for not deliberating on time or even charging more at the end of the trip. UPack was easy from the beginning to the end. They dropped off a trailer that we had 3 days to fill. This gave us plenty of time to load it Tetris style and fit all our stuff for a long distance trip. We sent a text for pickup and that afternoon our stuff was off to Indiana. It arrived in less than the 8-10 business days quoted but they gave us that long to have it delivered. We scheduled delivery and that morning it was dropped off first thing. Once we unloaded it we sent another text for them to pick it up. They scheduled to come the next day. I've used U-Pack twice to move across country and both times they exceeded my expectations. Their customer service is fantastic, they're there when they say they'll be, they're very understanding if there's overages on time needed to pack or unpack the truck, they even arranged a drop off and pick up on the same day because the manager at the storage facility wasn't ok with having the truck parked there overnight. Both times everything arrived safely, anything that was damaged was due to our not packing it properly, the drivers are all super friendly and helpful and overall, they made moving cross country, twice, much more bearable. I honestly couldn't say enough good things. Before I used them the first time I'd done a ton of research and read soooo many horror stories. Stories about things being stolen, things being stored in warehouses with other peoples stuff (and because of that stuff was missing/broken), stories about dismissive customer service, you name it, I read about it. Then I read reviews for U-Pack and though some weren't great, the issues that garnered those reviews were mostly about things that seemed to me to be unavoidable. Moving stuff across those distances, there's going to be something that's damaged, something that's not perfect, but in my two experiences with U-Pack I didn't have any issues with anything to do with them. A few things were damaged both times but it was because things weren't packed properly or well, nothing that could've been helped or avoided by U-Pack. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a trucking company to move their stuff. I've recommended them a couple of times already. We moved my mom from California to Kansas City. It was so smooth with drop off and pick up. Customer service was readily available. The only hiccup was with the drop off, I was told I would get a phone call an hour before they do the drop off, but never received a call. I thought the move would go well and it did! The drop off was on time, and the driver was very informative. The ramp was a little difficult to roll anything with smaller wheels up due to the larger grid of the ramp. It was easy to open and close for me but may be heavy for some people. Drop off was equally on or before expected time. It arrived at least 2 days earlier than the window they gave. They stated they would have held it til I was ready but I had already arrived and was happy it was there early. U-Pack was the solution for us! We moved from So Cal to Goodyear Az. They dropped off 3 UPACK pods and we loaded three pods, we locked them up in May 2022 and U-Pack loaded them onto their truck and drove them to Az. They dropped the pods in storage for us and stayed there until our house was finished in Feb 2023. We called UPACK and they delivered our pods which were still locked with our heavy duty locks. We unpacked our pods and called UPACK to pick them up. The next morning the truck were there to collect the empty pods.Our experience with UPACK was GREAT! I would first like to start off by saying that I don't give bad reviews flippantly; especially if the company is apologetic. No company is perfect but customer service is key. This company failed big time in that area. Prior to our moving day, they were all about communication but since our incident, we haven't heard a word which is why I am writing this review. When we researched moving companies, U-Pack kept popping up as an affordable option and I'm sure they are, HOWEVER..... The 28' box trailer truck that was assigned to us didn't have a loading ramp. Are you kidding me? And when I called U-Pack they informed me that they knew that the trucks at our location had that problem. Why didn't they tell me ahead of time? That would've been a deal-breaker for us. We ended up aborting the mission having to pay an additional $200 for another month in our storage unit plus make another trip to California from Tennessee and arrange loaders again to get our stuff. We had heard that U-Pack is a good company, however, our experience was not a good one and the company didn't seem to care. There was no apology when I called while this all was happening and no follow-up afterwards. I know that they are busy and don't really need our business, but a little customer service would've gone a long way and I wouldn't feel compelled to write this review. So, in conclusion, do your due diligence and be sure to ask your self-loading trucking company if they provide ramps with their trucks. Who would've thought you'd have to ask that question? I liked u-pack all around for the most part. You get the truck for about 3 days beforehand which is great. They only charge you for what you use, so the price is better than many others. It takes a bit longer to get to the destination, but that's why it's cheaper. My only issues were with the pick-up and drop-off. The app says give 24 hour notice, so I was going to do that, however when you click on the link, it gave me the impression that they could come at any time after I hit the button. I wasn't packed at that moment. I waited until 10pm on a Thursday thinking it would be picked up on Friday. Nope, it was pushed to Monday. The pick-up of the empty trailer was worse. I knew we'd have it emptied quickly and I knew the issue I had with pick up. As soon as we got the trailer, I requested a pick up hoping it would be out the next day (my HOA wasn't happy with a large trailer sitting in the street). The request kept saying the next day, however it wasn't picked up. The following day I called and they said it would be picked up. I came home from work at 5:30 and it was still there, so I called a second time and it was finally picked up that night. Other than that, I'd recommend them read more

Room for improvement: When having your relocube delivered, you're not given an estimated time for delivery, but rather an 9-hour time frame. In my case, the container was delivered 2 hours after the estimated time frame. So I had to wait at home for an entire day for nothing. I called multiple times to try to get an estimate, but they said they were unable to give an estimate. Frustrating. Update from the next day: we called after our cube was empty and asked for a pick up they said that it would be picked up the next day. I call at 7:30 am the next day to check and they said it would not be picked up until Monday. We are now at risk of getting this towed away by our apartment complex- so if you live in an apartment complex DO NOT USE UPack. We live less then 20 miles from the facility. Update- after posting this review and the service rep contacted me: in attempt to remedy the situation they credited my order 100 dollars. The order was priced at around $4200 from NYC to California. That was helpful and kind to have them reach out but the biggest complaint as it was stated above this was the time window for delivery. The time window is 8-5pm very large range- it needs to be shortened. read more

I would not recommend using this company without having a back up plan. As many other reviewers have mentioned about having their reservations canceled right before their move. The same exact thing happened to me, U-Pack actually did not even notify me, I happened to call because I wanted to change my move date and that's when I was notified my dates were not available. I was actually told I did not even have a reservation even though my info was in their system and they took down my cc information. I think this is completely unacceptable as it's a simple fix to their online system to block dates that are unavailable so prospective customers could decide whether they are able to rearrange their move dates or look elsewhere. read more
