Everyone that we talk to was wonderful, very helpful. All of our stuff made it securely to our destination. We did rope everything down only one thing fell off the ropes but that was our doing. The only complaint that I have when we had our trailer delivered it had a hole in the top of the roof. As soon as I call they were willing to bring out a new trailer but at that time we already had some of her furniture loaded so we asked if we could repair it which we did. And it seemed to have worked and held. Quick response with any questions that we have it was here and ready to be delivered right on time. I waited 25 min in the sun w the ac on and off in the car to have someone take me and my movers to my relo-cube. I had to go into the dispatch office 3 times and ask when is someone coming to help us? I called the upack call center for help w the poor service and the representative said she sent them an email and theres nothing else she can do to help, and to go in there again :/ Then when i am being guided to my cube, i have an employee in her big rig truck get out harass me and my movers about why we are there, even though its clear another employee is taking care of us. When i told her if she doesnt go away i will start videotaping her, she started talking normal about safety or whatever, but before and after the videotaping, she was mad that i was ignoring her and that i need to pay attention to her when she is talking to me, and she got out of her big rig to let me know this. She was yelling " f$&@ this and f/& her " while i walked away. Then she was waiting at the exit for me after i was done loading my cube. I had to have the supervisor of the facility escort me out. They told me to wear a mask, but didnt tell me i have to have close toed shoes. Another lady at the front wouldnt let me enter the building and check into the front desk with the shoes i had on. Luckily i had an extra set of shoes in the car. The supervisor listened and said he will take care of it at the facility, which helped a lot bc i was super upset. But you dont want to deal with any of this. Not when u r paying $900 and dealing w the stress of moving. No way. Bad bad experience. read more

I had driven Budget trucks in the past. Medium size twice. 28' several times. I always liked what I got with them. But U-Pack was better. The customer service was 5-Star every step of the way. It did not matter if it was getting the order set up with U-Pack or the local warehouse personnel or the ABF drivers on each end of the trip. Every single on was friendly, ready to answer questions. The drivers both helped with getting the ramp set up, since it was different from a U-Haul ramp or a Budget ramp. Furthermore, not only was it less expensive than Budget initially (when I thought I would need 24 linear feet of space), but since the interior width & height were greater than Budget, I only needed 15 linear feet. I like a rental truck, where you pay a flat fee, U-Pack charges a flat rate for the first five linear feet and $128 per linear foot afterwards. You only pay for what you use. So I saved a lot $1200 vs the original quoted price. I would highly recommend UPACK/ABF for any moving need, especially if transporting from California, which has the most expensive rental truck rates in the nation. read more

Such a great experience using U-pack/ABF. Really glad we chose to use a trailer. We moved across the country and I am glad we chose to do it this way. We had plenty of space, we booked 20 feet, but ended up only needing 18 feet and our cost was adjusted. We had an issue with locking the trailer the night before it was supposed to be picked up so I called the customer service. And they sent someone out around 8 pm to pick it up so it wouldn't sit unlocked. We also had to store our stuff for about 3 weeks, we called a week before for delivery and it arrived first thing in the morning that was asked for. They sent a text message for pick up when we were done and the trailer was picked up the next day. I would highly recommend this company! read more

We finally got to escape California and move back to Missouri where I grew up. U-Pack was awesome. What surprised us the most was the speed on how our relocube arrived at its destination site. We had it picked up in california on the 1st of december 2021, 8 days later we recieved the notification that the cube was ready to be picked up at its distribution center in Alabama, which we were not expecting to arrive for another week. Another plus was that all our items in the relocube were still intact. We are most definitely not professional packing specialists, i mean we even suck at tetris, but eventhough it was poorly packed our items were undamaged and safe. read more

I would not recommend U-Pack. My experience with UPack was a nightmare. They delivered a 28 foot trailer to my home the day before thanksgiving 11/27/19. It was raining that day. When my movers arrived on Friday 11/29/19 and begin to move my furniture inside. The trailer floor was covered with water. The roof of the trailer had a hole in it. I looked at the outside of trailer and I could see where U-Pack attempted to previously repair the roof. So they knew there was a previous issue with the trailer roof. To make matters worse. I tried to contact U-Pack by phone and I emailed their customer care team for 3 days. On Monday I called finally spoke to a representative on the phone she was rude and Not empathic. She offered to bring another trailer and didn't want to discuss compensating me or discounting my move. She said U-Pack Would have someone call me once the new trailer was delivered and picked up. I told her no I needed to discuss that now. This are all the huge inconveniences and extra expenses Upack has caused me along with tons of mental stress and lots of wasted time !!!!! I have to pay movers for coming out once already now I have to reschedule movers again. I booked a flight leaving on Monday (today). I have to pay to re- book my flight. I am due to report to work tomorrow. I will not be to report to work tomorrow. I have to pay for additional days of rent in December because I was due out of my current Place by 11/30/19. After explaining this to the U-Pack representative she offered to compensate me $50 per day for the 5 days. $250.00 what a joke. I called back talk to a supervisor he was even more rude and told me that normally they don't even compensate $50 per day so that offer was very generous. So, I was a little leery to go with a company I hadn't heard of, but, overall it was a great experience! We live in a rural area so I was a little worried that they were going to give me issues getting the big trailer dropped off, but the driver was very professional and got their despite some difficult weather! The loading and packing was easy, and they picked it up on exactly the day they said they would. Transit time was less than a week, and our contents arrived exactly the way we packed it! A couple of the dispatch drivers from ABF were sometimes difficult to communicate with, but overall it went smooth! The end goal was to get our stuff from one state to another, and it happened smoothly! Their prices definitely can't be beat, especially if you compare it to something like United! I love how you only pay for the space that you use! It's fantastic! I would definitely recommend this moving company to anyone looking to move across the country! read more

They were the best door to door service for the money that we could find. Your things need to be packed really well. This is a freight trailer. It does not have a soft ride suspension like some moving lines have. The bulkhead is a little difficult to install and the ramp isn't that great. The ramp we had to load required about a half hour of work just to unfold it and lock. The ramp we had for unloading was ok. Both had holes in the grate that the hand truck wheels would fall into. Overall we were satisfied with the service and the price. They delivered with in one day of scheduled delivery which wasn't bad. Just keep in mind that weekends are not counted in the delivery timeframe. read more

I was really wary of moving after having just helped my mom move and her movers were entirely shady, bilked her out of extra money over her original over-the-phone quote (a big no-no) and took over 28 days to deliver her stuff on the other end. In the end I really liked this experience and have to tell you about it - for one, the delivery of our empty trailer was on-time and the driver spent a lot of time with us, giving advice, showing how the ramp and bulkhead worked, etc. The hard part for us was the loading, because you really do want to load the truck up as tightly as you can. We had nothing break and there was just a little damage on two items that were rubbing against something else (my fault entirely). They said our shipment would arrive in Atlanta (from California) in about 7-9 business days and it arrived a day after we did - only 4 days after pickup!!! They delivered on-time also. We unloaded MUCH FASTER than loading with a third person's help and a better dolly. UPack picked up the next day. By the way, UPack was much cheaper than PackRat and easier to schedule- because we had a trailer, we estimated we would need 13' of trailer, actually needed 14", but the bulkhead can only be put up in 2' increments. Extra footage cost a reasonable amount I thought. I don't have any experience with their pods, or storage, but my experience was really good- my only struggle was loading and wish I had hired someone to do it for me! read more

My husband and I have used UPack in the past. We rented one of their pods a few years back and it was a fabulous experience. Fast forward we are needing to again, this time a whole house 1,500 miles so we are renting a 28 ft. trailer to be dropped off so we can load and they will pick it up and deliver at other end. With the coronavirus stuff the crew at Upack are still on their game and have been so helpful with my changes so far as the whole trip unfolding and dates changing. These guys truly are the Rock Stars of moving services. They try and make it work for you even with the flu shutdowns. Cannot say enough good about the employees. My older son used ABF Freight or U-Pack Moving but it was 3x more expensive only 4 years later. Even though I booked a month b4, they didn't have any regular containers so I had to go with relo cubes (3 of them at $8008 total, although the last was only half full); a regular container would have been cheaper because you only pay the space used, whereas the cubes (6'Dx7'Wx8'H) are only yours. This is why I'm scoring 4 stars not 5. On the other hand, they came when they said both for drop off at origination site, said the cubes would arrive June 30-July 5 and called June 29 to say they're here when do you want them, and final pick up was easy online. The truck drivers delivering them were friendly and helpful and put them exactly where I asked even moving them for me a bit after initially placing them. Nothing was harmed except a few bottles of liquid that leaked in my ziplock bags from heat probabiy but that's why I put them in ziplock bags! Having more containers at peak moving time (summer) and/or charging the cubes comparable would have been preferred. read more

We recently moved to Texas from California and every person we encountered in the company along the way was simply the BEST! From customer service to the drivers at each end of the move to schedulers....all were so friendly and professional and were truly a joy to deal with. We did all the loading ourselves and everything arrived exactly as we put it in the trailer...absolutely nothing was damaged. We had both a 28ft trailer and a relocube. You can check out other companies, but none will offer what U-Pack does for the price. They were considerably below Uhaul and we didn't have to drive or pay for gas along the way! Every scheduled time was met at each end...and there are no hidden costs...we were charged what we were quoted. To say we highly recommend them would be an understatement....they are absolutely the BEST....there isn't another moving service that could begin to compare. U-Pack delivers on all of its promises, but does not narrow down the window of delivery to more than the day you request. No morning only or afternoon only requests, no estimates between hour "x" and hour "y." It gets there when it gets there. Additionally, if no one in your household has any experience with packing such a large vehicle and moving long distance, this is not your best option. At the very least, research what to do to keep your belongings safe from damage. We didn't, and many of our belongings ended up damaged, which they warn could happen if you don't pack the trailer properly. read more

Ordered a unit they brought it and we realized they were too small...we ordered another one...to be delivered Monday....not only did they not deliver the one we ordered but they did not call to tell us they picked up the unit nor did we sign any paperwork but the unit is in transit. And we didn't even finish packing our stuff in a unit they never sent. DO NOT use this company...period. The lady assured us that the unit was in route....that was a lie. Excellent service! We rather quickly moved long distance from CA to WA state and did not want to drive a large moving truck - this company exceeded my expectations. I recommend reviewing the PDF document that includes a checklist of what/how to prepare prior to the arrival of your shipping container once you have scheduled. I did not do this and was not as prepared as they would have liked me to be. Nonetheless, on the day of the drop off they were very helpful and accommodating to help me figure out what to do about where to place the shipping container near our apartment complex. From the very first phone call to U Pack, my experience has been amazing. Everything I was told about what to expect was true, from the cost to the final delivery. My trailer was dropped off as scheduled and the driver explained, in detail, how the processed worked. They give you a tracking number to follow the progress of your trailer. Moved 2000 miles and first checked Pods. I used Pods moving into my old house and they were unable to position the Pod on my driveway so I had to unload from the street. U-Pack Driver delivered truck exactly where I asked which made loading easy. Arrived at destination sooner than expected, and driver positioned to exactly where it was needed for easy unloading. Thought I would just need 13 feet but ended up using the whole trailer. Good thing it was that was an easy option! read more

I chose Upack as the moving company to move my things from one state to another state due to its price and reputation compared to other moving companies. I called Upack on July 27 to see if I can use their services on August 31. I wanted to make sure that if there were any problems, then things can be dealt with at a reasonable time or that I can have time to find another moving company. Talking to the representatives on the phone has always been pleasant. The only part that was not pleasant was the lack of correct communication that was going on between Upack and with the ABF company. Also to be fair on them, I actually thought that Upack did everything meaning that they collect the money for their services and that they use their own trucks. Later on, I got corrected by a representative from ABF in that Upack deals with the scheduling the services and the money transactions while ABF are the ones that have the trucks. The first time I spoke to a representative on July 27 went very well. I told him my situation in that I needed their services on the Saturday of August 31 to move my things since I live in state B and will fly out to state A to take my things out of the storage unit to put in the ABF truck. The representative said that should be no problem but that I should call the ABF company from state A to make sure that they will be open on Saturdays since that was on Labor Day weekend. I called ABF from state A on July 31 to verify that it was okay to get the ABF truck to my storage unit sometime on Saturday. The representative told me that they can get a truck to the storage unit location but they cannot pick the truck up on the same day; they also cannot leave the driver there for an hour or 2 to wait for us to load up the truck and then drive away. So we both concluded that in order for this to work out, I will need to somehow get my stuff to an ABF location. I was fine with that and then I started to make reservations to rent a Uhaul for that day. The week of August 26, I received a phone call about my upcoming scheduled service on Saturday. I appreciated the follow up call to make sure that everything was going as planned. Later on, ABF and I continued to communicate through emails. I mentioned that I can be there between 2 to 3 pm. The representative responded back to mention that time will be fine. Then later on that day, the representative emailed me back to see say that it is fine to come between that time frame from the days of Monday through Friday but on Saturday, I will need to come in by 10:00 am; but if 2 to 3 pm is only time to do so, then I can come in on Friday. At this moment, I was upset. I felt that way because I scheduled this whole thing a month in advance to avoid situations like this. At this point, it will be difficult for me to find another decent moving company at the last minute. Instead of canceling the whole transaction, I wrote a long detailed email to explain why I cannot move my things on Friday nor can I move my things by 10:00 am on Saturday. The good news was that the representative told me that she got informed that their supervisor should be at the ABF facility until 4:00 pm on Saturday so that I can still load my things at the time frame that was discussed earlier. On Saturday afternoon my friends, parents, and I went to the ABF building to load my things into one of their trucks. One of the guys, who could have been the supervisor, mentioned to me that nobody did not tell him that someone was going to load their belongings into one of their trucks that day. Nevertheless, he was really nice and helpful to prepare the truck for us to load my stuff in. A week later, I see that for their transit status shows that the truck is still in state A even after 4 days have passed. I called Upack to see what was going on. At first, they did not know where my stuff was at. I called back a little later and spoke to another representative who informed me that they find where my stuff is at. Somebody forgot to document on the computer that my stuff was ready to go to state B. Three more days passed and the transit status showed that my things were still in state A. Therefore, I called them again and a representative from the ABF location in state A said that she will let them know that my stuff has not left their facility yet. It took almost 2 weeks for my stuff to finally arrive at state B. Retrieving my stuff from state B's ABF facility was a breeze. Overall I believe that the Upack service was great to use but also had me to feel stressed at times. Next time that I decide to do a big move, I may end up having either my family members, friends, or I drive something like a Uhaul to bring my things from point A to point B. I will still recommend others to use their services if they do not want to move their own stuff in a moving truck. read more

I loved being able to pack our own truck. We were able to fill the truck the way we wanted. If you share space and don't fill the truck it is not packed with other peoples belongings, it is packed with freight going in the same direction. There is a locked wall barrier between your belongings and any freight that is added. We also loved the way that we were able to keep the truck for three days to pack it at our own pace at no extra charge. My husband and I were able to take our time leaving after the truck left because of the time it takes for the truck to arrive at the other end. We were moving from California to SC. Travel time was approximately 6 to 8 days, they do not count weekends. This was nice for us because it enabled us to wait a couple of days to leave and take our time traveling back. We were able to make it a vacation stop and visit Many friends. The truck arrived in perfect timing after we got there and the only damage to any of our furniture was due to our own fault of poor packing. There was no major damage anyway only small scrapes from cardboard rubbing against things furniture furniture wrapping against furniture because we used cardboard instead of blankets. Don't make that mistake it is like sandpaper rubbing against your furniture as a truck drives across country. But it was nothing that a little furniture pen didn't fix. We were also able to leave out the ramp and the exterior walls they give you to block your furniture because we packed the truck so full we could not get them in. They sent a second truck at no charge to pick those items up. They forgot to leave us a lock for the truck so we were able to put our own lock on and give them the keys. When it got to the yard they took our lock off and put our keys and our lock inside our truck and put their own lock on. I did have to call a second time to have them pick up the leftover ramp and walls the day after they picked up our truck but that was no big deal, it was just an oversight on their part. In our opinion they are very professional, their travel times are within their estimated dates, and their rates are better than anyone else we checked. Our daughter had used them before us and other friends had recommended them as well so we felt they were very trustworthy. When you are ready to have them pick up your truck or receive your truck at the other end, they usually will pick up or deliver it the next day unless they already have a full schedule in which case they will deliver it the following day which was our case case. I love that they give you plenty of time to load and unload your truck at no extra charge. And if you need to store the truck because you arrive late and the truck is ready to be dropped off at the end location they only charge $50 a day to store it. You can't find that price anywhere for storage! In our opinion this is an excellent company we will definitely use them again if we ever need to. We are more than satisfied! Thank you U- pack! One last note, if you are traveling and you know the day you will be ready to receive your truck, give them a call two days before to see where your truck is. I found u-pack when I was looking for an alternative to u-haul. I didn't really like the idea of driving a rickety, gas guzzling old truck across country, but I thought I could afford anything else. So I googled best moving companies, and u-pack was one of the companies that came up. I liked the idea that they would drop off a storage container that I could fill myself. POD has a similar idea but much more expensive. U-pack gives you three days to fill it, so you have to be ready to move. If you fill it sooner, that's fine too, they will pick it up when you're done. I actually had them drop the container off at my storage facility. It wasn't a problem. The driver called me 30 minutes before he was at the storage facility, I met him there and let him in. It was really easy. This company has great communication with their customers. I had a DIRECT phone number to a LOCAL employee who answered all my questions. I called her multiple times before all this went down. I had a VERY specific time frame in which to move. I needed the container dropped off one day to fill, pick up the next day, delivered across country, and dropped on on this ONE day within a one hour time period....and they did it! Honestly, I was blown away that company actually did what they said they were going to do. They dropped off the container, gave me three days to unload it and picked it up a few days later (you have three days to unload it). Over all I was really impressed with them. I would definitely use again, or recommend to friends and family. Just FYI: budget quoted me $3,400 to move, NOT including gas and all the other BS (I was moving 1600 miles away). U-pack did it for $3,700 total-but I paid a little extra for the very specific one hour window delivery time. Over all it would have been MUCH more expensive (and painful) using budget. It also would have taking me much longer! Budget Trucks don't drive very fast, and their air conditioner is spotty at best. Sidenote, you can customize your moving package. Check it out online. You can add storage if you need it, add movers if you need help, or other add-ons. You can really customize your own package. That way you're not paying for things you aren't using. Whether you use them or not, it's definitely a company you should check out before moving. read more
