My fiance and I recently made the move from Kansas City to Portland, Oregon. We looked at multiple options for moving, including driving a u-haul and/or renting a moving van. The relocube through U-Pack was the best deal if you take into consideration cost and the process of driving 27 hours with a u-haul. We had a pretty tight timeline for unloading our cube in Portland, so we opted for the guaranteed delivery option and it arrived at 9:00am when they had given us a delivery window of 8:00am-12:00pm. Every step in the process was great. The customer service when we called to ask questions about reserving the cube was extremely friendly and helpful. The drivers that dropped the cubed off in both Kansas City and Portland were polite and friendly. We followed the packing instructions and were sure our cube was packed tight. Not a single thing moved or broke on the journey. The cube fit easily in my fiance's driveway in Kansas City and fit perfectly into a street parking spot at our new apartment in Portland. It was clean and spacious (the 8 foot height gives you a lot of room you don't initially realize). We fit a bed/box spring/frame/headboard, a couch, a kitchen table, a bike, 3 box wardrobes of clothes, 3 large boxes of personal belongings, and tons of boxes of wedding shower and wedding gifts into the cube. At the end, I was worried we would not have enough stuff to fill it tightly enough to prevent anything moving. I would definitely use U-Pack again! read more

Our move was 1300 miles from Wash State to Surprise AZ. The cost of the 28" freight trailer was accurately explained. The trailer arrived on the day it was scheduled and the driver did an excellent job of parking it in front of our house ( suburbs). He fully explained the set-up with the locks and the retaining wall assembly....more on the locks at the end( that is the only "con" comment I have). The truck was picked up on the scheduled day and delivered to the Surprise,AZ on the day promised ( I rcvd advance calls on delivery). After unloading, the trailer was picked up that same day because of parking rules in the HOA.....so from begin to end, everything went to plan. I was quoted 17' of linear space and used 16', so the bill was reduced $100. I enjoyed not having to drive a U-haul truck for 3 days, so the extra cost of using a rental truck was worth the cost.....The only Con: The lock for the retaining wall has to be a specific size or it will not fit ( 1/4" shaft and at least 2 1/2" long, and has a set width). U-Pack did not tell me upfront about this lock sizing; the delivery driver told me after I had already purchased a lock. I spent too much time and effort to locate a lock that would fit, during the stressful time trying to get all our stuff packed for loading. U-haul needs to set forth the lock specs for a lock that fits and who/where to get one or even sell them. read more

We used U-Pack for our return move from Portland, Oregon to Cleveland, Ohio in August 2018 because we'd had such a good experience with our initial move to Portland in September 2015. Second time around was also excellent (though the price increased slightly -- talk with a rep to find the best dates and rates). The door-to-door delivery was so convenient and the drop-off and pickup drivers were amazingly efficient, accurate -- and FAST. Pickup of our loaded relo cube from Portland happened within 30 mins of calling. We looked into other relo cube/pod services but ABF/U-Pack seemed to have the sturdiest, most secure looking pods at a better price. You will need to load the cube yourself or hire labor to do it -- in which case you may need to direct. Plan ahead, scale back and pack smart--if you have a lot of books or recordings, take advantage of USPS media rate and reserve the pod space for furniture. Pad well and buy tie-downs. Overall, U-Pack was a great way to move all our essentials for a reasonable price. Very happy with this service. read more

I recently moved from Oregon back to Alaska. I researched all the ways I could find to get my belongings back safely and for the least money. When I ran across U-Pack I called immediately, figuring it would be too expensive. To my surprise it was most definitely the most economical I had encountered. Plus, it meant I wouldn't have to drive a truck up the Alaska Highway! My contacts with the people from U-Pack were extremely positive. I had to change the date for the drop off and loading of the container because I got delayed in Alaska closing on my house. They were really accommodating and worked with me so well. They delivered the trailer to the house to load up and then picked it up there when I called. And on the other end it was delivered to my new house in a timely manner. I ended up using less space than I was contracted for and was only billed for what I actually used. I really don't plan to move again, but if I needed to transport a lot of stuff again I would definitely use U-Pack! I highly recommend them in every way! read more

We recently had a customer who's household items were very damaged when they arrived in California. We merely loaded the items into a pod for them. U-pack took no responsibility for the damaged items. they denied my customers claim for these items stating that they were not responsible. We had pictures of the items loaded perfectly into the pods they provided. The pods arrived in California in complete disarray and items very damaged. This company has horrible management as I tried reaching them several times to dispute what happened to this poor woman's items. In turn, I had to reimburse her for the damage. Completely unacceptable. As a very honest and reputable company in the Portland area I get literally hundreds of customers asking were and how they should store and ship their household goods out of state. I will never in a million years ever recommend this company..... EVER!!! Please beware of this company folks. They will damage your goods and take no responsibilty. read more

This was a very positive experience. The Cube was delivered on time the day I wanted. It appears small at first but if you treat it like a puzzle it's tall and you can stack it to the roof. Hint: buy moving blankets I got 12 delivered for 60-70$ also get plastic wrap and packaging tape. Wrap furniture with blankets then tape to hold the blankets then finally wrap with plastic wrap. Use ratchet straps I bought 8 for 30$. This cube has strips throughout the unit which these straps can be attached!!! This will keep your belongings protected and prevent items from shifting. Our cube arrived 2000+ miles later looking the same way it was packed. Plan on spending twice as much time packing as you would normally think. It will be worth it when it arrives. Also have plenty of cardboard available for separation and insulation. Good luck worked great on our move! read more

This was the best move we've done. We had the truck over the weekend so we had the time we needed to get help from friends and get the little things taken care of. The driver was extremely helpful.. he helped us with the ramp and the ballast and walked us through the process. Everything was safe; we used our own padlock and we were given a tracking number so we knew where our belongings were the whole time. We didn't have a house yet when we relocated, so we didn't have a rental truck sitting in a hotel parking lot racking up daily fees while we did our house-hunting, which really reduced our stress. When we were ready, the truck was dropped off and we had time to unload it ourselves or hire help. When we were done, we just clicked the link in the text notification and they picked it up the next morning. 10 out of 10 will use them again. read more

I moved from Portland, OR to Atlanta, GA in May 15. There were many moving companies that I got qoutes, however I choosed U-Packed because the cutomer service was very helpful and professional. The price was cheaper than other moving companies. Staff fron both Portland and Atlanta U-Pack terminals had kept tracking the containers and communicated to me when they were arrived in Atlanta. The items in the containers when drop off in Atlanta had same condition as when I loaded in Portland. Nothing was damaged and lost. I was very impressed with how the drivers handle the containers. They are very profession, delivered on time on schedule. I highly recommend any one to use U-Pack. I moved from Vancouver, WA to Chandler, AZ. Delivery was early in the four hour block though I ran into an issue with my apartment complex due to parking. They would not allow the units to be dropped on site. The driver was extremely apologetic though it was not ABF's fault whatsoever. He contacted his dispatch and advised of the situation. I reached out to U-Pack and they updated the contract and quote to be a terminal load. Even though they had made the trip out they reduced the rate to reflect my belongings being loaded at the terminal which is a cheaper price. Though it started out rough and was extremely frustrating, all employees I dealt with were extremely understanding and helpful. The service was excellent and very affordable compared to other big name movers. I changed my order details a few times because our needs changed and it was very easy to do online. There was one issue with an additional trailer arriving, but it was corrected in-time before we actually needed it so was not a problem. I was very happy that when I called someone always picked up right away and I was not on hold long or at all. They were very friendly and informational. Also, the online experience was top-notch informing me of what was needed and when with the exact information I needed to know and nothing else. I recently used U-Pack to move from Portland to San Diego and was extremely satisfied. They dropped off my two cubes within the 4 hour window they promised and picked up the packed cubes within 3 hours of me calling to say they were ready. My stuff arrived in perfect condition within the 3-5 business day window they projected and they charged me exactly the agreed upon amount. It was a tremendous savings too over traditional moving methods. U-Pack in San Diego was very accommodating as well. They are not open on weekends but arranged to place my cubes in their employee parking lot so I could access them on a Saturday. I recommend them highly. read more

Wow we had the most difficult move, 5 U-Pack Trailers and 1 van line. They were so helpful, all American based, no hard-to-understand foreign call centers. They were always available to answer questions, made scheduling changes when ever needed, polite and the drivers were great. I was amazed. The drivers also courteous, on time, explained the travel plans, wore masks, helped with the mental loading ramp and made you feel comfortable with your furnishings travel across country. We moved from Portland, OR to New York and opted for the trailer because it was cheaper then our other options. We had no problem with the arrival of the trailer to the drop off of our items. The company was in constant contact with us, letting us know where our furniture was and when we could expect delivery. My only tip is to know how to pack, sturdy boxes and wrap everything. We had some damage to our furniture from items rubbing and shifting around. Also, make sure to use a tarp because some items were dusty. We moved across the states and had to leave our house hold items in storage until we bought a new home. That process took us 7 months longer then we thought possible. Our house hold goods stayed the whole summer in the U-Pack trailer. Every time we had questions or needed anything we got the answer in a timely manner.
