Solid option for breakfast! I usually try to go to mom and pop type breakfast joints but we were meeting up with family and this was in the middle! It ended up being a good choice. Service was not bad for them being somewhat busy! They did forget a couple things but brought out eventually when we asked. The restaurant was clean. I got a veggie skillet without eggs and extra potatoes, my husband got a traditional breakfast. We also got pancakes to share and for our son to have (we shared our meals with him too)! We all enjoyed our food. I did ask for avocado on my skillet and they said they couldn't do that, I would have paid extra but they said no. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. Fried Chicken & Waffles with two eggs, this review is for this one combo that I ordered. If a restaurant has this combo on their menu I will order it because it's one of my favorite breakfast dishes. The combo comes with three fried chicken strips and just by looking at it I knew I was in for a disappointing meal. The strips probably came from a frozen super market plastic bag and wasn't made fresh in house. When I took my first bite I was not a happy camper. Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday. I got seated right away and was hungry so I asked the waiter about the omelettes. I enjoy my omelettes with the toppings cooked into the eggs and not folded in after the eggs are cooked . Since that was the way they make them here, I ordered the frittata. I figured that would definitely have the ingredients baked in to the eggs. I ordered the frittata which had mushrooms, spinach, onions, and green peppers. When the frittata arrived. It was basically a thin layer of cooked egg with the toppings added on top with some cheese and sour cream. Quite disappointed. I'm used to dining at better restaurants that actually make a special frittata. The hashbrowns were very average at best. Met my neighbors for lunch this time and what a treat!! The hamburgers are THE BEST we've EVER HAD! Fresh ground beef, not a frozen patty made to order! Beautiful grilled bun & fresh veggies. The drip coffee is really good; I'm picky with coffee especially since it usually burns sitting in the pot. We were there around 10am on a Saturday and the only downside was the kitchen seemed slow. We tried this location the other morning for a quick bite after some appointments. I have dined at some of the US Egg's on the East coast and have never had a bad experience thus far. We started with the mimosa flight and some coffees. The food was really good and the portion sizes were more than you could ask for. My wife ordered the Huevos Rancheros and I had the triple play combo. A different twist on her dish was it is a whole tortilla folded over rather than tortilla chips, which I am accustomed to with this dish. My eggs were fluffy and I substituted the protein pancakes with my chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak was good, not as good as some places which "specialize" in it, but good none the less. The protein pancakes were great. Fluffy and really tasty. A lot of times these types of pancakes can be dry and dull, but not here. They were delicious. The service was great. As the name of this restaurant would imply, it is an amazing place to go get breakfast foods anytime of the day that it is open. I went there for lunch yesterday, and had already had eggs for the day, so I was not in the mood for breakfast. I was happy to see that they had chicken and rice soup as a special for the day. It was the perfect portion and a very tasty broth complete with vegetable and, of course, rice. I always enjoy going to this group of restaurants because their service is always fast, they are always comfortable, and the food is always fabulous. I finally got in to this fine establishment. Sundays this place is packed.I ordered the south omelet. The meal had a very good presentation and it was very good. I was gonna only give it a 4 star review, however when I asked Julie why there was liquid at the bottom of the omelet, I received a very good explanation. This particular omelet has salsa in it which seeps to the bottom. Thank you for that. The English muffins were evenly coated with Butter. The hash browns were crispy Andcwell cooked. I just found my new go to place for breakfast or lunch. The staff was very courteous and professional. This place may be "clean" but it's absolutely disgusting. Ordered omelettes but the eggs were cold and the add one were cooked separate and then folded into the middle like a sandwich. As a first time customer the manager came off as cocky and rude. How is a first time customer to know that the veggies and meat should be requested to cook with the eggs and not separate? The eggs appeared to pre made with a rubbery texture and reheated. Not fresh at all. Which explains why it was cold. The iced coffee came out too sweet and it still didn't taste right. My stomach hurts from eating the eggs and butter. We did not even get the English muffins the meal was to come with. Got charged an extra 50 cents for blueberries that were supposed to come with the waffle. Over priced and our server had a HUGE SCAB on her hand that was FLAKING. I would rather pay the amount I paid to ORIGINAL BREAKFAST HOUSE than pay this establishment what my total bill was. Hire a cook that can actually cook amazing food and a server that doesn't serve cold food. That server should wear a BAND AID bc that was gross. Dining companion ordered some type of massive burger. Our waitress had a great personality, she was funny and I felt like I had known her for years. My Benedict was picture perfect, something I'd see in a food magazine...but, when I cut into the muffin, ham and eggs a gush of what I thought was egg white ran out but it was water. I assume from the poaching. I would have been ok with it but all of that water made that wonderful, rich hollandaise a thin, watery mess. ~sigh~ This review would have been 4 stars if it wouldn't have been for the flood on my plate. We ordered the hash browns extra crispy and they came barely browned. The burrito itself was nothing exciting and lacked flavor. We ordered a side of biscuits and gravy. The first order we got was so hard, you couldn't even cut the biscuit with a knife or pierce it with a fork. The biscuits were not home made, clearly from a can. (Almost $18 for 2 carafes of coffee). 4 adults and 1 toddler for breakfast ( Hawkeye, biscuits and gravy, jr. pancakes, avocado jack omelette, and some kind of triple something breakfast plate) over $100. My bill was. $15.50 , gave server $20.00. she came back with $4.00. i asked were is my 50 cents. she said I don't carry change. She said I'll try can get some change. she did come back with the 50 cents. and she was not very happy. I approached the manager and explained the situation. He said that don't carry change. I told him the server didn't even tell me about it. He said she should have and he proceeded to same day sometimes the customer loses and sometimes the restaurant does. So what if the bill was 15.24. are they going to keep the change 76 cents. Too me that's STEALING from the customer. Think about this do you want them to steal from you. It's not fancy, but it's good home cooked food that will fill you up. Go for breakfast and plan your next meal to be dinner. The portions are huge -- I could only eat ONE of my California Eggs Benedict and sadly left the other one to go cold. I wanted to eat it, truly I did; it was so good, but I was stuffed! I love coffee, but not the fattening 1/2 n 1/2 cream -- (are people really still putting cream in their coffee???) My only choice at this restaurant, to accompany my coffee, was milk or cream. I really think, with an enormous -- I mean enormous 2 page menu -- you could offer oat milk, almond milk, soy milk, rice milk... some kind of dairy free creamer. I would give them a whole nother' star had they had oat milk on the menu! I mean anyone who wants a "California Eggs Benedict" is surely a qualifying candidant for some other creamer than that which comes from a cow. The bacon was sooo good however! The tomatoes were really crisp and fresh. Our server - Jannie #993, was just so sweet, effecient and lovely! I thought this restaurant was very lucky to have her as she was super attentive and prompt. She deserves 5 stars! I am such a dummy to not have taken pictures of the food. It was really beautiful.
