So happy we finally tried Ubon Thai because it is our new go to! Staff was super friendly and the food was perfect. The restaurant was very clean with all safety precautions in place. Our favorites were the Curry Fried Wonton, Yellow Curry w chicken and black rice, Pad Thai w tofu, and the Thai iced coffee. We loved everything we ordered and will definitely be expanding to try more of the menu. Definitely recommend trying them if you haven't already! read more

This is my favorite place to go when I'm feeling a bit homesick for real Thai food. Though Torrance has a lot of options when it comes to different cultures, Ubon Thai Kitchen has the most authentic Thai food you will find. Rad Na is my go to when going here; The taste is so amazing and reminds me of home. For those who don't know the dish it is flat noodles and vegetables mixed with a sort of gravy like sauce, but when Ubon gives it to you, the sauce will come on the side to avoid ruining the noodles before they get a chance to hit your tongue! Food is delicious, prices are very reasonable and they d delivery for free! Ordered delivery recently for a lunch meeting and it was a very good decision. We got several of the lunch special combos to share and everything was packaged well and tasted delicious. Very authentic Thai food! We ordered one entree per person and had a ton of left over, so portion size is good. They also gave us utensils and paper plates free of charge which is really nice, and they also delivered for free! I did give a pretty big tip. Overall nice experience. Food here is delicious! My husband ordered the Large Beef Boat Noodle soup- the broth had lots of flavor, lots of pieces of beef, some meatballs and some green vegetables. He choose flat noodles. Customer service was great, the servers are kind and respectful, recommended great dishes- for example we ordered the Tom yum soup and switched out the noodles for rice noodles, very delicious! The duck curry was probably my favorite, very flavorful and delicious! Rice has a good texture too, not too soft or hard. Chinese broccoli and pork was tasty except the pork is deeply fried/ crispy which I didn't mind but normally I like my pork soft and chewy but I think it goes well with the dish since the broccoli has a softer texture. Also when you check in you get a free coffee/ Thai tea! The only downside is the washroom, you have to go through the kitchen in the back and so there's one bathroom for the entire restaurant = wait awhile if people are using it. On a scale of 1-Howlin (10) it was a 5/10 Taste 3.5/5 I wouldn't necessarily call it a salad, but it was delicious. A generous amount of well done steak cut into strips, cucumbers, mint thank leaves, cilantro, chunks of iceberg lettuce, lemongrass, tomatoes and carrots are tossed together with a delicious spicy lime dressing. Oh and lots of red pepper flakes :) While the flavors shined, the steak itself was cold and overcooked. And maybe my spice tolerance is high, but I was expecting spicier (given Thai food is normally unbearably spicy). I wasn't in the mood for curry this time, but I'll definitely try it next time. Loved our meal from here. We ordered the chicken pad Thai, the chicken Kee mao, and the Thai tea. The pad Thai is delicious, one of my favorites. We expected the kee mao to be spicier. I'm a long time customer but i had a very bad experience today in which my food was taking forever to come out, when I went to the counter to check my order I noticed that they haven't even started my meal, I forgot to mention my fiancé got his meal at least 15minutes before i went up to check the status of my order. Also we noticed customers coming in, finding a table and then leaving after not getting any service. I understand it was busy but they are usually on point and quick with orders, it seemed they were crushed by take out orders and maybe this caused them to stall on the patrons in the restaurant. It's disappointing because we go to Ubon on the regular and never had a problem. My fiancé ate his food while I sat there staring towards the kitchen, it was suppose to be a nice dinner with my other half but the lag in service kinda messed up the vibe. Visited this place the other day while searching the plaza for something to eat. For some reason this place doesn't show up when I search for Thai food on yelp. I came in around 2PM so it wasn't particularly busy. It's not a very big place, but not super tiny. The menu has a good selection of dishes, and also has lunch specials that include a spring roll, salad and rice (unless your order noodles-then no rice.) To my delight pretty much everything was under $10. I had been looking for a less expensive Thai place for a while. I ordered the coconut milk soup with chicken (I don't remember the Thai name), and my boyfriend had the drunken noodles (pad kee mao) lunch combo. They were both delicious! The soup was served in a big metal bowl with a little flame underneath. They provided two little bowls so we could share. The portions are very generous for the price. We had leftovers of both dishes. The service was also great-were very polite and quick. Our water cups were also never left empty. I was happy to see the bill come out to be around $20 for the two dishes + a side of rice and enough food to have lunch the next day. This place is a gem.
