Damaged my PS5 during service and refused responsibility. I brought my fully working PlayStation 5 to this shop on 14503 Sherman Way, Van Nuys for diagnostics. The console ran perfectly for 30-40 minutes at a time before service. This was noted when I dropped it off. After their technician opened it, the console was returned in worse condition: - The heatsink was detached and loose, - The console shuts down in under 5 minutes, - There were scratches on internal parts, - The console had never been opened before, so all damage happened here. When I brought this up, the employee said on camera "this is your problem now" and threatened to call the police unless I immediately left because he "had to go home." I documented everything with photos and video. I've filed a complaint and am pursuing legal action. Avoid this place at all costs. Completely unprofessional and irresponsible. read more

AT&T recommended us to take our iPhones to this location for a battery replacement. Customer service was the worst. The guy was completely rude when we asked simple questions (how long was the process going to take, would it be better if we came back early the following day, etc). I brought in my iPad because it wasn't charging. I was told that I needed close to $300 in repairs, and if my screen broke during the repair, I would need to pay for that as well at a cost of $250. I went to the Apple store for a second opinion, and you can imagine my surprise when after they rebooted the device, everything was working perfectly and all of the diagnostics checked out. You would think that the "tech" here would have known that -- or perhaps he just wanted to earn his commission by charging me for a full repair and then just rebooting the device. Sounds a bit shady to me. I highly recommend avoiding these type of places and just going straight to your local Apple store. read more

Took my phone in to replace a black glass panel that was severely cracked. William was very helpful in telling me about their replacement service, let me choose the new panel, and color matched it. Even when I was informed the process would take longer than expected (due to my phone type), William was apologetic and understanding. He updated me about the status of my phone and how long it could take. Luckily, my phone was ready by the next day and I was able to pick it up at my earliest convenience. I scheduled my appointment a week ago and left a description of the problem, then they waited until the day of my appointment when I arrived in the store to tell me they couldn't fix my type of device (Beats Headphones). I had to drive all the way to this location because the Pasadena location disappointed me very much, they received a one-star review because it felt like they didn't want to help me at all. So I came in because my Pixel 4a wasn't working on Wi-Fi or over data...the nice gentleman helped me and did not turn me away at all, he agreed that I should bring it here because Google customer service told me to bring it to one of their approved stores. They determined that I needed a new motherboard. My phone repair was completed the next day, I picked up the phone the next day. Avoid this location! The Van Nuys location. I have a phone that samsung told me to bring to ubreakifix and they will fix it under the warrantee. I went there on a sunday afternoon, they told me they were closing soon, bring it back earlier in the day and they would repair it. I brought it back the next day and they said it was physical damage and they would not fix it. I drove 40 minutes each way 2 times and my phone was still not fixed. There was a problem with the charging port. The charging port overheated and melted from the inside. I did not drop it. The damage was caused by the charging port. It was not charging properly. My front facing camera was completely out of focus. I called Samsung and they recommended Ubreakifix. Ubreakifix had to re-flash my system software before any repairs could be authorized. Eric helped me out with the entire process. Compliments for his help and patience letting me know all options. The re-flash did not fix the focus issue. I thought I was going to be out of a phone for over two weeks by sending it to Samsung. Eric asked me to wait. He went to the back to see if they had the part. Yes! They saved me being without my phone for two weeks. Great relief. I went in the following day and they replaced the entire front of my phone and camera in 4 hours. This place scammed me, be aware!!! I took my phone to have it fixed because it was not charging or turning on. They fixed my phone to make it turn on, but said if I want my FaceID to work it will cost more. I couldn't afford it so I just asked them to fix my phone so I can use it. BTW my phone is an iPhone XS, so its not a really old phone or anything. After I got my phone after they were done "fixing" it (making my FaceID not work) they warned me that my screen might turn off or go black, but if that happens they said bring the phone back and "we will fix it", I have a 90 day warranty. Fast forward a month, my phones screen turns off. I take it in to have it fixed and while I was in the store, they diagnosed my phone, and told me, "its going to be a warranty fix, therefore, there will be no charge". They gave me a receipt proving this info, it shows in the receipt it's exactly what I just said. I attached a the photo of the receipt for you to view and verify. I get a call an hour later I leave the store, and they started trying to scam me again, like how they made my FaceID not work. This time they said I have to pay $189.00 plus tax for them to fix it; then offered a discount to $180.00 total out the door. This is completely unacceptable!; this is not what was discussed when I initially took my phone to have it fixed or the second time when they gave me the receipt saying its a warranty repair. My phone having a black screen was not even an issue with my phone until they "fixed" it and warned me that this is going to happen. Take your device somewhere else for repairs. I brought an iphone 13 for front and back repairs for about $500 in December. When I come to pick it up I learned they didn't have the flash installed in the phone because they were out. Fast forward to now, and the phone back breaks because of an amatuer inital repair job, the guy wants to charge me another $500 to repair the front and back. The phone did not fall. There isn't an indication of an impact and is cracked in multiple areas. Even considering initially repairing it without flash and a crappy repair job, he quoted me at a discount of $470. Won't be visiting them in their shitty plaza reeking of weed again. read more

Short version: RED FLAG. On 01/07, A rep here told me passcode is needed to replace a broken screen. Corporate and his co-worker, Alex, said it's not required. Alex told me to bring my business elsewhere, so I will. Called corporate escalation department 1/8 and UBreakIFix Northridge, they too confirmed passcode is not required to fix a broken screen for my phone. I also suggest people to go to the Northridge store (corporate), not this one (Franchise). Long version: I have a preferred care coverage from Google for my Google Pixel 6 pro. Unfortunately, UbreakIFix is their only outside vendor. I looked at their website and it says most repairs can be done in under 2 hours, they even say they can fix screen in 45 minutes. I contacted this store today (01/07) in the afternoon and spoke with a guy. He said it'll take 2-4 hours and that's because I have a priority due to my coverage with Google. I asked what's the wait time if I didn't have the coverage? He said the same 2-4 hours. So, what is the "priority" here? I said ok, I'll make an appointment then. He said it would still be 2-4 hours. So, what is the point of making an appointment? He also told me they need to have my passcode in order to fix my screen. He said they need to get into my phone. FOR BROKEN SCREEN. I have cracked my phone screens so many times before and gone to many other professional stores. Not once did I ever have to give anyone my passcode. Not once it was ever a requirement. Apple didn't even ask me for my passcode when they fixed my iphone. I called UbreakIFix corporate, they said passcode is not required for broken screen. So, I called the store again. Spoke with a guy named "Alex" and informed him of my previous conversation. Right away, he was condescending and rude. BUT Alex himself confirmed passcode is not required. So, why did the first guy ask for my passcode? He told me this is a franchise store, not corporate (not sure how this is relevant as they are using the brand UBreakiFix), that I was arguing "semantics" and what we see on the website is not accurate. So.. false advertising? When I asked Alex if I could get the name of the previous guy. He said no and told me to go elsewhere. As most people here, we have a lot of private info in our phone nowadays. A guy at this store needs a customer's passcode or to go into our phone when it's not required is a HUGE red flag to me. Obviously, I will follow Alex's suggestion and bring my business elsewhere read more

I didn't feel like spending over $300 at Best Buy fixing up my charging port for an iPhone 8 so here I went to uBreakiFix. Alex is really kind, he said it'll be about $100 to fix up the port and it should take about 1-2 hours to get it fixed. Great! So I went to sit down at Starbucks only to then have Alex contact me through email saying 'Oh, we're all out of charging ports and the one we put on is defective so you're gonna have to wait an hour or two longer to go pick it up, sorry for the inconvenience.' My first thought was '...Seriously? I went through all this trouble only to receive this kind of message? I was supposed to have gone and picked it up in over 20 minutes if all went well. But noooo, because somehow the new port they put in was defective and they're all out but a new shipment is coming in later in the day, I'll have to wait an hour or two later than what they said to go pick it up.' However, this location's staff really took me by surprise, and Eduardo went through on his word as well as Alex that everything was fine and that it was getting fixed. Called days in advance and inquired about a screen repair. I spoke to two different techs and scheduled the appointment. I show up today at 6pm and get informed that my appointment is not in their system by the manager. To which i show him the email showing I had an appointment. He then proceeds to say that he cannot guarantee that my phone would be fixed today as it can take up to two hours. I inquired why none of this information was not relayed to me when i called to inquire days ago, so i could schedule an earlier appointment. He said it is what it is. Update: isn't this funny...just got an email saying i missed my appointment. Guess i really did have one. First of all, as a manager you should admit your team made a mistake. Not only with misplacing or deleting my appointment slot, but also failing to communicate time frames. His smug belittling attitude and lack of recognition for their own mistakes is unacceptable. Best believe i informed him as a manager he lacks the customer service skills necessary to deal with customers. If i was the owner of this place I'd train your manager and your techs not only about professionalism but communication skills. Worst customer service. I arrived at 4:00pm to pick up my phone from screen repair (because they told me it would be ready by 4pm) and front desk guy tells me it will be ready in another 20 minutes and that he would give me a call to come pick it up. I waited outside in a car (mind you it's 95 degrees outside) and its now 5 pm and this dude hasnt even called or texted me yet. I call him again at around 4:40pm and he tells me it's ready and instead of asking me to come inside to pay and pick up my phone...I have to wait in a line OUTSIDE!! What the fk is the point of coming on time to check if in the end I have to wait like everyone else. COVID or not, learn to prioritize waiting customer for over an hour. There was about 6 to 8 people who just arrived around 4:50 to stand in line...so I had to wait all the way at the back. Even worse, when I dropped off my phone I was quoted $236.39 including tax (which I signed off on) and when I showed up to pick it up, they told me they quoted me wrong and it was actually $258.61 with tax.
