Daniel, the owner is one of the nicest and kindest people that always welcomes us with a smile. I have a labradoodle that is 2 years old. He has been suffering from ear infection since he was a puppy. We were at the Vets every 8 weeks. Since I started bringing my dog to UC Barkley, my dog hasn't had one ear infection. It has been over 6 months now that he has been getting groomed there. Daniel always listens to how I want my dog groomed . He does an amazing job and he's super fast too! My dogs leaves happy and I do too! I am so happy to have found this place.

Never bringing my dogs here again Unfortunately, I didn't see the other Pomeranian review from 3 months ago to show me that this place has no idea what to do with long haired dogs. All they do here is shave dogs apparently. I have two pomskys and they are basically mini huskies with very full coats. Brought my dogs here for a trim and now all of their hair is gone. When I came to pick them up the guy said he'd never actually seen a pomsky before and then he brought out my shaved pups. I don't think this is an excuse for shaving their entire coat. I literally felt sick to my stomach when I saw them. And it's not even a consistent cut. It's uneven and some long hairs still around their ears. I had seen other pics of fluffy dogs on here before and they looked cute so I thought they knew what they were doing but they absolutely do not. An expensive lesson learned, but won't be making the same mistake again.

Dnaiel and his staff did an absolute fabulous job on our Luna. We were very nervous since it was his first grooming at a place. Luna is a 3 year old Mini Golden Doodle who needed a good shaping since it became too difficult to do it ourselves. Daniel and the lady that was there (forgot her name...sorry!) treated Luna just like his own and we look forward to Luna's next grooming and boarding. We highly recommend this shop and we believe you will be highly satisfied with the price and the exceptional service and care of your pet! Keep up the amazing job! Thank you!!

My mom found UCbarkley maybe 2 years ago or so and we are ALWAYS happy with their service. The owner, Daniel, is considerate on how I like my Coco groomed. Gone to others and they always leave her too long. He makes sure our babies are up to date on their vaccines so they can have play time instead of being in a kennel after they're done with their appointment. She always has a big smile on her face after coming back. They take cash only but it keeps the fees low. Would recommend over and over again! Thank you UC Barkley!

My girl had her first day of grooming school with the amazing Daniel!! Thank you so much for the best service and cutest cut ever!! She was so happy with her spa treatment. Daniel and his wife make the best team! I have no idea what they did but her fur is softer than it's ever been and she smells amazing! This was her first time with other pups as she is fully vaccinated and they updated me to let me know how she did. Will def be back for future and all cuts and grooming!

I brought my dog, Pepper, to get a bath and brush. Most places charge 60-80 bucks for a 30 pound dog. At that price point, I'd rather do it myself. We paid 35 bucks, which was totally worth it. They threw in a trim around the eyes for free. If they keep it at this price point, I'll definitely keep going. We went to lunch and came back with a clean fluffy dog. The owners are a cute husband/wife couple (I assume) and they are very friendly. They gave an eta of 30 minutes. We had lunch plans so we asked if we could pick her up in 2 hours. They called us back at the hour mark. We were still at lunch and they happily held onto her. Apparently, they also took some pictures of her too! Highly recommended!

We have taken our goldendoodle to UC Barkley for grooming twice. Both grooming sessions have resulted in great haircuts. In past haircuts, our goldendoodle's face comes out a bit off, but Daniel trims our dog's face nice and clean. I like how clean our dog looks after he is groomed here. We have taken our dog to a few other grooming salons, but we are going to continue coming here.

He cut off her beautiful neck/chest hair. You don't do this on this type of hair.

I can't even.. I don't think this person had any idea what to do with a golden retriever? If they'd just been upfront about that, I wouldn't be leaving this review. We even gave him direction / told him we don't even really "cut" her hair so much as trim it up so that it's not scraggly. He must have cut off 9+ inches around her chest/neck, where she has (had) beautiful showdog hair. He shaped it short like you would on a curly hair dog like a poodle or something. The result on a wavy long-hair dog is a lumpy mess. The tail is also half gone, which is also something you just shouldn't do. It will take almost a year to grow her tail back. We've taken her to numerous groomers over the years but never had a problem like this. This might be a nice place to take your bichon frise or poodle. Don't take your golden retriever. Leaving 2 stars instead of 1 just because they were nice.

Our doodle is very hard to care of yet they did a great job. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a great experience for their pets and their selves!

We just moved to the neighborhood and we found this little gem. Plenty of parking in the plaza, next to 7 eleven. Daniel took great care of my puppy and she looks and smells so clean afterwards. Parcy was really happy and I cant wait to bring my puppy back for her grooming appointment again. Even when she made her mean face she still looks so cute due to the grooming. Highly recommend UC Barkley for grooming :) Thank you Daniel.

The grooming job was great, a little choppy but still cute. I've been looking for a place to clip Winstons front nails for so long, since he never lets me do it and I'm too nervous to clip them anyway. Plus, quarantine only makes finding grooming places even harder. There are so many services that come with the bath/grooming, it's really worth it! I also love that they sent pictures of Winston having fun to me after grooming. We'll be coming back! read more

Daniel and his staff did such a great job with my maltipoo! She had so many mats because I hadn't been able to take her to the groomer's due to the lockdown. I am really happy to find this place for my dog. The owner couple always welcome us whenever we call them or we come to the shop. My dog always lick her leg and paws obsessively due to some itch after grooming. This stopped after I send my dog to UC Barkley. I am very happy and am more than 100% satisfied with their grooming and care for my dog!! They know what I want for my dog and they know how to care and love dogs. I really recommend UC Barkley to my friends and anyone looking grooming and a pet hotel!!! read more

I've been here a few times already and I came back here to save their number on my phone. I started scrolling down and saw some mean reviews and in my head, I'm like "oh hell no!"This place is absolutely amazing! I love bringing my little angel here. He is always so happy and his haircuts are extra amazing and well groomed. Daniel is such a sweetheart always happy to assist! Daniel is aweeeesome. I'm a loyal customer to Uc Barkley now. I've always been told that my dog is VERY wiggly. Of course no places will say he's difficult but I know he is. I've taken him to chain shops and private owned groomers on the east coast and west coast. No ones been able to grind his nails. But! Daniel did it. Daniels groom job is superb. He doesn't just cut it body length and face length. He also does styling, as an cutting face legs and body diff lengths! Super happy with Daniel. Thank you so much read more

I'm very glad to have tried UC Barkley to fix the terrible groom job from another groomer on my goldendoodle. I like my dog shaved really short all over because she's an F1 and sheds quite a bit. Even though I ask for a short cut on her face and tail, groomers tend to always leave her face and tail long, but Daniel cleaned her up SO well and gave her exactly what I asked for. It's clear he treated her well too because she came out of his shop still demonstrating tons of affection towards him after her groom. His prices are about $20-30 more than Petco/Petsmart but the quality and experience is worth the slight premium. read more

I was able to schedule a grooming appointment with Daniel right away for the very next day. He was so accommodating and asked me specifics of how I wanted Bruno groomed. He and his wife run the place. Bruno was so happy when I picked him up and I'm very happy with his haircut. Ears and nails were clean and perfect. I will be back! read more

Is your dog a "people-dog" or a "dog-dog"? My 80 lb. furbaby loves being around people and I've found the perfect place for both kinds of pets. Daniel, the owner, clearly loves animals. And he has a great deal of respect for their owners, too. The first day I took my dog in, I received several text updates on how things were going -- including a photo of her going out for a walk with him to enjoy the sunshine and take care of her "business ". I was nervous leaving her at a new doggie day care but the price was right and the location was convenient, so I'm glad I gave them a try. The individual kennels have a soft place for the dog to lay down with plenty of room, even for my oversized canine. And their water bowls are checked frequently to ensure hydration. There's even a playroom for the puppers to get to know one another, or to spend some time playing with a staff member. UC Barkley deserves every one of the five stars I've given them. The atmosphere doesn't feel like a business; it feels like a safe place to bring your cat or dog, with folks who genuinely, honestly care about the animals' happiness and well-being. read more

Uc Barkley is a great find! I have had Daniel groom my Belgian Shepherd a few times and even had her boarded with him. She comes out clean & happy. He provides detailed reports for any boarding stay! I recently adopted a rescue and today he had his first ever grooming service (~2 hrs). I called yesterday and was able to get an appointment the next day. Pablo (Lhasapoo mix) came out looking very handsome and happy! Very impressed by Daniel's professionalism. His grooming salon was well maintained - practically spotless. His website/ online booking system is clear and very easy to use. I believe this salon/ doggy daycare recently opened up in March & I definitely recommend it to anyone in the Orange County surrounding areas. read more

UC Barkley does an amazing job with our dog Bella! Every time she comes home so happy and beautiful. She is a hard dog to groom being half Pyrenees and half Golden Doodle. Yesterday she had a bath only and was done and beautifully dried in about an hour! I have never had her ready in under two hours anywhere else. The owner is so nice and is very caring with the dogs! I have used many groomers in the area and this one by far is the best price for the quality service you get. read more

I took my 10 mos. old Westie puppy, Fergus, to get the full treatment and we were extremely happy with the result. Daniel was super courteous, professional, and most of all, he understand our dog breed. First of all, Daniel was prompt with the quote (literally within minutes of my request). He was thorough and explained carefully of the service. Daniel showed a genuine love for the dog and very passionate with his work. Overall, I was impressed with the cleanliness and orderly of the whole establishment. Compare to my previous groomer, I'm extremely happy with the service from UC Barkley. I highly recommend Daniel for his great service. I'll definitely bring Fergus back in the future. Daniel is very good at what he does and seems to really love dogs. Our dog can be difficult at times for groomers, however, Daniel has never had any issues. When I asked what he does, he said you need to give him love. Would recommend for sure. read more

The man at the front desk was rude. I was not allowed to take a tour of the day care area, there are no cameras to check on my dog throughout the day, and I was asked to take my dog home when I asked to see how she would respond to day care before I left. I did not receive reassurance that this was a safe place to leave my dog. I was told that he was the only person working and he could not provide sufficient supervision to monitor my dog even though I had made a reservation several days prior. read more

Daniel is very kind and patient. My maltipoo, Joey, was very happy when he left UC Barkley. Joey had lots of matted hair but Daniel got them all out. Joey was very shaggy but when he came out, he looked so different. I was surprised at first since he looked so different than his usual look but later when I was closer to Joey, I can see that he got a very professional clean and cut. He looks like a show dog now. I brought my Lhasa Apso in for a full groom during the Coronovirus without any knowledge of this place or Daniel. She needed a groom now for 4 wks and I was about to tackle it myself when I found UC Barkley and Daniel. I dropped her off being told to come back in 3 hrs. As a trusting person I handed her to him. I recently moved up here and left our groomer of the last 2+ years. Unfortunately she had to cancel our appointment just before moving. We were desperate for an appointment called a few places either closed or just didn't feel right. My husband found Daniel's place(UC Barkley)and he gave me the number, when I called he was so sweet and had an appointment very quickly for us. Our Malitpoo is very anxious usually and has anxiety during her grooming trip. When Daniel came out to the car( protocol for Covid19) she immediately liked him very unusual for me to see her not shaking and at ease. He took her and she was fine. I was so pleased with the results especially as a first time client. His pricing is exactly what I had been paying but the result are so much better. My dog seems so less stressed & much better looking.I can't be happier with our new groomer. DANIEL is one of the nicest people I have ever met and our dog is so beautiful and happy! We just got her done again today after 5 weeks from our first visit and she looks even better than the last time. Thank you Daniel we are so happy! read more

I know she was in great paws with Dr. Reagan, he's the best, very kind and a great vet and I'm sure a great kind soul for animals, he has a calm demeanor, all the vet techs are fabulous and sweet, front staff is always fantastic. They do bloodwork and pre screens, X-rays (if necessary and only with your consent beforehand) to make sure your baby is healthy enough for anesthesia. . I'm very pleased with the staff there. If you're debating yes or no getting your cat's teeth cleaned, please do yes, just like humans it is absolutely necessary for their long term health. My baby is back to her diva self doing Mach 5 midnight zoomies and walking around like she owns the joint (she does, my family and I are just acceptable staff). The appointment which typically takes 2-3 hours ended up taking 1.5 hours. They request payment and tip before they bring you your pet. I had some feedback that I shared with the manager and they reassured me that they care deeply about the salon and grooming service so I know they're working on improvements. They were happy to take my dog back to another cleaning, but I didn't have the time. I appreciate the time and effort the manager took to call and chat about my feedback.

He takes the time to understand their individual needs and treats them with such patience and care. With George's recovery and Waldo's anxiety, that extra attentiveness means everything to us. It's clear Ian truly loves what he does, and it shows in the way our pups light up when they see him. We keep coming back because of Ian and the way he treats George and Waldo. I found Jessica through a google search which led me to her yelp page, once I found out more about the services she offered on her site, and that she was nearby I reached out for a quote via yelp. She was very responsive, was able to fit me in within a few days, very straight forward and notified me of what to expect and arriving before the appt to complete paperwork & review the groom service. I took Lucky in this morning, was greeted immediately, checked in and after Jessica assessed Lucky's condition she notified me that he had very matted fur and what she could do/not do depending on the severity of the fur once she started with the grooming, and what to expect from the groom. I like that she thoroughly informed me of the situation, what my options were and that it would cost more due to the added work to de-matt him and the sensitivities that lucky could experience so she would have to be even more meticulous with the grooming. I picked him up in 2.5 hours and she went though how he needed to be shaven all around because of how matted his fur was, where he could experience irritation (what else to expect) and if I need to take him to the vet due to further irritation because of the condition of his skin from the matted fur. Overall I was floored by her knowledge but also very personable nature (something I have not experienced with a previous groomer). I'm so much more informed (as I had inherited lucky and am a new pet owner, so still learning). She even honored the price she had originally quoted me at which I thought was extremely generous given the nature of the groom. I can't wait to have lucky come back to be groomed and well taken care of by Jessica!

He never heard back from me. Then I found Jessica here. She was sweet & understanding. She came to our place & worked with Enzo for one session first. Where he already improved a-lot! Then she told us he may only need 4 more sessions! She thought us hands on how to work with Enzo, step by step. & he is improving everyday. She is knowledgeable, sweet & a true pack leader. I am so happy that she is teaching us so much we can apply to any dog.

I was checking the place out and it makes sense to ask to see the place in the morning since the dogs are more clam and the employees have more time. The "hole" was actually their drain system that gets opened up for cleaning time after all the dogs go into their rooms. And I myself witnessed the big dogs enjoy playing rough with the kids play slide that they have in their daycare so obviously it will be torn off a bit. But there was not plastic pieces laying around so it safe to say that the toy is strong enough for the dogs. The smell was honestly not that bad. I mean they take care of all animals , so a little common sense would tell you that it will smell like animals. And I can re assure that all the occupied rooms had bedding and water. The lady answer all my questions and made me feel comfortable with leaving my dogs. The place is small and there isn't much to it but it feels homie. They send pictures every day. Also the owner and staff reply really fast and there's good communication. For pet owners that just need simple and chill care this place is for them. Also loved how straight forward and chill the workers are.

"Snowball & Cinnamon" , my 2 babies are both rescue dogs and have struggled with anxiety for as long as we've had them. Because of this, leaving them at a boarding facility has always been a stressful experience--not only for them, but for us as well. In the past, whenever we used other pet hotels, they would often develop stress-related diarrhea within a day or two, lose their appetite, or come home looking exhausted and overwhelmed. When we picked them up, they would usually have their tails tucked between their legs, smell strongly of urine, and seem relieved just to leave. When we first brought them to UC Barkley Pet Hotel, we honestly expected it to be similar to other daycare and boarding facilities we had used before. However, our experience was completely different from the very beginning. The staff and owner took the time to understand each dog's personality, needs, and comfort level. It was clear that they genuinely cared about helping our dogs feel safe and secure during their stay. The biggest surprise came on pickup day. Instead of running straight to the door and wanting to leave, our dogs came running toward us with their tails wagging and excitement in their eyes. In fact, they seemed more interested in continuing to play with their new friends than going home. As dog owners, that reaction alone told us everything we needed to know about the quality of care they received. We also took advantage of the grooming services while they were boarding. Unlike many facilities where dogs come home smelling unpleasant or looking tired, our dogs came back freshly groomed, clean, happy, and healthier-looking than when we dropped them off. Most importantly, they showed none of the stress-related symptoms that we had experienced after previous boarding stays. Another aspect we truly appreciated was the communication. The owner personally oversees the dogs and provides prompt updates by phone or email whenever there is a change or something worth noting. As pet parents, having that level of communication and transparency gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. What stands out most about UC Barkley Pet Hotel is that the people here clearly love animals and take pride in what they do. Their care feels personal rather than transactional. Throughout our dogs' stay, we felt as though they were being treated as members of an extended family rather than simply boarding clients. As customers who have used multiple boarding facilities over the years, we can honestly say that our satisfaction with UC Barkley Pet Hotel has been exceptionally high. Finding a place where our anxious rescue dogs are genuinely comfortable, happy, and well cared for is something we never thought possible. We wholeheartedly recommend UC Barkley Pet Hotel to any dog owner looking for a trustworthy, professional, and compassionate boarding experience.
