Overall, the desserts were pretty good. We wanted to try everything and definitely ordered too much, lol! The mango pomelo sago with tofu was refreshing and delicious. The mochi rice balls with sesame paste and black sticky rice were also great. The Taro Balls No. 5 was good as well. I swapped the taro mud for sweet potato mud and added a side of black sticky rice. I also tried the coconut pudding, but it wasn't my favorite. Coconut lovers would probably enjoy it more; it was just a bit too creamy for me. The restaurant was bright, not too big, but comfortable. Service was good, and the staff were very nice and accommodating, especially with my customization request.

Craving asian dessert? Their menu is huge and has so many options that I had such a hard time deciding what to get. Not only that, but they also have drinks, bowls and much more! Came here with a group of people and we got an assortment of items - Milk Custard hot - Yes it sounds strange, but I really enjoyed it. Has a slight smell of egg whites and even the texture hahah but its sweet and delicious - Original Egg Puff - very delicious and great to pair it with a warm item. - Taro bowls - they have many options and they were very good and very filling Overall food was good and the price is great. So why not 5/5 stars? FOOD INSPECTION!!! When we were there they had a Conditional Pass on the window and while there we did observe some things that could be considered not sanitary. After doing some research this is NOT their first time in this situation. With that said I don't mind BUT all food places should be sanitary.

Great spot for a HUGE variety of Chinese desserts in Oakland Chinatown. My friend and I stopped by for a quick sweet bite after grabbing dinner nearby. The store was maybe half full when we came Friday evening around 6 pm, but by the time we left it was fully packed. Seems to be a popular hang out spot for the local kids and families. Honestly the menu has almost too many options for dessert. We both spent a good 10+ minutes flipping through all the pages before finally deciding on what we wanted. It was quite overwhelming. I finally settled on the sesame paste and walnut paste ($7.25) while my friend got the mango pomelo coconut pudding ($5.50). The pudding came out quickly because it's premade in the jar, but my paste took a while, maybe 10-15 minutes. I love sesame paste and wanted to try walnut paste. I didn't like the walnut paste, but I'm glad I tried it at least. The black sesame paste was delicious! My friend enjoyed his coconut pudding but thought it was pricy for what it was.

My review is of just their egg puff since I have yet to try their boba. There is space for around 20 people to sit in the dessert place, but most people seemed to get their food to-go in the time that I was waiting there. I ordered their normal egg puff, and they made it fresh right in front of me. The portion size made sense with the price, and I enjoyed the texture of the puff along with the sweetness. Because it was fresh, the egg puff was slightly crumbly, but only breaking by the different puffs. I'd love to try their boba in their future since they are also know for their drinks.

UC Dessert is in Oakland Chinatown on 9th Street between Webster and Frankin, on the outer block of the Pacific Renaissance Plaza. It's not a huge space but has some setting and is a good place for traditional hot and cold Chinese desserts. When I've gone I've ordered some of the cold desserts, Chinese shaved ice (bing su) or their cold mango dessert. They have Chinese dessert soups which are good and not too sweet. They have cakes on their menu but I've never tried those. My wife and I also like their egg puffs, which are made using a waffle-like machine but also uses a different batter. When I've been the service has been pretty good. Check them out!

Yum! The food was great and the drinks were delicious! We ordered diced mango, which was also amazing. The mochi rice balls had the perfect texture. The located has nice decorations and service was nice.

Their dessert selection was delightful, offering a great variety of flavors and textures. The seating area is cozy, accommodating about four to five groups of four to six guests, which adds to the intimate atmosphere. The staff member who served us was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. I especially loved the durian with ice cream and coconut base rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. It's a wonderful spot to enjoy an evening dessert after dinner. Parking is convenient, with options available in the plaza or along the street. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to satisfy their sweet cravings in a relaxed setting.

Went here on a Friday night and it was crowded but we were able to get a spot in the booth! There are 4/5 booths and two high chairs for seating. They have a ton of desserts options. My friends and I ordered the matcha mochi egg puff & mochi rice ball with sesame paste. You should eat the mochi rice ball with sesame paste right away because it will still be warm. Both desserts were good and service was good as well! I would come back here! There's only street parking here too.

Good fast dessert in Oakland Chinatown. Paid parking in the front. About 7 tables to sit and relax with dessert. Decent prices. Dessert is good and the eggpuffs hit the spot. Good service, very quick. Good option for dessert after dinner.

I tried InjeoImi Bingsoo (shaved ice Korean style)and it was good not too sweet a good combination of ingredients. The house milk tea (UC Milk Tea) that has good flavorKind service and seating capacity. Large menu with abundant deserts with various flavors. The small restaurant provides amenities like ac, bathroom, and wall plug, clean tables. I'll be sure to be back to broaden my tastebuds!

The moment you walk into the shop, you'll notice the current flavor offerings displayed on colorful ice cream-shaped signs across the wall to the right. I could spend an eternity studying each flavor, but there's limited space to queue indoors so really gotta decide on a flavor and serving style fast in order to keep the line moving. Among the flavors were some classics, fruity/floral mixes, and dessert-inspired ones too, a whole range so there's something for everyone. I got the Breakfast Brownie and it was unforgettable! It tasted creamy and delightful without being overwhelming, while the cornflakes mixed inside added a satisfying crunch to each bite. I came back a second time before a show at Crybaby, a smaller venue across the street. Grabbing a scoop here to-go has naturally become part of my pre-concert routine at this point and I plan to come back again next time to explore more flavors. If you're ever heading to a show nearby, I'd definitely recommend stopping by beforehand for a lil energy boost and treat.

Also, whoever they have making their flavors is super creative! They list out all the flavors on the wall on super cute little ice cream scoop cut outs for you to browse while you wait in line. It is definitely more of a takeout ice cream spot with not a ton of seating so you either gotta get lucky with seating, wait for a spot, or take it to go. We got the pandan strawberry and the milk & cookies + cream. Next time I stop by I really want to try out their sundae!

I was surprised that no one spoke of business specifics in their reviews. There is a limit to how many can come in; and you are not allowed to touch anything when inside. There are also no prices listed anywhere. We thought this was odd. Our order: * Personal Peach Cobbler * Walnut Brownie * Banana Pudding For these 3 items, our total was over $25. The service was friendly but a bit awkward. You are only able to see cases of dessert options, it is more of a pick-up point, not so much a bakery location you can browse. I wouldn't suggest coming as a large group, there is no where to sit to enjoy your baked goods and parking is very difficult. While the cobbler and banana pudding were good, I wasn't a fan of the brownie. My partner enjoyed the cobbler a lot, but when we did the calculations, the prices were astronomical. I'm not sure what gourmet difference the items contained, but we likely would not come back to this bakery considering prices and parking. The location is cute, in theory, but with no actual location or displays, or price lists- what you pay for doesn't balance out. The lack of transparency for prices was very sus to us. I'm sure the business will continue on especially with how much they charged. I can't imagine the bakery location and building rent costing a lot as far as operating costs; as it is small, and not expansive at all. The price of the baked goods doesn't even go towards branded packaging. Which could be understandable. The only beverages available that I seen was Nesquik. Steep prices with no justification - especially when you have other bakeries in the area, in addition to Nation's for Pies, very affordable and classic as well. E&J's has a great banana pudding and cobbler as well for $6- they are also a Black-owned business and family operated. Absolutely no bad intent, just wanting to share transparency in my review so Yelpers know that prices are not listed, which means they are subject to fluctuation- in this economy that is not a fair way of doing business. One star per item we liked, for this review. As much signage is visible upon entry regarding rules and limited persons for entry at a time- not one area provided prices; only signs that tell you not to touch. It's required by law for prices at every establishment to be listed, according to SB 478 for general consumer goods and services in California.

Thus my journey with Walter began. One thing about me, is I respect a place that knows flavors. I don't want basic vanilla, give me some weird and strange and flavorful that will tantalize my palette and ignite my senses. Give me salty and sweet. Give me TANG. Give me these things and DONT give me gas. Bad Walters cracked the code. All flavor, real dairy, no lactose, no gas. Each week they have a different batch of flavors, so there's always something new to explore. I didn't give myself any expectations because sometimes food that are trending are overhyped. But these desserts were really good, even the flavors I typically do not prefer. The prices are pretty up there - our order was roughly $110. Was it worth it? Yes. Would I get them again? Only on special occasions. The flavors we got are below (ranked from my personal fave to least fave): 1. Pistachio - I'm probably biased towards this since I always like anything pistachio flavored. 2. Strawberry - A little tart, sweet, and the shell is just so good. 3. Mango - If you're a mango lover, this might be your favorite. I typically do not get mango-flavored desserts, but this one was good. For it to make it to my Top 3 says a lot. 4. Raspberry - I forgot why but I remember liking this lol. 5. Avocado - This one was shocking. I do not like anything avocado-flavored. I was hesitant on trying this but it was actually delicious. Very mellow and creamy. 6. Blueberry - For blueberry fans, this might not be for you. I do not like blueberries but this one was edible enough for me because the blueberry taste was not that strong. 7. Pomegranate - This was pretty bland. It made me think what pomegranate really tasted like because I couldn't really remember from this dessert. 8. Lemon - Most disappointing. There was something odd about its tartness. Not your typical lemon-flavored items. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. You can see the staff work on the dessert behind the counter. The staff assisting us was very patient because we were very indecisive on what to get, but we ultimately got one of everything. I want to emphasize that none of the desserts are bad. My ranking is just based on personal faves and I'm pretty picky. Highly recommend!
