There are maybe five or six tables inside and the place is quite clean with comfortable seating. We were given our menus to order from and the menu is very extensive with tons of options with images for nearly everything which helps a lot in deciding what to get. 3.5 stars, but rounded up to 4 because it's a good option when you want dessert and I probably would come back if I was eating in Oakland Chinatown. I like this place for the variety of hot and cold desserts and the amount of flavor variations they offer for each. Quality wise id say they do everything fine, perhaps not standout in any one option but again, it's your one stop shop for anything you're craving. I liked the matcha mochi egg waffle, nice earthy matcha flavor and the mochi added a fun chewiness to each piece. The milk custard was pretty standard, it was comforting on a cold day. Asian inspired desserts galore! I love this unique spot that was open on lunar new year. This is a popular cafe, so it may be hard to grab a seat, but they have an expansive menu including bingsoo. I tried the injeolmi flavor that reminds me a bit of kinako, which I love the nuttiness! The recommended topping was mixed nuts but I was sharing with me partner with an allergy and they were accommodating with us switching to mango instead. Don't get me wrong the server was very kind, however it was the lack of support from other coworkers and how low of staff they had here. The desserts were honestly mediocre. Besides the fact of us waiting for over 40 minutes to get our order taken, we ended up ordering 3 items for a party of 4. A chocolate waffle with ice cream, a mango sago bingso and a chocolate bingso. The only thing that was great was the waffle and that's why I gave them 2 stars. Came here right when they opened and their boba wasn't ready yet. Ordered a few drinks and got it with their white boba. Their drinks are made with syrup so artificial flavors. Coffees are more on the blend side and sweet so ask for less sugar if you're not a sugar person. Place was pretty empty maybe cause we got there 15 mins after their opening. I got the mango milk custard, priced at less than $6. I never had this before but really enjoyed it. I only had mango pudding before. There was a mango layer above the milk custard, it's very delicious. It wasn't that heavy of a dessert either. While shopping in Oakland Chinatown, i stumbled upon UC Dessert & decided to order a Jasmine Green Tea Boba. It is your average milk tea place with the exception of serving various desserts such as Taiwanese Shaved Ice desserts & street style type snacks. I like the concept of having different combo's like a shaved ice dessert along with curry fish balls & a boba drink. Since I brought it home I didn't have time to take pictures because it was starting to melt! But trust me it was delicious! It came with small mango bites, mango puree, clear small tapioca balls and condensed milk on the side. And already in the shaved ice they had crunchy corn flakes! With all these yummy additions to the soft snowy shaved ice it gave it great flavor, texture and deliciousness! Definitely coming back for more! Most places only have the fresh mango and condensed milk, but this one has so much more! The second time I came, we got the black tea bingsoo. Mango is still my favorite but the black tea is unique. It was more of a bitter tea flavor which is great if you want dessert but not too sweet! The bingsoo itself has the tea flavor in the snow shavings. While the mango is flavorless snow with mango flavored toppings. It comes with almonds already in the bingsoo. And on the side they give you grass jelly, boba and condensed milk. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. There are so many delicious options to choose from and the dishes are all super affordable. The people taking my order were attentive and nice. The menus include high quality photos of the dishes so you know exactly what you're ordering. The place isn't very big but I've never had to wait for a table; it probably just depends on when you go. Dessert: I was craving some crepe cake, so I decided to come here for a slice of Lady M crepe cake. They currently have the Signature flavor, Tiramisu, Green Tea and Pistachio! Pistachio is the newest flavor, so I decided to try it. The cake had many thin layers of crepe with an even amount of cream distributed in between each layer. The pistachio flavored creme was absolutely delicious! It was light and not too sweet. Every bite was divine! Price: It was $13 for one slice. Pleasantly surprised at what a cute hidden gem this dessert cafe is. Tucked away in the heart of Oakland Chinatown, this cafe definitely looks inconspicuous on the outside, but offers such a wide variety of authentic Asian desserts that's comparable in quality and variety (and much cheaper!) compared to similar and larger dessert chains like Black Ball, Sweethoney, Sul n Bean, and Meet Fresh. Here's what I tried: Macaroon egg puff with ice cream: definitely my favorite dessert that I tried, and I loved how warm and freshly made the egg puff was. I definitely wish I could have customized the ice cream and macaroon, but the flavors chosen (vanilla ice cream, coffee macaroon) melded beautifully together with the fresh fruit, frosted cornflakes, and egg puff. Highly recommend getting this if you're unsure what to get from their extensive menu! Mango sago bingsoo: definitely a really unique flavor, as you don't see sago often in the United States. They use quite a bit of fresh mango to make this dessert, but unfortunately, mangoes are not in season right now and this dessert ended up coming across as a bit tasteless. Nevertheless, highly recommend once summer hits and mangoes are ripe/in-season! Lava cake with ice cream: surprised to see such an Americanized dish on the menu, and I definitely was impressed by how warm, gooey, and freshly baked the cake was. I did find this dessert a bit rich for my personal liking, but highly recommend if you're into chocolate! Hubby and I decided on this restaurant for dessert after we finish dinner at another spot nearby. Street parking since it's located in Oakland Chinatown. We came on a Sunday evening so there was plenty of parking spots. It's a small little shop but cozy and a great place to hang out with friends or on a casual date. We were seated immediately. We order the coconut sago milk custard, black sesame paste and walnut paste and original egg puffs. Everything taste delicious and just the right amount of sweetness. The egg puffs were crispy on the outside and had a bouncy texture on the inside. Price was very reasonable. With tax and tip, it was $26. I ordered the black sesame and red bean soup with taro balls and shared the matcha mochi egg puff with some friends. The black sesame flavor wasn't too strong, but I was eager to try it since I never really find just that soup anywhere. The red bean was good, and the taro balls were also nice and chewy. It was good, but nothing too spectacular. I will say though that the matcha egg puffs are a must get. The matcha flavor is so strong, and with the chewy mochi inside made for a great texture and eating experience. The inside isn't too big but we had no problem getting a table since we came at a bit of an odd time.
