Carolina Pina at the Northwest location is very unprofessional and irresponsible. I booked an appointment with her weeks before and directly messaged her for the appointment, only to find out that it was canceled. I lost work hours just to get to that appointment and she did not even do anything to at least make me feel a little better. I was a loyal client to her, and was even advertising her to my friends, colleagues and families. It was a very upsetting and disappointing experience, hopefully, ULTA management will address. read more

Their curbside pick up is a joke. I called 4 times and got a dial tone each time. The 2 cars ahead of me got their orders taken to their car so the worker saw me and chose to ignore me. The worker saw other cars and approached them to ask for their name to get their orders from the store. Yet, they left me out there calling to no avail. The worker never came back out once the cars ahead of me left. I have a strong feeling that if I was white they would have asked to help me. My 5 star review is for William at the salon. He is superb, super attentive, and truly cares about getting to know who is sitting in his chair. I initially only walked in to do a treatment and we got to talking about hair growth so he educated me a little bit about how our ends need a trim and I voiced that I was scared to trim because I didn't want to lose any length. This review update is a must!! Like it really just keeps getting worse...Here's a really important tip people. Do not come here if you REALLY need something they will be out of everything!!! As usual i had my list of things i needed not a huge list btw..they literally only had 2 things in my list and i was lucky to get those and those particular items were open mind you but i needed them asap so i had no choice...i went to the lancôme area and found a perfect purple eyeliner and of course none actually most of the colors were out but you can't see them as they are hidden behind the testers. An employee came up and loudly asked me if i need assistance i told her yes it seems that most of these are out can you please look in the back to see if you have more? She rudely said no everything we have is right there..well there's only room for a few of each so wth do they only order like freaking 5 of each color for an entire city of shoppers and expect that to suffice???? moving on i needed a new contour pallet kept looking and looking every single decent one gone just gone and the same answer i got every time "we don't have anything in the back and we have no idea when more will be in" Wow Just ridiculous...hahaha and the same rude lady once again saw me frustrated and came up and said "having problems again?" i said well it seems every single decent contour pallet is gone. She said well it looks like your gonna have to try the cheaper ones on the other side so she showed me some (Lol NOPE) like i don't want to look like a clown lady all the ones she showed me had tons of glitter and super dark orange shades in them so clearly she has no training in the proper shades for different skin tones...Like that's their job right? i don't want to keep complaining as if i haven't said enough already i could say a lot more but i'll end it here as you can pretty much tell what to expect most of the time. This place always has what I need. The makeup girls are always helpful. One suggestion I would make: They should create some extra room over where they do makeovers for people. Several of the girls were doing make up and I couldn't even get into the aisle to get the one item that I came into the store for. Well, my sweet, talented, and most favorite aesthetician who used to give their Dermalogica facials, and was worth a stellar review, has moved on to bigger and better things. Gotta snatch that 5 star review back. The store itself is just meh. The employees, when you can get one to assist you, have attitudes or don't know crap about the products. I've gone in on multiple occasions (NOT in the time between Black Friday and Christmas) and they've been out of 4 of the 5 products I've asked for. I'm an idiot and posses an Ulta credit card because their points system is pretty good and I have expensive taste in make up. I had been looking forward to visiting this ULTA store for quite some time. I was dissatisfied with my current makeup and really wanted some semiprofessional help picking out new stuff. My friend, Katie, RAVED about the experience her sister had with Holly who helped her pick out a wonderful palette of eyeshadows from Urban Decay so Katie and I headed down to ULTA to try to locate her. Now, Holly isn't too hard to spot when she's working as she has the most beautiful shade of lime green hair. Believe me, you know the instant you walk in if she's on shift. We had to wait about ten minutes for her to finish with another client, but good things come to those who wait, right? When Holly was free she introduced herself and began questioning me about what I was looking for. I told her I hated my current cream based foundation and didn't have a history of success with liquids and she lead me right to a great bareMinerals loose powder that she matched to my skin tone for me. She even led me to the perfect brush to apply it with that was much cheaper than the bareMinerals brand brush. After I confessed that I'd been using a hand cream as a facial moisturizer (could this POSSIBLY be why I could never get the foundation to go on well?) she led me to a couple of moisturizers that she tried out on the back of each of my hands. She let me walk around and make up my mind which one I liked (I chose the triple performing facial emulsion by Benefit - changed my LIFE) without pressuring me to choose. My friend, Katie, mentioned that she was unhappy with her primer and Holly led us to the Pore fessional by Benefit that leaves my skin so smooth and ready to take the foundation color. To finish off the look she led me to a line of blushes by benefit and showed me the color she uses as well as locating another salesgirl so that I could see what another color looked like on her. I love love love my new makeup. Having just thrown out most of my eyeshadows (I'd had some for YEARS - a big no no) I asked her from suggestions. She showed me several sets, remembering that I told her that I travel quite often and so portability was a concern. I ended up deciding on the Natural Eyes kit by Too Faced. The colors are perfect for me, it comes in a compact easily portable tin, and even has a little guide showing me how to achieve several different looks using their colors. I dropped a small fortune in the ULTA store, but I'm incredibly happy with all my purchases. I usually spend less at a drug store, but end up regretting half my purchases (wrong shade for my skin of I don't like how it goes on) so this really is a win. I get less frustrated with the whole cosmetic application process now and like the finished product much better. Seriously, if you want a 5 star customer service experience go down to ULTA and let Holly take care of you! She really listens to you and won't try to push overpriced products on you that won't fit your needs. Go see Holly. You owe it to your face. PS They have other services available by appointment. Ulta is awesome because they sell high end and low end make up. I can go to any drugstore to get the low end stuff. I always come here for quality brands such as Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, NARs, Tarte, Lorac etc etc. Some of these higher end brands are expensive but worth every penny in my book. I had a make over done by a sweet heart named Ashley. She was super sweet and very informative about the specific brand I was interested in trying out. I also get my baby girls hair products from here. They have great hair care products for adults and for children. I get the Fairy Tales line for my little ones. They carry everything from your average Suave to Big Sexy Hair and Redken. Whatever your cup of beauty is ULTA has got you covered. The location is nice and you don't have to wade through a million browsing teenagers to look at things here unlike at the mall counters and Sephora. The store is always clean and kept up. Employees always friendly. Sometimes the lines in here can get long for the register though. ULTA, 4 stars. read more

It was a coupon that came in the mail, everyone has them! I called them to ask about it and Bo was beyond rude over the phone as well. Not sure how using a $3 coupon is going to set them back to where they wouldn't accept it. I wish I could give them -5 stars... First off.. customer service here is absolutely trash from the heads mostly. Amanda and Natalie especially have really crap attitudes towards not only employees but the customers too. Don't get me wrong, not all customers are reasonable but it is not the customers JOB to be professional.. That being said, I worked for this Ulta for about 3 months and was let go due to "attendance" right? Which.. 1. They'd said if you call 2 hours ahead and let them know YOU ARE SICK, it doesn't get put down as anything but a sick day. Excusable. But no.. since the day I started here I got nothing but snob-like, rude attitudes from several girls. I'm thankful there were very few kind, friendly other people but no, these women think they poop rainbows or something like they're better than anyone. It's sad because you'd think for Bakersfield having such a bad reputation, that they would try THAT much harder to be the most upstanding Ulta you visit/work at. But no... as I was saying.. I was let go due to attendance apparently when it came to situations I couldn't always help. I even showed up sick as a dog some days just for them to send me home? It's like what do they want? They want you to show up but if you show up sick they tell you they rather you not come in but then they FIRE YOU?! Do not work here unless you want to be drowning is petty ass bs and STRESS! My family and I are in serious risk of being homeless as I type this since losing this job I literally killed myself to work for. Due to my poor morning attendance, I told NATALIE I changed my availability to start no later than 10 AM! Tell me WHY just a couple weeks after I did that, I'm scheduled yet again another 5am shift that I could not make and I'M the one getting FIRED?! I'M the one doing everything I can to do my job, and she fails at hers but I'M to blame? I was never rude never disrespectful and was complimented time and time again for my excellent customer service while these rude stuck up females are running everyones employment here. Ulta does not care about its employees or customers sorry to say. But this is just the truth and I am not gonna stay silent when I was passionate and very serious about my job. I did everything I could to be the best I could be and God forbid DURING SEASONAL TIME you get SICK or miss times you specifically MADE SURE you WERE NOT scheduled for, you get fired, and then lied to when you ask to reapply.
