Sheena is highly skilled, thorough and an overall very kind person. Sheena has always remembered my brow goals even when several months have passed which shows me she cares/remembers her clients. Not to discredit the kind employees who work here, but I've definitely felt profiled at this Ulta. A few months ago I came in and the security guard was following me on suspicion of shoplifting I assume. I didn't even have a purse. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but I came in again last month with my sister and it was even worse. My sister is of a darker complexion than me and with a mask on has seen a rise of profiling done by public businesses. They again were profiling her and I and following us around the store. She told me afterwards that three employees stayed around her the entire time there. It's so disappointing and disheartening that we can't even shop in peace, especially her as a 16 year old girl. I just find it incredibly frustrating to know that this is the closest Ulta to me and I've been followed for no reasonable suspicion. read more

Went it yesterday afternoon around 8pm and found everything I was looking for except for one product so I asked the person at the register for some help. I tried describing the product and she had no idea what I was talking about but they always have that product in store. After not being able to find the product she gave me such an ugly attitude and looked at me like I was a crazy person asking for something that doesn't exist. As I was leaving I can see her staring at me and I can hear her talking about me. I feel like the store itself is good but they need to work on their staff having a positive attitude because it makes people feel unwelcomed and not want to come to this location again. This review is for the salon, I've consistently had great hair stylists at Ulta, specifically at this location. Keep up the good work of assembling a great team! I want to especially shout out Stephanie, who did an incredible job with my highlights and haircut. I've gotten SO many compliments and I feel like a new person. This was my first haircut in a year due to the pandemic, so I felt safe during the whole process. Stephanie was also gentle with my hair (long, thick, wavy) and knew how to handle it well. This location is offputting to save the lease. Majority of the staff here are really rude and just overall really dismissive. And the ones that aren't rude usually are not very knowledgeable when it comes to black hair products or black hair knowledge. Which is fine because I rather deal with a sweet person who doesn't know a lot versus someone who's rude and dismissive. Another experience I had, which it's not really a terrible experience. It's kind of a funny one, but it also just shows the lack of knowledge that this place employs. I was shopping for products that suited my hair type (3c-4a) and this lighter complexion lady came up to me trying to help me, but she was trying to sell me a Dyson air wrap and stated that it would be great for my hair. Like ma'am do you not see the curls and coils on my head, with all due respect that's not meant for my hair loll. But yeah I try to not come here and only go to the one in Brentwood but sometimes they don't have products that are available in Brentwood so then this one will just have to do. read more

I went to the willows location in concord today and told the person at the register that I would like to receive my birthday gift, she told me they were out and didn't try to substitute or anything like that. She also didn't ask me if I would like to use my points, which I would have if she had asked me. I also felt like I was being watched and followed by multiple employees which made me feel rushed and uncomfortable browsing the store. This review is for the salon... I got my hair did in 2017 of December 9th. What I had done was a-line lob haircut and got a balayage too, with the talented Chase! It was as my first time at the Concord Ulta Beauty Salon also. Chase has very sweet and listened to what I wanted, even though, I had pictures of how I wanted my hair to be. Walked in ready to purchase several items, hoping it would be a one-stop shop. The attitude I was met with discouraged me from wanting to buy anything. I was primarily assisted by a woman named Jennie, who wasn't friendly, didn't smile and seemed bothered by me. If I had to bet money, she only continued to assist because I hovered around her area. I hope she was just having a bad day and isn't normally this way. The customer service was subpar. I had amazing help choosing colors of foundation for ppl who were not with me. I wish I remembered her name. Unfortunately I had to return them 2 days later because they were not wanted. However Gabriella at the counter had a completely different attitude when I needed to return them. My items were rung up, I asked if I had any points I could use and I hear a deep exhale and Brooke proceeds to say that she would need to check. I walked in and right away I noticed that they where far more organized and neater than the other ones I have visited.. Then I walked through the store and quickly saw that they where fully stocked. Mmmmm makeup! Rows and rows of glorious color. Luscious lipsticks, eye-popping eyeshadow, magnificent mascara, bountiful brushes. For the hardcore makeup geek or just the casual user, Ulta is a wonderful place to stock, restock, educate and, best of all, PLAY! I found my way to this particular Ulta to begin my quest of eyebrow maintenance! Unlike many, I don't need help in creating my eyebrows - I need help in taming these Mediterranean caterpillars down! Mollie at the Benefit Brow Bar, over the course of only a handful of appointments, has become a friend and a guru! She expertly waxed and plucked my brows into total glam glory, showed me various Benefit products that would help me, and is always up to chat about all things makeup related, offer suggestions on products she knows and loves, and even demonstrate their use! Through just casual convo, she led me to the best concealer EVER. She is an absolute gem to Benefit and Ulta! Along with my brow visits, this is a great store to explore and play! My beloved Urban Decay has a MASSIVE display at this location, along with great displays by Smashbox, Bare Minerals, IT Cosmetics, Too Faced, Tarte, Stila, Japonesque - lots of great high end brands (though not all as high end as you'll find at Sephora). All the high end brands have testers out so you can experiment to your heart's content, which is not only fun, it's a crucial step for products like foundation and concealer! The downside though of a store that is so generous with their testers is that a lot of them get stolen or worn down quickly, and some of the testers aren't replenished as often as is helpful - several times I've tried to test out a product where the tester was dried out or empty. No bueno! They do have a leg up on Sephora though by offering Laura Geller products - Gilded Honey highlighter ftw! The other half of the store is drugstore brands, hair products and tools, and some bath products. It's very easy to spend a LOT of time in here exploring! I don't think this store has a need that can't be met, unless you are looking something SUPER brand specific. Their selection of NYX products is dazzling! Though again, with such a popular brand stock can run out quickly, so nothing is guaranteed. Such is life in the makeup game. Overall this is a great store that I'm happy to visit again and again! My only request is greater care for the testers, it would be nice to, say, grab a popular UD 24/7 eyeliner to test and not get scratched because the cap was left off and it dried out. I have never written a bad review before, but I was extremely upset with my brow job today. I exclusively use Ulta Benefit Brow Bars and as a college student, I've experienced brow services in several different states. I had not gotten my brows done in about 1 1/2 years due to covid, but decided to go today. I showed Sheena a picture from the day after I last got my brows done. She glanced at the photo, but didn't seem to acknowledge what I was asking for. I took that to mean she was confident in the job. She then made 10+ comments about how my involuntary facial movements were causing her to not be able to give me the results I wanted. I did not share this at the time because it's no one's business, but half my face is paralyzed from cancer treatment and multiple jaw surgeries. Comments about me causing someone to not be able to do their job is unacceptable. Especially when I've had great results from other technicians at other locations. If Sheena felt like she couldn't give me the results I wanted for whatever reason, she should have stopped. Instead I got less than subpar results, and left feeling super subconscious about my face. Not to mention I just started a new job working with executives at a big company. The only thing they see on the screen all day is my face. I'm going to include 3 photos. The one with the fishing lure is a before from a few days ago, the one at grand central station is my favorite pic from the last time I got my brows done (I am wearing make up so keep that in mind), the last are the results from today. Not only are the brows uneven when it comes to the arch, the right is way shorter than the left and way too much was taken off from the inside. The last time my brows looked this bad was when I was 12 and got a waxing strip stuck in between my brows. Despite this post, I'm not someone who generally cares about how they look. I have never felt this upset about my appearance, and this will take at least a few months to grow back to my expectations. read more

Loved the concord Ulta. I went in to pick something up and ended up getting my hair done. Renee happened to have a cancelation and fit me in for a color and cut! It was an amazing experience. I told her I wanted something different, and she worked her magic and made me look beautiful! The color was something I wouldn't have ever picked out on my own but she told me to trust her and I did. I am in constant disappointment of this location. It is not well kept and there is never enough staff around to help out. At Sephora there are staff everywhere willing to help you with what you're looking for. At this location I am always on my own and can never find a staff member to help. Also- DO NOT come here for Happy Returns. They are advertised as a store that does happy returns, but I was told by two employees that they do not do them and that I needed to go to another location. I purposefully came to Ulta for my Happy Return because of the $5 off in store purchase coupon after a return, but they couldn't even honor that. Very disappointed with the concord store. I really love this store! I love that an employee always welcomes me every time I come in the door. There is a large selection of all different kinds of makeup, hair, and beauty products. I also love that Ulta frequently has deals/discounts on their products since I always like buying products when they are on sale. There are a lot of employees that work here that can help answer your questions and help you pick out products. I frequently see individuals getting a makeover in the store, although I have not done this myself. The layout of the store is clean and well organized. It is easy to find the products you are looking for and there are plenty of options to choose from. I have bought products here and tried them on and it was not what I expected. I decided I needed new makeup brushes so I went to Ulta. While looking at their display I was greeted by Chanel. I told her what I was looking for so she took me to the other side where they keep Japonesque brushes (happens to be what I used before) which were on sale. She gave me helpful suggestions and offered to let me try some of her own brushes. She insisted on doing my makeup while teaching me about stippling. I was stubborn and afraid of the outcome but ended up pleased with everything and loved learning a new technique. I walked out with a bag of Japonesque products and brushes. She knows her stuff. Honestly a lot of my experiences in-person at beauty stores are ehh, I just prefer to buy online.
