I came in, it was not busy I had questions and the girl with the orange hair walked away from me while I was asking her a question. When I asked her a second question she was so rude. I have never seen such a hard working group of girls and guys at a salon before! Weekends are usually busy and if you want a specific stylist I suggest CALLING and book an appointment at least a month in advanced, but some stylists get cancellations and they could take you that week! Parking at this shopping center might be a mission just an FYI. I see Rose and she's without a doubt the most honest hair stylist I've met. She explains the process of getting your hair to where you envision it and the costs, both time, financially and in maintenance, that may come along with it. She's an advocate of having your hair match your lifestyle and not the other way around. She's brought my hair through so many different shades of red and every time it's come out even better than I imagined! I just moved back to California a year ago and have had the worst luck with hairdressers. Seriously. It seems like everyone I go to is out to screw up my hair. Since I shop at Ulta online for pretty much all of my makeup, I decided to book an appointment to get my hair did at the Concord salon. I figured, how bad could it be? I've already gone to the most expensive salons in the area and gotten fooked. I got placed with Wendy and she was awesome. My hair is a pain in the butt, so I pity anyone who has to deal with it...but any hairdresser worth her salt should be able to do it no problem. We were there for a while, coloring and cutting. Updated review: Since my old stylist left from here, I decided to try Candace out today and I am super glad I did! She is an amazing stylist. I told her what I was hoping for and she knew exactly what I wanted and suggested some new ideas which I absolutely love! She gets right to work and not only does a great job but she does is efficiently too! I asked her if highlights would look good and she said yes but a certain kind, so I set up another appointment for a couple weeks from now and I am super excited to finally try some highlights! Buyer BEWARE of this store. I wanted to buy a product that was out of stock & I was offered to have it ordered and shipped to my home for free. Sounded fine to me. When I get to the register, I can't pay cash or by credit card for the product. I have to buy a gift card and then pay with the gift card because the device that the order is entered into only takes gift cards. The manager threw out the receipt saying I didn't need it and I'll get an email with the shipping info. I get an email and the shipping info has the wrong name and incorrect address. No product and I'm out $. I had offered to double check my info when I was at the store and I was told it wasn't necessary since my info was being pulled from my rewards account. Incompetent staff or shady business practices? The only thing I'm sure of is that I will not be back! read more

Chase, the hairstylist did a great job on my hair! (I guess I should post a profile picture so it can be seen) But the girl who did my eyebrows waxed off way too much. I thought I was clear that I wanted to keep as much of my natural brow as possible, but she waxed off the like tail half of my eyebrow (idk what it's called). One of the other sales women noticed I wasn't happy and gave me a free Benefit Cosmetics bag, which was really nice and that gesture kept me together until today. But, today I'm finding myself really frustrated by how much she waxed off because it now takes me longer to fill in my brows and because my brows now look over-done, I then have to spend way more time on the rest of my makeup. It would be totally fine if I want to go out for the night, but I was not planning on increasing my every day make up time because some girl over waxed my brows. I will definitely be going back for my hair appointment and maybe to buy some make up, but I think it is obvious I won't be returning for my brows. (This is now edited) I was planning on not being petty, but I just took off my makeup and saw how ugly my brows looked again so I'm gonna go ahead and put her name out there. It was either Lisa or Linda, so definitely stay away from her if you want your brows done. Also thought she was really nosy cuz she noticed I had gotten my blood drawn (which I had because I have a chronic disease). Then she admitted that she didn't get her blood drawn when she was pregnant. I think she was trying to make me feel better about my experience with getting my blood drawn, but I just thought it was weird that she shared that information with me because I don't know her, I'm not a doctor and I'm not a mother. Maybe she could have spent less time telling me her problems and spent more time paying attention to my brow shape. read more

I had my first appointment at the Ulta Salon this afternoon. I was seated for my appointment exactly at my scheduled time. My stylist was Wendy. She was very kind and professional. I showed her images of what I wanted and she was able to recreate the look in a very timely manner. Also, her work station was very clean and organized. My total for a shampoo, cut, and blow dry was $31.50 after the 20% new client discount. I appreciate that Wendy was able to recommend a shampoo and conditioner that would suit my thin hair type. She was very organized and it was easy to schedule a follow-up appointment with her in a few weeks to maintain my blunt bob. Thanks Wendy! I absolutely love my Ulta. I have been an Ulta shopper for years now, and have always been pleased with the products they offer as well as the service I receive from most of the staff. Since moving back to the Concord area, this has been my Ulta go to.I get most of my makeup and skincare products from here, as well as Sephora. Ulta's store is divided into several different sections; left section of the store is all your basic, lower end ( but still decent) products such as Loreal, Maybelline and items such- the right side you will find all your higher end items ( the one's I come here for). The back area is a little salon along with another area dedicated to all our hair needs - they also provide an excellent selection of perfumes and they offer waxing services as well. I go to a girl named " Molly", she is an absolute sweetheart and does an excellent job! I get my skin care products here that I love such as Peter Thomas Roth and Dermalogica and I absolutely cannot live with out some of my Smash Box, Urban Decay, Tarte and benefit products...some of these items are like oxygen to me!! No joke! As much as I love Sephora as well, what I really, really love about Ulta, is their point system that you can accrue from shopping here to take dollars off your next product/purchase!! I can't even tell you how much money I have saved using those accrued points! So awesome! I also find the store to always be impeccably clean and well organized. Will be back soon :) read more

I was hesitant to write this review because I thought they might just be having a bad day, but after reading other reviews, it seems to be the norm. I've been into many Ultas and this one was the worst experience thus far. If you want to walk in and be ignored by multiple employees who are more worried about their days off, this is your place. We were never greeted or asked to be helped. When we stood in line we were waved like dogs to walk up to the counter. No hello, no how's your day, just "phone number?" for the rewards. Transaction was complete and we were on our way. There are many places to shop and multiple Ultas within the vicinity. I suggest they either close his place now before its forced to due to lack of business, or the management team takes charge and holds their staff accountable for bettering the customer experience. read more

I like Ulta as a store, however the salon is absolutely awful. The stylists barely have any experience and definitely should not color anyone's hair. I had an awful experience here and the stylist blamed it on the fact that my hair's "long and dark". Please do not ever visit the salon. It's not worth your money. This review is for the salon... Ulta is typically not where I would go to get a haircut by my very good friend had a haircut with Candace and she highly recommended her. I should preface this by saying I'm very picky about my haircuts...like I left my last haircut in years picky. One day at work I decided it was time to cut my hair and I gave Ulta a call and was able to make a same day appointment with Candace. Went over on my lunch and Candace gave me a fabulous haircut, she is an artist! I had to get back to work so I didn't have time for a blow out but my cut felt amazing air dried. It's been about a week and I have curled my hair, flat ironed and air dried my hair and I'm still ecstatic about the results. One of my favorite stores to go to they have everything you can possibly want from makeup, face wash, hair products and a lot are the top of the line brands. Everyone at this location are so nice and knowledgeable I was looking for a good face wash and one of the ladies helped me out in finding one of their best selling ones. It had the texture I was looking for. If you sign up for the rewards you get points every purchase so after so many points you get money going towards your accout. I was able to get $9 bucks off today which is cool I can't complain about saving a buck or two. The parking lot gets really packed so it's hard to find parking at times. The shelves are alway stocked with the merchandise and if you can't find what your looking for just ask I guarantee they have it. What's cool is they even carry the sugar wax I never tried it but I heard it's really good especially for sensitive skin. I've finally found a hair salon that I will keep going to regularly! The staff was very friendly and polite - even gave me a water bottle. Sierra gave me an amazing a-line cut and kept the length that I wanted. She was very nice and gave me a lot of advice and tips for taking care of and styling my hair, which is great, since my hair is not very cooperative. Definitely recommend this place! I had a great experience at Ulta the other day. I'm reviewing the salon aspect. I made a same day appointment for full face make up. The salon manager helped over the phone and was the one to do my make. Tavia. She made me look beautiful. The others workers were polite & complimented me. She was quick & personable. It was $40 and I left a tip. I was pleased and will be back to see her and others in the future. Thank you Ulta my new beauty spot! Ps... After she finished helping another customer she looked at me next and said someone will be with you then she just looked towards the back at other employees and walked away. The other cashier that was already helping another customer then said "what?" She was confused as to why she wasn't helping me. I ended up waiting 10 minutes to be seen by another cashier. So I came here for some corrective make up because I do musicals and wanted some quality products. With that being said, I'm not one of those YouTube make up gurus, hence I more or less have no idea what I'm doing. Upon arrival I ask for help and one of the associates, Chanel, pretty much holds my hand and helps me find what I need. She applies (and teaches me how to apply) everything I needed, from eyebrow pomades, to foundation, to color correction, all while being an actual, radiant, human being, asking me about my life and interests, as opposed to just a robot that pushes sales. My only issue with the store is that I wandered the store for about ten minutes, more or less, being extremely clueless, and was not asked if I needed help, until Chanel came by and helped me out. I do understand that it is a busy Saturday morning and that's probably what spurred the issue. read more

I'm sure she wasn't thrilled to find out I was booked last minute...and then even though I told the person on the phone what I wanted...what they scheduled me for was far from it. She took it in stride, even knowing it was going to be adding a couple hours to her evening. I'm naturally blonde, but this winter has been dismal and I've had little chance to be outside to keep my hair as light as I like it...and my wedding is in 2 weeks. I needed to be back sunny again. My hair always darkens in the winter, but this year is ridiculous. Anyhow...4 hours later I look exactly like I do after a week at the beach. The first time I've had my hair done where I look like me after, not me with highlighted hair. She had patience like no other to do all over highlights and just watching her work and divide my hair in perfect lines was crazy. I was mentally done at the one hour mark but she continued on. Typically I never need help when I visit a store, I had checked out their website before making the trip so I knew of a few things I needed. Upon entering I was never greeted, the employees were rather caught up with a few of them serving one person (mostly to tell her how pretty she was and what else she should buy LOL). I actually lingered in one section for over 45 min hoping no one would approach me so I could check things out first, but then I finally had a question and wondered what kind of employee lets someone walk around for that long without asking them for help!?! Not to mention the stock was depleted of most items, samples for some products were unavailable even if I wanted to order online. read more

Worst hair cut ever. I made an appointment for a haircut. I come to the salon counter to check in. The girl asks my name and she keeps throwing out multiple other names. I repeat my name multiple times. I have a very generic name. How hard was that? She finally realizes that she's looking at the wrong date and realizes that I was her next client. I should have known in that moment that this experience was going to be a huge mistake. She sits me down in the chair and we begin discussing what kind of style id like. I try and pull up some examples from Pinterest and Instagram that I had found but there was no reception so I try and explain exactly what I want. Huge mistake on my part. I ask for a long A line cut. Longer layers in the front and shorter layers towards the back. Simple enough right? Wrong. She proceeds with my haircut. Throughout the process, she walked away multiple times to pick up the phone or talk to other stylists. There were plenty of free stylists that could have picked up the phone so I'm not sure why she had to be the one. At one point, one of the more tenured (I assume) stylists comes and starts talking about her training and where she's at with it. Huge red flag. She finally gets done with my cut and begins blow drying my hair. At one point she realizes that there is black residue all over her hands but doesn't know where it's coming from. She continues to dry my hair without washing her hand or trying to find out where it's coming from. I later realize that it was from whatever product she was spraying in my hair as heat protectant because it got all over my hands too after touching my hair. Once she's done drying I knew it was too late at that point because the damage had already been done. There was no fixing it because it would end up an A line bob if it continued. She was a very nice and sweet girl but I wish they communicated her level of expertise before sitting me down in the chair. I come home to wash all that black stuff out of my hair and find that the layers are not even blended and I have the choppiest haircut that needs to be grown out in order to be fixed properly.
