I've visited multiple ULTA locations, and this one stands out for having the best customer service by far. The associates are always friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Emma, the general manager, is exceptional. The way she interacts with and supports her team is reflected in the positive attitude and professionalism they show every customer. It's clear she's a strong leader who runs the store with care, efficiency, and high standards. I recently had an issue with an online order that customer service assured me had been resolved, but unfortunately it hadn't. Emma took the time to listen, stepped in to help, and made sure everything was fully resolved before I left the store. She turned what could have been a very frustrating experience into a positive one. ULTA was close to losing me as a customer, but my experience with Emma completely changed that. Don't come here for natural styles. I called to make an appointment for a two strand twist, which I'd gotten several months before and paid less than $80. So I returned for the same service and paid $180. They concocted some charges (detangling fee even though I'd combed through it before arriving) and two natural hair style fees (ea about $77). I mentioned not knowing the price before hand and was told it would be a little more than the baseline $77 price. It was more than double, took 5 hours, and left my scalp flaky from the gel after a week. Also had the nerve to say that other places charge by 30min increments and I could have paid $400 That's crazy! Will not be going back. read more

I was excited to try getting a silk press done at ulta instead of going to my usual Dominican shop but I left disappointed. I didn't mind the price of my service changing and my stylist even told me she could do the style I wanted. For $110 silk press and trim there was nothing straight about my hair at all. It almost looks like my hair was just blow dried and my curls fell as soon as I got into my car. It's extremely frizzy and it's not even humid outside! :(((( read more

If you are a black or African American woman I would strongly suggest you do not let Ulta play in your head. I've advised ulta of these experiences both in real time and later and they've done nothing. I also witnessed a black woman complaining about similar issues and ulta just tries to quiet you. As others have shared, ulta associates can be quite rude and dismissive. At this location, Amber told me to eat the cost of this and Lexi (salon manager) was dismissive and unhelpful. Here's a run down of what to expect for women of color with extensions who don't work for ulta: -cut my extensions while my back was turned without asking -charged me for a dye job on my extensions which ended up being a rinse, and rinsed out once home/take down -poorly installed extensions on top of freshly colored hair (should have be left out) -not enough hair left out to cover tracks -dyed my leave out hair multiple times causing severe breakage -unpredictable prices Photos to come!! Fast forward to checking out I asked the cashier CHYANA If ulta still give out birthday gifts she said yes and then proceeded to giggle and say why is it your birthday I said yes. She said don't be telling fibs now, I said I'm not why would I. I found this to be extremely rude like who are earth would lie about a free birthday gifts this makes with her very still and I'm pleasant demeanor makes me not want to shop here ever again not sure if this is Atlanta customer service but it's trash. This was my first visit to this particular Ulta location and I'm happy to say it won't be my last. They seem to have some much more stuff than any of the other Ultas that I've shopped in. I was happy to see that they carried Shiseido, First Aid Beauty, Tarte, Nars along with Juice Beauty, Dermalogica and Peter Thomas Roth.This location also has some great Korean beauty brands including COSRX, SKINFOOD, MEMEBOX and JULEP. Ulta also has a great selection of travel and trial sizes of popular products so that you don't have to buy a an entire bottle just to realize that item breaks your skin out... This Ulta is located in a strip between Perimeter Center West and Perimeter Center Parkway NE. It's next to a Barnes and Noble Bookstore and The Container Store. Across the street there is a Super Target. It's a great store in a convenient location. Plenty of parking available. read more

At the end of August, I was looking for a specific hair product, and Ebony came over to help. She was so nice and helpful, I decided to book a hair appointment with her. I went in for the cut today, and she was amazing. She offered me and my mother-in-law water, actually listened and paid attention to me and to what I wanted, and took her time with my hair to get the cut right. She talked me through every part of the process, checking in to see how I felt. Ebony also gave me tips and suggestions for taking care of my hair, without trying to up-sell services or products. She demonstrated different ways I could style my new cut, too. And she was respectful to both me and my mother-in-law, though all three of us are of different races. She's funny, beautiful, warm, and excellent at customer service. On top of that, she knows how to cut hair. Go see Ebony; you won't regret it! read more

The store is well-organized. There is A LOT OF great product! I haven't had a bad experience with any of the products that I've chosen from an Ulta in general (fask masks, cleansers, makeup, nail polish, you name it.) General reason for low rating Although, I did get a VERY helpful worker to help, generally, the best customer service you get at this location is employees blatantly following you around the store AS you are actively being helped by another employee during my relatively lengthy (~35min) visit, which is odd. Advice to the establishment: I understand that not all customers and workers are trustworthy. And, no one is under the impression that everyone that walks into cosmetic stores is intending to pay with their hard-earned cash. However, if you're going to encourage employees to follow customers, AT LEAST have all of the workers interact with the customer instead of having them lazily tinker with empty shelves or stacking scrunchies. Anyway, I got A LOT Of GREAT product! But, sadly, I will not be returning to this location even for pickups. I've been getting all of my products of the same brands from the brand's site or department stores where I can deliver and get rewards because it's less annoying than being followed around. I came in and asked for a perfume I wanted that was only sold at this particular store to be unlocked, and the lady I asked told me to give her a minute. Fine. After almost 20 minutes I'm standing there and not only did she not come to unlock it despite literally only talking to her coworkers and not even doing anything, several other employees passed by me and didn't even ask if I needed any assistance. This store is located near by Perimeter Mall. It is in the Perimeter Station shopping plaza with neighboring tenants such as Barnes & Nobles, The Container Store and Chuys, to name a few. This location is fairly new, very spacious and is kept neat and organized. My go to when I want to avoid larger stores or the mall. I'm always able to find what I need at Ulta. They have the cutest stocking stuffers for the holidays. Friendly staff and the plus is that they seem to always have full coverage at the registers to allow for a smooth, quick checkout. I frequent this location a lot and came across a malicious worker today. Alexis refused to acknowledge my discount due to it already being applied on a previous returned purchase. Since I returned the purchase, the discount should still be honored. Alexis proceeded to ask "Do you have another code" and I said no. She proceeds to laugh under her breath and didn't even say have a great day after checking out. After calling customer support, they agreed with my discount still applying and sent me a redeemable voucher. I won't be returning to this location. I booked an appointment with Meredith for an updo for a special black-tie event I was attending last Saturday. I made my appointment weeks in advance for 2.15pm the afternoon of the event. I got a reminder text during the week, and arrived at the salon on time. When I checked in, I was told my appointment was CANCELLED and had someone not called me. Well, no one had called me to let me know. The Manger then arrived to talk to me and was very rude and unhelpful. She just kept repeating the same sentence that she understood how I felt which was ridiculous of course - she didn't. There were two stylists in the salon at the time with clients and they refused to fit me in with one of them. Instead, she offered to send me to Alpharetta or Buckhead. This might have worked for me if they made the arrangements earlier that day but at this point it was too late and I had to leave to get ready for the event. What upset me most was the attitude of the Manger and her lack of empathy. I would definitely not recommend the salon at ULTA my experience was shockingly bad. Never again. read more

I enjoy going to Ulta to get products, so I decided to try their salon since I have not found a stylist that I trust to do my hair. It's a decision that I regret! I have been living in a ponytail since my appointment because the stylist got layer happy with my hair! (Honestly, my hair was a bit of a mess from a previous stylist who gave strange layers and highlights.) First, she did do a good job with color, however I did not really like the red undertones when I really wanted dark brown. I wish she had shown me some hair swatches of the shade. The cut was the issues. She created even more strange layers. When I curl my hair, I know look like I have a Jane Fonda 70's wing curl! When I corrected the stylist at the end because the cut did not look complete, and my bangs were no where near where I wanted them, she started texturizing, but not the other.... and I asked for swooping bangs, like the ones in my picture of my hair a year before... NOPE, I got "bangs" that had bangs! I let her finish, paid and went home crying. I called the salon the next day to complain, and they did offer to let her try to fix it for free, but no way I would let her near my hair with scissors again! At least, I got cute ponytail holders at ulta on my way out that night ( update: went to another salon to see what they could do... I was informed that my cut is considered a southern mullet and it will take several months for it to be fix since it's so bad... even the hairstylist said I can't curl my hair without making it worse!!!!!). THANK YOU ULTA for for destroying my hair!!!! No one at your salon should be allow to use scissors!!! read more

I have been coming to this location for a couple of years now and fortunately for me, I have always encountered great hair stylists and a great face specialist. I have long naturally curly hair and Carol always does an excellent job. I have honestly never come across anyone who works on my hair as good as she does. My husband has had his hair done with her too and he would say the same thing. For facials... ask for Carolyn. She does amazing facials and always gives advice on how to keep your skin looking flawless. I love using the dermalogica products at home and getting facials with products from the same brand. I absolutely love coming to this Ulta. I had a few not so good experiences here but I'm glad I kept coming back. They did a complete 180 and got a new salon manager and a new team. The team at this location is amazing and I lucked out and got the salon manager as my stylist. Ebony is AMAZING!!!! She got me to the blonde I've been trying to achieve for over two years. I love my color so much. I came back and got extensions put in by her and I'm obsessed with them. Ebony is by far the best stylist I've ever had. The Benefit Brow Bar expert waxed off the wrong part of my eyebrow-- she was extremely nice and I enjoyed the experience, but when I got outside and noticed the error in natural light, I called and asked for a refund. 10 days later, I've talked to the managers 3 different times but no refund-- just a bunch of run around and blame game. Benefit Brow Bars are great and 100% worth the money, but I will not be giving my money to this location again. read more

2.5 stars. I was not familiar with Ulta, and this was my first experience. Ulta is a chain of beauty stores, kind of like a Sephora but more bare-bones, definitely less glamorous, and equipped with a brow bar, hair salon, and a mini no-frills Dermalogica spa. Prices were sort of high but comparable to Sephora prices. I expected a lot more help/service but it was very much do your own thing, figure out for yourself here. I didn't have anyone come up to me to offer help, and I had to ask the hair dresser and the aesthetician questions - somewhat like pulling teeth, whereas I expect people to try to make a sale. Dermalogica facials seem no frill, don't expect a spa atmosphere, but the facials are affordable. I'm not a Dermalogica fan and was turned off by the unsanitary conditions at the 'spa.' I asked the hair dresser how much a trim would be, and it seemed super over priced. Anyhow, nice to have this place here as competition for Sephora. Don't expect any samples here or really any service, which is the norm at Sephora. read more

New store, looks nice, bad service at the salon. Went on a Saturday after taking two appointments - one for my wife and another for my daughter. They kept the appointment for my wife but said they couldn't do my daughter's hair that day. So took another appointment for Sunday at 1pm. Reached there at 12.45 (15 minutes early) and was told by our stylist (Vincent) to come after 15 minutes. Waited at the Barnes and Noble next door, and came back at 1pm. Was again told by Vincent to come back after 15 minutes. Went back at 1.15 and was told again to come back in another 15 minutes! At which point we left the salon. read more

I was able to see a stylist the same day and within a few hours of calling to schedule an appointment which is a plus in my book. Once I arrived, there was very little wait time to see the stylist. I think I waited 10 minutes while she finished up another client. Another plus. The stylist, Carol, was friendly and took extra steps to deep condition my hair since it was so dry which I was very much appreciative. I was burned a couple times with the flat iron while she was attempting to straighten my roots (been a while since I've had a relaxer) and honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect with the finished product. When she turned the chair around so that I could see the finished product, I was pleasantly surprised. My hair was soft, shiny, and she curled it decently- not too tight, but just right. I received a shampoo and style for $46 which was cheap compared to most stylist who charge $55 and up for the same service. I was, however, little annoyed that she carried on a conversation with a client who was scheduled to see her after me (he missed his original appointment). I think the extra chatter attributed to some of the mistakes made with the flat iron and my scalp ultimately getting burned. Overall, the experience was okay, loved the price, and my hair looked and felt nice considering what I paid. I will probably return for hair emergencies when unable to book an appointment with my usual stylist. read more

So glad my favorite stylist, Justin Froman, is at Ulta Beauty. Justin is phenomenal. He is incredibly competent and always makes me feel like a million bucks! He never rushes through to get to the next client, rather he takes his time to make sure the cut looks good and that I am completely satisfied with the color and style. I have been going to Justin, as have my two daughters, for over 10 years and wouldn't go to anyone else! Ok. Once upon a time...I went to this Ulta. Twice actually, because I'm a glutton for punishment. First time I went in looking for the Unicorn Tears lipstick that is exclusive to Ulta. I stood there for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to help me. If I approached any of the employees they snapped that they were busy and would be with me in a moment. Finally, when they were all standing up front talking about their poorly executed highlights and contours...I decided enough was enough and CALLED THE STORE. One of them answered, told me to hang on, walked to the back of the store, and then walked out without the phone. Interesting. Then a disgruntled woman comes out talking on the phone with me. Once she finally arrives to where I'm standing, I tell her that I'm the one on the phone and it was the only way I could find to get assistance. Instead of answering whether they had any in stock, she told me that I had wasted her time, she didn't know or care if they had any, and walked back to her lair. SECOND TIME. I'm the only customer in the store. Waiting to check out while FOUR employees stand at the registers yet again talking about their horribly applied makeup (it's obvious why Sephora didn't hire you girls). They tell me someone will be with me shortly. Okay? There's four of you but I'm apparently waiting for the only employee that knows how to use a register? 5-10 minutes of waiting and someone finally crawls out of the back (there must be a clubhouse back there) to ring me up.
