I've had a string of increasingly bad experiences here, and I'm very disappointed. Employees are consistently more focused on stocking than assisting customers and when I asked about a particular shampoo I was told "oh that other brand is on sale" rather than addressing the question. No one was willing to assist the cashiers and only when the line reached the hair product did anyone consider backing up. Another customer and I were greeted with eye rolls as we presented cash/gift card payments and the interaction after that was purely transactional with a "Next!" Nothing personal whatsoever. If I wanted a transactional experience, I would order online. I know this hasn't been the case in my past experiences but as of recently, it feels like the overall quality of service and attention to detail has declined dramatically. read more

A client came in to complain about rhe hair cut she had received the day before and Madeline told her nobody was available to fix her hair. The lady was in tears, I would have gladly given up my spot but Madeline wouldn't allow it. The services I received were awesome but I do not feel comfortable returning to this location. read more

Went in to this location today, because my favorite location did not carry the Juvia's Place makeup product I was looking for. I drove 20 mins to this store. Walked in and no one acknowledged myself and the other lady that walked in. We went searching for the makeup, and watched every worker busy talking and laughing with each other. Customers were just walking around and basically helping themselves. Workers had absolutely no engagement with the customers, no assistance, no "can I help you find anything" it was just the workers there by themselves. And the customers there by themselves. The only interaction I had was from the person collecting my $61.00 worth of Juvia's Place product. SO SAD! read more

I don't have any Ulta-rior motives in posting this review. I always come here with my gf, who is the Ultimate customer. In fact, she's my Ulta-mate gf. Excellent Ulta, and we spent way too long in here, and way too much money. Barbie was looking her very best, and got compliments from several girls, and even hit on by an old man (not the first time, but probably the first time in an Ulta). Kinda hard to park anywhere near the door in this huge, sprawling plaza, but definitely one of the largest and best-stocked of all the Ulta stores we've been to. Today is Monday April 3rd. ***For clarity*** The Ulta store and their associates, get 1-star. Shay with Chanel working the Chanel counter at this Ulta Store gets 5-stars. My mother's 4:50pm flight to get her back home was cancelled yesterday due to the tornado watch and storms. Her essentials were in her checked-in luggage and of course, she couldn't retrieve her luggage. My mom needed to grab a few things which included makeup for the day. We went to this Ulta after leaving Target. We weren't greeted, but no biggies. We just hoped to possibly get some assistance locating foundation, concealer, and whatever else she needed. Every employee we were planning to ask for help walked the opposite direction. So my mother, does what she does best...helps herself. She begins blending and trying to find what she needed. The gentleman with the colorful hair even walked near us, but only to say excuse me and reach for something at one of the testing stations. We were like...wow. Ok! He walked away and continued to ignore us, but watch us from a distance. Weird! Anyway, she makes a few selections and we walk to the other side of the store looking for makeup brushes and a smaller makeup bag. We were a little lost trying to find what she specifically wanted (brand wise), and that's when Shay walked up to us asking if we needed help. She noticed we had walked from end-to-end of the store and could see in our faces the confusion. I graciously thanked her and my mother and I explained what she needed. I also told her not one associate spoke to us and we tried to ask for help but they walked the other way. She promised to take care of us. My mom explained the whole flight ordeal and luggage situation, so Shay offered to help her find the perfect items and offered to apply the makeup so my mother could see for herself if the products were what she would need. Y'all! SHAY IS THE TRUTH!!!! She took care of my mother and went OVER AND BEYOND! My mother was so grateful that she asked Shay if she could give her a hug as she thanked her. My mother purchased everything Shay used and now is officially a Chanel fan. We are back at my house now and she's online ordering more all because of Shay's excellent service and generosity. I love my stylist Tara at the Eldorado Pkwy, Frisco Texas location. I travel from Carrollton to have my hair colored and cut by her. She has also cut my husband's hair several times. She is by far the most knowledgeable hair stylist I have had in the four states that I have lived in. She is very personable and takes pride in her work. She wants to make sure that you are happy with the results before you leave. I would recommend her highly. read more

I came in having booked full highlights & the stylist bleached my hair fron roots to ends, & the store tried to charge me for a color correction by the hour. The stylist "didn't have time" to tone my hair at the end so I left with a yellow-orange, brassy color all over instead of gorgeous ashy highlights. They knew I wasn't stoked about being charged for a whole other service than I has asked for, so they still charged me for a full highlight, but added an extra charge for a "gloss" on top of it, which I did not receive. I didn't even get my hair toned out! I've been here many times & more often than not, they try to tack on some extra charge at the end, making it feel like a grab for more money. I hate writing negative reviews but I was just so disappointed & won't be going back. read more

The weirdest experience I've ever had at an Ulta. I'd definitely recommend going to a different location and spending your money elsewhere. Really really bad customer service. I was referred to an employee by someone that looked like a manager or shift lead to help me get a sample. The girl I was told would help me was incredibly rude and said she was "off the clock" and then had me follow her around the store and she literally never helped me to get the sample and then said she'd ask someone and never came back. I don't understand, as a manager, why refer you to someone who's "off the clock", if you're off the clock why are you still there, why be rude, why not just say you'll grab someone else to help you, why have someone follow you around if you have literally zero intention on helping them, and why work in customer service if you don't like people? I don't get it. Get a job that you enjoy and stop treating people like crap. After thinking about it, I will be returning my items because I definitely do not want to support a company that treats people like that. Whoever you are you honestly never know what someone may be going through, it's awful to treat people that way. And if you're having a hard time get some support, don't use it as an excuse to channel your anger/pain toward strangers. Saying this in a public format because maybe just maybe people will glean from it and encourage people to have good customer service and just general kindness. If you've made it this far and you're a person just trying to make it through each day and spread a little bit of love when you can, keep shining! We're in this together. Poopy people try to make you feel outnumbered and like you're the problem for literally just existing but there's honestly way more decent, good, and neutral than there is bad in the world. read more

Probably the worst Ulta in the DFW area. It's the store closest to me but I will drive elsewhere to avoid this store. First, the staff is not interested in helping anyone. I've been in there multiple times looking for items (side note: this store doesn't carry a lot of the items that other Ulta locations do) and it's IMPOSSIBLE to get assistance. If you can get someone to assist you, they do the bare minimum. I've asked employees if they carry certain items, they say no and just walk away. Or they go back to chatting with their friend (who clearly doesn't work there and is hanging out). The last straw was when I needed a blow out for a last minute special occasion. This was the only Ulta that had any availability when I needed it, and I was not having any luck finding an appointment at other places that do blow outs. My regular stylist (not at Ulta) did not have any openings. The woman checking people in at the salon was rude - not just to me - to everyone. She seemed as if she didn't want to be there. Her greeting to me, and others, was "do you have an appointment?". No hi, no pretext, just this line spoken in a way that made me think I was bothering her. The stylist I was paired with seemed nice. But then she started to upsell things by telling me that whomever does my hair has been doing it wrong. I think she was trying to get me to be her client but it was an awkward way to do it. After criticizing my hair color and cut, she did a very basic wash on my hair. I should note that the condition of the salon - it was very cluttered. The room where they shampoo is kind of junky. Water stains on the ceiling, harsh lighting and it didn't look like it had been cleaned recently. The kicker was the employee working next to me - she was doing another employees hair. And they were complaining about the manager of the store the whole time. So much that the woman doing my hair stopped to clarify who they were talking about. From the sound of it, the employees are not happy with the manager. Back to the blow out. The stylist gave the most lackluster blow out. She dried my hair and proceeded to take sections of hair and saturate them with hair spray, then curl my hair. I get blow outs fairly regularly, and I've never had anyone do this. My hair was solid. She kept telling that this will last 3 days. She combed some of it out, leaving big sections with solid curls. I started running my fringes through those sections to loosen the curls and she finally brushed those out. It looked ok from the front. Not great, ok. It wasn't what we discussed but it was kind of passable. I got home and tried to fix it a little more. She had only curled the top layer of my hair, mostly everything under was still straight. Some of these straight sections were still a little damp. I'd also like to add that they do a high pressure donation spiel when checking out. The associate tried to guilt me into it. And when they get a donation, they ring a bell and clap. It makes one feel awkward if they didn't donate. read more

What can I say about Tara!? She's amazing. I've followed her from another location & salon-and would literally drive across multiple states to continue seeing her if I moved-or if she did. I am terrible about knowing exactly what I want but I give her some direction, or she asks me questions, then I tell her "I trust you, do what you think it best" and I have NEVER been disappointed. Actually I'm always overly impressed... and it's not easy to impress me! My cuts are flawless. My colors/highlights beyond dreamy. I just absolutely LOVE Tara. She took the time to explain every part of the process and educated me about my hair and options. She made me feel so comfortable to ask questions and speak up about what I wanted. I have had my hair bleached many times by different stylists, but never has anyone taken the time and patience to be so detailed and precise as she did. I've always liked shopping at Ulta. They have a good variety of beauty products that are a step up from discount stores. What I really did not appreciate was how pushy they are about their rewards program. The store associate started signing me up without asking. Then, when I declined to give a phone number, she told me that I wouldn't be able to return any items without it. I ended up just buying one item. I won't come back to Ulta. I get enough spam / marketing emails as it is. I don't need my personal information to be in a database that will inevitibly be compromised. read more

I've heard Ulta described as being like crack for women. If you've ever been in one, you'll understand! There's almost more makeup, facial care, fragrance, shampoo/conditioner, hair styling products, hair tools, nail polish, bath stuff, comfy socks, and even a hair salon in the back. I can get *most* stuff from Ulta, but some of my very favorite brands I can't get here. Some Ulta locations have MAC, so if that's what you're looking for be sure to check the website first...I think they have a filter for the stores that carry that brand. Ulta has a pretty good rewards program, so if you plan to shop here often I'd recommend signing up. This location has pretty good parking. read more

My niece and I stopped by this Saturday afternoon. My niece is 14 and is now starting to want to get into makeup, and I thought it will be nice to pick her up a couple of things. As we were browsing through the Becca area, a blonde employee approached us and asked if we wanted to get color matched for foundation. I politely told her no. She saw us carrying things in our hands and asked if we needed a basket and I said sure as she hovered around us. I didn't give it much thought going forward. As we went to the checkout lane this same lady comes by and is staring into the same basket that she brought to us. I then felt uncomfortable and upset that this lady assumed we were shoplifting....I just hope that Ulta and the employee that works there sees this. read more

This Ulta is the closest to me, so by default I shop there a lot and I am yet to have a pleasant experience. They hover around you, yet when you ask a question about a product, they are clueless.
