Everything is well organized and easy to find, many employees are nice, and I love that they stay updated on things that are trending in the skincare and makeup community. However, I never go out of my way to dress up when I go out but whether I'm wearing form fitting or baggy clothes I typically get an obviously dirty look from an employee. Either that or I am OBVIOUSLY being followed around; either being stared at or an employee is messing with something and constantly looking up at me. I go out of my way to not touch anything unless I'm buying or reading it and I have been a loyal customer to this store since I was a teenager. I came to this store needing more make up and brushes for my daughter's wedding. I came in Wednesday the 6th- a wonderful associate was able to finish the client she was with and give me attention at the same time. I had her write her name on my receipt, and in all the hustle I lost the receipt. I purchased Tarte eyeshadow and make up brushes. Also Idole purse size fragrance. I made a quick trip to the Holly Springs location tonight and I didn't realize they were closing in 10 minutes of arriving. As soon as my daughter and I walked through the door we were greeted with "we close in 10 minutes." I stated we needed to grab one thing. We were checking out within minutes. As were we checking out the same employee was at the front door locking the door at 7:55pm so no other customers could get in, then unlocking to let customers out as they checked out. As she unlocked the door for us, no interaction at all from the same employee. I will not be returning to this store if this is how customers are treated. read more

Omg! I cannot believe people actually pay the amount of money they get charged here for highlights! Normal salons include a trim with the highlighting price, but not this place. I was charged an extra $65 for a trim after already paying for highlights which was also on the higher end in my opinion. Wow! Completely unacceptable. People are really blowing their money away here if they are paying this and not complaining. And as a side note, If this place wants to be a high-end Salon, you should make your hair dressers at least do scalp massages during the shampoo. Basic salons do that and this one does not. First I went to another bargain salon in the shopping center and two different parents had brought in their 3 to 4 kids each so the wait was horrible. Thought I try Ulta, so called in to see if I needed and appointment. Lucky for me they did have one available in 30 minutes with Alyssa and the price was just few dollars more than the bargain salon. There were no reviews for Alyssa but decided to give them a try just because of Ulta brand name. Boy did I get even luckier. My stylist Alyssa, was super friendly, and such a sweet heart, she sat me down, introduce herself, asked me how I wanted my haircut. Overall I had an amazing experience with her, she listens very well, and she did exactly what I had asked her to do. A noteworthy trait of Alyssa is that she always repeated herself to let me know that she understood me and that we were on the same page. I have ran across so many stylist who have attitude and think they are all that. Alyssa is very down to earth and seems like someone you can relate with, another great trait besides being extremely skilled. I also loved that she paid attention to details and was so meticulous in her work. I would absolutely recommend her and will be seeing Alyssa next time I am due for a cut. I got a haircut from Meagan at this location. I have been going to Meagan for 10+ years and I pretty much follow her to whatever salon she goes to. I'm extremely picky about my haircuts and Meagan is the only one that can get the job done perfectly every time. I have intermittently tried other stylists and some were very talented but they weren't Meagan. She also has great suggestions for products, which I can always count on any Ulta to have. DO NOT GO TO AN ULTA BENEFIT BROW BAR EXPECTING A BENEFIT BIRTHDAY BROW! They will not honor it. I have been a Benefit Brow Bar client for over 5 years, and have been to many different locations. I have been nothing but satisfied with my experience at all of these locations. While the brow wax is expensive ($22 + tip), it is worth the money and the ladies are always so friendly and do a wonderful job. On the week of your birthday, Benefit Brow Bars will give you a free brow wax. I always make sure I get my brows done during this week. I have never had any problem getting this free wax. I made an appointment and went to this location today to get my eyebrows waxed. It was a terrible experience from the start! I had an appointment for 4:20pm. I walked in a few minutes before that time and went to the Benefit Brow Bar counter. The esthetician, Amory, did not acknowledge me until 10 minutes into my appointment (4:30). She continued to work with her current client and then proceeded to show the client products around the store. While that was fine that she was running behind schedule, she should have acknowledged me and told me she would be right with me. Once she finally began my appointment, she never once apologized or even acknowledged the fact that my appointment began over ten minutes ago. She sternly told me to put my stuff (wallet, sunglasses, phone, and keys) on the counter and sit in the chair. I placed my things on the counter and then she knocked off my keys. She seemed disgusted that she had to pick them up and then proceeded to move all of my things and throw them onto another counter. After all of this, she finally began working on my eyebrows. She wasn't gentle whatsoever and said maybe 5 words to me the entire time she was working on them. In the past, the ladies at Benefit have been so friendly and have talked the entire time. This was obviously not the case today, even though Amory had been seemingly friendly with her previous client. She finished my eyebrows and asked if I ever fill them in. They are blonde and I generally do, but only when I wear makeup. I wasn't wearing makeup today and hadn't filled my eyebrows, knowing I would be getting them waxed. She proceeded to tell me that I needed to fill them and tried to sell me on multiple products because "they would look a lot better and really need to be filled". After looking in the mirror, I noticed that my eyebrows were not even, but I was so ready to be out of that chair that I didn't even say anything. Additionally, the esthetician left spots of wax on my face and did not put aloe or lotion on my brows. She also did not ask me if I wanted her to attempt to cover up the redness. In the past, the ladies at all Benefit locations have held aloe on the red spots and then applied lotion and foundation/powder to cover the redness. After this terrible experience of actually getting my brows waxed, I got to the register and told the cashier it was the week of my birthday and that I was redeeming my Benefit Birthday Brow. She told me that was not a thing and she had never heard of it. I proceeded to show her online about this and tell her I have been getting it done for five years. She continued to not honor it and said that Ulta didn't do it. I eventually just paid the $22 for the wax. She then required I tip Amory, which I would not have done, seeing as she was terribly rude and my eyebrows are uneven. While I would've been pissed about not getting the free wax, it was much more frustrating that I spent $27 and the experience was miserable. I still would've been frustrated that I was having to pay instead of getting it for free if the esthetician was pleasant/friendly and my eyebrows looked good, but that was not the case. In turn, I left the location with burning, uneven eyebrows and spent $27. I get my eyebrows done every 2-4 months due to them being blonde and not growing very quickly; however, since my eyebrows are now uneven, I will be going to the Crabtree Benefit Brow Bar location next week to have them redone. I work in Fuquay-Varina and pass by the Holly Springs Ulta on the way to and from work and decided to utilize this location since I have never had any problems with any Benefit Brow Bar locations. That was a terrible mistake and I will not be back. The Benefit Brow Bar at Crabtree Valley Mall has been nothing but amazing and I would recommend everyone going to see the ladies at Crabtree instead of Amory at Benefit Brow Bar inside Ulta, Holly Springs. read more

I like to wait a couple days after a haircut to see if it really is as good as it seems because I have no skills when it comes to recreating what happens in the salon. It's been 3 days, and I have to say I am so pleased with my haircut. Megan did a wonderful job. She listened to what I wanted, but somehow did it better than I had envisioned. My hair is simple and straight. I wanted a couple inches off the bottom to clean up the split ends, and maybe some layers so it's not a blunt edge. She managed to make my hair look healthy and nice without the "guess who got a haircut" awkwardness that usually lasts for a couple weeks after the cut. On top of that, she was friendly and a kind and made the visit enjoyable. I also come here for the occasional cosmetics purchase (I'm no whiz at that either), and the staff are generally more pleasant and willing to help than other Ultas I've visited in NC, VA, and DC. Parking is never an issue, and I able to get in, get what I need, and get out in a reasonable amount of time. read more

My friend did nothing the wrong then the worker said "Why are you giving me that look" in the most unprofessional manner ever... At first I said no, but then I changed my mind and decided to ask my questions. I was so lost with all the products and what the difference was and which one I needed. I regularly use Ulta for my makeup needs. I switched from sephora several years ago for convenience. Today I went with my mother to this Ulta in holly springs towne. Both of us were looking for some cosmetics and some hair accessories about an hour after they opened. The selection was good. Most all things we needed in Stock aside from some hair accessories which were sold out or unreplenished? The issues started in cosmetics. We needed some advice on some products. The hairstylist from the salon was in the section looking for something for a client. We asked if anyone was working, she said there was supposed to be but would get someone for us. She was so nice. Moments later a younger girl showed up in the center Benefit section and began applying a full face of makeup. Noticing she was in a Ask me about Benefit shirt we asked her about product suggestions. A direct quote from her - while not taking her face from the mirror she was applying makeup in - "I clock in in about 10 minutes, then I can help you." After 10 minutes we return to her location and ask the question she doesn't point us to anything benefit and names off two brands - no location of where they are or which of the several types of the product each brand has. She also gave some other milling women similarly lackluster and zero detail comments upon their questions. Nothing proactive. No warm tones unlike other Ulta's. We didn't end up buying any type of that product, not feeling secure. The cashier was also a little moody for the regular cosmetics and hair items we bought. Bad customer experience. The morning of we received a phone call asking us to come in 20-30 minutes later because Amanda was running late. We arrived at 11:20 as requested. By 11:50 she was still blow drying her current client and asking her about what sprays she liked in her hair and how she felt about a flat iron. There was no attempt on her part to finish up any time soon. We left at 12:00 after re-booking with my favorite stylist - Alyssa.
