I seldom shop at Ulta, and that wont change after my experience. I received 2 Jimmy Choo perfume gifts for $172 each for Christmas and my Birthday on 12/26 and wanted to EXCHANGE ONLY one for a different perfume (more expensive) but was denied because I did not have the ORIGINAL receipt and my son-n-law didnt create an account with Ulta using his phone number so purchase couldn't be found smh I have never heard of such nonsense in my 52 yrs, esp during the holidays. But I was told "NO, there is nothing we can do" by manager Jocelyn. The good news is after bugging my daughter over the phone, and holding the line up I was able to provide the receipt which was located via email since this was an online order. Also, the cashier Amber was pleasant and patient with me because of course I was very upset and wasnt on my best behavior. Never the less, I paid the extra $26 and was able to get the other perfume of choice but the experience was exhausting and embarrassing. So, Ulta doesn't have to worry about me coming back! My wife bought something online from this company but later found better deals elsewhere, so she asked me to return the product to the store. The return was made within the 30-day period. The cashier asked if I had the credit card that was used to buy the product online, but I didn't have it with me. She then said the only way to process the refund was via a store card. I wasn't aware that a store card can only be used in-store, as it wasn't explained to me. After accepting the store card refund, my wife was infuriated because she wanted to use the card to buy something on Cyber Monday. A few days later, we returned to the store to request a proper gift card that could be used anywhere, but we were refused, citing company policy, and were asked to contact customer service. Customer service was unhelpful and directed us back to the store, with both sides avoiding responsibility for providing a usable refund. We frequently make online purchases and have never encountered such issues with refunds from other stores like Target, Hollister, Abercrombie, and J.Crew. Their customer service and refund policies are much better, and none of them required such an odd arrangement. This company's customer service and refund policy are very poor. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt with the salon. I had thought I had found a stylist I felt comfortable with, booked an appointment I was really excited for as I'm insecure with how crazy my hair has gotten. I arrive 10 mins before my appointment, check in only to wait 30 minutes. None of the stylists/employees check in on me, finally I had to ask the receptionist what was going on and they called my stylist (Patty) over on the intercom, waved me off to go back to sitting. Finally Patty arrives, telling me she was on break. Why would you go on break when you know you had an appointment at that time? Finally sat down and they asked what we were doing. I asked if the gloss came with a cut which she said no and I wanted to add it, then she says she HAS NO TIME?!!?!? But the gloss will take 20 minutes (no way a gloss would have taken 20 minutes on my hair, I have very thick and long hair. I have done glosses with her in the past and it took hours) and she can have someone else cut my hair. Yeah I booked this appointment with HER, I was not comfortable having someone tag-team my hair in a rush, no way. At that point I had enough of the bad, awkward experience and left Ulta crying, disappointed by the treatment. No one offered to make the situation right. Super disheartening. There's no way fixing this, I've already reached out to another salon and booked my appointment. This was the last straw Ulta, you've lost yourself a customer. read more

Brow bar review only!!! I decided to give it a shot and try the brow bar at Ulta. Its a cute little cart area that there is a professional brow babe there to help you with your brow needs. Lindsay! She is wonderful, she talks to you on what is it your looking for and doing there. She then maps out your brows and shows you exactly what she is waxing and cleans you up all nicely. She is also able to shade your brows in so you can see how clean and nice she did your brows. She did an amazing job and was able to help me figure out what to do about a part of my eyebrow that wasn't growing much hair. You must book your appointment online. Lindsay is great and trust me you will be happy. read more

I've always purposely come to this location because it was better service, until recently. I walked in they had moved the pick up counter to the other side of the registers which made it confusing if I had to get into the line or not as no one was at the pick up reg. Melanie I think was her name was at the register the normal one, she never acknowledges that I'm there waiting or calls for someone. I ended up getting in line then when I get the reg she tells me I have to go back to the pick up counter when she's an associate and could have assisted me. She finally calls over someone named Blanca who seemed irritated to actually do her job. Doesn't seem welcoming at all either of them and neither seemed to want to assist. I was in the neighbor earlier today so I stopped by here to pick up a face oil my daughter needed. As I was walking towards the front door I noticed 2 employees but as I opened the door, they both moved away from the door. I had to ask one of them for help. The Latina employee with the black face mask assisted me. She wasn't friendly. As we got to the aisle where the item was she handed me the item box. This Ulta is the worst location I have ever been to. I never write reviews on stores like this but the service was terrible, no one ever asked me if I need help even when they passed by. When I went to go check out I waited in line for 10 minutes, even thought there was 2 employees by the register talking, seeing that I was waiting and pointing around the store making eye contact with me. Once I got to the desk I told the employee about the discounts I wanted to use and she waited until she finished scanning all the things to respond. And then told me that my BOGO didn't qualify and that I couldn't use my $10 off $50 coupon. Worst service ever. And then there was blocking things everywhere. After going to the Glendora location I never want to come back to this location again. The people and the workers are much kinder and helpful with no bad attitudes. One of the workers named Sasha was just extremely condescending during my whole return process. I get so much anxiety everytime I return and Ulta actually has a great return policy. There are things I never opened and are still sealed in their original packaging and with the original receipt and they still manage to make you feel like you're stealing. This is for the salon department. I called for a last minute blow out before leaving town last week. Joy did my hair and she did an amazing job. She took her time with my very thick, curly hair and made sure I left the building looking fabulous. She did not rush what so ever and took the time to even add tinsel to my hair (knowing I had a fun event planned), and walk me around the store to show me some products that would keep me right for the weekend. Ugh, I wish I could give this place zero stars. The ladies who work here are incredibly rude and will definitely try to scam you. I was overcharged for just 10 strands of tinsel, which took over an hour because the "elite" stylist I originally booked with, Susan, kept leaving and had another girl working on my hair who was just learning how to do tinsel. Needless to say, all 10 strands of tinsel fell out within the next day. I called back the same day and they told me I could "come back" for more, but they charge per 15 minutes. That wasn't made clear to me when I booked, nor is it mentioned anywhere on their website. If I knew I'd be charged $50 for invisible tinsel, I would have chosen to go somewhere else. I even overheard their drama while getting my hair done, and other stylists kept talking about how they messed up another client's hair. Trust me, you're better off going to an actual salon. I always dread coming here. But here I am still coming to get products that I need. There's normally, if not all the time, a long line at checkout. Today I came here to return some items. I came around 3:30ish pm right after work. I was 3rd in line, which was fine. The line formed at the right side of the registers. There were two people at the registers. The lady in front of me went to the sales associate at the register. She didn't need to purchase anything at the time. She just needed help with a few items to possibly purchase and was asking for possible recommendations. The girl at the register asked the other staff if someone could help the lady and the staff member said, " You can help her, there's only one person in line" ,which was me. So now that leaves one girl at the register. As she finishes checking out her customer she proceeded and said, " I can help the next person in line" A lady walked up to her and I said " I was next in line" The staff said the line formed at the left of the register. Apparently a new line formed at the left of the register that I wasn't aware of. How did a line form at the left side of the register when initially I waited in line that was formed at the right side of the register. I just felt a little dismissed and unseen. I would have just ordered online and done a pick up to avoid the lines but this time I had a return. I did not have a good experience today. read more

I can always find what I am looking for here and if they don't have something in stock, the staff can help you order it. They always add in free gifts with purchase and this location is super generous. I genuinely hope all District Manager or someone higher up on the corporate ladder see's this review. On Friday the 24th i was scheduled to have an interview with Elena the store manager at one in the afternoon. I arrived 10 minute early walked in 10 minutes early. No one could be BOTHERED to greet me or acknowledged I was there. The store manager was gossiping behind the the checkout counter with a girl in a pink hoodie and jeans. I finally approached them I told them I was looking for Elena. She then pretended to be confused as to who I was and what I was doing there. I reminded her that I had an interview at 1 with her. She then told me to give her a few minutes and to look around. Ten minutes go by nothing, fifteen minutes she comes out and says just a few more minutes, finally at the TWENTY-FIVE minute mark she reappears from the back saying just a few more minutes. At this point I feel as if she is goofing off in the back and hanging out with the stock team, making me feel extremely uncomfortable standing there after walking the entire store. She finally comes out nearly thirty minutes late with saying that her office was being used, she then walks me to what I assume was a spa room or service area, which was unavailable because it was a mess with products. She proceeds to take me to the stock and says we can do the interview right smack in the middle. She brings us two chairs, at this point I am so beyond disgusted with her behavior and LACK of professionalism but from there the nonsense doesn't end. After all this time, after thirty minutes of her buffoonery she asks me three basic questions off this interview guide. On top of the waiting, the three questions she couldn't (or didn't) want to provide the pay. This is so shocking that ULTA condones such unprofessional, her mind was clearly made up, I was just there for her to check a box that she interviewed. At the very end of the interview she claimed that she would call me if I got the job or not (which I knew she wouldn't). ULTA prides itself as this company about inclusion and diversity and yet I have never felt so uncomfortable and disrespected. If someone in a higher up position looks at this please provide additional training and or hold your managers accountable read more
