I've been going here for at least 4 years and was introduced to this place in the recommendation of a friend who had been doing since early 2000s. About me and my hair maintenance: pretty low maintenance for long hair, simple trims and some tapering in the front. Nothing too wild. I go about 3x per year and usually decide I want a haircut day of and then try to schedule or get one within a day or two. I'm not a book every six weeks type gal. What to expect: they're definitely busy. I used to do drop in (see above) but now call day of and make an appointment for day of. For drop ins, lunchtime is when many are going. There's a parking lot and never a problem with it being full. Dry haircuts. I don't have a particular person I go to and have been pleased with my haircuts from all of the staff. read more

been going here since i was 9. i'm almost 21 now. it's family owned businesses like these that are truly what makes portland so close to my heart. thuy has been cutting my hair (and my entire family's) for years. leading up to my transition i desperately wanted my hair to reflect my gender identity. i was in middle school when i had asked her to chop all 12 inches of my hair into a more androgynous look. that was the first time i felt gender affirmation. although she might've not known it, she really helped me. the salon's client base is majorly asian and latino, considering the location. they are incredibly familiar with thick, coarse hair textures. i've never had a haircut from here i didn't like. read more

Been coming here for many years now. There's maybe 6 ladies that work here. They're usually busy but I tend to walk in after lunch rush on a weekend, got my hair washed and trimmed. Service is great. Quick. And they do a nice job. Price is reasonable. Parking is limited in a shared lot. They don't do nails there and need to update their signs. I didn't get the gals name but everyone here does a fine job. They've been and for many years. Would recommend this place to anyone of all ages. read more

16$ for a great haircut for long women's hair???!!! ARE THEY CRAZY?!! I have long thick jewy hair that needs lots of attention and layering. I'm very scared of change too. Usually I pay near 60-80$ for a haircut that looks just like the one I got today from Julie. This place is clean, no frills. She didn't wash my hair and it only took her 20 minutes total for the trim. I wasn't even charged for the time it took her to style it. She made it look just like the picture I showed her. The ladies are super nice! All of them have so much experience. My whole family gets our hair done here and they always turn out just the way we like it. I will say, they get pretty busy during the holidays or the weekends, so expect at least about a 15 minute wait for walk ins. But if you get lucky, depending on the time, it's not too bad either. There were couple people before me but I got in fast because there were 4 hair dressers working that day. Loved the service and price was reasonable. Quick, easy service near my house. I've been going here for years; this is the only place I go to to get my hair cut. $16 for a trendy haircut that would cost me $75 elsewhere. A few layers shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Be very specific with what you want and know which ladies you prefer. There is one who doesn't do my hair quite the way I want so I make sure to avoid her. Other than that, the stylists are very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! If I could give no stars or negative stars I would. My wife was referred here by a friend so we both expected a good experience. Instead the gal that cut and colored my wife's hair did a hack job and did a TERRIBLE job with the coloring. My wife looked like a blond smurf when all was said and done. So we immediately went to the store and got some color so my wife could color her hair herself to fix the gross error. $100+ dollars down the drain including the cost to fix my wife's hair. read more

Han is the best barber in Portland. Before I found this place, I tried out close to a dozen other barbers, and was not always 100% satisfied. Han has been cutting my hair for 8 years now, sometimes as often as a every two weeks. She does a perfect job every time, because she cares. I don't think she charges enough, so I always leave a good tip. Now, my brother and all my friends come to her for their haircuts. When you come in, ask for Han, you may have to wait in line, as she is almost always busy. read more

I used to live right next to here so as a child my mother would take me here to get my hair cut all the time. Now that I've moved out of the city, this place is quite a trek to make when I'm due for a haircut, which is quite often as my hair grows fast, I reckon I come into town every 2-3 weeks to cut my hair here! The reason why I keep coming back is a silly reason actually; I'm extremely ticklish when it comes to haircuts, no matter what I always end up moving around and giggling like a school girl. The ladies here are so good at what they do I barely crack a smile when I'm getting my hair cut here! Their prices are good, they're nice and polite, and I don't have to worry about being ticklish! If you come in during peak times, expect a wait, it gets pretty busy, but during off times (not lunch or dinner time) you can get in and out fast, depending on what you need done. I have Straight, fine hair and was looking for salon good at bob's. I am very picky and it is always hard for me to find a stylist I like. I was used to paying $45-$65 for a haircut. I have a coworker that had a bob style I liked so I tried Sarah at Ultimate Hair. OMG haircut was only $13.00 ($9.00 for men). Sarah does a great job! I always giver her $40.00 (for myself and adult son) and that is still a great deal!! I always call late for an appointment, and she always gets me in the next day.
