In Clearwater for a few days, and looking for a good sushi place and this came up. After reading the reviews, we decided to come here and were not disappointed. It's a small restaurant but definitely the sushi selection was great. We got seated pretty quickly with the friendly staff- and they gave us a few moments to go over the menu. The staff was real nice. We wanted to change the combo a little, the waitress went to chef and asked if it was possible to do and they didn't have any issues changing around one of the appetizers for us. The spicy crab salad was great. Definitely had a kick to it! After we ordered and were waiting for our sushi/ and appetizers to come out the chef gave us some chef special rolls which were really good. Some white tail rolls. Yum! I really recommend the Sunset roll so good. I am sure all there rolls are amazing but this was my favorite and really recommend it. All the fish in the sushi were fresh, and actual chunks. Stopped in here for a bite to eat on a random Wednesday night. We arrived around 9 and it was not very busy, which is good because this is a pretty small place. I have been a big fan of nigiri lately, this place did not disappoint. 2 pieces cost about $5, but you get a very decent size piece of fish, bigger then most places around here. You get much more meat then rice with each bite. We also ordered a few sushi rolls to split. The ichiban roll was amazing, my friend was a regular here and recommended it, glad I listened, you should to! One thing I did not like was the plum wine, it was much sweeter then me and my gf are used to (yes we've had it quite a few times). But I won't let that reflect my rating since the food was so good. Great spot for lunch if you work in the area. I have dined in a few times with coworkers and we always get attentive, friendly service. Food is usually prepared very quickly and we can be in and out of there under an hour. Sushi is decent. I have enjoyed the rolls I've ordered, but I've had better at other establishments. But one of my co-workers always orders the nigiri sushi lunch special and she says it is delicious and the fish is very fresh. So difference of opinions so you just have to try for yourself. Awesome lunch specials for either sushi or hibachi or bento boxes. The bento box comes with soup/salad, shumai, cali roll, rice and your choice of protein. I've had the chicken teriyaki before and it is a big portion. BONUS: they have online ordering. I just discovered this yesterday. I placed a sushi and salad order, walked over and paid and picked it up. No long wait times. Sweet! Love places that offer online ordering, especially during lunch. Not sure how this place has so many 4+ reviews, but my food was very disappointing. Tuna Tataki appetizer - very skimp on the ponzu sauce, and tuna was very fishy. Toro sashimi - I was really looking forward to this when I saw it listed on the menu as this is my favorite cut of tuna. However, what came out was not what I expected. I got two pieces of what looked like grey spam. Toro normally has a slight pink color with cloudy fat incorporated as it's the fatty belly section of the tuna, but this was straight up grey and very fishy tasting. Rain Forest roll - Another roll with a very fishy taste and the sauce on top did not compliment the ingredients of the roll at all. Tempura Udon - Another let down as this Udon broth had little to no flavor. Sushi is not supposed to taste overly fishy, but every piece of fish we had here tasted that way. I'm not sure if it was the way it was being stored or it could've been just old. Either way, not a pleasant experience. Only reason for the 2 stars is the staff was very friendly. read more

Friend mentioned this was their favorite sushi place, so of course we had to see for ourselves. It's a very small restaurant with limited street parking. We went a little after the typical dinner time so there was plenty of parking and no wait. We started with a bottle of plum wine. We ordered edamame, pork buns, and Kani crackers for an appetizer. They were all super good and easy to share (4 of us). I also ordered the mushroom soup and I was very impressed. They actually put ALOT of mushrooms in the soup unlike most places. We ordered nigiri of: salmon, tuna, alborcore tuna, eel, swordfish, and mackrol. ALL and I do mean ALL the nigiri was soooooo good. The salmon literally melted in my mouth. High quality fish for sure. I was most impressed with the size of fish. They give you a big portion ! We also ordered the ichiban roll which I highly recommend. The roll came out warm. Ok update... those crab Rangoon were so good we ordered dinner 2 nights in a row from here. Unfortunately while the sushi the night before was amazing, the Japanese dinners were not... we ordered 2 orders of crab Rangoon. They were fabulous! We will give them another try just because of these. The steak & noodles... noodles are good but the steak was a very cheap, gristly cut that we could not even chew. The veggies were good though. The noodle dish was just the steak that was bad. The steak fried rice... was not edible. The rice was so over cooked it was like trying to eat little pebbles. The steak was also terrible. Now thankfully the portions were so huge that we shared the noodles & each had an order of crab Rangoon so we had plenty of food. Unfortunately the steak we picked out & tossed. The steak fried rice all went into the trash. Thankfully we tried the sushi & Rangoon first or we probably wouldn't return. The portion sizes were giant too bad they weren't edible. Honestly I've tried this place a few times, and I'd like to say I'm ordering wrong but every time I order I get something new and it's just ok. The rice has no flavor and it's not bad but I honestly think Publix sushi has more flavor. They do have a good lunch deal, pick 3 different rolls with a soup or salad for $12. read more

The wife had a ginger salad which she loved and before we knew it our sushi had arrived. I've had some amazing sushi in my life so I'll be honest and say it is pretty good here, but not great. I had the Sunset Point roll and found it to be quite tasty. I had another generic roll not worth commenting on, but it was good. MY wife has the Mexico rolls and LOVED them. I had a bite and it was very good. I would order again for sure. After dinner, they bring a piece of orange for you to enjoy. Nice place. Clean. Quiet. Friendly. This is our favorite go to restaurant for sushi and their entrees. The restaurant is warm and cozy and the staff are the most friendly I've experienced in most restaurants. All the sushi plates are right on target. If you're wanting something more I recommend the Bento Box. It is a terrific meal and a good value. It's obvious that this restaurant doesn't care about their customers. I am a frequent customer and they had the temerity to try to charge me $.50 apiece for two orders of Ponsou sauce. No where on the menu does it say that they charge for the sauce. So when I questioned it on the manager made a scene telling me that he let me go this one time for the lousy dollar charge -and I refuse to be intimidated by this idiot. Great place!!! Husband and I came for date night and got seated at a nice table with a bench. Super nicely decorated and a great atmosphere. We got an order of gyoza which were fantastic. I also had a sweet potato roll which was large and delicious. I ordered the pork ramen which was huge and also very delicious. I'm happy to find real ramen in Pinellas and close to home!
