My experience at umami was unfortunate. The first time I called, I spoke to a lady Alice. It was my first time ordering from here and I had no idea what was good, considering it's build your own Poke, I was lost! I asked for a recommendation, and she refused to help me out. I ask what is popular, and she just said "it's build your own.". and at this point she was being rude and impatient. So I'm thinking for a second, and all of a sudden, *click*. Hung up. I try calling back 6 or so times, (I'm trying to place my order ahead of time considering I was busy and didn't have time to wait for them to make it.) So when she finally answers after 10 minutes, she completely pretends like she doesn't know who I am and asks if I can be put on hold. Regardless of my response she hangs up again on me. At this point I'm already pulling up. Food was pretty good, I got a Spicy Tuna and Salmon Poke bowl. 2nd day, I call, I'm ordering. And in the middle of my order she asks if I can be put on hold, puts me on hold for 4 minutes, and then hangs up. So I'm pretty much there, and I go inside and she tells me sorry it's busy. There's no one in the restaurant. Comical. Didn't bother to tell me they were out of rice either. I truly hope that I can say my next experience is better. I do think the food is good, but I don't want the customer service aspect to take away from the food part! Customer service is part of the what retains your customers! People will remember friendly people! read more

I got the poke bowl which was tasty and didn't feel heavy when I was done. I also got the matcha green tea with boba but the drink was a bit watered down and not cold. Like I think they added too much hot water to mix the powder and diluted it when they added the ice (which they strain so your cup doesn't have ice in it) overall I'd come back but maybe get a smoothie with boba. read more

My friend kept insisting that I try this place out. So when I finally went with wife and we both agree that it is Awesome! The people behind the counter were very nice and helped us figure out what to get. We both ordered the Seahawks Roll. I left mine plain and My wife substituted the salmon with eel for herself and she loved it. The flavors were so good that even though I was very full, I would have forced myself to eat another if one was placed in front of me haha just so it wouldn't be wasted! It is technically like a Sushi Subway Hybrid. You can pick what you want and they have tons of fresh ingredients to choose from. They roll it up like sushi and instead of cutting it into 8 sushi pieces they just cut it in half and you eat it like a sub sandwich. Pretty good poke in Everett! I ordered a poke bowl and a Thai iced tea that had jelly in it. Yum! Lots of options for poke and bubble tea, though only three toppings are included. The bowl was decently sized and delicious! Everything seemed really fresh even the avocado, which is a mistake I often see at poke places. Not here! Which one is the regular and which is large? Took out a foodscale and found that you get near the same amount of food anyways, off by 20gr or so. Freshness.. not so fresh. It was date night last night and so we decided to try something new. So glad we did. This place is delicious! We walked in and were immediately greeted even though they were busy with another customer. When it was our turn we told him that it was our first time and didn't really know what to do. He said no problem and that he'd walk us through it. We made some of our own choices as well as asked for his suggestions. What he created was delectable. The amount of rice was just perfect and the flavor was on point. Every bite was yummy. Their samples of Milk Tea flavors also enticed us to order a couple drinks. Perfect for wetting the palate as well as satisfying the sweet tooth. They also offered us their version of Karaage Chicken. Another delicious dish. The chicken was tender and the outside crunchy. It was served with what he called his secret sauce. That was yummy as well, but I could have eaten the chicken without it as well as it was perfectly flavored. We will defintely be back especially after their grand opening and everything on the menu will be available. It was a good date night. read more

I came in the other day and the server named kimmy was so rude to me. I tried greeting her and all she said to me is that it would take 15 minutes before she could even start my order. Also, on the door there is a sign for drivers to come check in and then go back to there cars. But, there was about 5 people standing around waiting for there orders. So I don't see the point in that. I paid $40 for a drink, a sushi burrito and a small poke bowl and it wasn't worth it. Plus it made me sick after, like I was in the bathroom but I won't go into detail about that. So, I wasn't expecting anything epic, this being Everett and all, but I took a chance when I saw it on Uber Eats today, and was very VERY happily surprised. I got a large albacore bowl with avocado, cucumber salad, seaweed salad, crunchy flakes and edamame, with the basic house poke sauce, and also takoyaki. The poke bowl was enormous- possibly the largest poke bowl I've ever seen TBH. Two full meals, easy. The fish was pristinely fresh. To be annoyingly nitpicky, cuts were kinda haphazard; it wasn't the absolutely top grade albacore... but it was so fresh it was completely delicious anyway. It did have a sauce that came on it, with masago, but it wasn't overbearing. No mayo, not too much soy. I really thought the sauce made it. The rice was seasoned perfectly to my taste, which is to say heavy on the rice vinegar. (It was a bit mushy, but I kind of prefer that myself.) The cucumber salad was A+, English cucumber that was still crisp but marinated really well, not too sweet. TONS of avocado for the minimal upcharge, heck yeah worth it all the way! Seaweed salad, meh. It was there. Again for the price the large was ridiculously large indeed, lots of everything. The takoyaki was amazing. Pillowy creamy inside, nice tender tako, Kewpie mayo... yeah it was all that. For the price it was absolutely awesome. The fact that this is in Everett? I can't express how happy that makes me. I don't have to drive to Seattle? Sheer bliss. I will absolutely eat here again. We just had the best food from here! We got poke bowls, sushi burritos for the kids and the chicken karaage. My husband is a big Japanese food snob and is hard to impress but he was blown away by the chicken karaage. They give you a ton of fish and their poke sauce is delicious. The sushi burritos are HUGE! Bigger than I was expecting and my kids were only able to eat half. My 8 year old was so excited to find a nice meaty piece of crab leg in his burrito because he's had his fair share of imitation crab meat at the lower end places- I want to say he was eating the "Seahawk". My husband is a big eater and he was stuffed from the large poke bowl. Usually with sushi we tend to spend a lot and never get very full. Not the case here! You can do burrito or salad bowl it's many ways you can switch it up. Always ask for extra sauce (the brown** my fav** or orange looking one) flavors are finger licking. The food is simple it's all just fresh ingredients mixed with meat, or some fried chicken or shrimp on the side etc, so that sauce will make it pop. Disappointing poke. I ordered the large size and got three small scoops of raw fish in comparison to other poke places. The fish wasn't fresh, tasted watery, and a weird onion taste to the tuna that did not accentuate anything. Everything was doused in masago so it was difficult to taste the fish by itself because everything tasted like salty fish eggs. Nothing stood out taste or quality wise and when the star of the dish (fish) is overshadowed by masago and the fish was poor quality. I wouldn't have serve old fish to customers. I ordered it with sauce on the side so I could really taste what was lacking. Covering it in spicy mayo and poke sauce makes it passable, but I would not return. $18 for a large plus tax is not worth it. I would go to other poke places - mukilteo one is great. read more

I came in to order 3 poke bowls the other day. The server that I had was named Kimmy, based off of the receipt. It was my first time coming so I was excited to eat pokè, and pick out what I like. I greeted the server extremely nicely, and she barely acknowledged me. I told her what I wanted and she disregarded what I said because one of her coworkers came in and instead of listening to me and taking my order she greeted her coworker and said some other things. She made me 3 bowls with the smallest scoop of rice, seriously like half a scoop of rice for 2 of the bowls. At first I was like okay it's fine, no big deal. She might not be having a good day. Once I finished and paid $45 bucks for the smallest poke bowls I've ever seen, I very happily and loudly said thank you, have a great day. And she literally didn't even acknowledge me when I said bye. I understand what it's like to be a server/cashier, it can be hard and customers can be annoying. But I was just genuinely trying to be nice to her. The service makes me never want to go back, so I won't. But I hope that this business trains their employees on the importance's of customer service.
