My son had to get a haircut and wanted to try something different. As my wife and my 3 girls go to Umberto, we decided to go there. It was a very well appointed, bright and clean location. As we had made an appointment, they were already expecting us. My son got his hair shampooed and got ready for his haircut. Jin came and got us, and he was the perfect person to cut my sons hair, as he understood Asian hair and knew how to cut it properly. As my son was going for something different than what he had normally been getting, we were a bit apprehensive, but Jin put our fears to rest when we saw the hairstyle coming through. After the cut, Jin even taught my 10 yr old son how to prepare his hair. Totally cool. Great experience!!! read more

I have been going here since they were on Olympic Blvd. Fabrezio is my stylist and always knows what to do with my fine, medium-length hair. Parking is 2 hours free right across the street and that's a bonus. The salon is always very clean and has a nice vibe. There's a cute small retail store next door with nice stuff. And, I always enjoy browsing through the beautiful jewelry they sell in the salon. Don't hesitate to go. Fabrizio is great! I often see Umberto himself giving haircuts which is cool. read more

Been going to here and having Stella Donny hair for almost 11 years now. I think their prices are so reasonable. Majority of the time I'm taken right away today was actually the longest I had to wait - almost 10 mins past my apt but I don't care. I love getting my hair washed by the ladies in back they always check to make sure you are fine with the water temperature. I really enjoy this location their last place required going up stairs after getting your hair washed which was inconvenient but at their current place it's all one level. read more

I've been going to this Umberto location for a few years now and it's always been solid for me. I get my haircuts with Daniel, who always does a stellar job. He's always super friendly and focuses on his work. The staff is extremely friendly here and I've never had issues booking an appointment. I would say that for men, it is on the pricier side, but you'll never leave looking bad. read more

I am posting this on behalf of a friend of mine who had a terrible surprise while getting her hair done at this salon on Olympic. Apparently her stylist gave her the wrong information regarding the parking situation near to the salon. When she went out to get her car, it had been towed, costing her over $500 to retrieve her car. I think the salon should give her some sort of a credit or a discount based on the fact that they didn't inform her correctly regarding the parking. It would be a nice gesture, considering all the money that she has spent at the salon of the past several years. It sounds like she has been pretty happy with the salon until this happened. read more

Umberto LA is a great salon on Olympic! I've been going to Daniel for my cut and color for almost ten years. He does a great job of listening to what I want done, and at the same time switches up my style up to keep my look updated. Daniel also does a fabulous blow dry and style for me each time I go in. This is coming from someone who has literally cried over haircuts i didn't like in the past, elsewhere. You are in great hands with Daniel! My brother has also gotten his cut by him, and Daniel also does a great job on guy's hair. At Umberto the salon is bright and airy, there in an in-house nail salon, and they also carry a great selection of hair products. It's always a pleasure getting your hair done here. This is a really nice salon, big w/lots of light, white walls and a relaxing tranquil environment. The location is great since it's not in the hustle bustle congested part of Beverly Hills, rather on Olympic Blvd which I appreciate. They also provide Valet parking in the back for $3. My stylist was Kasuyo, who was referred to me by a friend. She did a great job, is very pleasant and she gave me a great cut at a very reasonable price. If you are looking for a high quality place without the attitude at reasonable prices, this is the place. Maybe give Kasuyo a try! read more

They actually called and cancelled my appointment saying they did not think their stylist (who I never met or spoke to) could do what I wanted . This was strictly to avoid a bad review. After 10 years of South County hard-as-rock water damaging and frying my hair to oblivion, I decided I needed real help. One Keratin Treatment with Addy and the fried hair is gone! I'm not sure what modern-day miracle is in this stuff but it changed my hairs DNA - no joke! I cannot believe how soft and manageable each strand is. No more hot blow drying, NO more flat irons...worth EVERY penny! If that's not enough the place is impeccably clean, sleek and modern and VERY approachable. Reception ladies could not be nicer! Easy parking on street and even easier valet in the back. Addy REALLY knows what she's doing and is as sweet as can be!!! I should add that I'm no longer using our disgusting tap water (shame on you SM Water and MN Water districts!!) I'm protecting my investment by rinsing in spring or distilled water only! I have been going to him for close to 10 years and even though I live in SF, I make sure to coordinate my trips to LA so I can get my haircut with him.
