sweet and sour chicken
Brandi D.

We had a fantastic dinner at Ume inside Casino Del Sol on a Friday night! Just a heads up -- it was about an hour wait, so make sure to check in early. The good news is they text you when your table is ready, which makes it super convenient. We had a party of 3 and the process was smooth. Pro tip: Don't forget to scan your Casino Players Card at the machine before heading in! I had a buy 1 get 1 free dinner coupon for Ume, which made the meal even better. As for the food -- everything was delicious. My mom ordered the sweet and sour chicken and absolutely loved it. We also shared the House Singapore noodles, which tasted so fresh and flavorful. I ordered both the orange chicken and the kung pao chicken (thanks to my coupon!), and both dishes were amazing -- perfectly cooked with great flavor and just the right amount of sauce. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and our food came out quickly even though it was busy. Highly recommend if you're at the casino and craving great Asian cuisine. We'll definitely be back!

We were there for my parents wedding anniversary and wait time was 1.5 hrs They LITERALLY made us wait the time they quoted us even if they sat other parties before We are long time customers of the casino/restaurants and hadn't been to UME in a while but my parents wanted sushi so we waited. *[[HIGHLIGHT]]WE SAW A RAT at the table next to us!!!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] *Portions for entrees were really small and not tasteful *Sushi was good *Manager and server were really nice and apologized *Hosts were not nice or professional *[[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant in general smelled bad[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] *Sodas was flat *They gave us tap water *[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was not clean and the bathroom smelled horrible[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] *Manager gave us 20% discount for the inconveniences... not was i was looking for but Thank you, still wouldnt come back This restaurant used to be really popular and very tasteful, bar had good drinks and the placed looked upscale, unfortunately it has gone downhill.

Plastic I found in my rice

I was pretty sure I had reviewed this place but I can no longer find it This is my second time coming to Ume, reluctantly on the request of my mother in law. The first time we had horrible service and sub par quality food. This second time the service was much better but the food was to be expected based on my first experience. Our rice was dry and I found plastic in my chirashi rice (photo attached) The ramen my boyfriend ordered was not a tonkotsu ramen. It was a war wonton soup with noodles, with a whole hard boiled egg. My chirashi was just ok but for the price, there are other places in town worth that amount. My in laws love their Mongolian beef and that's why we keep coming back. People all say the Chinese food is where it's at here. And I'll be trying that the next time we come back. My fortune cookie had no fortune...

Dragon roll

Went here for my brother's birthday this past week. It was a Wednesday evening and it was pretty slow. Our server was pretty meek, and unable to answer questions about the menu. She was nice though. We ordered a couple of drinks (both strong) the tokontsu soup, beef lo mein, a dragon roll, miso soup, anime fries, and wings. When it came to the wings, we asked if we could do half-and-half for the flavors and were told no. The server then said she could bring the sauce on the side so we went with that option. She only brought one of the sauces, which defeated the purpose of getting the sauce on the side , but it's whatever. The anime fries had good flavor however I felt like they were lacking of all the ingredients that were stated on the menu. For instance, the menu said it had cilantro, which I love, but it was more like a garnish than within the meal. They also very much so skimped on the meat that was supposed to be in the fries. I didn't try the Dragon roll, but was told it was pretty soft, in a bad way. They did however, bring out a birthday dessert, which was kind and appreciated. The menu items here are kind of pricey with many of the appetizer options costing as much as entrée options and the food I'd say is okay. If I ate again at the casino, this restaurant would not be my first choice, but probably not the worst choice either.

Lunch special Shrimp Chop Suey
Justin M.

I decided to try the lunch special today and it was good. I had the Shrimp Chop Suey that came with my choice of soup (egg drop) and crispy noodles. The service was excellent and I was happy with the overall dining experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has an Asian theme vibe that is hip and modern.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, for an affordable lunch this place is worth it.

Menu

To preface: service was amazing. We had an excellent waitress. She was pleasant, speedy, and overall a wonderful server. She did a great job. However, in terms of food... I would not recommend Ume. To anyone, probably. I was excited to hear that they have AYCE sushi ($28/per person), and honestly I wasn't expecting it to be necessarily *good* sushi. I went in expecting to be at least a little surprised that the food was better than I was anticipating, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Honestly, it was probably the worst sushi I've ever had. I would rather eat at Sushi Garden than have Casino del Sol sushi again. Honestly, grocery store sushi would be better than Casino del Sol sushi. And way cheaper. Let me get in-depth for those who are interested: from the AYCE menu, I ordered the Vegas, playboy, spicy tuna, and spicy yellowtail rolls. Vegas and playboy came first and I was neither surprised nor disappointed about them. They were middle-of-the road sushi rolls. At least the first couple of bites were. After a couple of chews, I noticed that there was way too much rice, making it a hassle to chew. And because it was 90% rice, that's pretty much all I could taste (other than the EXCESSIVE amount of unagi sauce). The Vegas roll tempura fry made the roll feel even more dense with the absurd amount of rice, so it felt gross to eat. The playboy roll used obviously frozen, store-bought tempura, which I wouldn't complain about that if they weren't selling the roll for $15. So, even though I already ate the cost of AYCE with those two very mediocre rolls, I thought I may as well try the other ones since maybe the more simple rolls who taste better. Boy, was I wrong. I ordered spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail--two rolls that I like and figured could not possibly be worse than the other two. But alas; I don't know exactly what they mix with their fish to make the "spicy" flavor, but it definitely wasn't restaurant quality or standard practice. I'm pretty sure spicy tuna (or spicy yellowtail) is made using sriracha and Japanese mayo, but the spicy rolls at Ume seemed to be made from something weirdly sour, but familiar. It kind of reminded me of Tajin? Either way, Tajin-flavored tuna with a thick, THICK skin of rice was just making me sick to eat. I could not finish it, try as I might. I like mediocre sushi sometimes, but this was below mediocre. I honestly feel bad for the fish that was made to make these rolls, which sounds harsh, but I genuinely don't think I could eat here again. Maybe I'll like the Chinese food though (lol).

Bar area unclean

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Food okay, but was turned off by black goop around bar area[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Ordered a Cadillac Margarita and had to wait while they went to another bar to get liquor.

Crab Rangoon
Markiesa B.

This is more of a 3.5 rating. The bartender was friendly, quick and attentive so no takeaways from the service . I just felt like the food missed the mark with some things. I went during happy hour and for the crab ragoons($5), a shrimp roll($8) and a well vodka and cranberry ($5). The drink was good, the ragoons could've had a sauce on them but instead a dipping sauce came on the side , it was a bit sweet. The ragoons were also a bit too crispy so I had to watch my mouth. The sushi roll was ok I've had better. For this to be a hotel Asian spot I didn't expect top notch so it is what it is.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice atmosphere in this Asian restaurant located inside the casino.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They offer sushi and fairly standard Asian dishes. The server came shortly after we received our menus. We were ready and hungry. We ordered the chicken lo mein, egg drop soup, hot & sour soup, fried rice, & teriyaki chicken. Service was pleasant and quick. The soups came out within minutes of ordering along with won ton strips. The soups were good especially with the won ton strips. Watch out for the hot & sour soup. The heat will sneak up you. My friend was blowing her nose at the end. The entrees came out. My friend's meal was lukewarm at best. She sent it back. The lo mein was meh at best. The chicken was blah as were the noodles. Even with soy sauce, the meal was still average. The teriyaki dish was returned and now hot. It was better but she said the dish lacked taste. Too bad cuz it looked good. I found one slivered carrot and 2 small pieces of cabbage in my meal. A few more veggies might have helped. Shared parking lot.

This is always my go to when I'm at the casino. I have even made a special trip just for this food! The appetizers are so good and they have happy hour every day! The service is always fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance feels nicer but casual since it's in a casino.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Always look forward to coming here.

Shrimp fried rice

Ume is located within the Casino. Rosalie waslovely and was very helpful in helping to choose options! Try the calamari, potstickers and crab Rangoon for appetizers. For entrees, we enjoyed the delicious del sol roll (comes to table on , see images), playboy roll, chicken teriyaki, shrimp fried rice, and shrimp lo mein. For dessert, try the cheesecake, lychee panache and the passion fruit gelato!

So I searched Yelp and I found this gem, Jun Dynasty. We traveled an hour and forty minutes from Maricopa to try this place. I could've traveled to other Chinese restaurants in half the time in and around Phoenix and Scottsdale, but something just intrigues me about Tucson. Jun is located in an older part of Tucson and its location can be misleading. But trust me, you want to try this place. We were immediately greeted and seated after we entered the establishment. We were handed menus and asked what we'd like to drink and I ordered Oolong tea and water. The menu included several authentic dishes not found at other Chinese restaurants. I kept it simple though and ordered Walnut Shrimp for my wife, Steamed Dumplings in Peppercorn sauce, Salt & Pepper Fried Fish, and Bok Choy. Steamed dumplings were the first dish brought out. I ordered this because my wife can't eat anything spicy. Well this had a kick to it even I wasn't expecting. It was numbing, literally! Some restaurants will even list this type of dish as cooked in numbing oil. Soon after swallowing the dumpling, a numbing sensation enveloped our tongues. Sorry honey; I thought I ordered a mild dish. I ended up eating all of them. It was hard tasting the other dishes because of the numbing effect. The walnut shrimp came out next and I have to say, they were probably the best I had; even better than Fat's in Sacramento who set the bar back in the day. My wife devoured them. Bok choy was brought out next and she also loved them. They were served with I think a garlic sauce and it was very tasty. The Salt & Pepper fried fish were delivered last and they were also good. However, my wife preferred the walnut shrimp. I did have better S & P fish elsewhere, but these were still good. I can't speak enough about the staff. They were the friendliest I ever experienced in a Chinese restaurant. Our server always checked on us to make sure everything was fine. They all even said good-bye when we left. Yeah, I picked a good one!

The…read moreappetizer was so much fun: 2 Egg Rolls, 2 Crab Puffs, 2 Shrimp Tempura, 2 Beef Kabobs, 2 BBQ Ribs. The egg rolls are huge, crispy, and not the least bit greasy. The shrimp tempura is light and crisp. The beef kabobs are well flavored and cooked crispy, which is an interesting and yummy presentation, The ribs are large and flavorful. The crab puffs are amazing! We could have eaten ten of them; a crisp outside is stuffed with a melting cheesy crab mixture. Divine! House -made Chinese mustard (so good and really clears out the sinuses!) and sweet dipping sauces completed the appetizers. I've reviewed our entrees before and they are as delicious as always. I had the Three Delight Moo Shu, a platter filled with fresh vegetables, shrimp, and chicken; accompanied by sauce (hoisin?) and rice pancakes. I enjoy making my little "burrito" bites! My dining friend had the Mongolian Three Delight; shrimp, chicken, and beef prepared with at least three kinds of onions and a mildly spicy sauce, and a large bowl of rice. My friend has a spice-loving palate, and was brought a bowl of hot chili sauce. Visible pepper flakes floated in the sauce and it was pronounced perfect. I love being greeted by name and the food is scrumptious. Golden House is immaculate throughout and it is a pleasure to visit and enjoy their food. See you next month, Ming!

KP was a tad too sweet and would make that adjustment in future, had mid level heat as served-- overall 4/5 hubby enjoyed. Snow Peas were a bit tough, chewy vs tender and snappy. Maybe a parboil to tenderize before quick wok hit ? and velveted beef had decent texture and flavor 3.75/5 a bit chewy and garlicky brown sauce aok. Portions are fair, you may have leftovers if you aren't really hungry but hubby easily ate his KP but only 1/3 of a heaped rice bowl. $3.50 for a small single pot of black tea (oolong?) was a bit stee, they got too busy to ask for more H20, but the free upgrade on brown rice more than makes par haha Overall a 3.8/5 for flavor and quality, Golden House is good. But still searching for a Go-to on SE side... Chef Wang still shines brighter for us: authenticity, wok hei, fresh bamboo shoots, tofu skin wraps, clay pot with Chinese dried mushrooms, variety on menu... although, alas no brown rice :/ Thankful though for this family Chinese restaurant, a quickly iconic mainstay of US dining, nearing extinction in many towns. So truly am thankful for GH preparations today!

Promptly seated, drinks brought out, order taken and food delivered fast, hot and correct. The background music was some chinese music tv station playing modern easy listening tunes and, along with the comfortable chairs and solid table made for a relaxing environment. The food? meh. You can see our order in the latest photo and how expensive it was. the Lo Mein was mostly tasteless and certainly lacking in thast "lo mein flavor." Although the meat was tender, the sauce was just a sticky brown sauce. Surprisingly, the Spicy Pickle Tofu was essentially the same sticky brown sauce as the Lo Mein but with some fried tofu in it and without the noodles but nothing otherwise remarkable. You can tell by looking at my earlier picture attached. The old picture shows a bright and colorful plate. The dish today was a dark brown (you could hardly see the tofu from the beef) as everything was just dark. Eggplant seemed to have a similar brown sauce as well but the eggplant was otherwise tasteless. Nothing popped. Chicken bites were bland and not at all crunchy. Just fried to soft texture but no real flavor. According to our server, the menu was just recently updated about a month ago. We noticed because one of our favorites was the Fried Taro Pie which is now gone from the menu and the server said yes, that's right.
