My family and I went there for lunch inbetween my nephews soccer games. My mom used to live in Davie and we used to come here all the time and were always treated well. Today, when we walked in, we were greeted by no one and in fact the lady who ended up being our waitress looked at us, shook her head and then rudely pointed us to the other side of the restaurant to sit. I have worked in restaurants in the past for years, my mother and sister have as well and always treat other servers with respect and tip well. So not sure if the way were were immediately judged was because my brother in law is Hispanic and my niece and nephews are half Hispanic but whatever the reason, we would never come back. The whole experience felt like we were invading the servers day and bothering her when we asked for literally anything. The only time she was even nice was when she dropped off the check. In fact she "accidentally" added 3 baskets of fries to the check, I assume to see if we would notice and because she assumed we wouldn't leave a tip. It was my nephews 10th bday, but because of how rude she was, we didn't even want to ask them if they would be kind enough to sing Happy Birthday and bring a dessert, but knew this request would only be met with annoyance by our server, just like any other request was. We planned to bring the soccer team here next weekend, but would honestly rather go to the gas station than put up with the attitude again. I guess if you are an older bar fly, you will be greeted and treated like family, but if you happen to be brown, black or have children with you, don't expect any kindness until the check is brought to the table. Also triple check what your being charged before paying the bill. In addition, we still left a 10 dollar tip on a 50 bill. I sincerely hope that will maybe give this insanely rude woman a better attitude when the next family walks in not ordering beer. Stopped in here after driving 5 hours and looking for a place that was open at 11:30pm in this area. We walked in and sat by the bar, ordered our food, and it was out in less than 10 minutes. We were over joyed, mostly because we were starving. Food was good, service was good, and it was not too busy at all. Seems like a good pool hall to grab drinks/food with friends. Unfortunately we just wanted food then bed, so we did not stick around long after finishing our food. I will say that the buffalo chicken sandwich was much better than the sliders, as the meat on the sliders was quite small compared to the buns. All in all, it was great for what we expected. This is a local Pub, not a family high end restaurant. It is a family friendly place all the same. The staff are all helpful and attentive. Coming from Buffalo I can say these are the Best wings outside of the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY. The breaded winds are crisp , hot, tasty and lots of sauces to choose from. My wife and I sat at the bar and Tommy was our server. He is friendly and engaging, like talking to an old friend. However the other servers were also watching to see if we needed anything. The place is deceiving from the outside which looks like a simple Pub. Inside is well lighted and lots of gams and pool tables. I saw small family groups playing pool and other activities. I was out with the family they chose uncle Al's. I had chicken wings and shared a loaded baked potato. The place was packed solid and as with most restaurants they're having staffing issues. The chicken wings arrived on the cold side but I didn't complain, I was just happy to eat out again with my family. They were struggling to keep up with the packed house. One of Davie's best local spots! Great for the entire family, fun for the kids, great to watch sports, good food and cold beer. Took the boys after baseball today and the staff has done a great job adjusting to the new policies. They had signs outside to tell you maximum amount of people per table. They had hand sanitizer at the entrance, tables marked off clearly, signs at the restrooms for capacity, two options for the menu (QR scanner and also paper) and every table had a sign informing you the limit of people for sitting and also had hand sanitizer on it as well. I've been coming here with my family for at least 18 years. The food is great, the old bay shrimp is my favorite (I only wish they put the shrimp in the butter instead of giving the butter on the side). I also think they have the BEST curly fries ever! They are seasoned very well and always so crunchy. The wings are also so good! The teriyaki chicken sandwich is also very popular among my family, as well as the wings. I love the mixture of hot, garlic, and teriyaki sauce on the wings. There is only one thing I can suggest, and that is to get dyna bites!! I hate writing this. I have been a loyal customer of Uncle Al's for over 40 years. Yes 40 years. Driving a weekly from Miami Lakes to Davie a 30 mile round trip just for the food, service & people. But what the owner did was just cruel. That is why with an heavy heart I am writing this review. Uncle Al's has daily specials. They are great as is all the food. You can find me for fall off the bone rib night. Fish fry every Friday & the fantastic prime rib Saturday nights. I prefer their prime rib over Capital Grill & Wolf's steak both 4 star. In fact restaurant "The Forge" also 4 stars we closed around the pandemic for several reasons. Truth be told I like their prime rib better here. And everything is extremely reasonably priced. Their appetizer sampler chili just stop in. However, I guess all good things come to an end. And it's heartbreaking. Not just the food but I know most servers by name. A good friend of mine an ED doctor went to Greenwich Hospital at the start of pandemic when 36 doctors had Covid. He ask me if I could look after his mother which of course was no problem. Unfortunately, she went to assisted living a little over a year ago. In visiting & bringing her stuff I got to know some of the residents. One in particular was a great guy, a veteran &!retired detective. He had no family to speak off so I became his friend. Every Saturday I would call Uncle Al's & pick up prime rib, ribs for another resident, onion rings & a hamburger. This was all on me of course. Last Saturday I called in my order as usual & an extremely rude server answered the phone. When I started to give her my order & got to the prime rib her exact words "we don't do specials to go". I have been getting the prime rib to go every Saturday which is the only day it's made. "I don't know what place you have been calling but it's not here." Can I please speak to the manager. "He's busy & you must have called someplace else. We don't do specials to go, never " CLICK she hung up. I called back again "are you deaf & I guess stupid? I said we don't do specials to go & he's busy". Please I have several people waiting on dinner. "Fuck". Then the manager got on. "She told you we no longer do specials to go". I was in last night for the fish & chips. ------ even said I'll see you tomorrow when you pick up order. The manger kept repeating "the owner said no more to go on the specials" the CLICK. I called back & he picked up but I heard the server say "is it that stupid deaf fuck again?". I have no idea who this was. For over 40 years the staff been fantastic. I mean wonderful in every sense of the word. I explained to him they were waiting, expecting dinner, they don't have much to look forward too, just make one not even mine, work something out next week & pay whatever it takes. "NO!!! THE OWNER SAID NOT MORE TAKEOUT OF THE SPECIALS" CLICK. I explained who they are, can't leave please whatever it takes. Yesterday she even said see you tomorrow. So not only really heart broken losing an institution to me including the great staff whom I knew more then as servers/customer. Friend was a better description. He left me with no dinners, no time their on a schedule not even asking if I would like other items. I always tip everyone well. And was even told the week before it was slow so plenty of prime rib left. This was so much more then a piece of meat. Some people look forward to something it's all they have. Especially when they know it's really good. I really hate leaving this review. I don't want to see a good place Uncle Al's possibly lose customers as they have lost me. The great staff who depend of customer's tips. If the owner thinks by not having take out of specials the customer would drink more. I don't drink at all. My entire family were killed by a 3 time drunk driver who was twice over the limit on Thanksgiving day when I was 18. My dad & uncle Korean war veterans know how lonely the VA was. I've noticed up and down reviews for this place and one day I was craving chicken wings so what the heck, I gave it a try. I can see why people call this a dive bar because even if it's located in a shopping plaza, the restaurant has no windows and looks questionable. We walked in the door and was happy to find a sport's bar. I can see why some people complain about the service just based on the layout. The booths are tall and some hidden in corners so it may be hard for a customer to get the waitress' attention, especially on busy days. For our experience, we had no problems and service was pretty fast. Our waitress took our orders and we had our food brought out in a few minutes. I was impressed! We ordered conch fritters, seasoned fries, and 20 wings. I like coming here because prices are cheap and they have daily specials (I think chicken wings specials on Monday). Their wings were perfectly crispy on the outside, moist inside, and were bigger than the average-- let's say bigger than those scrimpy wings at Hooter's. The conch fritters were okay, too much breading & too little conch for my liking. I've been coming to this place since I was a kid. They have great wings and awesome daily specials. Very cheap drink specials as well. Buckets of bud, bud light, miller light etc for $12 bucks and change on Wednesday's and Sunday's..you can't beat that! Plenty of tv's and pool tables. Great for families as well. They have a variety of food options including sandwiches, some seafood (clams and shrimp), burgers, wings and wraps. The atmosphere has that divey feel which I love. You can't beat their Monday wing special. 10 wings for $7.xx or 20 wings for $15.xx all day long! Also their double shots for $5.xx. They also offer double shots for $5.95. The perfect place to stop in for a quick lunch or stay and watch a game. Super friendly staff made me feel welcome from the moment I stepped inside. Plenty of seating with booths, tables and bar areas and several pool tables if the desire to shoot a few games should arise. As for their food it is pleasantly good. Not your typical flash fried greasy bar food but well prepared to order and tasty. Not that they dont do fried but what is done is done right. Of special mention is their burgers and wings. Always good, always fresh and a great deal for the cost. If your in the area and looking for a great local pub then look no further. Here it is. This used to be one of my hang out spots when I was a kid. I haven't been in here since the summer of '96 (yeah I'm that old!!). Anyway, I walked in today (2/10/22) and the bar/restaurant look exactly the same as I left it 25 years ago. Had the lunch special (6 piece wing...medium/well done...fries/celery/ranch/unsweetened ice tea). I was greeted promptly by the bartender (never got her name). However, she will remember me because I said to her before we got started I said to her, "do you need to see my vaccination card in order to serve me"?) she said, no, we don't do that here!! I said, great, then I will fit right in with the crowd. So then the girl that was sitting a few stools down (her name was Jessica) from me starting talking to me and we had a great conversation about her life and her life in the medical field. (If you bartender's that we here today between 3-5 and know her personally...tell her that I'm here till Tuesday and wouldn't mind having lunch with her before I leave....thanks!!) I placed an order for pick up over $130 on chicken wings . My friend sat at a chair near their service bar. The manager didn't like this. Older white male, salt and pepper, called my friend an asshole for being in their way and continues to dismiss us as we attempted to order a drink while we waited on our order. In all honesty, my friend didn't hear his first request, and we were ordering drinks, well that didn't sit well. He called us an asshole multiple times and then insisted we go back to our "trailer park". I'm visiting this area, I live in Dania, but my friend, she is a regular at this restaurant. Talk about embarrassed! This was a terrible experience for regulars. I would hate to assume this person was on drugs or drinking but he did say he was a manger, and even the bartender kept apologizing on his behalf and saying this was unheard of. He insisted we leave , and because of this we left our order of food and only paid for bar drinks. On Sunday, November 21, 2021 my girlfriend and I and our five children were extremely disappointed in everything. The fish and chips was obviously frozen food from Winn-Dixie or Publix and heated in a microwave oven., Absolutely disgusting and inedible.. The original Half pound hamburger had no taste and was closer to a quarter pound burger served on stale bread that crumbled in your hands..I've had much better hamburgers at McDonald's and Burger King.. I asked for 30 buffalo style chicken wings extra crispy well done. We received undercooked wings served in a soup like bowl of liquid grease..I'm sure the waitress understood our disappointment when we left every bit of it on the table.. The baby back ribs my son ordered were cold and obviously heated too much in the microwave leaving no taste.. It was as if the cook that day was there to sabotage the restaurant. Large and tasty chicken wings are my go-to at Uncle Al's in Davie, usually with a side of their yummy homemade potato chips (with spicy ranch dip). That's just what I ate today with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The fried green beans on the appetizer menu also are a tasty treat. Pros: Big wings that are perfectly cooked. Very friendly staff who leave piles of napkins on your table without you having to ask for them (love that!). Quick service. Big bar with lots of stools. Pool tables. Cons: The lack of windows feels strange and the atmosphere is a little dated. It definitely has a bar atmosphere that I'm not sure would be good for kids. So I am a south florida native and I finally went to this place. I picked it because my boyfriend loves wings and playing pool. The way the place is set up is kind of unusual as the booths are either for 2 or 10. We probably would have been more comfortable sitting at the bar so we could scope things out. Also, they have 4 long change pool tables set up in the middle of the place (the smaller ones might work better) You can certainly tell this is a local hang out. So we get seated in our tiny booth (nice for 2 people) but we are kind of tucked away. We order 2 beers. I got a bud light bottle and my bf got a yuengling draft. When she brought them over I started laughing. His mug was so tiny! It was like kid size and it was 2.20. He ended up going to the bar and got a pitcher for 12.00 not cheap in my opinion. Of course we ordered the wings, honey garlic and naked (unbreaded) Yes, they are good size but really they werent anything special. I've had better. A little on the well done side also. We also split a order of cheese fries. Those were yummy. Our server was decently attentive and pleasant. Would I go back? Probably not.
