Don't sleep on Uncle Andre's! Everything is GREAT and can't beat the prices. Portions are nice size. They have lunch specials daily Monday to Friday from 12-2.

If only you could SMELL this! I was in the mood! Uncle does NOT disappoint!! Get yours. Enjoy!!

Being a 70 year old BBQ connasuer from the South, who stops at any BBQ restaurant I see, anywhere in the world, I was fortunate to find this place & Joe, yesterday. 10 out of 10!!!

Half rack of baby backs, Mac and cheese, and candied yams

Finally tried this place after having it on my list for probably about a year. Ordered two half rack baby back plates. Both with Mac and cheese, one with corn, one with yams (because they were all out of beans, sadly). It took close to 20 minutes from when I ordered to when I was out the door with our food and then about another 20 minutes until I was home and our food was still really hot. Mac and cheese was tasty and had a homemade feel. Yams were good but could have been a little sweeter, but that's just a personal preference. I was actually taken aback when I opened the box and saw how much meat was on those rib bones! The bark was on point! The meat was perfectly tender (not quite falling off the bone but close) and cooked well. I personally prefer a little more of a sweet saucy bbq rib, though. These are definitely not sweet at all and are only ever so slightly sticky. Again, personal preference and could be remedied by just having a little of my own bbq sauce on hand. Overall, it was tasty and the guy who took my order was super friendly. And for the price, you can't beat it! (21 dollars for a half slab and two sides). They take cash and zelle. Which I knew the zelle part before I ordered because I wanted to try the peach cobbler but didn't have enough cash on me to add that on. Will definitely be back to try some other items like the brisket and the fried catfish!

(Took Out 02/13/24 TU @ 4:00pm): Uncle Dre's BBQ for Fat Tuesday! For my carnivore fix before the start of Lent season that resulted in my annual cleanse of no alcohol and meat, I sought out Uncle Andre's BBQ as a new BBQ place for me to try. The pictures and reviews on Yelp sold me, and coincidently I was working in the area which made it very convenient. I always harped on the fact that there were no BBQ joints in my Silver Lake hipsterhood (I guess it wasn't healthy enough), but the San Fernando Valley had ample choices. Would Uncle Andre send me into BBQ bliss!? PURCHASE 6pc Half Baby Back Ribs Dinner w/Mac & Cheese & Macaroni Salad Sides ($20.95): Each rib was meaty, sizable, and very tender as everything fell off the bone. The sauce was slightly sweet and tangy and just enough to cover the meat. Under normal conditions, I would've ordered a full rack and had some leftovers the next night, but I couldn't do that this time around. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1ja-2fKFckizb62h4gL-5Q&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Side Mac & Cheese (Included): Creamy, gooey, hearty, and peppery this was a lovely meal in itself with plenty of extra cheese. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=SBjW5iisuhgPMHv0Ooft4g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Side Macaroni Salad (Included): Wonderfully firm pasta with barely any mayonnaise (a plus!) but it seriously needed some pineapple (that's how I liked it). https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HKyS_A5EKXvQ3YXRCrK70g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 2pc Chicken BBQ Dinner w/Baked Beans & Cole Slaw Sides ($14.95): A gigantic breast and thigh were the parts I received, and I couldn't be happier! The meat was so moist and tender while the sauce was the same as the ribs. I stuffed myself with all of this goodness. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HL0zPtcUP_l3F7kxmeQrXQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Side Cole Slaw (Included): I usually wasn't a cole slaw fan, this was actually nice, crunchy, a tad peppery, some spice, and not very soupy - well done! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9HMOggUkSnmncimtCaMYBQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Side BBQ Baked Beans (Included): Soft beans simmered in the lovely aforementioned barbecue sauce, I was tooting my own horn a couple of hours later. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CPI6t7VI5YsnL7fZI-IztQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Peach Cobbler ($5.00): An enjoyable dessert with chunks of crust and peach, plenty of cinnamon, served warm, and all of the gooey juices was simply soothing. I wished I had an entire pie or leftovers. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=uB-B0JkdIOeXccsQcQLUUA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Credit Card Fee ($1.00): It was all good! SERVICE I was greeted by two gentlemen behind the tiny order counter. I quickly knew what I wanted and placed my order. I took a seat and relaxed while I watched the constant flow of customers who picked up their orders. About 15 minutes later, my order was packed and ready to go. Everything was easy and straightforward - greatly appreciated! PARKING (FREE) They shared a small parking lot with a handful of other businesses in a tiny strip mall. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drags of Moorpark St. (where I parked), Colfax Ave., and all surrounding side streets - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A quaint eatery that was mainly a takeout restaurant with a couple of booths and chairs/tables https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1pSwMsDTkPAZ5iWHN53iKg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw to enjoy your meal onsite. Many framed celebrity photos hung on peach-colored walls. Easily legible menus https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rCCBmMjUjmRnUu8TMJZCqw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw hung above the order counter. A decent amount of natural light came through the large glass wall windows and doors while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There was one TV while disco, hip-hop, and soul music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=mHuL2svdIenqHwmNjVxR1A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Uncle Andre's BBQ happily led me into Lent, and I couldn't wait to return to try more of their Southern food and varied menu. I loved the portion sizes and service, while I felt the prices were maybe a tad high (but dammit, the food was good!). And of course, I was happy to support another small mom & pop local business! I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $46.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Uncle Andre..... where you been all my life?? This place is small with 4 tables for dining. I ordered combo platter with greens and mac and cheese and the piece of chicken fried. I must say this is the best bbq I have had since moving to Los Angeles. Finally a place that uses seasoning. The fried chicken, seasoned well while being crispy and juicy. Brisket was thinly sliced and tasty. Hot link.... I'm mad I didn't order two of them I'm wanting more. Babybackribs are good, but I enjoyed the other meats better. those greens though....so flavorful. Mac and cheese was also good. We have a peach cobbler that we have not tried yet but I am sure I won't be disappointed. Parking was my biggest complaint about this restaurant. I would bring someone with you so they can run in and grab your order.

Half Slab Baby Back Ribs Dinner
    Mai N.

The sides in my opinion were okayyy.. However, 4 stars to Uncle Andre's because they have a niche that cannot be found elsewhere. Their bbq is the type of bbq you only find at cookouts. The bbq immediately transported me to a summer day at the park with friends and family.

Nice, friendly, family oriented restaurant and the food speaks for itself!! This is one of my favorite BBQ places to go!! Highly recommended to all!! Service is great! There's several options when it comes to BBQ, and the sides are amazing!!

Did this spot get shut down? I've need trying to call in and order but no one answers and I drove by and it was closed with a help wanted sign

They operate their hours based on mood from what I've gathered from them. For instance, they are supposed to stay open till 9pm this evening (Monday) and it is 6:30 and they have already closed for the night. This happens to me at least 4 times out…

    Can you bring in alcohol?

Take-out only, and after getting everything home and spending about $84.00 for 3 meals, I was salivating in anticipation. The cornbread muffin was my first sampling. A bit on the sweeter side but moist and delicious. Potato salad? A no, a big no, way too bland. Then I tried the Mac & cheese, something most BBQ spots never seem to get quite right. That was the verdict for this very dry side here as well. So what about the Tri-tip? They were completely out of their Brisket by the way, other than their burnt ends. And that wasn't much to speak of. Nor was the Tri-tip minus the sauce which is given on the side. The sauce was up to par. The only protein that was pretty decent was the chicken, even the breast was moist and tender. But the cornbread, sauce and chicken weren't enough to save this sinking ship. The wife and I also shared a side of their way too watered down, and poorly seasoned yams. Rather mushy with we guessed way too much maple syrup, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar, and who knows what else. I don't believe we finished any more than half of our sides. Just all around disappointing and we definitely won't be back.

Most BBQ places concentrate on the meat and leave the sides as afterthoughts so that means cornbreads tend to be disappointingly dry. Not this one. This cornbread was moist and flavorful. The mac and cheese was just okay. Should have gone with the beans. My dining companion and I also got to sample some sliders and they were pretty damn good. Wish those had been on the menu. Service was good although, most people were taking their food to go. The atmosphere inside was warm for a cool day and almost too warm as my companion had to shed her jacket before we started eating so she wouldn't overheat. Not sure I'd be able eat inside on a hot summer day. They do cater and parking is street and a miniscule parking in the back. I believe it's only credit/debit only, but check first. Unfortunately, this time the experience didn't quite meet my expectations. Don't get me wrong, the food wasn't bad. My disappointment was more about the value and portion size for what I paid. Three slices of brisket, a small cup of pulled pork, and three small sides came to around $60. Not to mention, the pulled pork was rather dry. There were no dinner rolls or cornbread included either. I was also disappointed with how the food was packed for my to-go order. Proper packaging is important, especially when transporting food, because leaks can make a mess in your car or elsewhere. Unfortunately, the packaging did not seem secure enough to prevent that, and it did not add much value to the overall experience. For that price, especially after making a 20-mile drive, I expected either a more generous portion or something exceptional enough to justify the cost. If the price had been more reasonable, or the quantity better matched the price, I definitely would have considered coming back. Unfortunately, at $60 for what I received, it just wasn't worth the drive for me.

My go to order is their grilled chicken breast, or their tri tip 7 oz with the side of sweet mash & Mac n cheese -- it hits every time! I am obsessed with their sweet mash it's a must have for me. I highly advise you to ask for the garlic bread rolls with bbq sauce on the side 10/10 !!! The service at this location was very pleasant. From the host, to our server, everything was top tier each time we visited. The location is extremely well up kept, clean, & everyone works & moves very organized. I love that. I work in restaurant management so seeing this when I go out is a green flag for me. Will definitely be back soon! Parking tip: located next door there is a parking garage for the restaurant, I believe its 90 minutes, or just restricted to only wood ranch grill customers, either way its FREEEEE:)

The service was cool, however they did mess up my order and I was already starting to eat. They said I had to give up the other plate even though the salmon was cooked wrong it still was looking satisfying!!! The potatoes were better though than my new salmon plate. It was pretty busy for a Sunday but the service was pretty fast at the bar. It's clean inside and modern. Right next to the fun stuff in Burbank. I will come back here again. ! -Marshay D.

We were genuinely excited to find a BBQ spot we enjoyed, and for a while, we were happy customers. Unfortunately, over time, our experience became increasingly disappointing, particularly when it came to the size and consistency of the ribs. The first couple of times we ordered, the ribs looked like a standard, reasonable portion. But on our later visits, we noticed that the ribs appeared noticeably smaller. It wasn't just a one-time observation; after seeing the difference several times, we decided to call and ask about it. We weren't looking for anything unreasonable, we simply wanted an explanation and some consistency in what we were paying for. We were told, "Sorry, we'll have our manager get back to you." We appreciated that someone would supposedly follow up, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It has now been a couple of months, and we have never received a call, email, or any kind of follow-up. That part is honestly just as disappointing as the portion issue. Bludso's prices are high, and when you're paying premium prices for BBQ, you expect the quality and portions to be consistent. We understand that food costs, labor, and operating a restaurant are expensive, we're not expecting bargain prices. But when a restaurant charges what Bludso's charges, customers have every right to expect that the portions will be consistent and that legitimate concerns will be taken seriously. In a time when the cost of everything continues to rise and people have to think carefully about where they spend their money, spending more at a restaurant should come with the expectation of getting a quality experience. If we're willing to pay higher prices, we expect the food and customer service to reflect that. What really sealed the deal for us was that we actually tried to address the issue directly. We didn't immediately leave a negative review or complain online. We called the restaurant, explained our concern, and gave them an opportunity to respond. Unfortunately, the fact that nobody ever bothered to follow up after promising that a manager would contact us left us feeling like our business and feedback simply weren't important. We enjoyed Bludso's when we first discovered it, which makes this even more disappointing. But there are plenty of BBQ options out there, and at these prices, we don't feel there's a reason to continue spending our money somewhere that doesn't provide consistency or follow through with its customers. We tried. We gave them multiple chances. We reached out and gave them an opportunity to make it right. Unfortunately, we've moved on. No more Bludso's for us.
