Came here last Sunday.. Barely any customers. Maybe the most 5 sets of people.. 2 young men waiters. We placed our orders.. We had to ask for the bread. Waiter just was curt.. and all that.. Sat and watched this is 8pm.. I know when I come here its usually super late at night more people.. but a 24 hour diner no customers.. Somethings wrong.. So we get our food. Chicken Cesar Salads. The waiter never ever checked on us.. I talk to my friend and tell him that.. The only reason this place is probably in business is because of the jobs around it that people come late night for food.. But to have the waiter not care and just sit around and watch soccer.. We come here often. Food is wonderful and on point. We always get the same waiter so he knows what we like and its clean. He makes sure our food is prepared right or he takes it off the bill. The owner knows us to. So theres never an issue. The food is tasty and never had a problem. We have ordered pretty much everything. Pancakes burgers salads fries etc. we love it here. read more

I would give zero stars in if could. I was dining at your location today and I was appalled to see that server went up to a handicapped woman who was sitting in a booth, that he was told to tell her that he could not sit there. DISGUSTING! How dare a restaurant not accommodate someone using a walker, and then have the nerve to tell them "you can't sit here". I used to come to this diner very frequently. The food was okay, but I enjoyed the atmosphere because it reminded me of the restaurant my aunt owned when I was a child. The waitresses were always very polite. However, the last two times I have been here, I observed the owner talking down to her staff. She was very rude to them and I felt very uncomfortable watching it. The diner was very busy on those two days and it looked like they were short staffed, but doing their best. I usually come here to have breakfast, and I leave satisfied. I just left Uncle Bill's and was very shocked that they charge for hot water. I've seen the guy, I think his name is George, put regular fountain water into the machine to boil. Our waitress told us it's in the menu, yet I have come here a thousand times and was never charged for hot water. Uncle Bill's must really be hitting hard times when you charge the same price for hot water and coffee. For that I would of just ordered coffee, so a fare warning to those who are going to order hot water at this diner. Pretty soon their going to probably charge for water, and if that's the case just bring your own cup and get free refills from the restroom. They should also tell the waiters and waitresses to let the customers know that they charge for regular fountain water. While I've eaten here a few times, I won't be eating here again. It's your basic diner menu, decent selection, but the food is just ok. They don't always have items listed - i.e. twice now they've had no grits, which is listed on the menu. It's a small dining area with the seating a little too close. Though it has an A rating, I'm not sure I believe it. After I ate most of my meal today I saw that the jelly packet that was on my plate, touching my food, had syrup and crumbs stuck to the bottom & sides of it - I didn't have syrup nor did anyone at the table, and there wasn't syrup on the table. It appears that this packet was on someone else's plate, touched & dirtied but unopened, so they used it again, on my plate where it touched my food. No idea how many times this packet has been plated, touched, dropped, spilled on, etc... before it ended up on my plate. Ick. read more

Being new to the College Point/Flushing area, I have been looking for a good diner that offers a good selection at a reasonable price. Based on the reviews for Uncle Bills Diner and the fact that it has been around so long were reason enough for us to try this local spot out. A plus point is that it is right off the service road, has a huge parking lot and you can go to Pathmark afterwards to get your groceries done on the weekends as well! When we went there were only about 4 other people seated, the decor is outdated, but adds old school charm to the diner with mirrors everywhere. The service was haphazard in that we had a busboy get us our drinks, the female owner (seems like she was the owner) casually took our order while she was on her cellphone while speaking in Russian (?) to someone on the phone, not giving us our utmost attention or allowing us to ask her questions because we felt as if we were interrupting her conversation. The waffles my wife got were wayyyy undercooked, center was mushy almost raw, tasted dry-cardboard like, Ihop couldve done these better. The omelet I received was runny and seemed as if the peppers and onions were overly abundant as opposed to the eggs. The other time I went there for brunch with a friend and aside from overly priced sandwhiches and seafood, it was nothing to rave about or draw me back there again for attempt number three. With Uncle Bill's what you see is what you get. This is not the place you take a date on a Friday night. This is not a place you would even go for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. As a matter of fact I probably would never eat here before 11 PM. This is a place you go when you got the munchies at 3:45 AM and you want a cheeseburger but don't want to deal with the morning aftertaste of the 24 HR McDonald's just 4 doors away from Bill's. first time visiting this place with my family, once we entered place was empty . I should of known it was for a reason! We ordered a burger and chicken cutlet sandwich. The food was horrible the sandwich was just thrown on the plate in pieces bread was hard and stale and the chicken cutlet looked like a piece of filet of fish it was hugee wasnt even sized for the bread they could of ay least cut it to fit tje bread! my husbands burger was full of blood it wasnt even cooked and full of grease it was terrible never coming back to this place again! food preparation awfull read more

I've been eating here for years. The grilled chicken caesar salad, spinach pie and chicken parm dinner are a few of my favorites. If you can catch the lentil soup when its made I highly recommend it. They have different soups everyday which I love. Keep up the good work Uncle Bill. read more

The Spanish guy that picks up the phone is rude and he will charge you extra for no reason so BECAREFUL!!!! MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR THE RECEIPT AND ASK HOW MUCH IT IS!!!! Uncle bills diner in Whitestone is my favorite diner. The food, the service, the employees are all excellent. Many times that I have eaten here I am extremely satisfied. I work for the Department of Education and when my colleagues want to eat dinner we all come back to Uncle Bills. Alexandra who is the owner is one of the nicest ladies that I have gotten to know. Whenever you are in Whitestone come to Uncle Bills. You will be completely satisfied and it happens to one of the few diners that is open 24/7. read more

Its a hit or miss here. It depends on what server you have and the time you come. The breakfast portions are amazingly filling but the lunch and dinners are skimpy. There is one guy we used to get for our server in the morning who was AMAZING!!! but the last time we went we had someone who was not very good. Google, has it all wrong, saying its permanently closed. As of today, Wednesday, 10/14/15, they have reopened with a full state of the art kitchen upgrade. Felt like I walked into Cheers, where everybody knows your name. Beef and Barley soup was just what I needed to take the Fall chill away. This place has the CHEAPEST breakfast specials in NYC its ridiculous! It's family owned and operated they have a new Manager there now. I think its Manny or Mike I'm not sure but he's hilarious.
