Ate here today for lunch by myself on a not too hot Sunday afternoon. I had ordered and got the casino clam as an my appetizer, crab cake egg benedict for my entree and tartufo for dessert that it was absolutely delicious. The service there was also attentive and quite fast. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

I met up with my girlfriend in the afternoon to grab a bite to eat, we both grew up going to Buccaneer's but hadn't been there in years, let me just say before continuing, their food is still excellent, delicious and served expeditiously. Our server was Vasili and he was very attentive and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We will definitely be going back because there are some food items that I need to be reacquainted with again. Can't go wrong with the Mini Tacos or Loaded Nachos as an appetizer, we ordered both, and were not disappointed at all..

I stopped in here today for a quick breakfast, this place definitely has old school Greek diner vibes very original. Service was great quick and efficient. The breakfast was made to perfection they followed all of my requests and the home fries came out 10 out of 10. I will definitely be back when I am in the area.

A Gem as well as Monument in the decreasing of diners. Very unique and awesome theme They do very well with it. The inside is nothing short. The service was Unbelievably fast. Drinks came out then appetizers. Food came out soon after. Was shocked and amazed. Everything was delicious- no complaints. My friend enjoyed his meal as well. 5/5 A+++ , new favorite diner. Conveniently open 24/7 Superrrrrrrrrrrrr

First of all let me say the servers and other staff -even the busboys are all SO warm and welcoming! My daughter and I were visiting for a few days from out of town and wanted a late night meal so we went into Buccaneer Diner on a late Saturday. Glad we did because the food was just as good as the customer service The restaurant is very clean and we loved the 50's diner vibe. We had a club sandwich, sweet potato fries, pasta and carrot cake. I highly recommend this restaurant and will visit again. Thank you for the warm experience.

Classic breakfast is great. The parking for me, not so. Regulars are offered first even though I came earlier than them.

Service is great for the food. Not the parking. Priority for regulars even though they came later than me.

Chicken Tenders

UPDATE: they were super accommodating and gave me a free slice of cheesecake which was pretty cool of them. Not going to lie, pretty disappointed. The chicken tenders were far from tender. They looked delicious at first glance from the outside but as soon as I picked it up, grease oozed out of the breading. It was rubbery tasting almost like microwaved dinosaur nuggets and the breading was lifted from them being refried or just poor quality. Not to mention I paid $25 dollars for chicken fingers and fries with a soda and they gave me 4 tenders and an insane amount of fries like an entire tray. With 4 greasy, rubbery, icky pieces of chicken. Also the chicken has a grayish undertone. Get the burger guys.

Went here during one of my past lives, it's not within the normal radius now. I also miss diners more broadly, haven"t had many occasions for spontaneous late-night BLTs. Insomniac-friendly hours and jukeboxes might be enough, and most newcomers would likely opt for breakfast over seafood combos. But based on my visit I'd definitely check out the specials. The chicken with rosemary had a powerfully juicy interior and a delightfully herby skin. The potatoes were great and even the celery was impressive. There was a soup-or-salad choice; I liked the avgolemono. The dish earned a notable compliment: a guy walked in, asked what I had and decided he'd get the same thing.

Since 1976 Nothing beats hot diner coffee and a slice of pie. Close to LGA with its own (big) parking lot! Everyone is always friendly and the lemon meringue pie is delish! They have an extensive menu and lots of seating, with on table CD 'juke boxes' gotta love that!!

A perfect patty melt expertly made! Delicious!

The lack of attention was infuriating, especially when they were known for great food and great service. That was in 2025... In 2026, let's see what's changed. Decided to invite my mom and sister out for lunch as I was craving a burger. Let's get this out of the way. The food was really good and tasty...pun intended. The waiter started off with taking our order and I thought to myself; oh wow they've actually stepped up their customer service. Much like my San Francisco Giants....that glimmer of hope in the beginning is always met with disappointment 10 minutes later. The waiter decided to pull a Houdini and disappear. He never approached us to ask if we were ok or needed more coffee or anything. The other waiters didn't seem too attentive to the other tables either. It wasn't overly crowded but I decided to give the guy a break. 30 mins later....nothing...no one was around. My mom said she saw the later walk out and then he came back in a few mins later and not once approached us. Finally after losing my patience I ask out loud where is the waiter??? Another waiter comes scrambling and asks what's wrong and I stated we were left alone for almost 40 mins. I needed the check and expressed my disgust; that this was the second time my family and me were treated like this. The manager had the nerve to come and say he didn't charge us for two cups of coffee. I wasn't expecting anything comped but if you're going to make that gesture then do something better. He apologized and honestly, I wasn't having it. The old Tasty's was amazing. Their old staff was perfect and it's sad to see this former Astoria staple has fallen. Prices skyrocketed and service plummeted. Won't ever comeback.

My sister has wheels so I hit her up and we hit the road. We ended up grabbing lunch but I want to return for brunch. I loved the old school aesthetic from the outside and all the details on the inside. THE BETTY BOOPSSSSS are the absolute best! I could not get enough. Didn't take too long for a table, maybe 15 minutes. It's popular for those who know. We got seated in the back. Out waiter was nice but new so there was a couple miscommunications but it was all good. He was in training. Judging by the people around us, they knew what they wanted. They came over and gave us pickles for the table. My sister was not a fan, so I did not partake. The father/son duo next to us got entrees but shared pancakes and the son got a milkshake. I think next time, I need to take their lead. I got a fish filet sandwich and my sister for a tuna salad sandwich with fries. I had potato salad but her fries were better. My sandwich was yummy on a brioche role and avocado slices. I loved it. I really can't wait to return. I told everyone I know about this place! May it last for many more decades ahead! Until next time!

Then I had my boyfriend call back, he talked to him nicely as well " my girlfriend called etc" the guy responded back with "give us the $16 dollars and this is going to be the last time you order food" Charging me the whole price of what they buy for a loaf of sliced white bread.
