I realize at 3am on a Thursday they aren't quite ready for a rush, but my job has been doing a lot of training out here and there was one waiter for the entire place. Needless to say, it took forever to get our orders than our food. My coworkers grabbed chicken finger platters and I got hash and eggs. The platters looked quite underwhelming. A few pieces of chicken and a handful of fries, for $10. My plate was much better. 2 eggs, hash, potatoes and toast. It was standard, good, but nothing special. The place looked clean and all, but it wasn't really a spot I'd go back to. The food was mediocre and the prices were high. The wait time was too long, and they are sorely understaffed for having an MTA depot and the NYPD academy across the street, along with all of the construction. read more

I've ordered some simple stuff from here before and it's always been pretty good. I usually get the food to go but for the first time I actually sat down and ate at the diner. Very friendly staff and very accommodating! For my sit down- I just browsed the menu and the Philly cheese steak wrap sounded good so I ordered it. Definitely not a disappointment! Was very good! Sometimes it's a hit or miss with these. You can get one that is really greasy or leaky- but this was right on the money. It came with fries too which I added cheese to- also very delicious! The diner is very clean as well. Prices are reasonable. I also like that they are open 24 hours. If you're in the area check it out! It's your typical small-sized family-friendly diner with good service and decent breakfast. Clean and shiny and serves its purpose. They pre-butter your toast for you, so let them know in advance if you don't want them to. I love bacon when I don't have to cook it myself. i got the "Big Breakfast" and it was definitely a bit too big for me to handle. But I don't go to diners often, and it's good to know they know how to make their bacon and eggs. read more

I would give five stars except for the occasional bad experience with the irritable owner. Otherwise, the pancakes are TO DIE FOR! The pancakes are the only reason for coming to this place. The sausages are nice any meaty unlike those jimmy dean sausages you get at other diners. read more

I normally don't have good things to say about diners in Queens, and this place is no exception. The staff is nice enough... but I violated my own code of diner-eating (which is to only order off the breakfast menu because its one of the hardest things to mess up) and ordered the pizza burger. I didn't notice right away since the patty was covered in a flavorless red sauce, but the patty was well burnt. I would have asked for a re-do but was short on time. Uncle Bill's Diner is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable as compared to their competition. There is a vaast selection like most diners and although we mostly go there for dinner, the breakfast is very good! Generous portions at Uncle Bill's and they don't skimp out on you. There is several booths and ample seating along with a plasma television. It's open 24/7 and when most other establishments are closed, you can bet that this place is open for business. I come here all the time and I'm glad it exists because there's nowhere else to go around here after midnight. The menu items range from super bargains to ridiculously high priced. I'm sure they have their reasons. A couple of the waiters here are pretty cool and they know what I like to order. My usuals are chili pasta, spaghetti with meatballs or chefs salad. They also make the best damn lemon orzo soup and I wish they made that every night. I kinda wish they heated the pies when they serve them (I have to always request it). I love this place. Been here twice, thinking I would give them a second chance... Everyone deserves that right? Ehh... I should have saved my money. The staff is slow and borderline rude. If you order from their dinner menu, for the full dinner, they do not give you everything it comes with - soup, salad, bread and dessert. You have to ask them or else they just play dumb... One of my biggest pet peeves. When you do ask for what you have paid for, they give you the "really?" look. Uncle Bill's is an old school diner. Its not trying to be a fine dining *restaurant* just a regular neighborhood diner. The prices are pretty low for NYC. The staff are friendly and the food is good. They are big not just adding fries (and a higher price) to sandwiches, etc so if you want fries be sure to ask for them. They make great tuna, great omelets and great grilled chicken - aka diner fare. The cole slaw served with salads comes in a real ceramic bowl, not a paper cup and is fresh and tasty, pickles have crunch to them. My personal favorite is the chicken souvlaki, over pita, which comes with a Greek salad (fries only if you get deluxe). The tzatziki is good and the portion of the meal is generous, yet its affordable. The parking lot is large so there is always a spot, although the paving isn't great, nor is the lighting. But the location - right off the highway, near the movie theater, DMV, Sparkles oil change/car wash, and shopping, plus the local apartments makes this a great location. read more

Many places were closed by 9PM on Christmas Eve & I really wanted a burger. My boyfriend drove by Five Guys, McDonalds, and Wendy's ... All were closed. After driving around for a good 30mins, he stumbles upon this place. He ordered takeout for me so this review is not based on the service (because I wasn't phsycially there), but the food. The burger was HUGE, almost the size of my head... The fries were good, even after an hour... it was still crunchy. The cheeseburger with bacon I ordered wasn't bad, just a bit dry. There food wasn't all that , the fries tasted super plain like no flavor, they don't server beer or any type of alcohol, they didn't give us napkins only the ones that the fork and knife were with. I had to ask for napkins 3 times and all they did was give me one napkin after the third time asking. My food didn't taste as well as I excepted and I got a burger. Do not order hot water!! They will charge you $1.25 for it and mark it on the receipt as "tea." Food is generally overpriced and quality is mediocre. Go to Pop's Diner on Kissena Boulevard instead. You get better food for a much cheaper price. read more

The waffles with ice cream, sugared walnuts, whip cream, and fruits were sweet, nutty, soft and most of all delicious. The big breakfast with 2 pancakes, the beacon, the sausage, the buttered toast and the home fries were a perfect combination of sweet and salty deliciousness. If you sit by the booth you will be served by grandpa himself. He is friendly, quick and he always refills your hot chocolate and coffee instantly for free. Just tried for the first time and the food is absolutely amazing. Their grilled chicken is bomb it's not dry nor undercooked. I went in there this morning. Had about 10-15 people in the place. I sat at the middle of the bar. Sitting down for 10 minutes. That's right, 10 minutes and nobody even looked at me. No coffee. No I'll be right with you. No place setting. NOTHING. Than someone comes in, sits at the other end of the bar. 2 minutes goes by and he's given a nice setting with coffee while I'm still unacknowledged. I get up and walk out. I will never go back there. This is my first time here and I'm coming back soon. This is so far the best dinner food I've ever had. Before this honestly I don't like dinners. I have been to a few dinners coz my husband likes them. Such as the what-hops all the time. Or some famous dinners around bayside. They r fine too but the problem is there is no food attracted me to go back. I can forgive the services or the atmosphere but I need to eat something that I feel like to eat again! Here the home style potatoes is one attract. The onion in it gives enough flavor as well as itself is properly cooked. Not soft till it soggy neither hard like it's uncooked. The eggs are tasty the reason I say it because when it is just an egg it is harder to cook it just right. My scrabbled eggs came soft with moist but definitely well done and not juicy. To my satisfaction! We are at the bar and service is really welcoming and professional. We appreciate that. We will definitely go back again soon. read more
