Ordered the BBQ Chicken Mac n Cheese Boat--filling and satisfying. The sweet BBQ sauce paired well with the savory mac and cheese, and the portion had a generous amount of protein. Friendly service, though there was only one worker, so it could be a bit slow at times. The interior has nice decor, and there's outdoor seating available in the plaza.

The BBQ is good, but the service is A+, truly very friendly, thoughtful people working here. I don't think I've ever been to a disc golf / BBQ joint before, so points for that novelty. The disc golf component was actually the selling point for my partner - he was looking for a new driver and the shop had a great variety to choose from. An employee who I think was Uncle D (his 'stache matched their branding) was really knowledgeable in helping my partner choose a new disc. As for the food, the pulled pork sandwich (more like a sub, it was a big boy) and the two sides of mac n cheese and kale were tasty and a great value. My meal weighed like 2 lbs, I was so full afterwards. They also have a great selection of beers and ciders that are very reasonably priced. I wanted something not too sweet and Hawaiian, and was steered towards a very refreshing lilikoi cider. This was a random hidden gem that I'm happy we stumbled upon while driving through Lihue, check them out!

Easy pick up BBQ with excellent flavor and large portions! We ate at the tables in the shopping center. They had a huge variety of beers and other non-alcoholic drinks. My husband and I got the pulled pork Mac n cheese boat (spicy). Lots of meat and delicious! Mac n cheese wasn't the best but complimented the meat well. My daughter got the pulled chicken buffalo chicken sandwich. She said it was really good!

Really good KC style bbq here on Kauai. I had a pulled pork sandwich spicy, with a kale salad and Mac and cheese. Loved it. The pulled pork was just as good without the bun as with! That is the test of great pulled pork. The kale salad and Mac and cheese were both great sides. I had slaw on my sandwich wich was a great addition. My wife had the Philly- she loved it too. I didn't try. She said the beans were top notch. Great place by the Marriott/Royal Sonesta on Kalapaki Beach!

This BBQ was amazing! They offer a bunch of beers, Ayres and there as well so I was able to pick up a drink on getting. Everyone there was very nice and the portions are generous.

We were in a pinch trying to get to the airport and were in the mood for Hawaiian BBQ and stumbled across this store - which is a compilation of a restaurant, liquor store and surf shop. It was good, but there are no modifications that were permitted to the meals. It is very basic as it is a one-man shop. I prefer access to condiments, etc when I eat and would have loved options. The food also takes a while to get as again, one person is working there. It is great if you have time and are not a picky eater.

First timer here, and goodness gracious, how bomb is this place? We were helped by Uncle D himself!! He was so personable and even handsome . They're moving in to a new location, but the merchandise was nicely organized and displayed. I chose the Day Drinking Society shirt which is super cute! I ordered the medium heat brisket Mac n cheese boat with a side of the kale salad. Soooo dang good! Thanks, Uncle D!!

Food was incredible. Was lucky enough to be there Saturday for the Brisket. Very delicious!! Wife got the Philly Cheesesteak which was extremely delicious as well. Great job and the service was perfect. Definitely hitting this place each week. read more

As soon as we landed, looked for a good local eatery. Uncle D's hit the spot! Got the half pulled pork and half spicy brisket bowl on a bed of Mac 'n cheese. Wife did the mild pulled pork on bed of half Mac 'n cheese and half rice. Just what the island ordered. Aaaah! read more

Low key shop tucked in the back corner of the Harbor Mall. We were looking for a quick bite and came across the BBQ joint. Enough food for two unless you are super hungry. Ordered mild Mac 'n cheese boat with smoked pulled pork - yummy, just enough spice without the burn. This spot is simply delicious. Our first visit we got the pulled pork in both sandwich form and on top of Mac&Cheese. The quality of the meat was top and the sauce was everything you expect from a bbq sauce. It was so good, we came back two days later on Friday to try the brisket. No photo because it was devoured quickly, and oh so wonderful. If that wasn't enough, Uncle D's is a solid hub for craft beer also. Was impressed some of my hometown breweries made it over (Belching Beaver and Modern Times), and delighted to see Some other favorites (North Coast and Boulevard). There's more! The disc golf section was cool to explore, and a sport we are now more eager to try out! We can't wait to come back and visit Uncle D's again! read more

We stopped in before heading to do a rum tasting and as soon as you step foot inside, the smell of BBQ was mouth watering. We got a spicy pulled pork sandwich and a brisket Philly cheesesteak and loved every bite. Definitely worth the stop! read more

This place is EPIC!!! Dustin if FYE . The food was amazingly ONOLICIOUS. Very good portion. Tried everything on the menu and it was SPOT ON. Can't believe I ordered extra KALE SALAD coz it was so yummy-liscious. Don't get discouraged with the small store, because there's plenty of table & seats in the plaza court. Food was mouthwatering. The meat (brisket and pulled pork) was packed with flavor. We got it with the medium bbq sauce and it was delicious. Service was excellent and Uncle D himself was very passionate about the food, drinks and disc golf. Very friendly ambiance. We grabbed our food and with a short walk to the beach you get that wonderful ocean view with the waves crashing. read more

A friend and I stopped here for lunch after some cocktails at Dukes. We shared the Mac n Cheese bowl and got it with half Buffalo Chicken and half BBQ pork. This was so tasty. My mouth is watering as I type this. They have a great selection of beer beverages. Had I not already had a few cocktails I would have grabbed a beer. Ah Brudha, I would have taken a photo but ate the sandwich too quickly. Midwest BBQ on the Island!! Solid food, great conversation. Good season and taste. BarBQue! Oh my real Southwest style- Brisket over Mac and Cheese. Never would have thought it but....pretty tasty. Choice of heat on the sauce. We chose the medium and it was just right. Took our food to the beach and ate 1/2 and saved the rest for dinner....so yes ample portions. Would go back. I believe the Brisket is only cooked and served on Thursdays and Fridays. In the back at Harbor Mall. Stop in you will enjoy your meal! read more

We got the brisket BBQ (only available certain days) and the pulled pork BBQ over mac and cheese. Both were really good. Serving sizes were great, especially for the price! Going to take some of the sauce back home. This BBQ spot is so good, I'd be a regular if I lived here. read more

Mac n cheese with BBQ! Perfect combination, great taste, fair value. Plus pick up a beverage soft or hard, it's all there. Learn something about Disk golf too. An overall excellent experience. Food is really excellent, and compared to others around this Lihue area, is a bargain. I had Mac with spicy beef brisket. A+. A break from a slim Jim, Doritos, and a Snickers followed by a Mountain Dew. read more

Probably the only place you can buy a disc and get great bbq. The food is delicious, the shop is fun, and the owner contributes to the community and keeping disc golf parks utilizable and fun for everyone. read more

Rating solely for their beer selection and have to give them real. We will be sharing with fellow beer nerds and make sure they don't miss stopping in. Next time we are grabbing food when we are not in a rush. Nearby parking and a nice center of shops and food stops. read more

We were recommended here after our Wailua kayak adventure. Really small place in the back of the mall. If you think you're lost, just keep going. Super friendly staff. Great selection of beers and ciders. We got the Mac and cheese boat with spicy BBQ chicken & a spicy BBQ chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese and hummus. Portions were generous, food was hot and delicious. So glad we stopped for lunch. Definitely recommend! read more

A great addition to Nawiliwili. I live by there and this one is a keeper. Located at the very back of Harbor Mall. Lunch is served Weds-Friday. Ribs special on Weds, brisket on Friday's. The sauce and flavors are amazing! read more

Wish we found this place sooner on our trip. Brisket, pork and chicken on Mac and cheese was just amazing. Wife had combo pork and chicken I had just brisket. Food was amazing. Chatted with (I think owner) and great selection of craft beers and some liqueurs. Great conversation on both adult beverages and food. Will go again often if we can. read more

Definitely the most unique shop we visited in our time on Kaua'i, and well worth the visit! We both got a Mac-n-Cheese boat. The mac was mild, a nice compliment to the rich flavors of the pork. Excellent pre-hike fuel that kept us energized for hours. There's no seating in-store but plenty around the shopping center. A lucky find! read more

The best BBQ on the island of Kauai...by far! My go-to is the brisket sandwich but switched it up today and got the pulled pork. Legendary! The kale salad is a sleeper side for sure. Grab a bottle of Pele's Wraith BBQ sauce and you won't be disappointed! read more

I just finished the 1/2 and 1/2 pulled pork and brisket over Mac and cheese. I have been in Kauai for 7 days. Eaten all over the island. Everything. This is hands down the best food I've had to date. I asked for extra spicy with the Carolina Reapers. I eat spicy food with no issue. Heat and flavor are what I crave. First time ever that I've gotten both. If you can't handle heat, don't get extra spicy. I can't wait to go back tomorrow and try the Philly Cheesesteak. The service was awesome. Super nice guy who made us feel very welcome. Don't let the ambiance of golf frisbees and craft beer throw you off. This is the spot. read more

Absolutely outstanding !!!! This place is no joke. We had the pulled pork/Mac & cheese and the pulled pork sandwich. Very hearty servings. Everything tasted great. There was nothing but great food. We had the mild sauce on the sandwich, and medium with the pork atop the Mac & cheese. Both were excellent and it was just the right amount, not overly drenched. And then there's Uncle D himself. An incredibly pleasant guy, and very helpful. Be sure to eat here, and be sure to bring your appetite. read more

My wife and I came to visit Uncle D's on our honeymoon and we cannot say enough good things. The shop wasn't open the day we came and Dustin was so kind to let us in, buy some discs, and sample the BBQ sauce. The disc selection was amazing and the BBQ was equally amazing! We will be sure to stop by every time we visit! read more

Several years ago we would buy HuliHuli chicken from a man who had built a large grill on the side of the road. It was really good, and we were disappointed when he retired. We heard about Richie, but the last two years could not find him. This year, success! Our first visit to the truck we got 2 Hull Huli chicken halves, so we could have it 2 nights, with leftovers for lunch. At first bite we almost lost our minds! Smoky, tasty, juicy chicken, even the breast was fabulous! Then we came up with a plan - to buy another 1/2 and freeze it and take it home so we have a good dinner the first night. It's ready to go! Just get to Kapaa and get this chicken - it will blow your mind!

Once again, every dish was a hit. The proteins were flavorful and filling, and the mac salad deserves its own shoutout. It may be my favorite mac salad on the island. This is absolutely the kind of place we'll return to on our next visit. It's also conveniently located near the airport, making it a great first stop when you arrive or a last meal before heading home. A couple things to know before you go: parking was easy when we visited, but there isn't any seating. This is very much a pick-up-and-go spot. I'd recommend calling ahead and placing your order so you're not waiting around. Great food, generous portions, and the kind of local spot you hope to find when traveling. We'll definitely be back.

The char siu fried rice had good flavor, although it was a little on the oily side for our taste. The Mongolian beef tasted really good, but there were definitely more onions and bell peppers than actual beef. Despite that, the flavors were still solid and satisfying. Overall, a good local takeout spot that we'd still recommend if you're in the area and craving BBQ or Chinese food.

The ordering is done like your typical poke place, you tell the service worker what you would like and there's a small toppings bar at the end before the cashier. There was a small line when we went, and even with the line, it still only took about 5-10 minutes to get our food. There isn't interior seating in the restaurant though, you will have to get your food take out, or just eat in the parking lot. I got the 3 scoops of poke option for $15.25, and I think that this is a pretty solid deal for the variety of fish that you can try out! I think based on my personal experience on Kaua'i, it will be difficult to get food, especially poke at a reasonable price. But for this price, it's probably the best place on the island to get poke without paying $20+ for the same variety. The fish tasted fresh, and I am a fan of the selection of toppings they had. If you are in the Lihue area and looking to try some poke at a reasonable price, I would recommend The Fish Express! There seems to be a decent amount of other interesting looking options on the menu, and if I'm ever in the area again, I would totally give them a try!

Amazing food!! Mac n' Cheese boats were so good!! Got the mild sauce on our meat and it was exactly that, mild! Almost a hint of a kick, but not spicy! Wish we could pack the BBQ sauce into our luggage. Genuine customer service, a very kind owner who is happy to talk and explain the food, and such a nice guy. Also it is a disc golf shop, he has a great selection of discs, and is happy to give a tour of what he has im stock. Such a great guy in the community. read more
