I had my first visit to DT's yesterday. I went for the bluegrass music jam and performance, and to try their food. In all my reviews, I automatically add one star for places that feature live music. The staff is friendly and energetic. The setting is rustic and comfortable. DT is the pitmaster and also a guitar master. I appreciate that a smokehouse has a tofu option, which I tried and really enjoyed. Prices are excellent. All in all: a fantastic Sunday afternoon. Great food, great music in a relaxed setting. The music jam session was fun, and the performance that followed was top notch bluegrass.

They serve proper brisket, trimmed well and smoked for 13 hours. The owner, David Thom, was mentored by legendary Texas BBQ pit master from Black's BBQ in Lockhart, TX. As a native Texan, I try brisket everywhere I go. This joint does not disappoint.

I respect and support small businesses. The barbecue is top notch. Barbecue sauce was tasty but would have liked a second choice of sauce. The slaw is not the standard but liked the change. The owner does it all! Service is a little slow but we were not in any hurry.

Pretty good BBQ at a reasonable price. I tried the Brisket Sandwich and Potato Salad which both were tasty. Nice little dinning area open to the outside, friendly staff and food comes out fast. I like Steely Dan was being played while I dined in. Will return to try mac n cheese, ribs and brisket.

My cousin and I LOVED this place. Unassuming outside that's really cozy once you come in. And we got to meet Uncle DT himself who was super nice and check in on us but let us enjoy our food (good balance of friendliness haha)! I would definitely get the sandwich again; the meat melted into the soft bread perfectly to create an amazing, rich bite. The other dish was my cousin's who also greatly enjoyed herself here. We also got the cornbread with hatch chilis and ice cream on top which was INCREDIBLE! Wanna come back next time I'm visiting Santa Fe!! Also SO CLOSE to Meow Wolf if you're visiting

We had just left Meow Wolf and were headed back home, when we passed this BBQ joint at 8pm on the dot. It smelled so good as we drove by that we turned around to go back! They were just closing, but were nice enough and willing to fix us 4 bbq brisket sandwiches, coleslaw, and potato chips to take with us as takeout. The brisket was tender, juicy and smoky - perfect. The coleslaw has cumin in it, I believe, which had a different flavor profile than this Dallasite is used to, but it was good. The cornbread was thick and a little crumbly with lots of whole kernel corn and green chiles, and was probably better hot out of the oven, but still had a nice flavor. The brisket was the real star of this meal. Only seating for about 8-10 folks and that includes the 4 bar stools outside against railing. It's basically just a small counter space with a table or two and a piano. It's in an old industrial area, and looks like it might have previously been an automotive shop as it has a roll down garage door.

Small laid back joint with character.

We were traveling from Chicago home of some really good barbecue, and this could compete! I loved the ambiance, lots of character, especially the frontman/server! Of course, loved the brisket and tips, but honorable mention to the delicious potato salad and Mac n cheese! Very flavorful. I would definitely recommend to anyone near Santa Fe. I also enjoyed the bluegrass music playing and I see that they have live music sometimes. Super cute place and 5 year old approved.

All the food was very good reminded me of Texas Bbq. I would recommend trying Uncle DTs.

What a delightful lunch spot that has an amazing menu and super friendly service…read more For some reason seeing the name I thought it was gonna be a Fish and Chips kinda place LOL, but is more like a cafe with amazing coffees, salads, bowls, etc. The food here was so healthy, fresh, and yummy. My iced latte was also divine. They had some really good looking desserts too but I didn't leave room for those. This was definitely one of my favorite lunch places in Santa Fe. Sooo good!!

This is a great place to stop for lunch, a snack, or an iced coffee or matcha latte on a hot day…read more It was also recommended to us by a local working at another shop in town. There is plenty of seating in the room next door, and it appears they may be expanding that room. In the main room, you walk up to the counter and order, then your food is brought out to you. We got sandwiches and bowls and the food was great. Fresh and healthy. I also got some kind of maple cream cold brew; I did have to ask for more maple flavor because I wanted my drink a bit sweeter, and the barista graciously added it without charging extra. They seemed to have interesting pastries and bagels, and the shop is also a market with fancy snacks and other provisions. I was tempted to take home a unique chocolate bar or jam, or something savory like a wacky bag of popcorn, but we were maxed out on snacks at our Airbnb, so I refrained. They had a wide selection of this kind of stuff. All in all, it was the perfect spot to grab lunch in the late afternoon while cruising around the Plaza on a hot day. The service was friendly, and so were the other customers!

If you're in Santa Fe and not ordering the tamale plate at Tres Colores, you're doing it wrong…read more This dish is the definition of New Mexico done right--two perfectly steamed tamales, one smothered in rich red chile and the other in savory green chile. The red has that deep, earthy flavor with just the right kick, while the green brings a brighter, roasted heat that balances everything out. Together? That classic "Christmas style" combo that hits on every level. The masa was soft and flavorful (not dry like you get at some places), and the filling was generous and well-seasoned. The sides sealed the deal--fluffy Spanish rice, hearty beans, and a fresh, crisp salad that cut through the richness perfectly. Portion size was solid, presentation was clean, and everything tasted like it was made with care--not rushed, not watered down for tourists. Service was quick, friendly, and exactly what you want when you're trying to keep a night moving. Authentic, satisfying, and exactly what you hope for when you come to Santa Fe. And the stuffed phyllo with a side of fufu. Which was delicious. The fufu I mean. I shaped chunks of it like a spoon and used it to scoop up the stews. Not a novel idea, by the way. For a drink I had the fresh tamarind which was lightly sweetened and refreshing. The lamb was mild and benefited from a touch of salt, according to my companion. The beberé was sweetened by the sweet potato and probably my favorite of the three. The phyllo was exceptionally good! The table hot sauce has a chili and vinegar kick but is not particularly spicy. Service was great as well.

Hmmm...food was not as impressive as the first time. This…read morewas our second time at Sazon--my partner brought me here for a surprise birthday dinner. The atmosphere is upscale and beautiful--love the decor and artwork. The service was on point; our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food this time was just ok, except for the Sopa de Amor: Chef Olea's signature soup--that was heaven in our mouths. The steak (Popocatepetl: spicy black pepper crusted aged angus beef tenderloin / red cabbage and snow peas in cilantro vinaigrette / jasmine rice) we shared looked nothing like the description. Either our server was clueless regarding gluten-free, because this wasn't up to our standards for a high-end restaurant--the flavor wasn't the same as we remembered from several years ago, and the steak (medium rare) inside was colder--not room temperature, so I ended up not eating all of mine. Plus we had to ask for rice--which should have come with our meal since there isn't flour or any ingredients that would have made this harmful to me. Also, the side of asparagus it came with wasn't bright green and crispy--it was yellowish and flimsy-looking and tasting. For the price, this should have been more on point than what it was. We had split a steak, shared a soup, had a bottle of wine, two glasses of champagne, and a dessert--oh, and a $12 split change (something they suggested--even though my partner and I were fine eating from the same plate)...the bill was almost $400 with tax & tip. The dessert however, was presented beautifully with mixed berries and a liquor which was then lit on fire--a festive dessert option since I have a gluten allergy. There are so many wonderful restaurants. Unfortunately, the food did not leave us craving to come back for more. If the service and decor wasn't so impressive, Sazon would have received one stars.
