Went here because they had gluten free options on the menu for my daughter. When we ordered we were told basically everything she wanted wasn't really gluten free. Cross contamination from the fryer! They did have gluten free buns for her chicken sandwich, but she wanted the seafood nachos. The chips were fried in the same fryer as gluten foods. Very disappointing. read more

Best Intentions on a night out with friends for a birthday dinner did NOT go as planned!! Off-season and Covid-19 have nothing to do with salty business practices that feature hidden upcharges and inflated, hidden cost suggestions!! Eight of us dined, three of us could not stomach the food and two of us could not stomach the hidden costs! Waiter and staff were friendly and attentive, but when you say the Fish Tacos can be Yellowfin or Mahi Mahi... maybe you should say the Yellowfin is an upcharge?? When two of us ordered Yellowfin mid-rare it shouldn't be ice cold in the center. Obviously frozen and not rested, but hey who's a critic? It was bastardized in two inch squares and left a cold lump on your pallet. But hey, we were out to enjoy the evening, so we dealt with it! When you order a shot of whiskey, by suggestion of the bartender, you might want to know it's a $30 shot before it arrives on your bill? Since the upcharge for tuna and the over-the-top shot cost were a surprise on the bill... this must be a regular business practice! We were going to stay for the LIVE music in the packed bar area and drop some more cash on top of the $83 fish taco meal, but with all the surprises and shock and awe, our entire group went on home and partied like rockstars on vittles and beverages from Food Lion! Very disappointed by the lack of face masks worn by employees. Not a single customer in the entire room wore a mask at any time, lots of loud voices. Note: one server wore a mask 70% of the time, no one else. Food is good if you don't mind the lack of care for customer safety. If you are in the outer banks you have probably seen the uncle Ike's advertisement plane fly over the beach. I was on the beach with a few buddies and we said we would try it out and so we did just that. We loved the atmosphere as well as the service. The staff was very friendly and made the experience great. The food came out out reasonably quick after we had put our orders in. I had the shrimp basket, which was really good. Everyone else at the table loved their food and we were sent home happy. I would 100% eat here again. They have a very extensive menu with many options that all seem to be good. read more

You would think this restaurant had fresh seafood because of the name and because it is in the outer banks but it did not. The menu was disappointing and the atmosphere was odd. I thought we were arriving early at 545 pm on a Thursday but the expected wait was already 1.5 hour. Fortunately we did wait and our dinners were worth sticking it out. Ike's has a casual, noisy pub environment but still okay for family with kids. We enjoyed our orders of Crabby Wings (tasty but crab chunks not overly generous), house salad (fresh), crab cake sandwich (plenty of fries), fish tacos, fish and chips (lightly breaded as we like), and crab cakes (tasty but not real large). We especially liked the remoulade sauce. Service was very good even with a busy full house. Given its beach locale and vacationer clientele, prices are on the high side but all things considered, not unreasonable. If I could pick zero I could. Took my family to dinner at Uncle Ike's, was so excited to try when I walked in the lady asked how many, and I told her. She then asked me if all of my party was "thick." I was absolutely astonished and heart broken. Here are the highlights: Seafood Nachos - spectacular, loads of cheesy flavor thanks to Old bay Smokehouse Burger - Wow! Way better than I expected. We ate here on our last night (Friday evening) in OBX. We called ahead trying to make reservations, and they only take reservations for a party of 8 or larger. The night we went there was a party of 26 coming in at 530, and when I called (and was actually able to get someone on the phone) we were told the earlier we could come in for dinner, the better. So, we got there at 430 to do drinks and apps before ordering food, and we got the last 5 top table in the place. It was packed!! Recommend going early, or making reservations if you have a large enough party. Here are a few of my family's thoughts on the food: *The Pina Colada is delicious - really creamy! *Seafood platter insights - shrimp and mahi were cooked perfectly and delicious. The crabcake was pretty much just crab dip that had been fried, so not the best we've had. (Caveat: being from MD we have extra high standards for crab cakes, so take this with a grain of salt) *Fish and chips - our fish was slightly overcooked :( *Kids chicken tenders - we ordered for our 1YO daughter, and she doesn't eat much. She ate what she wanted, and these tenders were so good that they were eaten by the rest of the table! Definitely recommend this place to folks! read more

Went to Corolla for a day trip and this was one of the few places that were open for lunch, which can be challenging during the off season. Sat at the bar and got to watch my NY baseball teams. Grabbed a local beer and crab cake sandwich, which was very, very good and one of the reasons I gave this place 4 stars. Bartender was really nice and the people that came in afterwards were friendly too. This was a relaxing break from the sightseeing, especially since I had just come back from a long overseas assignment. read more

I went with some friends and we were lucky and got there before all the tables filled up. I got the mozzarella sticks and the chicken tenders with fries and honey mustard. It was pretty darn good. I snacked on my boyfriends mac n cheese (needed a lil bit of salt) and the mash potatoes and that was also pretty darn good. I definitely see myself going back the next time I am up here is Corolla. read more

I have never been treated so rude from a restaurant and a manager of a restaurant in my life. I had a big group order and wanted to be respectful and place the order ahead of time. After calling twice over three hours I was told to call back an hour before I wanted to pick up the order. I was then told they were not taking any orders as their kitchen was overwhelmed. I explained how I was not allowed to place my order two hours ago and now I was not allowed to place it after I was told to call back at a specific time. I was treated so rudely on the phone and dismissed that I could not stomach to even try this restaurant again. So rude, unprofessional and poorly run. As a restaurant during the on season they need to learn how to manage their restaurant AND be respectful to their paying customers. So disgusting and disappointed in this place and hope no one ruins a night of their vacation giving this restaurant service. read more

Currently on vacation with 16 other people, we decided to come here on our last night in Corolla and it was the best choice ever. They were super accommodating to our big party, and our waitress, Sarah, was amazing. She was constantly checking in on our big party and she was just so personable and lovely. Everyone's food was delicious, the fish and chips were fresh, the fried pickles were awesome, and my garlic parm chicken wings were super good! Place was decent just avoid the big stocky employee at all costs. He rushed our order over the phone and told us to hurry up because he was busy, tired to charge a 20% Togo charge without telling us and it says nothing about that type of charge on the menu or online. We would have obviously left some kind of gratuity but because of that type of slick behavior and our experience in person, we did not. When we picked up the food and then checked it to make sure everything was there he told us " there is a table outside you can do that at, if you really think everything isn't in there." The other female employee inside the restaurant was very uncomfortable at the way the big stocky guy was talking to us. We felt like a giant inconvenience and were only guilty of giving them business. That guy either needed a hug or to get out of the customer service industry. Terrible experience. read more
