Delicious dinner! We went for dinner based on the reviews on here, and it did not disappoint! Fish n chips was great! Hubby got the chicken and waffles and ate the ENTIRE THING. (He never eats the entire meal at restaurants) Daughters split the adult chicken tenders and they were nice big chunks of chicken. More chicken then breading! Son got child's hot dog, which he said tasted like a sausage. (Lesson taught about getting a boring hotdog at such a fun restaurant!) Walked in with just me, my family are small people, nor are we big. The lady was trying to find us a table, looked out the door to my family (because you are only allowed one person check in) and asked are you all fat girls.... I am on vacation and do not want to be judged for the size of my body. I was genuinely excited to eat here but we will not support this place what so ever. We drove from Duck to Corolla Light to give this place a try based on Yelp reviews and man, am I glad we did! Our visit was on a Wednesday, the week before Memorial Day weekend. The restaurant was fairly busy, but we were able to get a table immediately. Our server and bartender, Scott, took our drink orders and gave us menus within a few minutes. My wife ordered an Orange Crush ($8) that she claims is the best she's ever had. I tried a sip of her drink and I have to admit, it was pretty damn good. For lunch I had the fish and chips. Lightly breaded haddock, fried to perfection, accompanied by crispy hand cut fries. The price was a little steep ($16), but the portion and taste made it worth it. My wife had the chicken fried chicken. A breaded and fried chicken breast, served over mashed potatoes with green beans. She raved about her meal and said she wanted to come back the next day for lunch again, just to get the chicken fried chicken. Admittedly, I tried her chicken and thought it was awesome - tender, juicy and unbelievable taste! I believe they have a few locations, but we'll definitely travel to the Austin Street restaurant so my wife can get Scott's famous Orange Crush! We went and had dinner here and the service was not the greatest. Our server was working his butt off but yet there was just to much work for one person to do. Finally, someone else came over and ask if everything was ok and we had been waiting for a long time with no drinks and they had delivered us the wrong soup 30 minutes earlier. So basically they ran out of our soup then substituted a different soup without telling anyone. My husband and I stopped in and got a table inside right away. The bartender was our server. He was friendly but not very attentive. He was busy making drinks but ours sat empty for awhile and he didn't check back on us after we got our food. Someone else noticed and checked on us though. I had an issue with the crab in the crab dip. It had a very off smell and tasted fishy. My husband isn't as sensitive and didn't seem to notice. I didn't say anything, assuming maybe it was me, but had ordered a crab cake sandwich before tasting the dip. When it came it had the same off smell, but worse. I mentioned it to the employee who checked on us and he went to the manager and he came right away. He asked what else I'd like to order or offered to remake it. I was hesitant but went with the remake. When it came out it definitely did not have the smell and was very tasty!! He checked on us right after to make sure all was well. This place is set up well for large groups of people. Our group of 9 had no problem being seated for dinner. Most of the over-sized tables had benches to accommodate many people comfortably. This is also a good place for people who like seafood and for those who don't. My children and I enjoyed chicken fingers and chicken and waffles while the rest of the family enjoyed their shrimp and grits, salmon, scallops, crab cakes, and tuna. Swing and a miss. We were starving when we made it to Corolla and decided to grab a late lunch before check in. We got grilled fish tacos, 2 regular burgers and a kids cheeseburger. Fish in tacos was over cooked and had some mayo based sauce that was overly drippy ($18). It had a crispy outer shell (fried shell you get with a taco salad) with soft inner tortilla. My 6 year old loved the crispy shell that my 15 year old (he ordered the tacos) didn't like at all. My 13 year old said the burger tasted sandy. She ate maybe a 1/3 of it. Mine was better but just kinda blah. They don't have a regular burger on the menu just one that comes blackened with cheese, bacon and BBQ ($15). I probably should have ordered that. The plain burger was $13 and not very good. The cheese on the kid burger ($8) was white which threw my daughter off, but I think it was okay. One of our best meals while in Corolla! The fish and chips was excellent, steamed shrimp and fries delicious, and hush puppies were fried perfectly. The food was excellent, the service was good. Some of our party felt that they paid more than the quantity of food that they received. For example, two of our party both ordered the seared scallops. They were served 5 scallops and two sides for $25. My husband and I were satisfied with our order. We had the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer for $12, I had the Shrimp & Grits and my husband had the Fish and Chips, both of which are listed as signature dishes for $17-18. There were 6 large shrimps on my dish. I prefer my recipe for shrimp and grits but this was good - it included bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, and cheese. Conclusions: if you stick with the "Signature Dishes" this is a good place to eat. Other entrees may be overpriced. Also, look carefully at your bill because our server pre-added a 20% tip. read more

With limited restaurant options on a Sunday evening in Corolla, I came across Uncle Ike's on yelp and ordered carry-out for my family. I know restaurants are struggling, especially in a vacation/tourist town, but this is no more than 1.5 stars at best. Two stars is generous. The food was horrible. French fries were stale, they tasted like they had been reheated a few times. I should've known better than to order a crab cake sandwich, Baltimore does it best. The sandwich lacked crab meat and didn't include remoulade sauce. Fish tacos were overcooked, perhaps the amount of sauce was to mask the dryness or blandness of the fish. Chicken wings were almost unbearably salty. They should also advise phone orders there's a carry-out fee added to the bill. I caught it as I signed the check. Totally understand the need to do that during COVID times, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps the food would taste better after several drinks and dining-in. read more

This place is great! Came here for a quick dinner. Service was very fast, and the stall were very friendly. We got the wings as an appetizer, and they were delicious. I got the chicken fried chicken, and it was delicious. My brother got some seafood sampler, it was a lot of food (the crab cake was extremely delicious), and then others got the fish sandwich I believe. We finished with the salted caramel cheesecake.
