I'm not sure what all the hype is about. I went once and don't care to go back. It's just over priced ice cream. Nothing special or wonderful about it, really. The inside was clean and the girls working were nice but it's just a small spot inside a strip mall. I can think of a handful of other places that are far better in taste and flavors as well as ambiance. If you live close by and just want to run in to satisfy an ice cream craving I don't think you'll be too disappointed but Market Basket is right there, you could save yourself some money and head to the freezer section over there. read more

Creative and creamy offerings including Peach, Maple Walnut, and omg Caramel Praline Pecan. Ice cream was very high quality and delicious. Best I've had in a while. Located in the Wilmington plaza. The owner John was very personable and kind. Great energy all around. 10/10 recommend. Only suggestion is adding OPEN to the foldable signage outside. When driving by because of tinted windows and sun cancelling out the illuminated sign. It looks closed but inside is bright and very clean. I offer this suggestion so others know they can come in and have such enjoyable experience like we did. read more

Filling a much needed void in the town of Wilmington... Uncle John's is hands-down one of the best local ice cream spots around. The ice cream itself is creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor, and with a rotating selection of creative flavors, there's always something new and exciting to try. It's not just the dairy options that shine- their dairy-free offerings are seriously impressive and far more plentiful (and delicious) than what you'll find at places like Richardson's. The shop has a bright, clean, and welcoming atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to visit. The service is consistently fantastic, and the owner is a genuinely personable guy who clearly takes pride in the recipe he's created. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality. A great new addition in the New England Ice Cream tradition. We live a short walk away from another locally owned shop in Reading but had to make the drive to try Uncle John's. An interesting menu with something for the traditional, kids and flavor seekers. I had to try a traditional flavor (chocolate) a nice Ghirardelli flavor. Smooth, very creamy and GREAT. We also had a Tiramisu, which was thoroughly enjoyed. Friendly, family owned Definitely worth a treat. read more

I have gone numerous times to have their coffee oreo and black raspberry and its far more tastier and creamy than other places in surrounding towns. My wife also gets Peanut Butter ice cream and said it tasted like real peanut butter vs. Artificial flavor. We found out from the owner John that all their ice cream is homemade and made from scratch and they do switch up favors to try and appeal to new customers vs. Just vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. My father-in-law tried the coconut ice cream once and said it was the best he's ever had and highly recccomend it. Service is great as well. I reccomend coming here and would absolutely reccomend the flavors I posted above. read more

Hidden gem in Wilmington! The ice cream is small batch using the highest quality ingredients. So far I have had both the cookie butter and fire pit s'mores flavors which are fabulous! Tried Uncle John's for the first time tonight and we enjoyed it! I am a big coffee oreo fan so I gave that one a try and was definitely impressed. The chocolate oreo cone is also a must try! Best icecream place around! Not only are the flavors fun and tasty but there toppings are fantastic too! They have a "flight" of 4 kiddie sized icecream flavors of your choice! Which i think is a great option for first timers like myself, today! And at a decent price of $10! Service was extremely friendly and efficient! I grew up in Wilmington and we'd go to Friendly's at the plaza for ice cream. Today, in the Wilmington Plaza there is an old fashion ice cream shop. A place where you can take the family out for an ice cream and not break the bank. The sundaes for $7.25 (one size) are piled high with scoops of homemade ice cream made fresh, topped with many choices of toppings. I could only eat half of it! Another popular ice cream shop in Burlington charges double for less a serving. The owner stood outside on the sidewalk, greeting every customer and thanking them for their business, with a sincere "please come again". Come on folks, let's give this family run business as much love as we did for our beloved Friendly's. You won't be disappointed! read more

Came in for the first time during the chilly Memorial Day weekend and we were definitely not the only ones there! The ice cream was delicious and super creamy - you can tell that they use quality ingredients. We tried the peanut butter cup and the black raspberry. The peanut butter cup was filled with pb cups and had a great peanut butter flavor. The raspberry was light but had the perfect amount of raspberry flavor. The owner was there and was very friendly, stopping to ask us how it was and chatting for a few minutes. The only thing we wished we had done differently was get the flight so we could try more flavors because everything we had was so good! We even stopped to grab a pint on our way out so we could take some home. We are so excited to have this yummy new ice cream shop so close by and will definitely be back! read more
