I had high expectations for this place with all the hype about the opening. My coworkers made reservations for a business lunch. I ordered the lunch menu "chicken fajita quesadillas" which basically was two small tortillas with chicken, cheese a glob of sour cream and guacamole on the side... I could've made better myself as it was hardly filled. A diet soda and that quesadilla was quite expensive- $18 before tip and I was still hungry upon leaving. The service leaves a lot to be desired. They have a lot of staff members but nothing is organized and no one seems to know their role. We asked for separate checks and there was about 8 of us. At the end of the meal we waited about 15-20 minutes for everyone to get their checks and then about another 20 minutes before flagging down the manager (who also appeared to not know what to do other than make circles). Her response was pretty dismissive and instead of going to help her team and see what the delay was, she basically told us we had lot of checks and didnt really care that we had to get back to our office. Conclusion: must miss! Nothing special at all. i really really wanted to like Uncle Julio's. Unfortunately, our experience was awful. Our waiter had tunnel vision and kept ignoring our table. It took 40 minutes just to get drinks. The food is way overpriced and not great. Don't get the table side Guacamole. The girl who made it had to most dour look on her face while she hurriedly threw things together, minus the seasoning and minus chips. You kind of need chips to eat Guacamole. Every time I order take out, they forget something. I specifically requested the rice and beans for a carnitas meal for two (because now instead of just including it like they used to, you have to check off that you actually want it). The staff was very nice and the ambiance was definitely 10/10, however, the food was completely lacking. I ordered a mojito which tasted like there was no alcohol and was overly sweet. Ok so this is the second time I've been here. First time I figured maybe they had an off day. My first visit I had chicken quesadillas when I received my order it was just chicken and a sprinkling of cheese, no onions no peppers. I got invited here by a family member since I am not from Bridgewater. She made reservations for us on a Friday. It wasn't too crowded. The chips and salsa were delicious. This place is disappointing because the food and drinks I've had here were good but the awful service really ruins the whole experience. Appetizers without plates and utensils, 35 minute drink waits, flagging down servers that aren't mine to ask for things. It makes it not worth even coming here. Edited to add that it's been 5 days since I wrote this review and my friend became sick the day after our visit here and is still sick today. We were looking for outdoor dining at the mall and nothing else had an open patio so we gave this a try. I'm glad we did! The service was outstanding. Our waiter was incredibly nice and helpful. This was my third time dining at the restaurant and we decided to dine there to celebrate my birthday. The experience turned out to very disappointing. The food and service quality has deteriorated sadly. Portion size was so less that it seemed they were running out of food. Presentation was so poor that it seemed food was simply dumped on the plates. The sauce given with customary nachos was horrible. The only saving grace for our evening was the margaritas which were amazing. Servicing staff was avoiding my raised hand and I actually had to get up once to request for extra napkins. The two tacos were swimming in grease, I understand it's ground beef but this was disgusting. The soft taco shell was soaked and fell apart immediately. I felt nauseous pretty quickly into the meal. Visited here at the beginning of the week with some family. Been told by many people that the food is really good here and it also looks very upscale for just classic Mexican food. I got the grilled fish tacos which weren't so bad, I didn't like the fishy taste in the tilapia so I wouldn't serve that in my opinion. I didn't like how when I added a lot of lime to my tacos for the extra tangy taste that I love in tacos that my tortilla fell apart. I think doubling up on them would give it extra support. I also didn't like how whatever sauce it had was at the bottom of the tacos on the fish and not served on top as well huge loss of points for me. My nephew and sister got the steak fajita bowl and seems to like that but the presentation looked so weak. My other sister had got the classic taco salad and said she paid too much money for all lettuce and not a whole lot of anything else. That's very disappointing to be honest. I also wanna point out that the passion fruit lemonade drink is too sour it's a strong powder lemon taste and the slightest and not present passion fruit taste so that sound be fixed. On May 18, 2024 I met a friend for lunch at Uncle Julio's in the Bridgewater Commons mall. I sat at the bar to wait for my friend, and had one seltzer with lemon. While sitting there I noted that the bar needed to be cleaned. I paid $4.00 plus tip for a single glass of seltzer with a slice of lemon - an outrageous price! Although I could buy a whole lemon and two large bottles of seltzer for that price, I paid it without complaining and still left a tip. My friend arrived, and we ordered lunch. The interior was nice enough, but where we were seated was dark. The employees were very nice, and the manager was attentive. My friend ordered an enchilada dish with three very large enchiladas with sides. She thought it was OK. A lot of food, but not great in flavor. I ordered the fish taco dish which was served with and a couple of small sides of rice and beans. I believe I paid $19.00 for the lunch, and also had a standard margarita. The food was just OK. I was disappointed that the fish was coated and deep-fried. I ended up paying $41 with tax and tip for lunch, and an additional $5 with tax and tip for the glass of seltzer. My friend paid more for the enchilada dish, and had a drink herself, but as we had separate checks I don't know what her final bill was. We both felt that the food wasn't particularly tasty, in fact it was only average in flavor, I didn't feel it was good enough to justify the prices. Based on exorbitant pricing and mediocre flavor I won't be going back there, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. My friend said she wouldn't be likely to go there again, either. I am cognizant of the still inflated costs of nearly everything these days, but I believe restaurants today are taking advantage of the inflated environment by overcharging customers - price-gouging. They can make more money at our expense. There are other excellent Spanish and other types of restaurants in the area that offer much better food for more reasonable prices, and I will go there instead. read more

Great spot! I finally made my way to uncle julios and I'm glad I did. The food is so fresh and flavorful. I'm a big fan of fajitas, I decided to order the skirt steak fajitas and they were just amazing. The flavors and great and the food is fresh. My fajitas came out sizzling and oh so juicy! The wisk dip was bomb the chips were fresh and crisp. I had a margarita, it wasn't very strong but you can taste the fresh lime no sour mix taste. The only reason I didn't leave 5 stars is because our waiter was slacking a little. He forgot to bring my sour cream and we asked for more chips which he mentioned he forgot but then never brought back out. Overall great experience and would highly recommend and go back! read more

The waitress suggested the pineapple margarita so I decided to order one, my mom got the strawberry margarita. Honestly the drinks were not good, she claimed everything was fresh but it was not. The pineapple margarita was more like a cocktail salad it had no flavor or pineapple and all there was chunks of pineapple and jalapeños. It was so tart and salty. Sorry not for me. The waitress was kind enough to ask but I won't return it, I just left it alone. To start we order a guacamole which was not bad for the table. Then for the main I ordered the pulled chicken quesadilla, it was so big. I had one bite and left the rest. My mom ordered the steak fajita that came with rice and beans. She said it was so so, the rice and beans had no flavor. My dad order the grilled chicken that also came with rice and beans. Honestly the food here is not for me. A friend recommended visiting the restaurant as it is very similar to Jose Tejas (one of my favorite Mexican restaurants). I enjoyed the outdoor dining and Bridgewater Commons is beautiful. The biggest downfall at this restaurant is the limited menu for vegetarians. There was only one thing that I can order, which was the veggie quesadillas. If you're a vegetarian, be careful when ordering because the rice is prepared using chicken stock, and the beans have meat. But the portion size of veggie quesadillas was enormous, and I could not finish it. The dish came with sauteed peppers, onions, and Monterey Jack on flour tortillas with sour cream and fresh guacamole. The tortilla had a perfect crunch and filled with cheesy goodness. The chips and salsa are specially made in house. The salsa was excellent! I would visit this restaurant every day for the salsa if I can. It has a tangy, spicy, sour, and sweet flavor in one bite, which was phenomenal. In my opinion, Jose Tejas still steals the show for better taste and quality of the items. Uncle Julio's is more expensive than other Mexican restaurants that have a more massive menu. read more
