If you come here, YOU MUST get the chocolate piñata!! :) I came here with my cousin for Saturday brunch. It was pretty empty when we came. This restaurant is very cute! There's plenty of space, tables, and different rooms. Our waiter was so kind and patient as we took a while to decide what we wanted to eat. The chips and salsa are very delicious and fresh. For my meal, I had the Chilaquiles. It was good, my favorite part was the chicken and the cheese. My meal also came with a side of fruits and cream, which was fresh and sweet. The chocolate piñata is $25, but if you want empanadas, it's $30. There's chocolate, caramel, pineapples, blackberries, strawberries, churros, whipped cream with cinnamon...it's amazing. Came here on a Sunday afternoon at around 3 p.m. with family and friends...a party of 8 with 4 young kids. The restaurant was almost empty at that time and we were seated quickly by a friendly hostess. The tables, chairs, and restaurant in general was clean. Our waiter was great and helped us with high chairs for the kids, water, and guided us through the menu. So you know, this restaurant is a chain with 6 Texas locations but it feels like a local joint with authentic Mexican food flavors. For Drinks: Try the Shaken Margaritas to order where you pick a tequila, add Grand Marnier, Cointreau or Patrón Citrónge and they will shake it for you! The Añejo Tequilas are the smoothest, and try the $10.99 Patrón Añejo and it will make you happy, just make sure you have a designated driver! For Appetizers: If you are a fan of Guacamole, try the $5.79 small in-house Guacamole that is made with onions, cilantro and tomatoes. This goes well with the complementary fresh chips and salsa that is provided by the restaurant. For the Entree: Try the $13.99 Chicken and Beef Mesquite Grilled Fajitas. Ordered an order to go for 10 people, the fajita pack. Order was due to be picked up at 4:45pm on Sunday 2/2, the day of the Super Bowl. Showed up at 4:30pm to notify of ready to pick up. Hostess told me it would be longer than 4:45pm, and that she could notify the manager, but the order would be delayed. To be fair, this was Super Bowl day and it was busy. But I ordered the order on Friday online, two days before the Super Bowl, giving them what I felt was fair notice. Four groups of people picking up food that looked similar in size to my order came in and left after picking up their orders. Several smaller orders came and left with their to go orders. Turns out, the hostess did not notify the manager, and I ended up waiting over an hour before I could get my order. Extremely poor customer service all the way around, especially the hostess in the front. If you would like to wait an hour for them to serve you, go to this restaurant. read more

I have been craving Uncle Julios beef fajitas. So we came here on a Sunday at 6:30. Seemed a buzz but looked like a few empty tables. We were told a 15 minute wait. We chose the open bar area. We seated ourselves at one open table of many that needed to be wiped down. No one acknowledged us. We went to the actual bar. Again the bar needed to be wiped down. We were finally provided a menu. Fast forward after alot of waiting, we got our appetizers and even more waiting, our fajitas. I will say our food was great! The service spoiled the experience. We had to ask for spoons, more salsa, more chips and Tortillas. We had to ask for Tortillas for our fajitas. Corn and/or flour - they didn't even ask. I even had to ask for another glass of wine. The restroom was relatively clean. I picked up trash off of the floor. I was satisfied with the food. But since my craving for the fajitas been addressed, we won't be back. read more

Fun spot! Obviously it's all about the chocolate pinata, which was as fun and cool as it looks and sounds. I had some enchilidas, two with cheese, one with ground beef. The cheese was mostly hard by the time it came out, not ooey gooey like I wanted. The ground beef was tasty. We had lots of chips, salsa, tableside guac, and queso. The queso was amazing. The guac was great. The salsa was super good too. I could just make a meal out of this. The rice and beans were good, but I wished I had gotten refried beans instead as they looked amazing. Everyone else's meals looked good and no one left plates empty. The dessert was super great, super fun, and something I wish we had where I lived. RAW CHICKEN - MARCO IS TRYING TO KILL YOU. We frequent this restaurant and usually enjoy the food. Service is alright but today was a story for the ages. We sat at the bar and ordered chicken fajitas. We did not realize that they serve the special chicken which is pink when cooked. Yes, we were served RAW CHICKEN. It gets better. We ask the bartender to please have it remade since it was clearly raw and the manager comes out. The manager, Marco, has a very interesting explanation. We, the customers, are wrong. We clearly don't know how meat should be cooked. The chicken will look pink when cooked for some bizarre reason. Marco Polo over here had the meal remade, charged us for the raw chicken, and was on his way to sail the seven seas. I can assure you, we will not be returning unless forced to go there. Also, the waiter had his mask on his neck and was bending down to talk to us while inches from our faces. I mean, he almost kissed me we were so close. Whew! We just left right then and there without eating, while he was LITERALLY in our faces trying to explain something about the cooks being new, blah blah, etc. I couldn't take the lack of attention to detail with our orders and lack of personal space. OMG couldn't wait for my next visit to my FAVORITE place, but when I got there I was disappointed. They removed the agave cheese from the enchiladas and replaced those awesome rancharro beans. My mother and I can in on Sunday 8/18/2024 we ordered fajitas. They were under cooked, the fajitas were not sizzling like the other experiences I have had with uncle Julio's. Our server brought management over, we spoke to her asked her multiple times to take the food back and we wanted a fresh order. She not only did not take the food back like we asked, she brought over a side order of fajitas and she charged me for it. Would not recommend anyone come here almost $100 spent for 2 plates of under cooked fajitas, the second plate of fajitas she brought were again undercooked not sizzling either. We brought up the quality of the chicken fajitas, which was mostly skin and under cooked, borderline pink and sh deflected to the point to where I didn't feel comfortable eating anything there. Went to Uncle Julio's for the first and last time for dinner. We got a cool reception from the hostess when we asked to sit on the terrace - apparently they wanted to stick us somewhere indoors. The waiter was friendly and efficient enough. My primary issue is the food. The salsa is incredibly watered down. I asked for more salsa with less liquid and it was better. We asked for fresh chips after receiving the first basket and they tasted marginally better. I had the chicken and beef enchiladas, along with a beef taco. The chicken and the beef were flavorless - same can be said about the cheese and hatch chili sauces on the enchiladas. Think of this place as Olive Garden does Tex-Mex. read more

Although I love the atmosphere here, the menu is lacking basic tex mex options and they have not added back options post-covid. For example, they do not have burritos, and despite having beans and tortillas, refuse to make you one on request. They also do not have tostadas. During covid, they did away with shrimp tacos, which were really good. The plain soft taco meal was so flavorless it was like made at home with no seasoning. The beans that come out by default are watery and like dog food in broth. I want to like this place but am consistently underwhelmed. read more

Our service was great, the food was good, but the experience was lacking. I've come here for the excellent fajitas for years, always been my favorite and a memorable experience. Our last visit was forgettable. Usually when they bring the fajitas out it's on the hot plate, and you can hear them before you see them. Apparently this has stopped, and maybe I'm suffering from nostalgia here, but it needs to come back. It's part of the experience you expect when you go to this restaurant. Also, they have removed pico from the fajita setup, why? You're paying more and getting less which makes no sense to me. Please bring back the sizzling entry for the fajitas, and the pico! read more

Strike 2 and 3. Cinco De Mayo and it was busy but our server (who has apparently been there 3 years) was so overwhelmed. Three other tables who came in after were served before us by other waitstaff. Kept getting told water refills and chips that just never seemed to come and yet the other tables never had problems. At the end, the waiter told us some bs about putting his 25% discount on for us and our bill was dropped it from $111.00 to 74.00 due to the date yet we never ordered food/drink that would have totaled that much. Showed up with 4 kids, no one else in the waiting area and was quoted 45 minutes to an hour, this is at 2pm. As we walk out and load the kids in the car to leave, a party of 10 walk out. It wasn't just the hostess up front... the manager stood there as well. I'll take my business elsewhere. Sad because we were looking forward to trying their food. Uncle Julio, like Elvis, has left the building. One of the worst restaurant experiences I can remember. Two of us (of six) had dinner plates that were dreadful. My chicken fajita soft tacos were as dry as the sand In Saudi Arabia. The service was so bad that my son in law and I had to go to the bar to obtain more beer as our waitress was nowhere to be found for long periods of time. My wife had to ask three times over thirty minutes for a glass of ice. When informing the manager that we were ignored, she informed me that we were not ignored! Others in our party liked the fajitas, thus earning a one star rating. No option for no stars on Yelp. This place... ohh this place... It's a good reason to workout even harder than you typically do. I came here off of a recommendation with my lovely girlfriend, who just moved here. Thank god. The staff and seating was a breeze. Table or booth, it works out great. The chips are ok, but the salsa and/or queso is even better with them. The queso does not harden after 10 minutes, it just stays nice and silky, which is a huge plus when you are debating ethics with a special someone :) The happy hour margaritas are pretty good, but I recommend skipping over them. Instead, order the el jeffe or the tris amigos margarita. The el jeffe has a perfect amount of jalapeno flavor, and not alot of spice. My canadian tongue thanks you. :) Food - the carne assada was fantastic, a great medium rare flavor. The spanish rice is ok, but the charo beans are amazing. I mean amazing. Ohh have I mentioned the uber soft flour tortillas with the meal? Those fluffy clouds are awesome, which reminds me of naan. Madison - well she had the enchilladas, the chicken and beef. Both had awesome flavored sauces, one is a green one with a hint of spice (to me, not her), and the orange one had a bold flavor with spice (to me, not her). I think most things are spicy, even pepper. :) Anyway, in consulation, I did have the camarones - the six jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon and jalepenos. Holy crap, they are delicious and not too spicy. This dish has all three meats, some veggies that I did ... not.. eat... sorry doc., and those fluffy tortillas. :) In conclusion, it's a great place to go. My colleagues and I had lunch here recently. It was quite crowded but the staff was able to fit in our group of 6 pretty quickly. The staff was very attentive except for some drink refills. We had plenty of chips and salsa. The chips come out hot which is a nice touch. Not sure if they actually make the chips there or just fry them up. They do make fresh tortillas though. The guy was standing at the machine making them the whole time we were there. I had the chicken fajitas. The chicken had a good flavor. Lots of sautéed onions and peppers. And the typical toppings - cheese, salsa, sour cream. It also came with beans and rice which I did not eat. I did have one bite of beans and they were tasty. The rest of the group had a variety of lunch specials - quesadillas, tacos, etc. The food came fast, chips were refilled, drinks not so much but overall a nice tasty lunch. We ate here today for lunch. There were 3 of us in our party and we came here around 1230pm. We did not have to wait and were seated right away. We had chips & salsa, which were pretty delicious. The chips were thin and the salsa was warm. Good flavor and heat on the salsa. I had the 2 item lunch combo, with the pork tamale and added the chile relleno for an added charge. Let me tell you it was worth it. The chile was huge and had lots of cheese on the inside. The pork tamale was kinda small, but I did not deduct from the stars, because it was delicious. The rice & beans that came with the dish was so flavorful and delicious. The service was excellent and our server was pretty spot on. Very friendly and welcoming, was on top of our drinks. We did not have any dessert, but the next table had a chocolate pinata for their dessert and I took a picture. We will definitely have it next time we visit. read more

Very good food here. Even on a busy night, our server was helpful and super nice! I tipped well but the prices were a little expensive for my taste. Great food and atmosphere, but I think they could knock a dollar off every drink and menu item. Just my opinion. We ordered a lot for the table to share and it was A LOT of food. I love that the restaurant manager stopped by our table and made sure our food was to our satisfaction and even went out of her way to ask if we lived in the area and if we enjoyed our first visit here... We went there for Father's Day, and it was great! Service was solid, but the food was incredible. I had quesadillas, and they were great - just enough cheese and not too much. I added black beans and they got it right. The desert was the best part! Literally - the best desert I've had in my life. The chocolate pinata was fun to break, and it dropped onto a big tray with raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce, and I think butterscotch sauce.
