Uncle Lees never disappoints! Sizzling Rice soup is a specialty of the house and it really sizzles! The salt and pepper fried tofu was crunchy with a creamy delicious center and even my non tofu loving guest liked it. "Ok" sums it up. The decor is dated with vinyl booths for miles. The service is friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are expensive and not a good value. The dishes are heavy-laden with sauce, often very salty, and the portions can be meager. However, some of the dishes can be good and I've yet to become ill after eating here. Just tried this place. The service was super friendly and helpful and the place has been recently refurbished so has very nice decor. Was pretty empty for a Saturday night. The food is very flavorful and fairly salty. The hot and sour soup was notably spicy and sour. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just perfectly if you don't like your vegetables to be mushy--some might think undercooked so if you do like your vegetables more cooked I'd tell the server. The cook recommended the Hunan scallops which were indeed delicious. read more

Delicious, went in for lunch today and tried the cashew chicken and pad thai lunch special, it was amazing! So fresh and flavorful with just the right balance of spiciness and sweetness, the pai thai is PERFECT, it is on the drier side which I LOVE and not overly sweet. As always the owners are amazing, Amy is such a sweet, genuine person, who always remembers my co-worker and I and comes and sits down and catches up with us when time allows. Best Chinese food, best service, great ambiance, and great wine selection combined with fabulous hosts.

First of all I want to say that we are originally from NYC where we have some pretty great Chinese food. We moved to Seattle about two years ago and really couldn't find any good Chinese food. I'm happy to say that our search is over. Uncle Lee's delivered on everything we had been longing for and then some. The food was fresh and very tasty and the service was really nice. They treated us like family and that really resonated. We had the general tso's chicken which was crispy and IMO perfect, as well as the chicken fried rice and lo mein which we're both excellent as well. Very middle of the road in quality, very high in price. Wanton Soup was horrible, basically just dishwater and thick wanton wrappers. I imagine that the wantons started in a giant frozen bag. The Beef with Broccoli was pretty good. Also we tried the Sesame Chicken because everyone was raving about it...and it was okay... but not really worth raving about. I tried a Uncle Lees for the first time tonight. I snuck in at the last half hour to grab some takeout. I ordered the cashew chicken with two stars and some steamed rice. While I waited for my dinner order I look around at the nice clean and modernly appointed dining room. The staff was courteous and the service was extremely fast. Generous portion was absolutely delicious and the prices were quite reasonable. I will definitely come back and enjoy a meal in house next time! read more

Very good Chinese food is with us at Uncle Lee's. Party of six ordered five diverse Chinese dishes and loved it all. The service was so friendly and genuine. This the second time back since the remodel and I would say that everything food wise (selection and quality) that we loved about China Village is intact. The owners are the main reason we like to eat here - they always recognize us, even if it's been months since we were in. It's like having comfort food with your family. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star rating is that they charge for each fountain drink they serve - no free refills. These are *little* glasses with lots of ice and they charge about $2.50 for each one. Having forgotten this policy (it had been a while since we were in) we were horrified to find we'd been charged almost $20 for about 32 oz. of cola. We'll still go back...but we'll stick to water and tea instead. read more

I've been to this restaurant once and will not be going back. I wanted to like this place because it's just down the street from my apartment, the service was great, and the ambience was nice, but the food was just not good. It appears that this place has a lot of regulars, esp. families. The staff seemed to know some of them and they were prompt in bringing our food and checked on us the right number of times. The place is well-kept and has touches of Chineese decor mixed with an American restaurant, making it farely pleasant. We ordered a noodle dish, sweet and sour pork, and general tsao's chicken, as these are our favorite Chineese dishes. I've had sweet and sour pork in MANY places and this ranked as some of the worst: the pork was cut in huge pieces that were hard to fit in my mouth and the coating on the pork was incredibly dry and crunchy so that it was hard and unappetizing to chew. The general tsao's chicken tasted nothing like general tsao's, just slightly sweet chicken with no other taste. The noodle dish might have been good if we hadn't ordered the "crunchy option" our waiter recommended. I wish he had specified that some people don't care for it that way. They did supply a lot water and tea refills though, two full pots, which was appreciated and kept me from being too unhappy about the rest of our meal. read more

I don't know why this restaurant is getting so little love on YELP and the reviews included are of the precious establishment.. My wife and I had a lovely dinner of eggplant as well as the yellow curry chicken tonight and found wonderful staff, nice atmosphere and accessible parking. We also brought home seafood soup to our boy who found it very good and packed with squid. The menu was mostly Chinese but was varied without too many or too few options. Been here about 7 or 8 times in the past year. Adorable and courteous owners who are great servers. Love having our free, fresh pot of tea and waters always refilled. Always quiet and calm here with soothing music. I come with my boyfriend to escape the loud, busy restaurants. I come here twice a month. This place has some of the best lo mein I have ever had. Heavy on the oil, but I kinda like that. It even beats the China Town restaurants (though thats not too hard to do). The servers are congenial, and the owner remembers everyones names who come in. She is quite gregarious. The bar is fun for a cozy drink. Clean tables. Fried rice is also great. Too bad the other reviewers did not have the same experience I had. The salt and pepper tofu was the lone bright spot in a large meal: everything else was overcooked, underflavored, and cornstarched to high heaven. I have been coming here for 20 yrs and its still the same, good! The staff is friendly and as chinese resturants go, its not bad inside. The general tsos is great, Mongolian beef and sesame chicken are not bad either. Moo shu is good, noddles are ok not homemade. Ten ingredient lo mein and seafood chow fun are my favorites.
