Tried coming here with a girl friend of mine. Everything on the menu looked absolutely delicious. But the costumer service killed it for me. We didn't even get a chance to order food when we were kicked out due to my friend having her 4lb little puppy (who was hurt) in a totally zipped up doggy purse/bag. Yeah, I totally understand the seating in side situation and how that can be a health code thing. But when they told us (quite rudely) that he wasn't even even allowed on the patio we were dumbfounded. Seriously? You are in a tiny strip mall, there was no one else out there, and your patio is open! Not even an enclosed patio.. A totally wide open patio/sidewalk that connects to the parking lot. I wish we would've gotten a chance to try some food, reading all the great reviews and such. But I refuse to give a place with terrible service my money. read more

I went here with my family a couple of times. The first time we ate there, the omelettes were pretty good, however my mom and my sister wanted a side of muffins, they gave us bagels instead. The customer service was pretty good. I felt that there is too much cheese on the omelettes and everything was too much all at once, especially with the avocados and the sour cream. read more

I love this restaurant. I've been going since I was 18 (28 now) and the food has always been the same. Delicious and affordable. As a Greek, it's hard to find yummy yet authentic Greek dishes. Now open!!! Food was good but not mindblowing, and it took a while to get our food. Good thing there was no wait on a Sunday even though the place was packed. I liked how the owner visited each table to ask how everything was. I felt like this was a decent breakfast/brunch place but I'm not sure if I could highlight anything we ate. Based on Yelp reviews a group of us went to UPC this morning. They had a Vet's Day special ( 50% off) which we didn't know about, and there were two Viet Nam vets in our group which was a bonus. The owner came over to our table, probably because we were first-timers and welcomed us, chatted for a while. He's a pleasant guy. UPC has a large menu, basic American fare, featuring classic diner food, My wife and I split a Spinach and Feta Omelet, which was huge, country potatoes and toast. The toast was properly toasted. The potatoes had just enough crunch on the outside. Very tasty. The omelet was NOT overcooked. I hate it when omelets have brown spots where they have been on the grill for too long. A decent amount of feta, too. Anybody who claims that the service is indifferent here is lying. Lying. Don't believe their review. Our server was attentive, friendly without being intrusive and efficient. The food came promptly. The restaurant wasn't packed but it was busy. We sat at a table in back. They play classic rock music which was neither too loud where you have to yell nor too soft where you have to strain to hear what's playing. One of the guys in our party got sausage and eggs with biscuits and gravy. He left half a biscuit on his plate and I had a bite. Excellent gravy. It had a bit of sausage in it, not a lot. Uncle Pete's Cafe is all you could want in a local, mom and pop restaurant. Portions are sizable for the price. And they have tables outside if the weather is right for it. The owner says that it's quite busy on week-ends but waits are only 10 or 15 minutes normally. That's not much when you consider how good the food is. read more

YES YES YES YES! THIS PLACE IS DELICIOUS! My friend and I loooooooove going out for breakfast places like this. We wanted to try something new since we always go to the same places. I've always wanted to try this place since most of my friends eat here. It's a small place, but honestly feels like you're at home. There are a good variety of dishes on the menu. I ordered the chorizo and egg burrito and my friend ordered their breakfast burrito. The burritos were about $6 bucks and they were huge. My friend and I decided to share our burritos with each other, so we can get a taste of both. Both of the burritos were delicious! This is a good breakfast spot! Lots of options and decently priced. I love croissant breakfast sandwiches. I got the polish sausage croissant with the sausage on the side. It comes with spinach, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and cheese and you can add avocado. My only complaint is that they put a lot of mayo on it and I did not know that there would be mayo inside... It didn't say on the menu. However, it is not a big deal and I will know for next time to say no mayo. read more

I had jury duty at the West Justice Courthouse and checked Yelp for local lunch eateries. With so many great reviews I was excited to try Uncle Pete's Cafe. Thanks to another reviewer I knew to grab a menu before I sat down so it didn't take long for a waitress to come by. She was super friendly and when I told her it was my first time there she said everything was good and that they've been open for almost 25 years with the same owner and almost the same crew so they must be doing something right! Because of Diners, Drive ins and Dives I'm always searching for awesome local mom and pop places for good homemade food. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich and within less than 10 minutes it arrived. It was a good amount of food and was worth the $10 incl tax. The roast beef was perfectly cooked, sliced thin and tender. It came served on a piece of white bread covered by a heaping portion of brown gravy. The gravy was unremarkable and tasted ok but not much flavorwise. I was so disappointed to discover that along with the (canned/pre-made I'm guessing) gravy, the mashed potatoes were boxed, thin and very tasteless. And I'd hoped to get a good serving of veggies from this lunch but they were dead, limp, canned green beans. Overall I'd say this is a good standard diner with the usual diner food. Not the artisan, homemade food I was hoping for but still a good place to go. read more

This place is a place you should not pass it up if you're nearby... I can only comment on the dessert but after one visit I was hooked! This place is so fantastic and friendly that when I walked in to use the bathroom, the woman behind the counter smiled and pointed with no attitude at all! Unlike other eateries who have something shoved up there rump and live to say " for customers only." So after seeing that they had a really nice/clean bathroom, I decided to eat there! Breakfast served all day. So my party ordered breakfast for lunch. It's a good thing we had an early lunch (about 11:30 am) because the place filled up quick around 12:00 pm. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs. It came with hash browns (or home style potatoes) and biscuits and gravy (or toast). Other party members ordered waffles. One with eggs and bacon. Very generous portions. We didn't even finish all the crispy bacon and that never happens! Biscuits and gravy were good. Waffles were tasty as well. They are generous with the butter. One of the waffles was requested as "crispy" and that request was fulfilled. Ice tea was refilled like 3 times by the pleasant male server. He even offered to put my iced tea in a to-go cup (which I declined). Way to go above and beyond with customer service! This place is the atypical local cafe. Not a bad thing. After 3 or 4 Sunday breakfasts here, it's a very comfortable fit. The staff is always on their "A" game. You have a refill of your cup before you can ask for one. Service is attentive and timely. Seems like you just ordered when the food comes out to your table. My fav's for breakfast are the link sausage and eggs with Spanish rice. They poach my egg perfectly every time. The chunky salsa on the side has a little zip and the rice is great because it doesn't have a whole lot of other things in it I don't want (like vegetables and mystery stuff). My petite red headed passion flower swears by the oatmeal and my father in law swears by the scrambled eggs and sausage patties with biscuits and gravy. Maybe I'm being a little bias on my review for Uncle Pete's, but I don't give a damn. Beisdes good wholesome food, this place brings back a memory of peace utopia for me. I've been coming to this place since I was 11 or 12. Every time I come here, I'd share a sandwich plate with whoever that took me there, and an ice cream sundae ALL TO MYSELF. I loved watching the waitresses make my sundaes. The sundae was my utopia, and I loved every spoonful of it :) As always, I like mine with extra whip, extra chocolate, and extra cherries! Wife and I love this place. We always stop by when we drop the Lexus off for service. The staff are friendly and nice.

The food was just so so. Nothing to brag about. I'd say it was overpriced for what it was. The chef or whoever he was kept coming out and sitting at the bar to watch television which I thought was really weird. He was right there as we went up to pay and was in the way of the counter for us to sign the check. I feel like he should have stayed in the back or even at least moved down a little so he wasn't in the way. I won't be coming back here just cause it's over priced and not very flavorful. We only went here cause we woke up later than usual to go to our go to breakfast spot and this place was open an hour later. They also have a ton of lottery stuff around which made the atmosphere of the restaurant a little weird. They have a scratcher vending machine by the door and those longer fill in the bubble lottery tickets on the table. Just didn't feel right to me. read more

I drive by this place all the time and it's kind of hard to spot. It's in an awkward area that you wouldn't expect a diner to be, but once you walk in, it looks a lot bigger on the inside. Love this cafe! It feels like an old Americana cafe yet it's owned by an awesome friendly Greek guy. So the Greek food options are so good, I had the kabob plate tonight. I was getting lost in the flavors of the Greek salad and almost forgot about the kabob which was awesome. But it's a very big versatile menu. Greek, Mexican and good ol American cafe options. I usually get the chicken fried steak breakfast or dinner depending on my mood but it's the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. I've had many things here as well and I can't remember anything that I didn't like. Corn beef hash is good. Biscuits and gravy good. Breakfast anytime. Always friendly mom and pop staff. The owner is almost always there and he makes you feel at home. I've become a regular now and I've noticed this place has a lot of regulars. This place is perfect for people that can't cook often but love that home cooked style meal in a home style environment. All dinners come with a free dessert. Food is very affordable. Usually the bill comes out less than I would expect. Love this place right down to the old guys talking politics at the bar in a friendly sarcastic manner lol. if you like a relaxed, comfortable, warm, friendly environment with fantastic homestyle cooked food you have got to come here. the staff are so welcoming and even the other customers acknowledge your presence and greet you. the servers were well informed about the menu and gave honest input about the different selections. a pet peeve of mine is not having to ask for a water or coffee refill, and the server here was on it. the second my water or coffee was running low she noticed. the food did not take long and had that home cooked flavor. a fantastic breakfast spot. and not too pricey either. really enjoyed my experience at uncle pete's and would love to come back. we ordered the corn beef hash plate that came with hash browns, 2 scrambled eggs, and a side of biscuits and gravy. everything was relish! & even came with a slice of orange as well. my boyfriend ordered an omelet we forget which one but his came with a heavy amount of hash browns and he ordered the toast. the jelly and butter on it was great. overall we enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend if you are around the area. read more

I've been here a couple times, after a visit to the Poker Store. Finally deceided to get off my ass and write a review. This is your old-skool diner. People, largely seniors, outside in the patio area enjoying their meal and a smoke. Walk in and the main counter is high and resembles a bar. Keno on the screen. It's an offbeat vibe. Only three stars? Yah. Had the patty melt on my first visit and the pork chops and eggs on my second. Patty melt was pretty unremarkable; I'm surprised that I remembered it. Oh, wait, the first time I go to a diner, I either get a patty melt or breakfast. The 'chops and eggs were fine, but I had to eat the chops like a piece of toast because of bones. The waitress was either busy (it didn't look more than half full) or didn't notice my wavedown for another coffee...I guess they don't work that way here. Only three visits; order and coffee, brought my order, then my check and "Did you want more coffee?" as I was about to leave. Really? Pfffppphttt... (raspberry sound) I think the owner was behind the register...he was a pleasant gentleman and when I asked for a menu, he said, "Here's two..give one to a friend." Can't fault a guy for upselling and promoting his place. The menu is fairly extensive, so the only problem you'll have is what to order. Since I think this used to be a bar, they do have beer, wine and can whip up a bloody mary and one other cocktail...forgot was it was, though. This is one of those places you really want to like, but it's average. It works, but it's OK, just OK, not any better than OK.
