I never write 1 star reviews but if I could I would give a ZERO. My bf and I went today morning and he ordered 2 waffles. 1plain Belgian, 1 strawberry, eggs and bacon. It was super busy! Ordered the food at 10:50am. 11:10am rolls around, no one called his name... 11:20am, nothing... 11:30am still nothing... 2 girl employees at the front let him know his food was almost done but it was nowhere to be seen. On the counter were untouched togo boxes filled with food but we just assumed it was for someone else. Please tell me why HIS food was CHILLIN ON THE COUNTER FOR A WHOLE A$$ 20 mins and NO ONE CALLED HIS NAME???? She proceeds to tell him, "the chefs in the back didn't put a ticket on the order so they didn't know who it was for." They apologized and offered to make another order. Thanks for the apology, truly.. but respectfully who wants to wait another 15 minutes after waiting 40-50 minutes? To top the cake, we opened the box and order was WRONG.... we ordered 1 plain, and 1 strawberry. In the box there were 2 soggy waffles, 1 strawberry and 1 completely different waffle. At this point no one wanted to eat it after spending $40+ on the meal. To the manager, please evaluate your system if you don't want another disappointed customer. I know it was super busy, but there is absolutely no reason for us to wait that long for the order to be messed up. read more

I used to frequent this business a lot before, and decided to drop in recently. Unfortunately, this visit was not like before. The food was mediocre and so was the service. Steak was over cooked and the french toast tasted like cafeteria food. We were told to sit anywhere (just like before), but it took approximately ten minutes for a server to come by, give us our menus and take our drink order. Another ten minutes went by and our waitress came around to take our order. The food was ready quick, but the quality of the food was poor. No refills for coffee were provided, nor for water. It's unfortunate that a spot that used to be amazing went downhill. Customer service is poor and seems nonexistent. read more

I have been going here for years. The chef has issues. I asked for light oil on their delicious house-made hashbrowns and they came in a pool of oil on the burned side. Yikes. The waitresses are excellent. Only two handling a full house and a birthday party. They deserve raises. If Tom was still the owner, the chef would be fired for dissing the servers and customers. I see they had my updated review removed. I had come here a few times early for breakfast. It was good, very friendly service from the girls. The reason for one star, which is deserving, I went for dinner with a friend. The male waiter was exceptionally rude. Not I'm having a bad day rude, more like this is who I am, how I am, and I don't care. It astounds my why a person like this would think this behavior acceptable, would ever be hired to work dealing with the public, would even want a job in which your ability to be liked determines how much money you make. The dinner food was unimpressive. The breakfast food was good, no complaints. Almost good enough to add a star. Then I think about that server. I've seen some bad ones who were simply inattentive or untrained. This guy was more like making an effort to be rude. I really like small diners like this and seek them out. What's the purpose of the front of the building AND the menus advertising BREAKFAST LUNCH & DINNER but when I walk in here and try to order fish & chips they say they can't serve it? My sister tried to order chicken Alfredo - can't order it. Apparently they don't serve certain menu items until 4pm. Had I known that half the menu wasn't available I would've eaten somewhere else. Pathetic. Wasted my time walking in this dirty establishment. Tables are dirty & sticky at that. Save your money & eat somewhere where the menu isn't restricted. read more

My bestie was getting her eyebrows micro-bladed next door to Uncle Pete's. Since I was in the area too, we agreed to meet for lunch and in the interest of saving time we decided on Uncle Pete's, which was busy and had a pretty big variety of options in the menu. All promising signs of a safe bet. Uncle Pete's has a full breakfast menu- classic to any decent diner. For lunch and dinner they have sandwiches, salads, Mexican and traditional American dishes. My friend ordered the Ruben sandwich with fries, which she enjoyed. I had the greek salad with grilled chicken- it was absolutely delicious. So good in fact, I would go out of my way to return to this cafe just to eat this salad again. The server was very sweet and the patio was a nice shady and airy location to enjoy our mid-day lunch. Hidden gem! We ordered three different types of food. Ribeye steak plate, Chorizo & Eggs and a Mediterranean style Filet mignon plate. Delicious! Great service! I can't believe I didn't know this place was here. Most of the dinner entrees come with a delicious little piece of cake. I actually didn't think I would eat the cake but it was so unbelievably good! Food is good as usual. We get country fried chicken. Chicken is not big. It is a decent size for one person. Denver omelette is great. We also tried breakfast burrito which was HUGe! At times, we see only one server and there maybe some delay yet they are always nice and will make sure you are taken care of. read more

This place has been open forever since I was a kid in highschool. Their service and their staff has always been awesome. Going here every weekend has been my recent activity because it's very relaxing sitting in their outside dining area. Their breakfast and their service is why I come. 3.5 I would have given them a 4 but the main component of my breakfast ( Pork chops,) were overcooked. I've passed Uncle Pete's so many times, when I use to work in HB. It was finally time to give them a try with my family after a lovely appointment at the DMV ;) Walked in and was sat in a booth immediately which was awesome because it was the middle of the lunch rush. Service at first was a wee bit slow but picked up and they were nice. Their menu is big like most diners. I wanted to order everything. The struggle of a big menu. My mind constantly changes on what to pick. I settled for the pork chop breakfast which comes with pork chops of course , eggs, hashbrowns and toast. I always add cheddar to my hash and eggs, so much better and they do it right here. Sadly my chops were overcooked and that's supposed to be the star of the show. I hooked them up once I got home, also they lacked seasonings but considering the main demographic here, they don't know Lawry's LOL ;) My mom ordered the waffle breakfast with bacon and eggs served her way, we also ordered a side of sausage. Found this place on google & decided to give it a try based on the reviews before we headed back home to Vegas. We were so glad we decided on Uncle Pete's. The food was delicious. We had pancakes, French toast and Huevos rancheros. The only complaint is that the beans were completely bland, but based on the taste of all the other food I still give it 5 stars. Service was great from start to finish. We were seated pretty quickly when we arrived and opted for a table outside. Glad this is an option because it was a beautiful day to enjoy some breakfast outside. Our server was on it with the refills of fountain drinks and coffee, never had to ask. Most importantly it didn't break the bank. Food was very reasonably priced. For a a family of 4 with food and drinks our bill was less than $70.00! 10/10 give it a try. read more

The balding closing manager (male) was very rude to me when I asked if my TODDLER could use their bathroom. He shouted WE'RE CLOSED before I even set both feet inside, and when I reiterated that my two year old really needed to use the bathroom, he was still rude and dismissive as he again shouted NO, WE'RE CLOSED. Dora is an awesome attentive waitress. I was having a challenging day and she welcomed me as if it was here home. The coffee was hot and tasty and the food reminded me of a Saturday morning. Growing up as a kid, sitting on the bar stool waiting for moms to deliver those crispy edged pancakes that tasted like fresh buttermilk! Yes this is the place. I will definitely be back! Done with this place... been going here for a while the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up. From burning the omelets to having them extremely runny. The sides being completely burnt or almost raw potatoes. The final straw was the made an omelet with the wrong cheese. My wife kindly asked them to remake it because she doesn't like Swiss. They just gave us the same omelet back with sprinkled unmelted cheese over the Swiss like she wouldn't notice. Will never be going back here. read more

Ok, to be clear...4-5 stars for the service....2 stars for the food. This is an interesting place. It's on a busy, main street (Beach blvd) tucked in a small strip center with another restaurant and other businesses. You walk inside and you're not sure if it wants to be a sports bar (basketball and tennis were on 4 TV's) or a liquor store (they sell Lotto tickets and have 2 monitors showing the draws). Each table has Lotto forms to fill out even! Add groceries and liquor, and you'll have a little bodega in Westminster! Anyways, back to the restaurant itself. It appears to be frequented by locals. We were promptly seated and our server took our drink orders. In fact, he was very attentive and checked on us at a good interval. As one reviewer said, they had Smucker's Apple Cinnamon jam in those little pods. That is a very unique and rare flavor! I'm not sure why I didn't take some "for the road"! Argh! I had come here since I was craving for a reasonably priced, authentic Monte Cristo sandwich. The menu described it as being deep fried so I was confident in my order. Well, I'm not really sure if it was deep fried or just quickly flash fried. It tasted like it was simply dipped in egg and grilled on all sides. But, the ends had a crust to them as well. So, I can only guess that they just don't dip the sandwich is a deep frying type batter. Hence, my slight disappointment. In addition, the preserves was nothing to write home about. Taste wise, it was okay. There was a little sweetness because of the jam (not preserve). The bread was a bit mushy as well. So, my search for the perfect or even good MC sandwich continues. Super fast service, we ordered gyros, and sandwich & salad during a West Justice Center break and were out the door in under an hour. Decor and price is just what you would expect for a diner at this stage. But the clientele is slightly different from what you would expect, because Greek food is ordinarily heavy, there were very few heavy people there. My gyro and onion rings were substantially carb heavy, but I left feeling full, not stuffed. Nice balance. Well recommended, we will return. read more

I have been here two times. The first time , I wasn't not impressed with the eggs Benedict . It was bland , lacked seasoning and the hollandaise sauce was sour. Additionally service was so so slow even though it was not busy. Regardless of the first time experience , I decided to give it another chance. Now I went again , and was not impressed again. The host was very nice and sat us right away . It was not busy so we got to choose our seat outside . They have a no smoking sign yet customers were smoking anyways and none of the staff said anything . Our waitress not only took 15 minutes to get our drink orders , she was very short and rude . Additionally, she took another 15 to get our food order. And throughout our time dining , she didn't even come to check on us , or refill our water / coffee . She didn't even come to give us the check . We had to get the host to get it to us. Now for the food, the sausages were the best part of the meal.
