Got wings Togo and they were great!! Perfect amount of sauce and cooked to perfection. They had so much meat on them. Def can't wait to order again and try a few more things on the menu. We ordered online and they were out of zucchini. We went with mushrooms instead. Mushrooms were very average. I had a ham and cheese with lettuce and mayonnaise. Most would say it was a great sandwich but it was awful. It had so much ham I couldn't get my mouth around it. Consequently the ham slide out all over. There was so much mayo that the ham was a total mess. I threw 2/3 of the sandwich away. We won't be back. read more

Had a 14 inch pizza plus 25 wings and an order of rings. The Rings are so good. If you stop by a must try. The pizza was delicious, a good thin crust za. The wings are what we came here for me and my bud like to try wings at new places. Saw the reviews were in the area. So let's go. The waitress was sweet and provided great service. She did bamboozle us a lil hence only 4 stars hehe. We asked how the wings were. She replied they are awesome. So we ordered 25 hot. She pauses then tells us that their hot is sometimes compared to other's suicide. I love a good hot wing but not lookin for heartburn. Tellin us she loves hot stuff and can barely easy like 3 before it becomes too much. So we order medium. They were really good and she did bring us sides of the hot sauce to dip and try. We tried again after bad experiences with gristle in the steak sandwiches several times in the last year. YAY! The last two times the meat was perfect! No gristle! Glad we now check orders of any takeout place we visit because they substituted fries for the zucchini, but that was corrected. So now we'll be back as happy customers when we're in the area. Stopped here for lunch w my amazing GF as she had been telling me this is a must. Yup, she was right! This was her weekly go to spot throughout her life. Grinders are awesome along w the fried and mushrooms. Good menu variation from pizza to wings and even a gallon of their sauce to take home. Nice vibe w the patrons. Uncle Sam's has been my favorite pizza and wings place since I was a kid eating at the Shea & 101 location. Their wings are crispy and the sauce is amazing! I personally love their plain sausage pizza but my family loves the Aunt Sam as well as the grinders. Their crinkle cut french fries are also amazing dipped in a side of mild wing sauce!! Uncle Sam's is nothing fancy, but it's a great local place with consistently good food! read more

Have driven past this place many times & decided to finally try it. One of the draws was the professional looking menu + advertising premium wine by the glass. The wine is terrible & I've never known a wine that is less than $7 in the store to be called premium, UGH. Tried the calzone & it also was terrible due to the crust tasting like the generic wrapped supermarket bread from many years ago; no flavor. I have read that Sheriff Joe of Maricopa County is being sued by this place for raiding it looking for illegal Mexicans. Joe could have saved the county plenty of $$$$ & time as I don't think there are any Mexicans here, legal or otherwise, since they do know how to cook. read more

I'll start off by saying the staff was very friendly and the service was great. I had the meatball sub and ended up taking the meatballs off and throwing them away. The veggies, cheese, and sauce were great. The meatballs on the other hand were extremely dry and over cooked to the point where I ate one and a half and ditched the rest. It seemed like they had been sitting on a hot grill for days. I only left a two star review for the meatballs. I'm sure they have a lot of great food, but I will skip the meatballs and I suggest everyone else does until they figure out how to properly cook them. I will most likely return and try something else because of the friendly staff. read more

What happened to the old Uncle Sam's, we used to go there and get great food for the best price. Now there are a bunch of young employees, probably school age, appear not interested in the customer. I ordered the Pastrami Hoagie supposed to be warm, the inside was cold, they did take it back and provided one that was warmer however now the bun was over toasted. My daughter order a Italian sub and wanted Italian dressing and what was provided was a small container of what looked like orange something, oil based, we sent it back and what came to us was balsamic vinegar dressing...terrible. Sent that back the manager said this is the best because it came straight from the bottle...it was again Balsamic Vinegar not Italian dressing which is what the old Uncle Sam used to provide. The waitress was young and new, my grandson order small order of wings which on the menu states a small was 25 and he got 6 which that was not what the menu said and the waitress was not aware that the menu did not match what a small actually was. We also ordered a basket of fries (the basket smaller) they came out with fries that were old, yes they were warm however we could tell they were old and sitting for a while. They took away the old and replaced with a new basket of fries. We did receive a 20% discount but we would prefer better service and better food. Not sure if it has been taken over by someone new or what has happened but I would think twice before eating there. read more

I just ordered food for pick up. The worst experience I have had in a long time. I have lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and I have been to uncle Sams many many times. I was so disappointed in the food but more importantly with the owner Brett. He was defensive and interrupted me throughout the conversation. He did not care about me as a customer nor did he show any kind of understanding. For an owner to have such a disregard for his customers it shows how little he really cares about producing quality food. Don't go to Uncle Sam's. I am a native of the Philadelphia area so I know a bit about cheese steaks and hoagies. My wife and I have been looking for a local restaurant where we could get good Philadelphia food and when we saw an ad for Uncle Sam's we were excited that maybe this could be the place. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The insides of the sandwiches were fine but the rolls failed the test. We went there for the first time tonight. They must have had their good servers outside. The waitress we had was terrible. Had a bad attitude and was very upset that my husband didn't order alcohol, I was drinking and he was driving. So yeah. We were a party of 10 and so she knew she was getting a tip no matter how her service was. We asked for additional appetizers and they came with dinner. And she totally forgot one dinner. I legitimately will never give this place another try again. The first time we came here (boyfriend and I) we ordered a pizza, mozzarella sticks, and french fries. In the meantime, a waitress was bussing the table behind us and was extremely loud talking to another employee. And when I say loud, I mean LOUD. But that's not what bothered me. What bothered me is what she said... "WOW! I didn't think they were going to tip me that much because they were black!" Referring to the family at the table that had just left. This is absolutely unacceptable, and I don't care what age, race, or what establishment you work in. Advice to the owners/managers- don't hire ignorant staff! Aside from that the food was just okay. Pizza was comparable to something that comes out of a frozen-food box, mozzarella sticks came out luke-warm (meaning the cheese was hard) and french fries were comparable to what you get in a grade-school cafeteria. Second time we were here we came for what we thought would be a quick lunch. Serivce was so absolutely slow an incompetent. I ordered a garden salad (or whatever version of that is the small version) and the lettuce came out soggy and there was water at the bottom of the salad bowl. Talk about unappetizing. The whole meal service took nearly an hour and twenty minutes. So much for a quick lunch.. ' The third and last time I came here, I came with the idea that maybe "the third time's a charm." Boy was I wrong. I ordered the dinner Ceasar salad, boyfriend ordered a small 7" pizza with buffalo sauce instead of marinara, and we shared a side of fries. My salad came out with the most unappetizing lettuce I have ever eaten in my life. The lettuce was wilted and nearly rotten, and seemed as if the romaine was cut in half (referencing the large pieces of lettuce). His pizza came out with barbeque sauce instead of buffalo. The waitress took it back, but when she did she took the tray and poked and prodded her fingers around the pizza to ensure that it was barbecue and not buffalo. Regardless of the fact that we didn't eat it that's still disgusting. Aside from the terrible food and service, this place is dirty (and by dirty that's a compliment) and dingy and is nothing impressive to look at. No, I will not give this place another try. I rarely give 5 star reviews out, but Uncle Sams deserves it. I always order the half cheese steak with onions, and a side of mayo, ranch and sweet peppers. For a side I usually get either the fries, onion rings, mushrooms, or zuccini. But the fries satisfy me the most. Uncle Sam's (Or Tio Samí as I like to call it) is a great spot! The Honey Hot Wings are superb as is the Philly Cheesesteak. If your friend goes "Around The World", he may just drink the left over wing sauce! Tio Samí has far more TVs than overhead lights, which is great! What's not great: No HDTV - thats the only thing preventing Tio Samí from being a bonafide 5 Star Experience. read more

I had lunch there today. They were very busy. The waitress was very busy & really hustling to serve her customers. My party of 3 was patiently waiting for a table. Whomever was checking patrons out & directing servers to seat customers was extremely rude & condescending to his servers. When we were seated our server was excellent. Tonight was the worst experience here yet. We were seated promptly but then waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. There was a group of 6 servers just standing there with a mostly empty restaurant. When the waitress finally came over she apologized and said she would have the manager come talk to us. He never came. We got our food and everything was fine. Then we went outside and were talking to some friends that came in as we were leaving. There is a window to the kitchen outside. We witnessed the cooks eating in the kitchen. And then we witnessed a cook take off his gloves, reach into his pocket and pull out what I believe was Anbesol and put the medicine in his mouth over the fry station. He then grabbed the glove box and put new gloves on, didn't even bother to wash his hands. Most disgusting thing I've ever witnessed in a restaurant. They just lost our business for good. read more

I went to Shadow Mountain high school down the street from here so I was here alot growing up. Place used to be great back in the days when Sam and Said were running it. It was impossible to find a place to park on the weekend. It's been on a steady decline ever since they left. I've heard the owner has family money and is well off. He must keep sinking that cash into the place to keep it afloat. No idea how else it stays open. He took over from his father and tried to expand the brand but failed miserably, obviously has no idea what he's doing. I go there for cheap tap beer from time to time and it's always a ghost town. I dont dare eat the food after noticing cockroaches on several occasions. Some of the servers are cute and there's usually like 5 of them working for the 3 tables in the place so they're free to chat which is cool. I think the kitchen staff sits in the back and plays poker. Guy I sat next to the other day waited like 25 minutes for a pizza and a sandwich to go when there were 2 tables in there. Place is a disaster. Peoria location is the same story. It's sad to see a once great neighborhood spot take such a fall from grace due to incompetent management. read more

I hate to do it.... I've been eating here since 2000, this is my favorite local family restaurant. Tonight I'm dining in with my family of 5. Ordered the usual zucchini and mushroom basket and ask for a few extra ranch... I'm told they charge for any extra containers. The containers are 3 oz. are you telling me that's enough for my 5 family members to share? The 80¢ they want to charge for each extra isn't the point, it's common sense.. That's not enough for 5 people!!!! Totally ridiculous... Is it enough that drinks are 2.75 each? Whatever... we've always enjoyed this place, but I'm not supporting this ridiculousness.
