Although it may feel pricey, just look at the price for a single slice of say Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. What's also interesting is that you basically have 3 ways to eat this cheesecake: room temperature, chilled (refrigerator), and cold (freezer). It sounds pretentious but I swear it's not haha, it just allows you to enjoy very distinct textures with the same cheesecake. If someone likes it more fluffy, have it fresh at room temperature. Love the fluffy Japanese cheesecakes at Uncle Tetsu. I don't like cheesecake, but love the Japanese kind because their fluffy more like a cake. I'm so glad there's a location closer to me. It's still about a 15 to 20 minute drive depending on traffic (I'm in Riverside near La Sierra Ave.) but at least I don't have to drive to Orange County or LA to get them anymore. Every time I go, the staff is friendly and just found out from this location that they have a loyalty card. No one ever told me at the other locations. So happy because I can now get a free cheesecake. I recently stopped by last week and their current special cheesecake is Black Sesame. I had to get it and it's very yummy. I always get their original and their Oreo, but they had sold out of that one. I did go around 8 pm, so definitely need to go earlier. They always have samples of their cake to try which is nice because you get to taste the different flavors they have. They're located at The Station off of Cantu Galleano Ranch Rd & Hamner Ave in Eastvale. There's plenty of parking since it's located in a retail center. First time I had an Uncle Tetsu was about 4 years ago when a co-worker offered to bring some Japanese Cheesecake from the Arcadia location. I LOVE cheesecake and having just had some Zanze's (look it up), was on a cheesecake binge. My co-worker raved about it so I got the regular one (didn't know there were flavors) and honestly, was pretty disappointed. I owe that to having great expectations and also, not knowing what Japanese cheesecake was. Do NOT expect traditional cheesecake...this is a cross between cake, cheesecake and LIGHT pound cake in different flavors. Anyway, today I went to the nearby In n' Out and decided to give it another shot and got an Ube and an Oreo. I was pleasantly surprised. Again, it's not a sweet treat by any means and the flavor is subtle and delicate. I recommend giving it a try but do not expect "cheesecake". I went in to get some cheesecake for my staff to tryout. Got Japanese cheesecakes (original and ube). They were light, creamy and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it. My favorite is Ube. I also had ube cookies which is fluffy like a cake with powdered sugar. Service was great. The service lady was very receptive and helpful. The place is clean and well maintained. The first time I came here I didn't know what to expect. I had never tried Japanese cheesecake. But after the first bite, I was a big fan. First time I tried the ube cheesecake. It's so soft and delicious and creamy! The guy behind the counter was super friendly and patient. The second time I went I got the pandan coconut. I have tried Uncle Tetsu before and they never fail me. I live closer to a new competitor who does the same thing but I went to their location at 2 pm during the week and they sold out ! And said they weren't making more. Uncle Tetsu would never do me that dirty. Theses locations consistently make and bake through the day. So if you come at open or 4 pm your going to find some yummy cheesecake. The flavor is always on point and has never done me wrong. I got the Oreo and classic cheesecake and it's so good! They are sweet but not overpowering and super light that it melts in your mouth. I can't not recommend this place enough because it's consistently good. I have yet to have a bad experience at an uncle Tetsu. I will mention this location is very much just a grab and go. They do not have seating inside it's just a bare store front. They do not have bathrooms inside available for use that I could see. This is very much a come buy what you need then leave. The parking is very accessible and it's in an up and coming shopping area. It's worth the stop. I will definitely be coming back for my jiggly cheesecake needs. It is a little pricy for cheesecake but it's worth it. read more

It's not like sponge cake (dry) and not like traditional cheesecake (thick). I've heard so many good reviews about Uncle Tetsu and now experienced it for myself! Delish! There are different flavor options; original, ube and Oreo being their most popular per the employee who helped us (great service by the way - greets you right away and helps describe their options). They have samples and today was the rose/lychee flavor - so light and floral, I can see this being a perfect option for a bridal shower or baby shower. There are also tarts and basque burnt cake option too...which i want to try but hubs isn't into burned things lol! The ube cheesecake was airy and delicious, most importantly it wasn't too sweet. We also bought the 3 pack of biscotti which came with matcha, ube and pandan. They were all really yummy, but pandan was my favorite. Hooray! I am so excited to have an Uncle Tetsu closer to home. They were offering samples on the day that I went, so I got to try a sample of their lychee rose cheesecake. The employee was so sweet. These cheesecakes are fluffier and lighter than American cheesecakes, so keep that in mind. That would've been my choice but I chose strawberry. I'm not exactly sure what this is but it was not what I was thinking cheesecake would be like at all. It's not even similar to the outside of a mochi. It's more like a moist angel food cake perhaps. Decided to try Uncle Tetsu, let me tell you the Original Tart is delicious!! I would be coming back to try other tart flavors. The Tarts are a pretty good size, not too small nor too big, just perfect. I also tried the cheesecake and it was pretty good. So I went in on Easter Sunday, yes I know on a Holiday, but surprisingly they were open. I walked in and was nicely greeted by the staff. A young lady Angelina assisted us. She didn't seem to want to be there working on Easter which I completely understand it's a Holiday but when you are at work you need to be professional. So straight to my point, I would not hire someone like Angelina no customer service at all. She was very dramatic and seemed very frustrated when I was not upset or rude about her taking my order wrong. She yelled for help and let me tell you this place is not big so there was no need to be loud. A very nice gentleman came named Kelly he fixed the order and refunded me and apologized. Went to Uncle Tetsu during the weekday. They had everything available except the burnt basque cheesecake, 2 flavors for the cheesecake. Also, it seemed like they ran out of fruit toppings for their Cheese tart. I ordered a panda coconut cheesecake, seasonal lychee rose cheesecake, and two strawberry cheese tarts. The cheese tarts were missing strawberries on top, so kind of miffed they didn't mention that when I bought it. The pandan cheesecake has a mildly strong pandan taste more than the coconut shreds. The seasonal lychee rose is not bad and my wife seems to enjoy it. However, I feel like the taste is too much rose and not enough lychee. Overall, I enjoyed majority of what I bought but would not recommend the seasonal cheesecake for folks that have sweeter tastebuds. read more

I realize it's not the usual thick cheesecake you buy at the larger chains but at least for me, those tasted so much better. Personal favorite is the cheesecake at Whole Foods. It would have also been nice if for a first-time customer, there was actually some recommendations and/or suggestions. After walking in, basically zero amount of help or even a simple hello.
