Uncle tetsu is always a treat! Their cheesecakes are so good, but I do like their burnt cakes more. This time I ordered the pandan coconut cake. It had strong flavors and very fluffy, as always. Almost like an angel food cake. Their cheese tarts are also delicious. I would say I prefer the tarts more than the cheesecakes. All flavors are so good ! I have been back to this Uncle Tetsu a few times now, but didn't think to do an updated review until now. They currently have one of its specialty flavors... Mango Cheesecake. It's described as melt-in-your-mouth soft and subtly sweet. It is available for a limited time, along with other seasonal flavors like Matcha Cheesetart and Mango Basque Cake. We were celebrating my youngest daughter's HS graduation and it happened to be on Father's Day 2025. I tried a free sample of the Mango Cheesecake. It did melt in my mouth maybe a little too much and it wasn't too sweet which I like. Unfortunately, I didn't care for it because it didn't have the strong mango flavor I was looking for. I do love mangos! Anyway, I ended up buying 3 Original Cheesecakes to give to my Mom and two younger brothers and 1 Mango Basque Cake to be eaten at the lunch. Mango Basque Cake was surprisingly very good. It was slightly denser in texture compared to their other cheesecakes. I got a little bit more mango flavor, but not too much more though. Funny, when I first saw it, it looked very tiny. I was like... are we going to have enough for 11 people? LOL I had to cut them in bite size for sure. Luckily, it all worked out. Everyone got one small intimate slice! I returned here in the evening on the same day because I promised my youngest daughter I would get 1 Original Cheesecake for home. Got one of them plus one Original Cheese Tart (first time trying it)... crust was very buttery + flaky and cheese mousse filling was exceptionally creamy... it was delish! I'll be getting more of them in the different flavors in the very near future LOL. Funny, when my daughter first saw the Original Cheesecake, she noticed it was missing the Uncle Tetsu print. What happened??? Did the imprint machine went out of commission that day? Anyway, it didn't matter. Most importantly, the cheesecake was in its entirety and now it's all gone! LOL The morning staff was okay (not too smiley though), but the evening staff was better (got more smiles... thank you young man!). Service was quick as it usually is. Btw, they are cashless so bring a credit card or gift card and not cash! This location is the closest to my home so it'll be the one I will frequently visit when it's time for the yummy and delicious Japanese Original Cheesecake. I heard a lot of great things about this place so we had to try it out. Just so people can know, they fo have mini cheesecakes available so you won't have to indulge on a large cheesecake. We ordered the strawberry mini and the original mini. The mini costs $7. Overall, they taste delicious. They were fluffy and moist and had a light tartness in them. The ladies in the back were super helpful and they even let us taste some samples. There's not much of a seating area inside so definitely order your things to take home or you can just enjoy them on the tables outside. The best thing about Uncle Tetsu cakes is that they can be great presents, with the cute jiggles and the very light sweetness. I came in December, so they had a smores seasonal cheesecake. I was going to just get the regular strawberry one, but once I saw the seasonal smores, I had to get two of those instead. I've never tried Uncle Tetsu before, even though they've been open at the Arcadia Mall for a while. I decided to surprise my boyfriend with this pandan coconut cake for his birthday since he loves pandan plus it was a good excuse for me to finally try it too! I've only ever been to the Uncle Tetsu at the Santa Anita Westfield mall (Arcadia) and it's always busy there plus finding parking is usually challenging. I noticed there was a seasonal Cherry Blossom flavor so ofc I had to try it. Luckily they had it out (covered) for samples. I couldn't really taste a difference in this seasonal cheesecake. It had pretty flowers baked onto it, a pink hue to the cake and cutest packaging. lol I think I really wanted the bag more than the cake. I was promptly started assisted the moment I stepped into the store, it was not busy for a late Saturday afternoon. The store looked well kept and clean. Always so clean and quick with the orders. My reason for the 4 starts is because this location DOES NOT accept cash and they didn't tell me until AFTER they bagged everything. They should communicate it at the registers or place a sign for those who don't have card or phone payments. Why not have my cards? Unlike the American cheesecakes that are dense and creamy, Japanese cheesecakes are super light and fluffy, and the flavors are subtle. They have a slight jiggle to them and each cake comes with Uncle Tetsu branded on top of the cake. They also have seasonal stamps, including birthday branding when placing a pre-order. The cakes only come in one size but they also offer cheese tarts. I have only tried their Original Cheese Tart and the flavor was good; however, the filling wasn't set solid. I'm not sure if that's how they usually are but I've only ordered it once. I've enjoyed the service from the staff here and they are always super friendly. They were very helpful during my first visit. And the space is very clean - as it should be! They also have a stamp card where you get rewarded a free cheesecake after x-amount of cheesecakes purchased. I've brought these as gifts when visiting friends or family, and they were always a hit! Anytime I'm in the area, I try to come here and purchase at least a cake. I love the Coffee flavor the best but it's only available as a seasonal item. My next favorite is Ube, which is available year-round. It's just so good! And I think it looks the most attractive. I also enjoyed the Strawberry and Oreo cakes. The presence of the store was very clean in the inside and outside. I've been to many Uncle Tetsu in Canada, but this was the first location in the states. There were a lot more flavor selections including; cherry blossom, ube, pandan, matcha, yuzu, strawberry, and coffee. The best part was they offered samples! The day I went in they were sampling the Pandan Cheesecake, and it tasted better than my original thought of it. Every cake sold should a stamp of Uncle Tetsu on it. Had to save room for this! I have never tried it before and was super excited that there is a location nearby my friend's house. Store is super cute and welcoming. I made it just in time before closing! I love me some Uncle Tetsu and didn't know about this location. As I was driving up to a Yelp event, I saw UT and my eyes lit up, lol. I parked right next to it so I could get my fix. I ended up going to the event first and then left right before 8 to get my yummies from here. They close at 8, so I was hoping I would make it. I was the last customer of the day, and everything was pretty much put away, but the lady was nice and had the cheesecakes ready to go. She bagged them up, and I paid for my goodies. Great in and out experience as with any Uncle Tetsu I have been to. This one is about 3 times the size of the one in San Diego.
