    The Shore Dinner
    Jim R.

Maybe at some point there was a pier that they were under but it, along with any nearby water, has long disappeared! Its location is on Route 13 in Levittown and the closest water must be a few miles away, but I digress... If you're looking for an old fashioned down the shore feeling seafood restaurant, this is it! (When was the last time you had Oyster Crackers?) The menu is fairly large and we both were in the mood for some fried platters. Both were very large, inexpensive and very good. The Fried Shrimp Plate had 6 large butterflied shrimp with a tasty fried coating along with "sea chips" (fried round cuts of potatoes) and slaw. The Shore Dinner had an assortment of fried flounder, crab cake, clam cake, fried oyster fried shrimp along with the sea chips and slaw. I don't think they take reservations and there was a short wait on a Friday night for a table. They do have cocktails as well as beer ( some on tap) Cash only. Date night location - no. Fun experience - yes.

Food was pretty good. I usually have enough for 2 meals. My pink squirrel was delicious! Service -- meh. Ambiance- I wouldn't take my date there... it's sort of dumpy.

Great value and service. The shrimp were the hit of the Shore Dinner. Sea chips were a nice change too.

One of the few seafood restaurants left in the area. Lacking in ambience and few options for sides. The seafood itself is good.

Cozy humble (tiny) seafood spot with retro decor. Solid seafood, the fried crab cakes are bomb.

People love this place ... I say that because we were there late afternoon during the week and it was busy ... and it kept getting busier. I do understand why folks love it tho, because there's no other real seafood "shack" in the area specifically where folks can get their blue claw crabs. It truly does look and feel like a seafood shack because the wooden walls, brown paper on the table, paper towels on the table and overall decor scream "We are at the beach in a small southern town in the middle of nowhere where" lol Our server was great! She was very attentive and made recommendations... she was also very patient with us given that this was our first time here and we're a bit undecided on what we wanted to order. Now on to the food - this is honestly where I was underwhelmed. The broiled seafood had a whisper of flavor, the crab cake left a lot to be desired and the garlic buffalo shrimp were overwhelmingly buffalo sauce on top of fried shrimp. Now the clam chowder I had was amazing and I even ordered some to go. My friend enjoyed her crab legs meal overall and perhaps if we visit again that's the route I'll go. Oh and it's also a BYOB , so, be sure to grab your favorite bottle and bring it on in.

The sauce was amazing! I love fried mushrooms and not too many restaurants still have them so they were a perfect side for me, the mashed potatoes were good just needed to be added to the butter garlic for an amazing taste. Definitely a must go to restaurant. Seating was kind of tight being directly at the door but all in all an amazing experience

Five Four Bar & Grill has a large U shaped bar, stage for live bands, pool tables, booth seating,…read moretable seating and an area to have a catered event in a private room. They can hold 20-500 people for private events according to their website. The inside is dark and could use a bit of a refresh, but I wouldn't say it's close to the level of dive. It's certainly on the larger side compared to most bars in the area. The staff has always been nice, but service can get slow when the crowd size grows. Just the nature of things. Food wise the menu has a typical mix of pub grub - apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and several entrees. A friend was eating their jumbo Buffalo Shrimp off the starter menu and raved about them. I stuck to a Cheesesteak which was average but a deal at $9.50 -- the chopped steak was decent, cheese was good just needed a bit more. Hot peppers gave it some kick and the long roll was fresh. Their beer menu has around a dozen beers on tap. They dabble in more mainstream big beer/craft beer like your Goose Island IPA's/Lagunitas IPA, but do have a decent show of locals like Yards, Victory, Troegs and Weyerbacher. Bourbon wise I had a Knob Creek neat which was average price wise. The pour was on the generous side. Each time I've been here the crowds have been friendly and having a good time. The band we listened to was great and the sound was crisp. Five Four is a family friendly grill during the day and a fun place for adults later at night. Thanks guys!

Drift caught our eye and WOW I'm glad it did. With Brunch offerings every Sunday along with live music and endless pastas on Wednesday nights. Drift is raising the bar and is an entire vibe on Mill St. A handful of tables by the bar and a separate dining room or outdoor seating - all unique in their own way and each offer a different feel in the restaurant. Our server was a delight. So excited to tell us all about the place and answer questions along the way. She kept our glasses full all the while tending bar and other tables. The vodka chicken sandwich was well done, tasty and crisp dredged in a thick vodka sauce and adorned with cheese. It did come with tomato but it was a little odd like it just didn't belong. I just added it to my generous side salad (an option instead of fries). This salad was packed full of fresh greens, cukes & tomatoes with a most delightful dressing. His French dip was full of flavor with tender med rare beef delicately sliced thin and high. The au jus that accompanied it was a nice compliment to the sandwich. We sat in a comfy booth with a view of the bar TVs and close enough to enjoy the live musician. A perfect place to grab a quick lunch and we will definitely be back!
