Best crab cakes around. I won't order out crab cakes from other places any more because they don't compare to Chucky's.

The ground lamb didn't overpower the already expertly executed hummus and added fantastic depth and richness. We also sprung for the grilled calamari tubes and the chef did a great job of not overcooking while achieving an excellent char. We shared the baked cod and the spice was delicate and perfect. Using cured lemon was a very clever idea as the sauce was not too strong but still had depth; the saffron and turmeric were well balanced. The fish itself was NOT overcooked and flaked perfectly. The vegetables were also executed well and cooked so they could be eaten with the same bite. The star of the show was still the cook on the fish with the wonderful sauce. The sever gave us some Moroccan mint tea which was also wonderful. We will be making the drive from the Maine Line to just to dine here again.

The service was incredibly friendly and gracious and the ambiance charming. We started with hot appetizers of roasted artichokes, pan fried Halloumi cheese, Spanakopita and an evening special hummus with spiced, minced lamb served with warm pita. All so delicious we were tempted to forego our main courses of moussaka, lamb kebab and delicious lemon/caper cod served over a bed of roasted root vegetable. Desserts, celebrated with a happy birthday candle on a scrumptious chocolate/hazelnut cake , walnut baklava and Turkish coffee made the evening complete. This BYOB gem is a culinary find and we will be going back soon.

We start with grilled shrimps. They are different from any grilled shrimps we have had, and they are delicious. Then we have lobster mac n cheese, mix seafood tajin, and Seven Seas Steam Combo for the 3 of us. Everything's tastes amazing and fresh. Service is great and friendly. Don't be afraid of the pricing. We probably only need 2 entrees, as the serving size is huge! If you share the entrees, it really isn't that expensive, esp. for great seafood. We don't have room for dessert, but as we head out, we can see the dessert display and regret not getting something. The cakes look great.

This time, I confirmed with the waitress how it would be prepared, but what came out was completely different, filleted with a tomato based sauce, peppers, and onions. I told them that was not what we discussed and made it clear I'm allergic to tomatoes. I was told it wouldn't be a problem to make the fish I actually requested. Instead of remaking the dish, they took the same fish back, removed the toppings, left the tomato residue and brought it back out with the same side; including cold rice. After I clearly stated an allergy, serving the same fish with the tomato residue is unacceptable. This was careless and disappointing. If a customer mentions a food allergy, the dish should be remade, not modified and sent back out.

Another double date with our foodie friend's pick…read more And wow what a pick! A beautifully decorated (both outside and inside) quaint restaurant, with a visible pizza oven. We shared a literally beautiful antipasto for an appetizer. It boasted fresh mozzarella balls, eggplant, artichokes, sweet red peppers, prosciutto, and olives. We had a good and soft loaf of bread with a yummy olive oil and balsamic dip too. Our meals were ALL tremendous! We had pasta dishes - gnocchi marsala and fettuccine with clams - EXCELLENT! I had plenty of sauce left to dip the soft bread into :) The other couple had octopus (appetizer) and seafood atop squid ink pappardelle pasta. They loved their dishes as well. Of course we didn't have room for dessert, but our chocolate wine and other wines were definitely sufficient. BYOB's are great and money saving. This place is a bit of a haul but I hope to get back in the future !

We had heard about La Voglia and decided to try it out! We went on a Friday evening and it wasn't…read moretoo crowded. The restaurant has a warm feel to it and is decorated nicely. They serve a delicious homemade bread that's warm when it's brought the table. In addition, it's accompanied by a dish of olive oil, with balsamic vinegar and what I believed to be a spicy dusting of pepper. It was a little too spicy for me - however, I did like the addition of the balsamic as a change from just olive oil. I would skip the pepper though, unless you like spice. We ordered the Polpette as an appetizer; it's a 'tradition' of mine. If meatballs are on the menu, I will always order them. These lamb, veal and beef meatballs were very good, and the marinara sauce they came in was excellent! The sauce is actually a 'roasted pomodoro' gravy - which is an 'intensified' version of a classic Italian sauce. It's made by roasting the tomatoes at a very high heat and almost caramelizing them. A little feta was added to the sauce, which really highlighted those meatballs!! We split the order - as 5 meatballs is quite a large appetizer! We decided to share two entrees - the Beef Short Ribs and the Lobster Ravioli. I always ask if the short ribs are lean - our server responded they were very lean...and they were. Soft, tender and very flavorful large chunks of beef, with a deliciously rich gravy with mushrooms on a bed a creamy garlic mashed potatoes! It was a superb dish! The website said the Short Ribs were the restaurant's most popular meal. Next, the Lobster Ravioli. The dish was a very 'delicate' one, with a very subtle brandy cream sauce. It had chopped jumbo shrimp and peeled cherry tomatoes with the raviolis. While the sauce tasted fine, it needed 'something' - we added pepper which helped. The raviolis were good - we couldn't taste lobster in the cheese of the raviolis - we assumed it was there. The chopped shrimps though provided a nice additional seafood flavor. I like my raviolis tender - the kind that almost melt in your mouth. The pasta here was firmer - a little more 'al dente', but it was fine. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Mousse. Served in a martini glass, the mousse had a velvety texture with a deep dark chocolate flavor. It was very rich yet light and fluffy; a good choice for dessert!

The menu has many interesting items and the shared appetizers were a good start. The Arancini was very good as was the Special Grilled Octopus in a Hummus Salad. There were 4 of us and we all felt that the entrees were good but didn't rise to what our expectations were, based on other reviews. The Lobster Gnocchi was good but seemed to be missing the lobster. The best part of the Scallop Risotto was the perfectly seared Scallops but the risotto itself was just ok. The Fiochi di Pere was good but overall didn't have all that much flavor. The Chicken Parmigiana was a very generous portion of chicken and pasta but the Italian seasoning was almost overpowering. I don't like writing reviews like this but like I said, we're in the minority review-wise on this one. Give it a try. Our experience just wasn't as good as what we expected.

Excellent food and service at this local BYOB spot in Hatboro…read more It's a cozy room with about a dozen tables, kitchen in the back. Walked in at 8PM on a Friday, seated right away. Shout out to our server Faye. She greeted us with a smile, explained the specials and made some recommendations which were spot-on. Checked back with us just the right number of times. Time from order to service about 10 minutes. Food was piping hot at service. Tried 2 of the daily specials. The first, a butternut squash and pear salad. Half inch chunks of soft and flavorful squash tossed with greens, oil, vinegar and garlic plus walnuts. Dressed with thin slices of juicy ripe pear. Delicious combo of flavors. Yum! Another special is grouper. A nice sized filet of pan-fried-to-perfection grouper is glazed with a lemon/butter sauce. It's topped with 3 broiled shrimp and served over risotto. The rissoto is treated to a touch of that lemon butter glaze. Creamy and rich, flecked with kernelsnof sweet corn. Grouper is flaky, white and tender. The lemon in the sauce is a great contrast to the sweet fish. Shrimp perfect - crisp and firm. An outstanding dish! Lastly, lamb chops. Prepared perfectly medium, the meat tender and juicy. Served with fingerling potatoes and (on request) grilled asparagus. Give this place a try, you will NOT be disappointed.

I give them 1 star only because they don't let you give them zero stars…read more I got their, "Dockside Classics Gourmet Lobster Cakes" I put them into a toaster oven and baked them, and baked them, and baked them, and baked them. No matter how long you bake them, the 'contents' never firm-up. "Slop" would be the best description. The outside? One would THINK that eventually the coating would brown and crisp-up. Nope. "Harder Slop" would be the best description. I then tried flattening them as thin as I could, figuring if I bake them long enough, they would crisp-up. Nope. "More dispersed fish-slop that kind of got brown" is what I would call it in the end. If I were creating a tombstone for this slop, I would name it, "The best thing I can say about it is, I didn't throw it away". I would say a porpoise should feel proud if they pooped something that tastes this good; but I would not insult garbage by calling it garbage. Did anybody at the company ever eat this? Or prepare it like the instructions say to prepare it? And they are PROUD to have made this? Those who are looking at this review BEFORE you buy it, here's a hint... "They put all their money into the photo that goes on the box!" Oh, I forgot to mention the, "dipping sauce". When it was cold? It was strange, and I didn't want to even try it. It was a mix between oil that one has mixed corn starch (which doesn't mix together, of course). So, the 'dipping sauce' is slimy garlic oil. When Christine came into the Kitchen, she went, "What is THAT SMELL?" Then, when she saw the warmed-up-in-the-microwave-to-make-it-near-palatable oil... she said, "Is that a raw egg?" So, no, the company did not get ANYTHING RIGHT except for the photo on the box. Those look like things that AREN'T porpoise pus.
