I may not be the right audience for Under Wraps, but I do love a good sushi roll, so I was excited to give this place a try. It's theme is all around anime and Japanese culture, but every staff member I saw was white and looked fresh off a Mormon mission. Not that it's a bad thing, but I question the authenticity. The "hand rolls" are not the traditional cone shape, they look like regular sushi rolls that were just not cut to bite size. They were tricky to eat-too big for two bites, but after two, the ingredients fell apart and made for a clumsy dining experience. One of my rolls wasn't even full all the way-it looked like they ran out of rice. The flavor was pretty good, however. Service was fine-nothing outstanding, but we didn't wait longer than I felt was reasonable. I'm not sure I'll rush to come back, but by the looks of how busy they were on a Friday night, they don't really need my business.

This is one of the best sushi restaurants in all of Utah. Hands down the best in Utah county. I went for lunch and need to come back for dinner service. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted even better. The combination of flavors and textures were all pleasant surprises. I need to come do one of their movie themed dinner services too. Great service

We did one of their themed dinners - Ratatouille! It was soooo much fun and I would highly recommend. The food was fantastic. I truly appreciate the culinary skill that the chef demonstrated with this themed dinner. Everything was truly amazing. So fresh, flavorful, and the presentation was amazing! I loved the Brie bite with the strawberry touch. I also loved the potato soup. I truly think it was the best potato soup I've ever had. The texture was perfect as well. I will definitely be back for another themed dinner and also a dinner during regular business hours. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Utah!

I LOVEEEE under wraps. It is the best of best. All the workers are so nice and the owner always comes and chats if he's in. They also always have an anime movie playing and no other restaurants I know do that. We always get the sesame ginger salad and it is the BEST. The pickled daikon in it is so yummy and the sauce is so simple and refreshing. The waygu burger is soooooo good and melts in your mouth. The fries are soooooo good too. The salmon is good and the bok choy is crispy and the mini mushrooms are so good in it too. It was a little heavy on the sauce but that's the only complaint. Lastly the hamachi sashimi is my favorite thing that I get every time. Also they have the best options for celiac !! Most things are gluten free.

What a great restaurant! The vibes were fun and airy. The food was incredible and our waiter kept our waters topped off! The crispy Brussel sprouts were the best Brussel sprouts we've ever eaten! We definitely want to come back and try even more of the menu later!

Went back for a birthday dinner with my husband. Food took a long time in between plates. Their hand rolls are incredible! Their wagyu tare was also super yummy. But their yakisoba sauce was SOOOO SWEET it's like they've never tasted authentic yakisoba. Super big bummer. It was so bad I had to ask for some sriracha. Their gyoza wasn't cooked properly, as the tops were uncooked dough. Felt like it needed more variety inside. All I saw on the inside of the gyoza was meat. The menu said it had more in there- so they need to put a lot more cabbage etc in there (will help their margins too) Lastly, the service was fine, nothing special. I think there are a lot better options for sushi in the area. Probably won't go back.

Obssessed with this place - freshest and highest quality sushi you'll find! Under Wraps is my top favorite sushi restaurant in Utah, hands down. They offer the freshest fish and are extremely consistent! Lately, I've noticed a handful of my old fave sushi spots in Salt Lake drop significantly with the quality of their fish. Under Wraps has kept it 100 this whole time! They specialize in handrolls, sashimi plates, and nigiri but have lots of great non-sushi options too. If you're a fan of American rolls and lots of cream cheese you're not going to find that here. There is no need to mask the fish here with tons of toppings or sauces. Anything they do add truly enhances the flavor of the fish and doesn't overpower it! On the lunch menu there is a chirashi bowl that I've gotten at least 7 times. It's a little sampling of various sashimi (usually includes the hamachi, tuna, salmon, scallops, and spicy tuna). The rice here is just as on point as their fish! I LOVE this bowl! Besides the bowl, I also love their hamachi sashimi plate, all of the nigiri, and unagi handroll. Poke nachos are delicious too, as is the yakisoba noodles which is offered for dinner. The interior is very unique, fun, and inviting. They have a wall with anime artwork and actually even play anime on their middle screen for dinner. The sushi bar is very wide and open. Cocktails and mocktails are also available. Highly recommend Under Wraps! This is not only my fave sushi spot, but one of my top favorite restaurants in Utah County in general!

    Miso soup, Salmon, Curry Karaage

Yes yes yes yes YES. So freaking good. Anime playing on the wall while eating miso soup and sushi? SO cozy. The workers are so friendly and down to earth. Also... I would give my soul for the curry karaage.

This place was the bomb! The sushi was fresh, the staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was an anime lovers dream! They were even playing some anime on a projector screen. We were watching dragon ball Z while eating. We also ordered some of their gyoza which is hand made and it definitely tasted like it, it was so good! Probably my favorite appetizer on the menu other than the Brussel sprouts which had a really nice char and were crunchy! Their drinks were refreshing too! My drink had bits of fresh lychee in it and it was sweet and tangy! I highly recommend coming here!

    Fried Cauliflower

Fun, casual vibe. We loved the Studio Ghibli movies playing, and the Anime art on the wall. The cauliflower was my favorite bite of the night. My husband loved his Salmon Nigiri. The smash burger wasn't quite what I'd hoped, but the fries were amazing. The husband didn't really like his spicy tuna roll (not pictured). It was also a little pricey. Over all, good vibes, great service, some great bites. We'd try again for sure, but order a bit differently.

ROLL CALL I recently had the pleasure of dining at Under Wraps, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Nestled in Pleasant Grove, this sushi/izakaya gem exceeded all my expectations (don't sleep on the wagyu smash-burger). Overall a fantastic experience- service and ambiance very cozy and sophisticated. 10/10 would eat again!

Johanna is a great server, I promised her I would leave a review a year or so ago. I forgot and hadn't until now. It's a very pretty restaurant. If there was one complaint it's that the door gets opened, or left open and the cold blows in. Which is more of an Utah people thing, than it being the restaurants fault. I had odd service one time, this was four years ago or so. I haven't seen that server since then. So I guess it's sort of a moot point. For the sake of explaining it. I asked the guy first a to go box. He removed the food that wasn't finished and left the boxes. So I had nothing to pack. Once again, haven't seen him since. Whenever I'm in Lehi this is usually the restaurants fault I go to. I liked the ramen place across the street, but they stopped serving alcohol.

The restaurant is very clean and modern. We got the mixed tempura appetizer. We were very impressed with the portions. However, the vegetable pieces were huge. The carrots were nearly whole, not sliced. It was kind of hard to eat. We got a Vegas roll which was OK. I get the Vegas at most sushi places so I can have a baseline comparison. I also got the Marz roll, and it was SO good! My husband loved it too. We had some issues at checkout where she brought up another table's bill that was twice as much as ours. I checked the details, and she fixed it. Then technical issues prevented our payment using the device. So we had some delays. All in all, a decent experience. If we were in the area again and needed sushi, I think we'd come back. But as we're rarely in American Fork, we likely won't return anytime soon.

ON TOP OF already charging 18% automatically. The staff was rude and made us wait and wait. The salads had an inch of water at the bottom of the bowls and very little dressing. When the chef finally came out, he was terrible. We've been to hibachi restaurants a lot and have been to this location many times in the past. This time, when he did the initial fire trick, it was massive and almost burnt our faces. He burnt the eggs and over-seasoned the rice. He kept letting the vegetables mix with the raw chicken on the grill. Some of the rice fell into the grease trap; he just pulled it back out and mixed it in with the rest of the rice. We ordered filet mignon, and it was very dry and overcooked. At the end, when he was cleaning the grill, the soapy water went all over the table where our food was. We ordered extra fried rice, and he forgot it and gave the extra rice to one of the customers at our table. Then, to cap off the horrible experience, we had to wait 20 minutes for our checks. This place used to be pretty good, but it has gone WAY downhill.

Great ambience, friendly staff, a menu broad enough to satisfy any mood, and food that delivers on what it promises. This one has earned a regular spot in my rotation. If you arrive before 3:00 pm, do yourself a favor and order from the combo lunch menu. For a good price, you get miso soup, white rice, pork gyoza, and tempura vegetables, and then choose two items from a list that includes chicken, rolls, and sashimi. The gyoza and tempura alone are worth calling out, both done well. I went with the spicy tuna roll and steak teriyaki and did not regret either choice. Now for the rolls. The Tsunami Roll is the signature and it earns that title, order it without hesitation. The Spicy Masa and Fire Breathing Dragon round out my personal top three and I have yet to be disappointed by any of them. The two areas where they could level up: the wait for food is longer than the lunch setting calls for, so come with patience and plan accordingly. And for a restaurant with rolls this photogenic, a printed menu with photos would go a long way.

Not feeling like sushi and big fans of tonkasu and ramen, we decided to order those two items. The ramen and the tonkasu came out with decent presentation, but that's where it ends. My tonkasu instead of a decent piece of cutlet, it was a sliver of meat as thin as a piece of cardboard fried to the point of it turned to a piece of jerky. I did complain to the server and they replaced it with another small sliver of meat but better cooked. There were not much vegetables with the meal, some sautéed bell peppers and onions drowned in soy sauce, and a small scoop of rice that is hard. $15.90. The ramen was nothing special, not even sure if they actually made the broth themselves, but when you marinated Hard boiled eggs in soy sauce for however long with the well cooked yolk soaked in the soy sauce, they are just salty, and the piece of egg we got was exactly that, we also got three slices of uncooked fish cakes that came straight from the package, sliced, cold and in the bowl. $14.50. The ambiance is modern and clean, but I do wonder how a brand new restaurant's ventilation can be so bad that after the meal, we smelled like we were cooking in front of a fryer all day. Service was decent, there was only one server running the whole show. She was friendly but maybe overwhelmed, served us the appetizer without plates to eat on, asking if we needed forks and forgot to bring them when we said we would like to have forks. Maybe the great reviews are for the sushi? We are not going to go back to find out after today's experience though. One star for the decent service and one star for the veggie tempura which was the only thing we actually enjoyed. Why we finished our food? Because we were hungry and didn't think we'll get refund if we just leave the food untouched.
