Just had a really flavorful dinner at Underhill Brooklyn (our first time there). The grilled octopus was so tender that it practically melted in my mouth. The flavor was sublime. I then had the grilled chicken with Brussels sprouts, but prepared the way the side order is. It's also served with lemon potatoes & pickled red onions. What a delicious combo! This place is so, so good! I dropped in this evening with my partner for dinner and Nicole behind the bar was very personable and had great recommendations. The ambiance is so cute with nice lighting and great greek music. We ate at the bar, but there was a good amount of seating. It was surprisingly full for a Tuesday night! (good sign) The menu had an appropriate amount of options, including some vegetarian-friendly ones. Grape leaves were the bomb dot com. I loved the Chicken Bifteki, which was essentially a chicken burger patty served with salad, tzatziki, fries, and warm pita. The burger had really nice grill marks on it and almost tasted like it was cooked on a wood fire. My partner got the halloumi platter which was served with essentially the same things but had cheese in lieu of the chicken patty. Hers was also delicious. To end it all, we had baklava. It was perfectly sweetened, great layering, and just the right amount of rosewater so it didn't overwhelm or overpower. Despite all the options this area of Brooklyn has to offer, we will definitely come back and eat here again. read more

First time ordering from this restaurant today and was so excited because most of the reviews were great. We just came back from Greece about 3 weeks ago and had the absolute best gyro there so were looking for a place that can come close to what we had. I must say I'm disappointed because my order came and the fries that ordered was missing. The delivery guide just said call the restaurant which I did and was told I will be refunded for the fries. The order was somehow misread (mistake #1) not double and triple checking the order (mistake #2)I like my Gyro/Pita with a side of fries (ugghhh). The sandwich was neither good nor bad. Silly me for trying to have a touch of Greece in Brooklyn. Maybe I'll give it another shot by going into the restaurant in person to before I cancel this place. read more

We ordered the lamb burgers because they were highly recommended and.... wow, now we know why! They were really juicy! The sides were fries and salad, and both were great too! They gave us a free dessert, and even wrote a note thanking us for ordering and wishing us to stay safe (due to COVID)! The driver was also really polite, all in all a great experience! Amazing food ! It's Greek with an American twist ! We got the fried calamari , Greek salad, lamb keftedes to start. For our mains we got lamb burger (yummy fried cheese) , moussaka combo and falafel platter! They've converted to take out but they have a handful of tables where you can sit and enjoy your take out ! My boyfriend and I came in recently and had such a wonderful experience! The food was delicious. We started out with the sesame & honey saganaki, a cheese-based appetizer, which had an exciting array of contrasting flavors. Kefalograviera cheese is naturally a bit on the salty side for those who are sensitive to it, but it is so so good. I had the macaronia tou fournou for my entree, which was one of the tastiest, most satisfying dinners I have had in quite a while. It was a nice balance of pasta, creaminess, savory beef ragu, and a perfectly baked cheese on top. My boyfriend had the chicken souvlaki, which he thought was also great and well-prepared. The service was excellent as well. The staff were quick, kind, and attentive. We felt welcomed and very much taken care of. To top it all off, the atmosphere is cozy, yet stylish. I don't frequent Crown Heights often, but when I do, I've hit Underhill the last two occasions for tremendously good Greek (and Med) food. Everything I've tried, including the octopus, the dips, brussel sprouts (and I'm usually not the biggest fan), falafel pita (at lunch), and the halloumi were all very good, fresh tasting, and with prompt and attentive service at the bar. Definitely give this place a whirl if you're in the area. read more

It's nice to have some Mediterranean/Greek quality food in Propsect heights! The restaurant is owned by 3 sisters and their hospitality really comes through. Really enjoyed our meal at Underhill Brooklyn! We had the kale salad with salmon and Greek pizza! Both were delicious. This place is excellent. Came here with a group of 7. It's a small place, just like a half dozen tables with a bar, but we fit no problem. Everything we had was great.
