When I called back, I was informed that the appointment had been canceled, and they claimed to have left me a voicemail. I checked my voicemail, and there was none. Clearly, the representative on the phone was lying. They have no concern about the customer's time and gives a shit about it. It is very unprofessional to cancel an appointment without informing the customer and then lie about it. They came to my house, gave me an estimate, and after my parts were ordered, we scheduled them to change our AC unit. The people who came were very professional and knowledgeable. They finished installing my AC in less than 6 hours and also found that my humidifier needed to be changed and did that too, even though that wasn't part of the job (obviously there was an extra charge but definitely worth it). I feel like they are priced appropriately and they don't BS you which is great. If you need something to be fixed, they'll do it, and if not, they'll tell you it doesn't need to be changed. Germantown Heating and AC kept our old unit alive for the past 10 years without major costs. Eventually, though, they recommended we get a new unit "on our terms;" meaning, when the weather, schedules, and funding allowed for it rather than as an emergency replacement when it finally died. So, Danny gave us a great estimate and several months later they came and installed our new heat pump system completely. Edwin, Mike, and Johnny did the work and were very courteous and professional; they laid down runners in the house and wore masks when we interacted. The price was reasonable, but we definitely got what we paid for! The units are running so quietly, it's hard to know if they're actually running! Jeff just left my home and did an amazing and honest job. Another local company came out yesterday and quoted us $1375 to "fix" our unit. They found all kinds of problems when they came on a $49 promotion of system checks. I was skeptical so I called Germantown who we've used in the past and trust. Jeff fixed the unit for $101! Jeff clearly explained what the problem was and said that the other parts were running just fine and did not need to be replaced. Jeff could easily have told me that the other company was right and gotten money out of us. Instead, he was honest and has earned our loyalty. It's 16 degrees out and our furnace is not working. It's Sunday afternoon about 3:15 of President's Day weekend. I called Germantown since we have a service contract with them. Spent over $300 for to have them tell me I needed a new compressor, but they had so much new installation work lined up, they did not want to make needed repairs on my system. They simply wanted to sell me a new system, take it or leave it. They advised me to go out and buy some window units, They would put in a new A/C system, ball park estimate, for $10,000 next fall. Forget about these guys. At one time these were good people to work with, and we did business with them for many years. We had used this company last June to replace our old AC unit, and were happy with them. Therefore, this morning when we woke up to find our furnace lost it's mojo, we called Germantown Heating and Air Conditioning around 9:45am. We were SO happy when Mike showed up an hour-ish after my call! He was friendly and professional, and quickly found that our ignitor had cracked. He replaced it (had the part in his truck, hallelujah!) and we watched as the new ignitor did it's thing and brought back the heat to our house. Only $223 for the visit, labor and part!
