The place is so nice. Service was good. Just for a few things to share but all of it was 10/10. Food is like French and Asian. It's really pricey.

Food quality and taste is amazing, drinks are good, service and staff and friendly and very attentive. Ambiance is what you'd expect of a nice upscale sushi restaurant. You can tell they take what they do very seriously and operate in a very professional manner. I did the tasting menu and the only downside is the meal will set you back quite a bit, but you knew that. I would come back when the bank permits it.

Don't bother driving here, it's the Back Bay. Inside is exactly the dark and trendy. The service was friendly but honestly a bit loose for the price point. Our server greeted us fast but he lacked that confident polish you usually see at high end spots. We were not initially sure if he was our waiter or just dropping off water. The staff dress code is also super casual and that made it hard to distinguish employees from customers. The sushi itself is fantastic though we had one weird miss with the kitchen apps. Skip the Omakase. The pricing is outrageous for Boston. Just order a la carte. What we ordered: * Massaman Brussels Sprouts (5/10): A total disappointment. They had peanuts, fried shallot, and basil but zero seasoning. They must have forgotten to salt the dish entirely. Once I added my own salt it was good but I should not have to do that here. * Spicy Negihama (9/10): Delicious roll. Highly recommend. * Foie Gras Nigiri (9/10): The chocolate pairing with the buttery foie gras is wild. I usually find foie gras overwhelming but this portion was perfect. * Akami Nigiri (9/10): A perfect bite with the tuna and mushroom. * Hamachi Nigiri (10/10): Just flawless. * Madai Nigiri (9/10): Fresh and clean. * Beef Ribs (9/10): Tender and rich. * Chow Fun Noodles (10/10): Surprisingly one of the best things on the table. The Bathroom Situation: You have to leave the restaurant and walk into the connected hotel lobby to find the facilities. I had to ask the front desk for directions because it is down in the basement. It is a shared bathroom but it has one stall with a full length door for privacy and was very clean.

I went to UNI with two of my roommates as it is part of the chase sapphire reserve exclusive tables and I never been before. The interior is dark but well lit with candles, and not too noisy which was nice during conversation. The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating, giving excellent recommendations and letting us know how many pieces are in each dish since there were three of us. For food, the best thing was the duck confit gyoza and the crab fried rice. I personally love duck and gyoza so combining was amazing, and i never had dill in fried rice before but it paired so well together. The brussels and pork ribs were also really good, the brussels came with peanuts and the pork was fall off the bone. The chow fun was alright, it did have a nice crispy crunch on some parts but it was overly salted. The dumplings and both the sushi rolls were super mid. It wasn't bad at all but it wasn't good. Personally, I do not think any of these foods are worth the price point (which is why the three stars). The bill before tip was $200. Although the ambience and the waitstaff were super friendly, I don't think I would come here again because of the price point.

Indeed nice presentation for every dish, fresh ingredients, quality sushi but the dishes are all very small, no larger than 2 onces even for the cooked ones, and it's $23 for a small bowl of noodles. Way overpriced.

Very good sushi. Everything was very fresh and creatively put together. The ribs were awesome. The dumplings were delicious.

I came on a Sunday night. I ordered the tasting menu and some other items, like Brussels sprouts, crab rice, grilled octopus etc. My bill was 400+ for 3 people. The food is very "fused" together. I cannot taste how fresh the food was. It was either too salty, too sour, or too sweet. Their sauces are very strong even though they only put a little bit on it. I am sorry but at this price, I would go somewhere else. For example, the Thai Brussels sprouts has so much sauce on it (I think it's curry) that I cannot taste the vegetable itself. The foie gras (raspberry sauce??) was so sour that it just took out the foie gras taste... Some good memorable dishes is the squid ink lo mein, and the prime New York strip. Also, the towels to clean your hands before you eat was cool.... Otherwise, not somewhere I would recommend to others.

UNI was one of the best food experiences I've had in Boston! We shared a bunch of different dishes, which is definitely the way to go if you're having dinner here. Everything we got was so fresh and unique tasting. I loved that their drinks had such fun names and they even had mocktails on the menu. The place has a really cool vibe and a great bar area if you're stopping by. All our dishes came out super fast so we weren't ever waiting too long. Our bartender was also so friendly and fun! Can't wait to be back here!

Wow! We had an amazing time eating at Uni! This place definitely deserves a visit (or multiple) because their food is some of the best I've tried in the area. First, it seems that you will definitely need a reservation as the restaurant quickly filled up as soon as they opened around 5:30PM. The restaurant itself felt moody but open to chatter, with somewhat loud music playing and everyone talking. Our server and all the staff we encountered were so friendly and accommodating, checking on us just the right amount of times to ensure our experience was going well. The staff also all knew each dish and explained to us their ingredients in detail. Overall, our experience was amazing and we felt very well taken care of by the attentive staff. Their food was on another level, and I easily found something to love in every dish we tried! Even their seemingly simplest dishes had a burst of flavor like the Caesar salad, eggplant, and crab fried rice. I especially loved the eggplant, it was cooked to the perfect soft texture and paired well with the okra. The squab and miso cod also stood out to us, both soaked in delicious and unique sauces. We tried a plethora of sashimi and nigiri, all of which tasted fresh and delicate, prepared with a careful hand. Shout out to sushi chef Tsuyoshi for elevating our sushi experience! All the ingredients seemed so well chosen, and simply their arrangement was something we admired. For dessert, we tried the flan and it unexpectedly was one of the best desserts I've ever tried! It's sweetness from the fruity yuzu and caramel meshed so well together, I really could've eaten so much more. Lastly, we tried a couple cocktails, all of which were tasty, but especially the one with a lychee meringue topping! To wrap up, I highly recommend those in the area near prudential to pay a visit to this restaurant if you are looking for an upscale dining experience with great food. I am looking forward to returning!

Excellent. Sat at the bar, quiet setting. Service was great at the bar. Ordered wagyu by the ounce. 2-4 oz per person was just right. 10 seconds per side on the stone, done. The spices provided were salt , garlic and sumak. A hint of sumak made each piece perfect.

    World's spiciest spicy tuna roll.

Second time dining at Uni. Reminder that Uni serves tapas style plates and sushi. You are encouraged to order 3 to 5 items per person. Honestly I went back for the fried chicken Bao Buns. They are so good! I could eat 10 of them! Other items that would make me want to return are the Kurobuta Spare Ribs and the Wagyu Beef Dumplings. Items that were not as successful for my palette were the Chow Fun Noodles (too salty), the California Roll (do I taste coconut?), the Squash Miso Black Cod (perfectly cooked fish, but the flavors didn't mesh well), The big FAIL was a cocktail. The Ankle Breaker was disgusting. It's herbal, salty with a puddle of Thai basil oil floating in it. I expected Thai basil infused gin, not oil. Oh it was just awful! Our waitperson (who was Wonderful - shout out to Sean!) swapped it out for the "C", which was delicious! The dining room filled up quickly and it was quite loud. Diners included families with young children (although I would not recommend Uni for children), Millennial, Gen X and Boomer couples, Gen Z girls night out, hipsters, intellectuals, students...well Everybody! There's something for everyone at Uni. Just expect a large bill. Uni is rather expensive.

Staff was very knowledgeable about each entree, and provided information about how entrees were cooked and served. They also had a "halvsies" menu of half-size portions (ideal portions for one or two diners). Started with the Mama Chang Pork Dumplings, which were excellent, and the cauliflower appetizer (a little spicy, but very good). Liked the udon noodles with chicken and bok choy, although a little less red chili pepper would have suited my tastes better (good for those who like a bit of zing to their food). The lettuce wrap chicken was well worth the 20-minute wait. Finished with the lemon ginger mousse, which was very light. The fortune cookie on the mousse was fresh and crisp, so good that some thought it might have been baked at Joanne Chang's Flour Cafe and Bakery. The finish was extra nice, with a red lucky envelope with chocolates accompanying the check, an orange at each table (signs for good fortune in the New Year), and red decorations hanging in the restaurant to create a festive setting. Good choice for the start of the New Lunar Year of the Fire Horse!

The interior is very cool, cozy, and the cool red paint design on the glass windows makes it all feel very charming and comfortable. We did have a bit of a wait for our table despite having reservations. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share between the 4 of us - scallion pancake, bourbon chicken wings, spicy salmon rolls, pork belly buns, sliced beef, eggplant, hot n sour soup, golden potato and lemongrass soup. I think my favorite of those was the eggplant dish - perfectly cooked and flavorful with ginger and soy. Wings were good too. The soups were nice I liked the hot n sour one. The lemongrass soup was a creamy one quite tasty but also quite filling and rich. For entrees, we ordered the roasted soy glazed salmon, the Indonesian fried rice, bok choy and surf and turf noodles. Everything was good. We were all so full and also had leftovers. But decided to order dessert too - everyone loved the vanilla bean ice cream (the menu described it as a parfait) with orange granita - really generous too - 3 scoops of ice cream and the orange sorbet which was more granular than a sorbet more like very finely crushed ice. Very refreshing! The banana caramel crème brûlée was really good too - nice and creamy. The lemon ginger mousse was very creamy but I thought had a bit too much of ginger. I think the deserts were hands down everyone's favorite part of the meal despite everyone pretty much denying they wanted any! Service was very friendly by our server Julie who was delightful! Lovely young lady. Overall great experience!!

When we walked into Legal, the place was dead, the music was awful, and the vibe was just not there. So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. Shojo is somewhere I'd absolutely return to when staying in the area, I'm really happy we all turned what would have been a very touristy, depressing experience into something with a WAY better vibe and time!

Cloud Asian Fusion is in the corner of the plaza that houses China Pearl and Kam Man, to the right of Kam Man. It is a long narrow type space. Rather industrial, and concrete. I arrived first and scored the last table in the room with the bar, only to later discover that there were a few tables in the room in the back to the right. My DCs were running late, so I gave our waiter a head's up. He never made me feel bad for taking up the space. And it helped that there was never a queue waiting to be seated that Sunday night. We each ordered our own meal while sharing bites. While there are a few entrees at Cloud Asian Fusion that include both protein and vegetable, such as the Braised White Fish $22 (assorted mushrooms, fried tofu) one DC ordered, mine (Siam Crab Curry $22 - lump crab, spicy red curry, basil, bean sprouts, Thai Chili, thin rice noodles) and my other DC's (Mapo Katsu $16 (chicken katsu, mapo sauce, short grain white rice, furikake) came without (I don't count the small stash of raw bean sprouts on my plate), so I added the blistered green beans $16. Our server was pleasant and told me that they could make anything less mild. Even so, the slow burn from the milder Siam Crab Curry was a bit more than I would have liked. He checked up on me and offered to have the chef prepare a fresh batch with a milder curry powder instead, so I could better enjoy my meal. The original orange yellow of my crab curry bowl was turned a green yellow in its replacement. But it was still tasty, and still generous with lump crab meat. This was a good pick! The green bean vegetable dish was quite good too. I was happy with my meal. I sampled the other two dishes and found the regular mapo sauce recipe too spicy for my taste. The fish dish was tasty, but we found nothing especially fusion about it. 3 stars all around experience, but 4 stars for my own meal.

It took some time for the waiter to come by and we were ready to order as soon as he came by. Got drinks and some food. Surprisingly the food came out before the drinks. Everything was great however. The inside was lively, great place to catch up.

This place is popping! Even though it was later in the evening, the restaurant was still really full. However we didn't have to wait too long to get seated. I loved the decor in here, such neat details and even a column with a dragon on it! So cool. It's a dark restaurant so it was hard to read the menu, but otherwise, it's a very cool vibe here and feels very lounge-y. Our server was awesome, he was friendly and explained the restaurant style to us - it's like tapas, you order a few items to share and recommended 2 - 3 items per person would be sufficient. It was only 2 of us and we shared 3 items total, and that was more than enough. We apparently arrived so late that our server informed us that we only had a short time before the kitchen was closing for the night. But he said that he would return before the kitchen closed in case we wanted to order additional menu items. We were intrigued by the Japanese/Peruvian fusion menu and tried a few things: Kuromitsu Brussel Sprouts Spicy Salmon Fritas Bo Bo Chicken I was most excited about the Bo Bo Chicken a it had a sichuan chili oil and I love spicy, but it was not spicy at all (to me). But the flavor was really good. My favorite was the Brussels sprouts. I loved the char on them and the ginger black honey on it was so good. I don't eat salmon, but my friend said the Salmon Fritas was great and really enjoyed them. I would say this was the best meal we had on our trip!

There was a great singer, pianist, and sax player to really set the mood. They were super fun, especially when a couple got engaged! To start, I got their ginger martini and while my friend went with a Do-er neat (not a whiskey drinker myself, lol). He tried to order 2 of their beers but they were out of both. My drink came after 15 mins and then we had to remind the waiter about his whiskey. That took another 10. We started with the chicken bao buns and the samosas. Both spectacular! My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor. I think we had 4 different staff members help us total which probably led to lots of miscommunication.
