Now that my husband's team is back in the Premier League, we'll probably frequent this place more! We use to come here early to watch games so I've enjoyed the breakfast/brunch items many times. Our last visit, it was a bit muggy in here but once we opened the windows/garage door, it was nicer. I love the atmosphere here as futbol fans come in all their garb and everyone is so into the games. We got a sausage and banana pepper pizza and it didn't take as long as we though. The crust (thin crust) was crispy and the toppings were deliciously melted together. I know they have a pretty wide list of craft beers but I personally don't drink beer that often. If I have time, I would definitely come back and try the pan/deep dish pizza (a note on the menu says 40 min wait time). read more

We came here as a part of a bar crawl and there weren't any specific specials with the crawl. The gold tequila margarita was not gold. It tastes like a sweetened margarita mix. I rarely give a 5 star rating but this place hasn't disappointed me yet. The drinks are always strong! It's so fun to come here and watch the soccer games with the crowd. The atmosphere is awesome and there are always great beer selections. My favorite thing to order is the mozzarella sticks. I really do think these are the best in town. Love watching a game here! The atmosphere is perfect for summer and winter time sports. It's just quiet enough that you can hangout for a while but you still have plenty of beer and things to munch on. I've also heard that their trivia nights were super fun when they held them weekly before the pandemic broke out. The stuffed pizza is so delicious. My mouth waters when I think about it. But the menu is huge and even offers some vegetarian and vegan options for people - not something you see often in a pub! One thing to note: things add up here and quickly. My boyfriend and I had two beers a piece (nothing fancy, just Black and Tans), an appetizer, and a stuffed pizza and the bill was $70. Hurts your wallet if you're not careful! read more

Tonight was unexpected. We parked right in front at a metered spot. I was unable to get the pay box to work correctly. It would only charge me for 10 minutes and would not let me extend the time. So we went into the restaurant and asked the guy at the bar if he knew anything about the meters. He didn't. But what he did was above and beyond. He made a spot available in the free parking out back, and HELD IT for my husband to drive around the block and park. Who does this??? BTW, this young man's name is Andrew. KUDOS!!! I'm a frequent visitor of Union Jack's. It has a great location on the broad ripple strip and even has a small parking lot in the back! The pro to this bar, is that unless there's a soccer game on, it's really never too crowded. The food is standard pub food, with the exception of their pizza, which is delicious! Highly recommend the four meat deep dish. They have a rotating selection of craft beers, which in my opinion lacks a good selection of IPA's. My boyfriend has joined their beer club, which essentially is a way to keep track of what you've drank by location (world, Midwest, Indiana). Once you complete a section, you get a gift. If you complete the entire card you can win a trip to a beer festival. They have a limited domestic selection, but they have liquor and wine. It would definitely please a crowd. read more

The environment is extremely laid back, the servers are friendly, and the manager was very nice. They also make an 8" breakfast pizza for two and a very tasty spinach and artichoke dip. Honestly, it's about the drinks for me. A little hair of the dog is sometimes very necessary, and Jennifer serves them up just right! Not down with the bloody marys? Try a tequila sunrise, mimosa or a black and tan. Any of the above will have you springing back in a jiff... or taking an afternoon nap, which, on a Sunday afternoon isn't such a bad idea anyway. Throughout the Covid craziness, Union Jack's has made a real effort to update their practices to keep people safe. Early on, their employees were wearing masks and gloves. They were limiting capacity once they were allowed to have ppl inside again. They had some of the best spacing between tables when BR Ave was shutdown to allow for outdoor seating. And now during winter, they have tables that have their own private tent around them, so you can stay distanced from others and have some protection from the weather. Before I even moved to the neighborhood last summer, I was super excited to see a British pub in Broad Ripple. The exterior screams London and all things soccer, so I was curious to pop my head in to have a pint once I arrived in town. Fast forward to moving and all that jazz. I've wandering in a few times since then and have been more impressed with each visit! Fantastic craft beer list while also providing the staples of Guinness and Smithwick's. While I haven't yet ventured into the whiskeys, they too look formidable! Another important aspect to consider, and arguably more important than the beer, is the fish and chips. Can confirm: Union Jack is frying some of the best fish I've had in ages. The breading is crisp and flavorful. You can also get half orders, which is much appreciated! I would be remiss not to mention the pizza. While not the first thing I would grab here, it's pretty dang tasty as well! If there's one thing I can count on in this world, it's a good British pub. Walked in UJs new location for the first time in years. We used to go to their old location all the time, that location was cozy and they were always kid friendly or at least acted kind towards kids. Today we walked in and the new location is dark and dank and smells like stale booze. We asked to see a menu to see if our kids would eat it and they hand us a menu with no prices. So we are standing there looking at the menu on our phone with the stupid QR code and the nasty hostess comes back with the nastiest snarky "you can have a seat if you're staying" and so... we left. Why would we choose to be paying customers when greeted with such overt hostility by an absolute snatch. If you hate kids then don't allow them to dine with you, problem solved. Had to test out the new outdoor protected seats. Perfect! Little clear tents that can seat four people. A little tight, but a wonderful alternative to being inside. We went at lunch and with the sun it was like a little greenhouse. The enclosure has zippers to keep the heat in, and little portable warmers are used if requested. It was not needed with the sun! We actually left the zipper enclosure opened for air. Was a little windy and requiring it to be tied down onto the outside frame. Had people driving by ask if we liked it, if we were getting air or if we were warm enough. Yes to all questions! Thanks Union Jack's to addressing concerns regarding indoor dining. Since We order take out pizza from union jacks quite regularly,I finally decided to write a review. Our pizza of choice is their stuffed pizza. The stuffed pizza is one of a kind in that It's made with a crust on top and bottom. The crust is both buttery and flaky. In keeping with the British pub theme, The toppings were called crowns. The meat crowns we ordered were: sausage, pepperoni and Canadian bacon. This holy trinity is the perfect combination that satisfies any carnivores desire. They give you a choice of sauce and we usually order the signature Napa sauce. The Napa sauce was slightly sweet and savory unlike the tartness of its traditional counterpart. The Mozzarella cheese stuck out of the pizza like an obese man in a cheap suit. This is our favorite choice of pizza. read more

I had a lunch date planned with a friend so we opted for Union Jack since it was close to my work. It was definitely a quiet day, totally different from when I come in to catch a MU game with other friends. Union Jack has some solid food choices, in this day I went with their club and a side of fries. The food to a surprisingly long time to get out, but it was really good. The sandwich was bigger than expected, and the fries were that perfect crispy and warm and soft texture. Any trip to Union Jack is a good one, I can always count on a soccer match being on a tv and plenty of beer choices. Great spot and great atmosphere! read more

Union jacks is one of my go to spots in Broadripple. There is some strange sort of charm about the place that gives it a cool vibe. They have an excellent beer list full of local and regional craft beers. The staff is always super friendly and very quick with their service. But obviously we all read reviews for the food. If you come here and your looking to spend a good amount of time here, then order the deep dish pizza. So far it is the best in the city. After a bit of a wait you'll receive a hot, thick, pie covered in a ton of gooey cheese. It is so delicious it will make you forget that the polar bears are dying in the artic. While you wait for the incredible pizza. You might as well have a snack. You're going to order the spinach and artichoke queso. It is incredible and just the perfect size to eat while you wait. It could have used some basil or seasoning because it was a little bland. Temperature and texture were great. It did take the whole 40 minutes even though they weren't busy, but they put that on the menu so it wasn't a surprise! Just tried this place for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised by all the vegan options. I had the vegan breakfast sandwich, my dad had the bbq jackfruit sandwich with a side of quinoa chili and my mom had the nutella waffles (not vegan). We also shared an order of buffalo seitan wings. Everything was delish and they packed it up nicely. The buns on the sandwiches were super tasty. I will definitely be getting food from here again--my friend's always raving about the vegan philly cheesesteak so I hope I can try that next time. I hadn't been here in years, but had heard about their new vegetarian/vegan menu and decided to check it out for myself. We both ended up having the BBQ pulled jackfruit sandwich. I'd never had jackfruit before, and I was a little skeptical that it would taste anything like the pulled pork sandwiches I loved back in my omnivore days. I was shocked, but it really did! The texture was very meat-like, and the sauce was perfection. The only thing that's keeping this from being a 5-star review was the bun the sandwich was on. It was a little dry and had a bit of a stale flavor to it--I'm not sure if it actually was stale, or if it was just a little bland. I will absolutely go back and try it again, though. Some of their other veggie-friendly options: veggie basket with hummus, seitan wings, quinoa chili, buffalo seitan flatbread, portabella burger, pizzas with vegan cheese ... and they even have a vegan cheesecake! While trying to find a place to eat we decided to stop in Union Jacks. It was a beautiful day and the front window was open and they were not crowded at all. The food was delicious (although) I really would have liked to try the pizza. I was starving and didn't want to wait the 40 mins. That will be my go to the next time I stop in. I ordered the reuben sandwich and my friend ordered the fish. We also opted for dessert. The carmel salted cake will not disappoint you. Delicious . I would have probably given them a 5 but the service was very slow. I believe the only other table that was in the building was a bridal shower which included about 15-20 guest. After hearing from the owner, the girlfriend and I went back here for a Saturday night dinner on a beautiful evening. I had the Country Boy beer- a coconut hefeweizen and we started with the veggie plate. The homemade hummus was delicious with just a bit of bite to it. The flatbread was to die for, and I honestly wish they offered just the flatbread and hummus without the veggies! We got a thin crust BYO pizza, which was the main reason for returning. This crust was delicious and crispy, and no mouthfuls of flour! I've been a long time lover of this place. The vegetarian and vegan options are second to none, and the service is great (maybe it's because we're in here at least twice a month, but we don't have the same service issue that others are stating). I've had just about every vegan/vegetarian thing on the menu, and they all are quite delicious. The meat-eaters of our group are quite set on the tenderloin and the club -- stating that the tenderloin is one of the best around! Only thing that is mildly irritating is that there aren't lunch specials, so you end up spending $20 for a meal if you get a sandwich, fries (it adds $2) and a soda. If you make a meal out of an appetizer (pro tip: try the seitan wings) you'll spend about half, but chances are you won't leave full unless you're sharing another one with someone else. Also -- if you're reading reviews that say that the BR Brew Pub has better food, they are wildly mistaken. My coworkers and I come here at least twice a month for lunch and it's MUCH better than BR Brew Pub. Do yourself a favor, and try Union Jacks in BR for yourself. This past Saturday (St. Patrick's Day) we went and stopped by Union Jack's for brunch. We went around 11am and there was no wait. We started off our meals with a couple morning Bloody Mary's. I have worked at this restaurant and eaten its food many times. I think that the atmosphere for soccer games is unmatched. It is a huge event at the pub and tons of people come dressed in the jersey of their team and cheer them on. The food is amazing too. They are most well known for their deep dish pizza. When I worked here, people would consistently rave about the pizza and so I suggest trying that dish if its your first time there. Workers and management is also very friendly and personable. Jared, the bartender, will get to know you by name and ask how you've been. All of the chefs take a lot of pride in their work and are also very friendly.
