Thin crust pizza with pepperoni sausage veggies and ricotta
    Mona A.

My boyfriend had just landed at LAX Friday night, and since Union Pizza Company was so close, we ended up here and I'm really glad we did. It's right by Bristol Farms so there's lots of parking available in the lot. We got a personal deep dish Flame Veggie with chicken added and a thin crust with roasted garlic, sautéed onions, pepperoni, hot Italian sausage, meatballs, ricotta, and fresh basil. We asked for both extra crispy and wow, yes. That was absolutely the move. The deep dish was warm and cheesy and comforting, and the thin crust had that crispy little bite that makes you immediately go back for another slice. The medium spicy sauce was perfect too. Rachel was such a sweetheart, and the whole staff was genuinely warm and welcoming. We had a little time while the pizzas were cooking, so we wandered next door for beers, cookies, and flowers. A cute little date night!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio is really cute at night too. String lights overhead, vines, lots of open air.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We left full and smiley and already talking about what we'd order next time

First time trying and would definitely order again ! Pizza was tasty initially and then even hours later after reheating it - Bravo ! Ingredients tasted fresh and my order was correct - outstanding !

I came back to this pizza place after an amazing first visit experience and customer service. Their new hire, Willie, was so kind and attentive and helped me when they were closed during their equipment maintenance because I couldn't return a few hours later to order and eat my pizza. So he made me one right then with a smile on his face! The pizza he made was delicious the first time that this time when I returned, I ordered the same one (thin crust- the village) in a large size for myself (although Willie was not there). Still good customer service from staff and same fresh off the oven pizza with quality thick cut meats! New loyal customer that started from my delicious 1st pizza visit and Willie's customer service!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a cozy feel with plenty of seating both inside and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I really enjoyed the thin crust cheese pizza. It was flavorful and well done. The deep dish was also delicious and definitely worth trying. I'd encourage anyone craving good pizza to swing by. I'm planning to try the pasta next time because it looked great.

Wanted to try this place because they offered Chicago Deep dish pizza. Ordered the Bianco (white sauce, garlic and spinach) and union salad (organic spring mix, goat cheese, sunflower seeds, sun dried tomatoes with a house made balsamic Dijon vinaigrette). Salad was delicious and dressing was very good. I've had deep dish pizza in Chicago. This pizza had a thick crust on the edges but didn't on the bottom. The toppings and sauce were delicious but was disappointed with the crust.

One of my regular lunchtime rotations! They have a great lunch special starting around $10 that includes fountain drink. Options include 2 thin slices, a slice and salad, or a thin slice and deep dish of the day. The pizzas are tasty and fresh. Both the kitchen team and front of house are friendly and work quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The spot is on the small side, but the shared patio makes it easier to dine onsite with the family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's a few additional daily pricing specials, and if you're on the email list, there's other promotions frequently mailed out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ONLY issue I have - for which I'm not even knocking down any stars - is that the shop has no A/C. On hot days (and we've had a few that are definitely out of the LA norm) it is too hot and stuffy to sit inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I feel bad for the team having to work with ovens when it is already that warm. Assuming this is an issue with the building itself, though I've been at Rice, two doors down, and have not had the same experience. In fairness, I don't believe Rice has ovens, as it is a Japanese restaurant. Whether the building or the business owner, someone has got to get Union Pizza a functional A/C unit! Other than that, you can't go wrong with any of their pizzas, which are so good, that I have not gotten around to trying the pasta!

My wife found Chicago pizza on the internet and ordered the Union Pie Pizza which comes with sausage, pepperoni, onion, and black olives. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We gobbled down most of the pizza. There was a bit of sweetness to the crust. This was very close to a Chicago deep dish pizza, but not as good as the ones in Chucago

i am so disappointed. was craving a deep dish pie. ordered deep dish, pep, pinapple and green peppers. all i tasted was dough and tomatoes. i LITTERALLY had to search for the pepperoni. maybe the deep dish isnt their thing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]its a small location with outdoor seating and they were very nice, but yea, ugh.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and it wasnt cheap. also got garlic knots...a little tough but ok.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a very casual and small pizza restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has pasta and salad offerings as well, but we were excited to try the Chicago style deep dish pizza for the first time. The person who took our order made sure to tell us that it takes about 45 minutes for the pizza to be ready, which we appreciated to know ahead of time. We were able to walk around the Bristol Farms next door while we waited. The pizza came out hot and delicious! We loved how stringy the cheese was and the toppings tasted very fresh. The bread was crispy in all of the right places. I'm excited to go back and try the other pizza options.

We've visited Union Pizza Company in the past, once before, and it was pretty good, but this last time was definitely not the best by any means. We ordered the chicken wings and the deep dish pizza early without any cheese, knowing it would take a while to come, and unfortunately, the pizza still came with cheese. This caused us to have to wait the same time twice because at that point, we were hungry, and the chicken wings weren't super good either. The 2nd pizza with the right toppings was pretty mediocre and seemed rushed. I hoped this was better due to deep-dish pizza restaurants being limited in LA, but it was a letdown.

Crispy delicious slices! So glad Yelp put this spot on my radar through a community event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's located right next to Bristol Farms and pretty low-key as in very easy to miss![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely one of the best slices in the Southbay. Fans of establishments like D'amores will really like this and place ! Haven't had the chance to try the deep dish yet, but I think this place shines with their thin slices! Check them out!

I forgot to grab a picture before eating a slice lol. It was okay overall. I got it to go, and I can see this being better if you ate in. The dough was a bit too hard and dense for me, and the toppings were pretty minimal. It didn't really blow me away, but I can imagine the experience improving if you sat down and ate it fresh, it'd be hella good. Service: N/A cause takeout Food/Drinks: Dense dough, minimal toppings, potentially better if you dine-in [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: N/A cause takeout[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 6/10 Probably better fresh and eaten inside than as takeout

We started with cocktails. I had the Mary Sue ("Pornstar Martini") with vodka, vanilla, passionfruit, salted lime, fino sherry, and champagne foam. YUM. Dangerously good. My husband had the Rob Gentile, an elevated Old Fashioned, and was thoroughly impressed. Service was great, and the food was top-notch. Let's dive in! Meatballs with beef, pork, ricotta, potato purée, tomato sauce, Grana Padano, and arugula--WOW. Cheesy, saucy perfection. Beef Tartare with tonnato, shallot, marjoram, crispy potato, and toast. Delicious and a generous portion. I ordered Coop's Pork Shank with Lambrusco-mustard glaze, aromatic jus, and potato purée. Tender, flavorful, and that broth was incredible. It paired perfectly with the broccolini... ...which we didn't order. We spotted the table next to us enjoying it with burrata and immediately added it to our "next time" list. My son ordered the Chicken Parm with capellini. He loved the huge chicken parm portion, which successfully fed his bottomless teenage appetite, but declared the pasta "too eggy." Teenagers are basically unpaid Michelin critics. My husband ordered the Scarpinocc with braised beef cheek, brown butter, sage, and saba. He loved it, but our resident food critic chimed in with, "I don't really taste the beef." Dessert was the cinnamon bread pudding with ice cream and caramel drizzle--absolutely worth saving room for. Everything was delicious, portions were generous, and we left happy (and full enough to feed a small submarine crew). Definitely coming back!

Walk in and you can't quite tell which restaurant you're in -- one side goes modern and colorful,…read morethe other leans warm and classic, like two different owners split the lease and never agreed on a mood board. Somehow it works. It's the kind of unconventional layout that shouldn't hold together in a city as design-precious as LA, but does. And the room is doing something rarer than good lighting: it's actually mixed. Old couples, loud groups of twenty-somethings, families -- nobody looks like they wandered in from the same zip code, and everybody looks like they're having a good time. The staff match the energy, warm without being polished into blandness. Service isn't the story here, but it's not a complaint either -- just solid, present, out of the way. The food tells a more complicated story: a kitchen with real technique that keeps stopping just short of finishing the thought. The octopus starter is the clearest example. The char never showed up -- the tenderness is there, the cook is right, but a good octopus dish lives and dies by that crust, and this one arrived soft all the way through, more braised than grilled. It sat on potatoes that were seasoned well and under-dressed everywhere else -- just leaves, nothing pulling it together. A scatter of herbs, or better, some roasted peppers playing off the reddish char-that-wasn't on the octopus, and this becomes a dish instead of components sharing a plate. At this price, it needs to look like someone meant it. The squid ink pasta has the same issue in liquid form -- a sauce that reads more Southeast Asian than Italian, which isn't a knock on the flavor, but it's thinned out, watery in a way that suggests tomato water crept in where it shouldn't have. The texture's good. The idea's good. It needs to be tightened. Where the kitchen finds itself is the spicy rigatoni -- pasta cooked with real conviction, al dente without apology, sauce rich without tipping into heavy. It's the best thing on the table and it knows it. The only note is the same note you'd give a chef who's proud of a sauce: cut it with something acidic. A little lemon would keep you eating past the third bite instead of feeling it. The mushroom lasagna is lovely and insulting in equal measure -- the pasta is buttery and thin in the right way, the mushrooms taste like they were cooked with attention, and the portion is a joke relative to the check. Order it knowing you're paying for a taste, not a meal. And for a menu built on sauces this good, the absence of bread service is a real miss -- this is a kitchen that's leaving free money on the table. Dessert continues the pattern of "good, not quite resolved." The chocolate cheesecake barely tastes like cheesecake -- the cream cheese is a whisper, the chocolate does the structural work a proper crust should do, and the crust itself collapses before your fork gets there. None of that makes it bad. It makes it a very good chocolate dessert wearing a cheesecake's name tag. A little berry, some real tartness, would give it the contrast it's currently missing. The bread pudding is the safest thing on the menu -- a touch dry, restrained on sweetness in a way that reads intentional rather than accidental, topped with ice cream that tastes like it came out of a tub because it did. If I could, 4.5 stars
