Service was slow and the coffee seemed to have disappeared under all the milk. I heard training new staff so could be a random error on all fronts. The place seems awesome and I can tell they have an outside deck for nice weather use. I did not try any food - the sign says coffee and waffles and I am a waffle fan! I will give it another shot and see if an update on the review is in order. read more

This is my favorite coffee place, but don't understand why it takes 15-20 minutes to get through the drive thru to get a $8.00 dollar coffee. I have been a barista and it doesn't take this long to make a latte. Great coffee, but customer service needs to pick it up. This is the CDA location. read more

Always a win at Union. This is my #1 matcha place in CDA! Each location is unique, but United. I can be found at either location, regularly, and they always deliver expert service and a perfect matcha latte, every time. I recommend them to everyone and bring my friends there, too. Ordered a latte and noticed that the prep area was covered in coffee grind. The rag the baristas used to clean the portafilters was completely covered in coffee grinds as well. It was not busy so there really wasn't any excuse for such a poorly maintained prep area. Perhaps better management supervision is needed to ensure a professional and hygienic environment is maintained. read more

Deliberately returned to this delightful coffee shop two days in a row because of their delicious coffee. They have a single origin espresso offering which is always a treat to enjoy. Breakfast offerings are flavorful, including one of my family's favorites of liege waffles. Quiche slice was a generous portion, and also flavorful and had a light texture. Crust was hand made, flaky and flavorful. I encourage anyone heading through Couer D'Alene to stop here and try out their coffee. The staff are polite, attentive and work in a timely manner. Great coffee and great atmosphere. The owners are very kind and always eager to great you with a smile. This has to be the only shop in the area offering Hemp Milk, which is quite delicious! I highly recommend The Grumpy Monkey to everyone who enjoys a quality roast and specialty latte. Even if you like plain drip, this is the place to go. I'll see you there!!!! Great customer service and friendly staff! The decor and setup inside is clean and modern. My husband got a nitro cold brew and I got the lavender latte. Both were good. The lavender latte was not too strong which was nice, subtle in flavor and it's not too sweet like the chained coffee places. We enjoyed and very much and will be back when we are in town. read more

Traveling through this morning I discovered this place on Yelp. Clean, easily accessible from the interstate with freshly roasted coffee. I was most impressed by the staff and service. We ordered a cortado and an 8 ounce cappuccino. Both were hot, fresh and accurately made. The coffee flavor was exactly what I wanted. The coffee was pretty good, the waffles were delicious but the service was not great. There were two girls working this morning, neither wearing masks. Seems odd since the law is to wear one indoors and they didn't even have one near them or on. And they were making our food. The girl who took our order was not friendly at all and was a bit rude. I asked for a regular cup instead of a paper cup, since we were having our coffee there. She wasn't happy with that request and made me feel bad to ask. I just like a real cup when I'm not drinking coffee on the go. Overall, the coffee was pretty good and waffles great. But with the service, I'm not sure I'd return. read more

Such a cute coffee house tucked in the back of the neighborhoods of Coeur D'alene. Might look like any ordinary building but inside is filled with surprises. Very modern take inside and not only do they have a unique coffee selection they serve the softest little waffles you'd ever devour. These things though little are sure to fill you up! Only thing is that you wouldn't quite know about these little bites unless you read reviews like we did. The menus aren't readily available and very few. But overall such a great find! read more

This is probably one of the better coffee spots in CDA. It's not the best but it's legit and they do $2 lattes from 6-8 am. If this review was for the coffee alone 4 stars no doubt. The thing is they sell waffles here and it's a big part of what they do. I've had the waffles twice. Once they were decent and another time super doughy and disgusting. The thing about the waffles is that they clearly aren't using organic ingredients and they are expensive. My advice; go for the coffee and forget the waffles. read more

Perfect portion for two with a couple topping options. I would go back just for those. I ordered their take on eggs Benedict and my husband had the classic breakfast plate. Union Coffee Roasters is truly the best coffee in Coeur d'Alene. The baristas are kind, friendly, and far from snobby though they know their stuff. The owner that's in the shop, Shane, is personable and will likely remember more than just your name when you have a conversation. I'd call this place excellent and genuine. Having lived in Cd'A for most of my life I have yet to see a better coffee shop. They also bake their own goods, make their food, and offer plenty of space if you need to get some work done. If you're visiting Cd'A, don't miss this good find. And of course, the coffee is .
