This donut place was fantastic and I regret not coming back when I had the time to grab some more of their incredible donuts. We were on our way to a concert so we just bought a donut to share as a sweet treat while we walked to the venue, after we had eaten dinner in Boston Public Market. We couldn't resist the tempting variety of donuts they had. The person working the counter was pleasant and pretty quick. He seemed super chill even if my photo of him seems quite different, lol. The stand itself was clean, albeit small, and I loved the way they displayed the donuts so you could see how they looked and see what was out. Shockingly, there wasn't much out for so late at night. I will admit that they are a bit pricey, but they are also pretty big and very delicious. Worth the splurge.

Kiosk location in Boston Public Market, with donuts that are obviously transported in. I can't say it's a bad donut, but for $5, you don't get a fresh one. Boston Cream: Excellent dark chocolate, but cold. Good filling, extra points for custard, but points lost for being cold. Stale underlying donut. Like biting into a baseball glove. And this at 9am. I miss the days when they were a single store on Somerville Avenue, hustling instead of coasting, and when you had a chance of getting a warm one.

Great location near City Hall. Delicious donuts and beverage selection. Fresh and unique flavors, such as, Sweet Corn & Blueberry and Salted Brown Butter Cruller. The gentleman that helped us, was friendly and efficient. He even asked if we had a preference on how he packed the donuts, given the unique flavors and frosting. It's counter service - and the menus were easily accessible. The station was small and neatly organized. There wasn't a line when we went, which was nice. We only knew they were here, because we saw a few people walk by with boxes...so we knew we had to try them. I will definitely stop here again the next time we are in town.

I don't know why I came back to USD after not liking it the first time but I just wanted to prove myself wrong because they look so appealing. But oh my god how disappointing these donuts are. I wouldn't even call them donuts at this point they lack that fluffy and airy aspect of an actual donut. They literally taste like frosted brioche buns. They don't even taste fresh either. The beautifully crafted pastries just lure you in but don't fall for it! And they are crazy expensive! Definitely not worth it. There are so many other places in Boston that topple USD. However customer service was very good. They were patient with me and overall very friendly. Two stars only for them.

    Dubai Chocolate and Boston Cream.

I loved the donuts here. I went to the location by Harvard and liked it so much I went again to the one in the Boston Public Market. I got the Cruller, Dubai Chocolate and of course the Boston Cream. I love Dubai Chocolate so I had to try it and didn't think it would be great but it exceeded my expectations. The pistachio cream actually had the kataifi in it giving it that crispy texture. I was planning on only taking a few bites but finished the whole thing. I got it at the Union Square location. The other 2 donuts were amazing as well. I liked Union better than Kanes.

We recently tried the donuts at this location again after a long time. As usual they have plenty of options. You order and they bag it up for you right there. We got three flavors - S'mores, Red Currant Crunch, Dubai Chocolate Bar. The favorite of the lot was the Dubai chocolate bar. While it is more expensive than a typical donut, it is so tasty. I love the pistachio filling and the crunch of the vermicelli and I was happy to introduce it to my visitors who were eating this for the first time. The next best was the red currant crunch which had a slight tartness to it. The s'mores wasn't anything to write home about, just very marshmallow-y and sticky.

Got a recommendation by our trolley driver that their favorite donut in the city was the Apple Cider Cake Donut at Union Square Donuts. After a few minutes of hunting around in the Boston Public Market, we found the booth - wrapped around a support pillar. The donut itself was cake donut that was super crusty on the outside (think extra deep fried). Flavor was good too. It really hit the spot for me. I'm the type that really likes the cragly bits on an apple fritter.

We got the milk and cookies donut and the boston cream donut. I liked the milk and cookies donut better than the boston cream donut. The donuts didn't taste too fresh but the flavor was alright. I wish they could warm it or something.

Donut wasn't bad but at this price point I was hoping for something more memorable. Located in the Public Market and neat T stop.

We walked over to the Boston Public Market to grab breakfast on a recent stay in Boston. While we fully intended to get something different, the he display of donuts here called us in to investigate. We decided to order one to split and then split what we originally came in to order. We ordered an apple salted caramel cinnamon roll and it was good and seemed fresh, but was a lot of sugar. The price point seemed a bit much however.

Came here on a Tuesday morning around 9:30 am and there were several flavors available to try. I'm usually a plain glazed donut type of gal, but went for the Boston cream pie donut since I just moved here and it seemed appropriate. The icing was great - and I'm not even an icing fan! The chocolate was velvety but not overpowering nor too rich. The donut itself was fluffy with a good amount of filling. Price was standard fancy donut pricing & service was fast & friendly!

I love Union Square Donut's vegan donuts--always so fluffy and perfect flavouring. I used to go to the Union Sq location all the time when I lived there, so I was really glad to have the Boston Public Market location accessible for my stay near North Station. I got there not long after opening, so there was no line and no issue's with sold-out donuts. They had three vegan varieties that day--cinnamon sugar, apple cider, and pumpkin. All were good, but I was definitely most partial to the pumpkin one. Their space, like many of the vendors there, is pretty small so it might take a second to find it your first time around. On the other hand, if you're feeling extra hungry you won't be at a loss for options!

When I lived in Somerville in 2021 I loved picking up a Union Square donut on my walk to work. When I returned to visit Boston 2 years later, I wanted my parents to try it too. We went to the downtown location and it was not good. Donuts weren't fresh and were dry and hard. I would not recommend this location and now fear if the other one is as good as it was before maybe I'll give the Somerville location another shot when I return to Boston.

Spongy and forgettable. Go to Blackbird for jelly and chocolate, and check out Kane's for chocolate frosted and old fashioned.

Very cool flavors, but wasn't impressed with the dough of the doughnut. I prefer cake doughnuts so that might be the thing...

The huge lines seem intimidating, but they go by quite quickly, and it spreads into 3 separate lines inside. Bear in mind they are CASH ONLY. They do box your orders nicely with their iconic string. :) Although they're known for their cannoli, you can also order other pastries like eclairs, whoopie pies, brownies, cheesecakturnovers, florentines, scones, croissants, cookies, and even Dubai chocolate. Their pastry variety is endless. I ordered the Mint chip and Pistachio cannoli. Both were decadent but not too heavy or sweet. One downside is that I felt they were a bit drier than Modern, but otherwise comparable. Each was $8, although you can get "kits" for cheaper (some flavors like Dubai chocolate are more expensive). I'd love to come back and try the rest of their cannolis and pastries!
