I've always wanted to experience a facial and get used to treating myself once in a while so I went to Unique Threading Salon last month to get a deep cleaning gold facial with employee Queen. She could tell it was my first time to get a facial so she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. She walked me through what was that exact facial I was getting and the benefits of it. I went to get another facial yesterday with Queen because of the first experience I had was amazing. She goes beyond just to make sure i'm feeling relaxed through out the process. After she was done my skin was feeling super clean! I've decided to go once a month to get the acne facial with her. I've honestly never gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows. Kavya is the absolute best--she recommended switching me to a different type of wax, and it was a total game changer. It has made such a difference for my skin and my overall waxing experience. I've also had my eyebrows threaded by several people here, and every single one has done an amazing job. Re-opening Service (Covid) Let me start with the precautions taken by the salon. Everyone is socially distanced. Patrons are asked to wear a mask. When you walk in you are given hand sanitizer and you they do a temperature check before even beginning any service. Everyone at the salon has masks and shield. I felt very comfortable coming in and seeing how well managed the salon was and how clean everything was. MY EYEBROWS are AMAZING. I did threading and eyebrow tinting (Color natural brown) by Monica. I like my eyebrows thick. She did such a great job cleaning them up and making sure I maintained the grow I worked so hard for during quarantine. I VERY HAPPY! 1st Time was the Best Time My first wax I was so afraid of the pain but I was so tired of the razor bumps from shaving and I even tried Nair hair removal cream but did not solve my problem for the smooth skin I wanted . I am black girl with sensitive skin. I first did my legs and underarms to test how much pain i could take. Its a quick stinging feeling but it wasn't too bad. My regular waxing place closed(RIP Spruce and Bond) and my friend recommended Unique Threading. I made an appointment with Aarti, but since I got their very late, I was met by Pari at the front desk. I got A Brazilian Sugaring and Pari was very professional, friendly and thorough. I will go to her again when I return in 4 weeks. I dropped star because of the little niceties I got used to at Spruce and Bond were not here: Feminine Wipe so you can do a little clean up before, a step stool to get onto the table(I am short and the table does not adjust) and time to get out of multiple winter layers. Everyone is always soo welcoming and friendly but i would recommend MANJU to anyone! I used to go to another salon which was not clean and the lighting was terrible! Unique Threading Salon is such a wonderful change for me. It's spotless (so clean) and a really nice, open space that is well-appointed and with beautiful natural light and excellent lighting for late night appointments. I have been a few times and primarily seen Khagi for threading and waxing. When Khagi wasn't there, I worked with another specialist and she was also good. Khagi is excellent not only at threading but she also has a very pleasant and nice disposition. This place use to be amazing until Jigna left!! She has gone missing!! Management is EXTREMELY rude! The guy that stands in the front like a guard dog really needs a class in professionalism. I only went to this place for Jigna because she truly is the BEST in the business, and then she went on "vacation" (which is apparently what they tell customers when their employees leave). They treat their employees like second class citizens and are very horrible to them! I feel very bad for the women that feel that they need to stay there and endure that type of treatment! Unique threading salon has been a wonderful experience. Several places I've went to don't have best hygiene practices. I have never got an ingrown or pimple from this chain. Kavya, one of the specialists, has made the experience even more worthwhile. She works at your pain tolerance and takes your feedback. She offers her input on the best way to shape your eyebrows. Geeta has been threading my eyebrows for a few years now. The first time, she began to address some asymmetry by who was doing my eyebrows previously. Over time she has continued to craft & upkeep the most perfect shape! I can also be very particular so any (rare) time I think there is even a hair in / out of place, she is more than happy to hear me out & accommodate me. First off, I need to highlight that I'm very selective with who handles my nether regions (for waxing) and my eyebrows (I've always maintained a thick natural shaped brows) and KAVYA is the BEST FOR BOTH!!! This place is amazing !! Firstly - very clean. When I walked in, my temperature was taken, I filled out a form to ensure I didn't have any COVID symptoms, and hand sanitizer was provided upon entry. I've been going to this salon for a few years now, I discovered them at their old location on 6th Ave., and followed them to their new Flatiron location, great, open, bright space, not always convenient but I make the treck. The address listed on the Groupon does NOT match the address using Google maps, so it's best to ask for exact directions. After leaving my information, no one called to check and see if I was on the way. I eventually showed up 2 hours late. The women were kind, and gentle, however, if it weren't for Groupon, I probably would've never walked into this place for a body wax. It just didn't *feel* and look clean. Be prepared to pay a mandatory $6 tax AFTER redeeming your Groupon, and that $6 will also be taxed making your total an extra $6.32 and top is optional. After my wax, I immediately started feeling a burning sensation and it may have to do with the baby oil these salons like to put all over your body which is definitely not recommended. PLEASE STOP PUTTING BABY OIL ALL OVER OUR SKIN after waxing!!! I wouldn't return because of the distance, clean feeling in the wax room, and it's nothing special.
